Jennifer Newell ( j.lee roe)(Drama, Dark) - The Jigsaw Paradigm' tells the story of Katherine, a young woman who has tried to commit suicide. Told in a series of flashbacks about her suicide and the present life she is leading two years on from her failed attempt, she has formed an unlikely friendship with another failed suicide victim called Spencer who has tried to kill himself six times. As Katherine struggles to understand why she tried to commit suicide, and her difficulty in facing up to questions she doesn't have the answer to, she finds herself questioning such irrational acts. What is the pattern to suicide as in what is the pattern to life? Katherine's own struggle to find answers and face the truth is mirrored by all the other characters that are somehow all linked in a puzzle with no key, many of them with their own questions and truths they must eventually face up to. It's a series of events that have been and already are set in motion that then affect all of their lives for better or worse. And like a jigsaw they fit together in places but not all the pieces fitting, because just when you think you know the rules/pattern there is always someone or something that comes along and adds something new, like a new twist. All in all I guess I would describe it as a dark/black drama. (doc)

John Newman(Drama) - Charlie Shaman, a dissolute Magician, ends his final show by selecting a dying woman from the audience and making her disappear. Less than an hour later Police discover Charlie and the woman's body in his hotel suite. An open-and-shut case, except for the irrefutable evidence (and laws of physics) that make it impossible for the body to be in the room in which it was discovered. The only possible explanation, although certainly not one which you would wish to present to a jury, is that Charlie is no illusionist: his magic is real. Charlie is arrested, and through his interrogation tells the story of his past: of his abandonment at age eight; of the Step-Grandfather who teaches him how to bend reality to his will; and of the one tragedy that is beyond anyone's power to correct. "The Magic Man" is the story of an outsider; it is a story about the inescapable trinity of pain, love, and sacrifice that define us as human beings. 124 pages (doc)

Stephen Felder(Drama) - Billy Peters' parents were not typical. They always taught him to follow his heart, eat ice-cream for breakfast, and 'tell the fuzz nothing,' but this carefree philosophy doesn't seem to be helping him cope with his mother's death, survive his senior year in high school, and land the girl of his dreams. Not long after Billy's mother dies his sister moves out of the house, his brother starts partying as if nothing had happened, and his father is already dating again, but Billy can't seem to get over the pain he's feeling and he doesn't want to get on with his life. After assaulting a police officer, failing all his classes, and losing his girl to his best friend, Billy gives up hope until a car accident and chance encounter with a disillusioned Episcopal priest helps him realize that his art can help him 'picture' his pain. 'sMall Life' is a sometimes-comical coming-of-age story for anyone who has struggled to 'get on with life' after suffering a devastating loss. 116 pages (doc)
