Winter’s Bone and I Love You Phillip Morris screenplays - post author Don

Winter’s Bone – undated, unspecified draft script by Debra Granik & Anne Rosellini (Based on the novel by Daniel Woodrell) – hosted by: Roadside Attractions – in pdf format

With an absent father and a withdrawn and depressed mother, 17 year-old Ree Dolly keeps her family together in a dirt poor rural area. She’s taken aback however when the local Sheriff tells her that her father put up their house as collateral for his bail and unless he shows up for his trial in a week’s time, they will lose it all. She knows her father is involved in the local drug trade and manufactures crystal meth but anywhere she goes the message is the same: stay out of it and stop poking your nose in other people’s business.

Thank you everyone - post author Don

On the eve of the Winter Solstice, I thought I take a moment to thank the moderators and members of SimplyScripts. Thank you for your contributions to the site and allowing me to share in your successes. I’d also like to thank the moderators of the discussion board George, Mike, Michael, Nixon, Topher and Steven.

I’d particularly like to thank Dr. Robert “bert” Newcomer who is really the unsung hero of the site. Not only is he an excellent moderator to cleans up and helps throttle the discussions so they don’t get out of hand, but he has on a number of occasions given me sage advice before I stick my foot in my mouth.

Bert and the other moderators do their work without compensation. They also are many times of target of the ire of folks unhappy with the decisions they have made.

So, as a small thanks, over the next month the theme for The Script of the Day will be Bert. I’ll be starting off with scripts that Bert has had a hand in. Starting December 25th will be “The 12 Days of Bert” featuring a work of Bert’s for each of the 12 Days of Christmas.

Thank you everyone for your contributions to this dorky little website.
