Hider In The House scripts - post author admin

Over on the Movie Scripts page we have, in Donovan’s words… …a strange little script by Lem “Kafka/The Limey” Dobbs called HIDER IN THE HOUSE. The title tells you what it’s about, but it’s interesting in that the movie is from the psychotic Hider’s point of view. A quirky, ambiguous sort of script while still being an adequate thriller. It was made into a film with howlin’ mad Gary Busey in the title role. It’s hard to find the film, but the script is good anyway. Thanks to Daily Script for the heads up. – Don

Dark Games - post author admin

Over on the Movie Scripts page we have Dark Games by Eric Dickson.

A 13 year old troublemaker falls witness to an attempted rape after cutting through the woods behind his house. He is later taken in by a retired homicide detective still obsessed with finding the one killer he never caught. 95 pages

Mandalay Independent Pictures and Bryan Spears are looking at it for cable and DVD distribution. They’re requesting a few changes, but will be picking it up. The cast includes Danny Trejo, Martin Kove, Jeff Conaway, Brian Thompson, Boo Boo Stewart and introducing Heather Tocquigny, who will be appearing in the AfterDark Films Horrorfest original film Perkins 14 (2009). [This] script… is an early draft and is a bit raw, but I’ll be sending you a new draft soon.

Congratulations, Eric. Thanks for sharing the early draft. Shout outs and such can be made on the Discussion Board

Solace and Steal Away and 29 more unproduced scripts - post author admin

Over on the Unproduced Scripts page we have thirty new and revised scripts up for your reading pleasure.

We have a variety up this week. There is Katrina’s supernatural thriller Solace about a group of teens spirited away in the middle of the night to a distopian youth behavior modification facility. I was initally going to give this a pass, but I got curious and was pleasantly surprised.

There is also Jared’s romantic piece, Steal Away where a young man and young woman meet in a bookstore and over the course of the night, the two strangers discover they may have more in common than they thought. Again, another almost pass, but it does start in a bookstore on a rainy Saturday evening.

Just a note, I have a backlog of unproduced scripts reaching back to late April. Some of you may notice that a script submitted last week is up, but a script submitted a month ago hasn’t been posted, yet. I have not been updating chronologically. I skip around. I hope within the next week to get the entire backlog up and out. Thanks for your patience. – Don

Stranger Things episode 4 – Latchkeepers - post author admin

All three acts of the latest episode, Latchkeepers from StrangerThings are up for viewing. In this episode, among the locksmiths of time and space, Kalypto is a third-rate immortal. He spends his eternity filing the Universe’s garbage, until a psychopathic client makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

This episode is directed by the shows creator and producer Earl Newton and written by Matt Wallace author of the fantastic podiobook, The Failed Cities Monologues.

For those of you who are not aware of StrangerThings, if you enjoy The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits or the recent short-lived anthology Masters of Science Fiction, then you will be quite at home with StrangerThings.tv. The writing, the acting and the production quality are top notch and on par with anything you are going to see on television today. This is, to my knowledge, the only video podcast you can watch in High Definition. This ain’t a blurry youtube vid.

Earl has been kind enough to allow me to host the teleplays to the first four episodes of StrangerThings. You can find them over on the TV Scripts page.

Darabont draft of Indy 4 - post author admin

While waiting for servers to update and files to download and upload (get deleted and reuploaded), I spent a lot of time dorking around the internet. In doing so, I came across WikiLeaks, a site that posts leaked documents. Between “Scientology cult FEBC staff training tapes” and “Protokoll Regierungsrat Zurich Missbrauch Steuervereinbarungen durch Offshore-Vehikel” I found the ‘purported’ Darabont draft of the latest Indian Jones movie. In many places it bears a strong similarity to the final film. On WikiLeaks, it is noted, “It also shows how Lucas blatantly ripped entire sequences from a much better film…” I beg to disagree as the credits on this draft show it was written by Frank Darbont [based on a] story by George Lucas. It is Lucas’ story and he can use it anyway he wishes. There has been great debate on the Discussion Board about the movie. There are those who loved it. There are those who hated it. I thought it was the best Indy movie, yet. – Don
