Unproduced scripts and the "one week challenge/writing exercise thing" - post author Don

On the Unproduced Scripts page we have twenty-seven new or revised scripts up. There is something from just about every genre to read. Pop over to the unproduced scripts and read something.

Also, the genre and theme of the one week challenge/excercise/thing has been announced. This month’s theme is “Why is everyone always shooting at me?”. The genre: comedy. So, sharpen your pencils and write a script no longer than 15 pages. This is open to anyone. Get your submission over to me by Friday, April 14, 2006 before 11:59 pm in your respective timezone, then join the banter on the discussion board. (Did I mention that this is free?)

Just a quick note. If your arch nemisis (I’m not going to mention any names, here) sends you a package of full body moisturizing/weightloss/beauty cream with a note that says, “Love Drew”, do not, I repeat, do not take off all your clothes and smear it all over your body. Trust me on this. Not a good idea.

Tim Minear and Howard Gordon’s "The Inside" - post author Don

April 3, 2006 – Thanks to anonymous and “Special K” for the heads up on this series of draft teleplays from Tim Minear and Howard Gordon’s cancelled series The Inside. You can read them in the correct viewing order (not as they were broadcast in the US).

Tim Minear has a new series coming out soon called Drive. All I know about it is that it focuses on an illegal cross-country road race. You might be able to glean more info from his site

I wish more writers, like Minear would put their work up on the ‘net so other aspiring writers can learn from the best. You can find your way to the scripts on the TV Scripts (and transcripts) page.

Important Announcement - post author Don

April 1, 2006 – Twenty-two new or revised scripts up on the Unproduced Scripts page. And this time, back by popular demand, I’ve included the “gang” name of the script writer so that Discussion Board members can know who really wrote the script.

Eight years ago I set up this site with the sole purpose of selling my action, adventure, sci fi, romance, western, film-noir, comedy, thriller – Space Stallion: The Dark Space Adventure of Sophie the Hybrid Horse Snake.

Over the years I’ve only gotten a couple of comments on my script. Those comments were, “Stinks” and “Crap”. I asked the reviewer if he/she could elaborate on his/her comment. The reply? “It really stinks like crap.”. I was not disheartened and over the years folks sent me links to other scripts on the ‘net. Other aspiring screenwriters asked if they could post their work on my site in the hopes of getting their work noticed. I was happy to oblige. I thought, perhaps, when potential producers saw SS:TDSAoStHHS next to other scripts, SS:TDSAoStHHS would really stand out. I’ve endured e-mails from writers telling me, “Thanks! I sold my script!” and “Hey, just wanted to let you know that I got a screenwriting job! Thanks!” and “My script is being produced!” and “Jesus! What moron wrote SS:TDSAoStHHS?”

You’d think I’d be happy helping someone else succeed. I’m not. I’m angry, bitter and jealous. I hope you all get hives in your nether regions. To the incredibly large number of aspiring screenwriters writing me complaining that no one read their script or reviewed their script or bought their script, I’d like to say, “Join the club! (and I hope you get hives, too).

I’ve removed my script from and, starting tomorrow, I will be redirecting every single link, every single file on to my new site, Simply-for-the-love-of-all-that-is-holy-buy-my-Space-Stallion:- The-Dark-Space-Adventure-of-Sophie-the-Hybrid-Horse-Snake-

– Don (Happy April Fool’s Day!)
