Thanks Steven for the heads up on this – It’s an early draft which you can compare to a later, undated draft.
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes – August 25, 1969 draft script by Billy Wilder and I.A.L. Diamond – hosted by: Archives.org – in pdf format
Director Billy Wilder adds a new and intriguing twist to the personality of intrepid detective Sherlock Holmes. One thing hasn’t changed however: Holmes’ crime-solving talents. Holmes and Dr. Watson take on the case of a beautiful woman whose husband has vanished. The investigation proves strange indeed, involving six missing midgets, villainous monks, a Scottish castle, the Loch Ness monster, and covert naval experiments. Can the sleuths make sense of all this and solve the mystery?

Today I’m featuring a large selection of the scripts and plays of Bernard Mersier.
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. In my younger years I wanted to become a doctor, but after winning my first writing contest in elementary, I decided on becoming a writer. Expressing what’s in your heart and on your mind is a wonderful way of reaching others with your work. The majority of my writings come from experience. My fictional work comes from people I know, or what I see and read about. Aside from writing being a talent I was born with, I do it for my children, letting them know you can be whatever you set your mind on as long as you’re determined.
At the end of the day…I can’t speak for everybody, but in my case. Growing up in Detroit builds character, good or bad. You grow and learn to live with the choices you made in order to become the character you truly are.
“Why join the crowd, when I can make the crowd?”
