Fifty original scripts and the aftermath of the One Week Challenge - post author Don

The One Week Challenge has come to a close. It hasn’t been without controversy. Some folks had a difficult time with the theme of a dramatic conversation between a vegan and a carnivore.

All the scripts are up with the author’s names revealed.

I’ve finally gotten the backlog of non-OWC scripts up on the Unproduced Scripts page.

Among the fifty scripts is Shawn’s dramatic thriller, Chernobyl.

On April twenty six, nineteen eighty six, Chernobyl reactor four exposed its molten deadly core into the atmosphere which forever altered humanity as the worst accident on earth. But was it an accident?

If that is not your bag, there are another forty-nine to choose from on the Unproduced Scripts page.

DC Douglas and Freedomworks - post author Don

We take you away from your regular programming for this Public Service Announcement.

My friend, voice over actor DC Dougles, recently got fired as vo talent from Geico. No, he wasn’t the gecko

(Well, DC is not so much a friend, but rather about five or six years ago he sent me an email asking if I would exchange website links with his voiceover site MyVoiceOverGuy. We did. I was one of the first sites to exchange links with him since my link is, like, at the bottom of his links page. A few years go I asked him if he was interested in recording a script for one of our One Week Challenges. He said no, ‘cuz he was painting his house.)

Anywhoo, DC Douglas was fired from Geico after leaving a drunken voicemail at Tea Party HQ Freedomworks. He’s back with an important, moving PSA: Please, please, don’t drunk dial the Tea Party.

Check out some background info on the whole thing here.

Hey, DC. If you do get blacklisted and have a little time on your hands and would be interested in recording a 15 page script, give me a call shoot me an email.

Alex Van Helsing: Vampire Rising by Jason Henderson - post author Don

Jason Henderson, author of The Sword of Dracula, (you can read a script excerpt here) has a new series – Alex Van Helsing. The first in the series, Alex Van Helsing: Vampire Rising by Jason Henderson, comes out today from HarperCollins.

Fourteen-year-old Alex has no idea that he’s descended from the world’s most famous vampire hunter, but that changes fast when he arrives at Glenarvon Academy and confronts two vampires in his first three days.

Turns out Glenarvon isn’t the only school near Lake Geneva. Hidden deep underground lies an ancient university for vampires called the Scholomance. And the deadly vampire clan lord known as Icemaker? You might say he’s a visiting professor.

When two of Alex’s friends are kidnapped by Icemaker, it’s up to Alex to infiltrate the Scholomance and get them back – alive. Assisted by the Polidorium, a top-secret vampire-hunting organization with buried ties to the Van Helsings, Alex dodges zombies, bullets, and lots – and lots – of fangs on his way to thwarting Icemaker’s plans and fulfilling his family destiny.
