Where The Wild Things Are, Cirque Du Freak, Amelia and other scripts - post author Don

Over on the Movie Scripts page there are a handful of new scripts courtesty of My PDF Scripts and The Script Collector. Notable among them is the controversial Where The Wild Things Are written by Spike Jonze & Dave Eggers.

Commentary on the adaptation has been beaten to death, so I’ll only add that I haven’t seen the movie, yet. I am ambivalent. I’ve read the story countless times to my boys who would wait with eager anticipation for the line, “Let the wild rumpus begin!” and begin bouncing on the bed. The book lent itself so much to firing the imagination of little children. I hope the movie doesn’t suck the life out of that and a new generation can continue to enjoy Sendak’s work.

You can also read the first half of the novelization of Max At Sea by David Eggers which appeared in the August issue of The New Yorker.

Also on the Movie Scripts page you can find Cirque Du Freak, Amelia and Obsessed among others. – Don

Bailey Road Community Lunch by Robert Weafer

Bailey Road Community Lunch" is a heartwarming short drama that dives into the lives of a ragtag group of seniors who gather weekly in a worn-down community dining hall. Through sharp wit, poignant moments, and raw humanity, the script explores themes of courage, connection, and acceptance in the face of life's challenges. Anchored by richly drawn characters and authentic dialogue, this story captures the unexpected bonds that can form in the most ordinary settings—celebrating humor, resilience, and the unspoken battles we all face. 17 pages
