Following in the steps of Universal and Paramount, Warner Independent is starting to post screenplays for Oscar consideration. The first screenplay (of many, I hope) Warner is pushing for academy nomination for best original screenpaly is In the Valley of Elah. Thanks, Scott, for the heads up on this from Warner Independent. A financially broke female American teacher gets lured into the business of drug smuggling and travels to Pakistan to smuggle drugs back to US. She gets caught with drugs at Pakistani Airport. She very dramatically escapes from the authorities and vanishes in a densely populated country. The question is how long can she stay on the run without money or passport in a country full of strangers? 125 pages
