This Life by Sally Blackburn

(Drama, Musical) - John is a successful businessman with a master's degree. His wife, Susan, has begun taking evening college classes to finish her degree as a nurse- a dream she has always had. When John and Susan were young, Susan had quit college early to raise their now 15-year-old daughter, Julie. They also have an 8-year-old son, Jeremy. John has been spending time with his business friends in the evenings- gambling and drinking. The high life is enjoyable until spending and drinking get out of control, and John gets a DWI. John slowly faces an addiction he thought he could control. He is aided by his "crusty old" AA sponsor, Jack, who tells him to "put the plug in the jug". Through the help of their friends, Susan and John discover a new kind of love and support. As John prepares to leave for a long-term treatment program, he receives a return letter from his long-lost father. Throughout their struggles, music (16 songs) about recovery, love, anguish, and hope touches the heart of the audience. (rtf)

(Drama, Epic, Myth) - After God creates three-dimensional space, He creates a flying machine of gold. These are the five cherubim, which unite to carry His throne. The cherubim represent the highest order of all flesh and blood to be created: the man, ox, eagle, lion, and pre-fall serpent. Over a span of six millenniums, God creates a home for His final creation, mankind. Afterwards, He returns to planet Heaven to rest. Returning to Earth, He discovers that the Serpent Cherub, Lucifer, has caused one-third of all angels and mankind to fall. The only way for God to restore balance is to wait six millenniums, so the number of resurrected Saints will equal the number of fallen angels. While God cannot restore the fallen angels, He devises a plan to restore mankind. His very own soul must become mankind's redeemer, born through the seed of the woman. God foretells this in the Garden of Eden. With the clock ticking, Lucifer's only hope of averting eternal damnation is to prevent the Redeemer's birth. (doc)
