FADE IN:

WHITE OVER BLACK

Murderous (mur'der-as) adj. 1. Capable of, guilty of, or intending to 
take 
the life of another.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS A PLENTY - NIGHT

MICHAEL or "MIKE" as we will refer to him is sitting at a table in the 
empty bagel shop drinking a cup of water. He has a BAGELS A PLENTY t-
shirt 
and cap on. He has a roughly chiseled face and a dark look. 

Mike rarely lets out a peak of a smile unless he is laughing.   Without 
looking Mike hears the doorbell ring which sounds whenever someone 
answers 
the door.
		
		MIKE
	We're closing soon.

A BASEBALL BAT swings into the frame which Mike see's for almost a 
millisecond before it hits him. We freeze almost a 1/10 of a second 
before 
the BASEBALL bat hits him.
		
		MIKE (OS)
	Being a teenager where I lived you had to 
	stick up for yourself to maintain respect.

We kick back in, the baseball slams Mike in 
e chest causing him to move in shock and loose his breath.
		
		MIKE (OS)
	I was fighting almost every day in high 
	school I just couldnt stay out of fights.

PAN 360 DEGREES: DAVID, a 6' foot something angry looking teenager is 
slamming Mike with a baseball bat at full speed. Mike grabs it from his 
hands and throws it. He stands up and tries to hit him but he falls 
down 
instead.
		
		DAVID
	Don't start shit with people you don't know 
	and this might never happen again.

DAVID spits on him and picks up the baseball bat. As Mike tries to 
stand 
up David leaves the store. A CUSTOMER walks into the store as Mike lays 
on 
the floor bleeding a bit.
		
		CUSTOMER
	Are you open?
		
		MIKE (OS)
	My normal life ended the night that Vincent 
	came into my life and changed everything...
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BAGELS A PLENTY - NIGHT

DAVID exits the bagel shop holding his baseball bat proudly and walks 
past 
a few cars to his VOLVO. Before he can open the door to his car Mike 
appears from behind with a crowbar he hits DAVID's swinging arm with. 
As 
DAVID screams in pain Mike hits DAVID a few more times with the 
baseball 
bat.

DAVID slides down to the floor leaning on his car. Mike starts kicking 
him 
in the face ruthlessly as if it occurs without end.
		
		WEST (OS)
	God damn. You look like you fucked eachother 
	up good.

As Mike turns around we FREEZE THE FRAME before we see WEST.
		
		MIKE (OS)
	Sometimes in life people have to do things 
	that at first they don't want to do. 
	(a beat)
	But when you get used to it, you begin to 
	love it and crave it. That's when you find a 
	murderous nature.
			
			CUT TO:

THE TITLES FOLLOWED BY "A MURDEROUS NATURE"
			
			CUT TO:

BLACK OVER WHITE: FIVE MINUTES EARLIER...
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD - NIGHT

VINCENT is a 40 something year old Italian looking man who is sitting 
in 
the passenger seat of the car looking bored. WEST, a 30 something black 
man is driving the car as he smokes a cigarette. When a rap song comes 
up 
on the radio WEST turns it up.

VINCENT looks at WEST with a look of dissapproval, WEST turns off the 
music and continues smoking his cigarette.
		
		VINCENT
	I don't know how you listen to that shit. 
	It's not real music.
		
		WEST
	What's real music, than? Operah? What music 
	do you listen to i've never heard you turn 
	up a song before.
		
		VINCENT
	Anything but that, jesus. All it is is a 
	bunch of guys talking really loud at the 
	same time while some prick plays the drums 
	in the background and there not even real 
	drums anymore. There so fucking lazy they do 
	everything on the computer. 
	(in dissaproval)
	Music now-a-day's...
		
		WEST
	Everyone has their own taste.

Vincent and West continue driving down the road, after a few moments.
		
		VINCENT
	(aggravated)
	The meetings in twenty minutes, what did 
	Pete want you to pick up on the way there?
		
		WEST
	He wanted us to get some bagels, I know a 
	place by the cabannah.
		
		VINCENT
	When we're you planning on telling me?
		
		WEST
	When we got a little closer, I don't know.
		
		VINCENT
	Why do they want bagels? Their office is in 
	a fucking restaurant.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. I-95 - NIGHT

A CADILLAC carrying WEST and VINCENT is speeding down I-95 at night 
surrounded by a few cars but not too many car. The car swerves in 
between 
the other cars in order of speed.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - NIGHT

The CADILLAC parks in a parking spot right in front of the bagel joint. 
West and Vincent get out of the car and walk to the bagel store which 
appears to be empty. The door is locked. We hear someone getting beaten 
up.

West and Vincent, curiously, walk around the corner of the store to 
where 
Mike is beating the shit out of DAVID in front of a VOLVO. Mike kicks 
David a few times in the face.
		
		WEST
	God damn boy, you looked like you fucked 
	eachtother up good.

Mike turns around and see's WEST and VINCENT standing in the middle of 
the 
street looking out of place.
		
		VINCENT
	Are you gonna do something like that with 
	two witnesses standing around?

Mike turns around just before he enters the bagel joint.
		
		VINCENT (CONT'D)
	We're very late for a meeting and we need a 
	few dozen bagels for some jewish friends of 
	ours.
		
		MIKE
	I hate to be an asshole but we're closed.
		
		VINCENT
	Come on, what's your name?
		
		MIKE
	Mike.
		
		VINCENT
	I'm Vincent.

Vincent and West walk closer to Mike as he stands at the door.
		
		VINCENT (CONT'D)
	How about if we pay a little extra, is it 
	worth the little inconvenience of you going 
	back there and getting me a few bagels? Come 
	on.

Mike has a look of sunrise.
		
		MIKE
	Forget the money, come on in.

Mike lets Vincent and West into the place.
		
		VINCENT
	Thanks, kid. 
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - NIGHT

Vincent and West walk up to the register where a huge menu is displayed 
on 
boards. Mike walks around to the register, he has some blood on his 
face. 
Vincent and West observe the menu.
		
		VINCENT
	Get me a dozen sesame, a dozen plain, and a 
	dozen everything.

Mike takes the appropriate bagels and places them in two large boxes 
and 
hands them to West who hands him a hundred dollar bill. 
		
		VINCENT (CONT'D)
	I'm gonna try one. See if it's worth ever 
	coming back here.

Vincent opens one of the boxes and takes a bagel out, he takes a bight 
out 
of it and slowly chews it.
		
		MIKE
	Most people eat them with cream cheese or 
	something else on it. 
		
		WEST
	I used to eat them toasted.

West and Vincent exchange looks as Vincent takes his final bights.
		
		VINCENT
	Good bagels not that I have bagels all the 
	time. Alright West, we're late let's get the 
	fuck out of here.

Vincent and West start walking toward the exit, Vincent looks back at 
Mike 
who is closing the register.
		
		VINCENT
	I'm probably gonna need more bagels so i'll 
	be back here, thanks kid. Mike, right?
		
		MIKE
	Yeah, whatever.

Vincent and West leave the bagel joint and get into the cadillac. As 
Vincent gets into the car his suit jacket folds to reveal a pistol in a 
holster, Mike see's it.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKES BEDROOM - MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

Mike is sitting at his desk reading out of a TEXTBOOK and writing 
information down on a piece of paper. After a few moments Mike puts all 
his work away and turns on the TV. Tommy from Goodfella's is putting a 
few 
bullets in Spider's head. Mike gets into his bed and begins watching 
it.
			
			CUT TO:

BLACK SCREEN

The screen remains black throughout this dialogue.
		
		GIRL (OS)
	Well, my boyfriend picked me up at seven but 
	he dropped me off early cause he had to go 
	to his college graduation.
		
		GIRL 2 (OS)
	Oh my god, your boyfriends in college? Your 
	only sixteen is that even legal?
		
		GIRL (OS)
	I don't think so but whatever, anyways so my 
	other boyfriend Jeff who's alot older came 
	over later and we had sex like five times. 
	He wants me to move in with him but I think 
	I want to finish high school.
		
		GIRL 2 (OS)
	Five times?

An annoying bell begins to ring as we cut to...

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

Mike's eyes opening, he sits up and watches the class empty out 
including 
the girls who were just talking. Mike puts the book he was resting on 
in 
his backpack and leaves the classroom.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. SCHOOL HALLWAYS - MORNING

Mike is walking through the hallways that are full of people walking in 
every which way, some bumping into him. Mostly the kids are in groups, 
but 
Mike is solo.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - AFTERNOON

Mike gets out of his 94 Acura LEGEND and walks over to the mailbox 
which 
he unlocks with a key. He opens a bunch of letters and eventually comes 
across a letter from UO. Mike rubs the scar on his face from the fight 
and 
opens the letter anxiously which reads...
		
		LETTER
	To Michael Sylva and his parents, we have 
	read your transcript and reviewed your 
	academic record and have approved your 
	admission to the University of Ohio. We hope 
	to see you next fall. 

The letter is signed, Admissions. Mike has a look of excitement and 
turns 
to his apartment grasping the letter.
		
		MIKE
	(very loud)
	Mom! 
			
			CUT TO:

INT. THE CABANNAH - AFTERNOON

The Cabannah is a bar on the beach with tables for people to eat. It is 
a 
very high class bar. Two body guards are standing in front of a door as 
the camera approaches them. They open the door for us and let us in to 
reveal --

Vincent, Angelo and Rudy, all made men, are sitting around a small 
circular table in their armani suits smoking cigars and having a 
conversation over a pile of hundred dollar bills.
		
		ANGELO
	What's the word on the street from the big 
	guy, up there?
		
		VINCENT
	He wants this Gomes thing to end. We can't 
	be risking the shit that might come out of 
	this whole thing.
		
		RUDY
	If you put out a hit on a guy like Gomes 
	your taking a risk.
		
		ANGELO
	Who's taking a risk? The boss of our family 
	want's him to go, he goes. That's how things 
	fucking work around here. We just get 
	someone who doesnt fit the profile, it's 
	easy.
		
		RUDY
	Around here? We're in Miami, the family is 
	in New York. We're fucking going solo here 
	Angelo! All we do to be apart of this 
	"family" is send a few grand up to the big 
	apple every week.
		
		VINCENT
	Hey, calm down. We're gonna talk about this 
	thing like civilized people. Now, we do have 
	one problem with the gomes thing.
		
		RUDY
	Just one? I know more than one so what do we 
	got a few men down here? What are we gonna 
	wage war on the biggest fucking drug dealer 
	in Miami?
		
		VINCENT
	Rudy your interrupting me now.

Everyone stops moving, Vincent gives Rudy the look of death.
		
		VINCENT 
	When you disrespect me, I disrespect you. 
	Rudy, you know that's how I am.

Rudy has a look of realization.
		
		RUDY
	I'm sorry, I didnt mean to disrespect you 
	i'm just proving my point. Gomes's guys are 
	gonna up our asses if this thing goes 
	through you know that, Vincent.
		
		VINCENT
	The bosses want him out of the picture so 
	he's out of the picture, this isnt a 
	discussion. It's over my head. Now, everyone 
	I can think of from out of town for this job 
	is currently unavailiable thank you to the 
	federal bureau of investigations... 
	(a beat)
	But i'm pretty sure my guy West can do the 
	whole thing. I trained him myself.
		
		ANGELO
	Is he from out of town?
		
		VINCENT
	That's the only problem he's a native but 
	he's a low profile guy. You met West. He's 
	black no one will ever suspect anything.
		
		RUDY
	It's out of my hands now. You guys kill 
	whoever the fuck you wanna kill... 
	(a beat)
	I'm out of here.

Rudy stands up and starts walking to the door, he opens it and turns 
around to Vincent and Angelo.
		
		VINCENT
	You don't walk out on the family!
		
		RUDY
	What family? My family is at home waiting 
	for me to make dinner.

The door closes Vincent and Angelo look at eachother.
		
		ANGELO
	You gonna take care of this one, Vincent?
		
		VINCENT
	I got to get permission from the big guy 
	first, Rudy's a made man. I'm going back to 
	the city in a few days I'll talk to him. 
	(a beat)
	As for all this money, keep it here until I 
	find someone to do the Gomes hit.
		
		ANGELO
	(laughing)
	You could do it yourself, it's not like 
	Gomes is going to retaliate if we take out 
	all the right people.
		
		VINCENT
	I can't take a risk like that besides the 
	boss said he doesnt want any captains making 
	hits anymore. Captains are too valuable. 
	Gomes's guys can't have a fucking clue who 
	did this. 
	(a beat)
	His brother is crazy, he'd come after the 
	whole fucking family until everyone was 
	dead. The guy I told you about, West, he'll 
	be fine.
		
		ANGELO
	Fuck Gomes's brother why don't we just take 
	him out too?
		
		VINCENT
	Cause it's unecessary, and expensive.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - AFTERNOON

Mike and Tommy are working behind the register adding fresh bagels to 
the 
racks. The same CADILLAC pulls up in front of the store. Vincent gets 
out 
of the car and walks into the store.
		
		VINCENT
	Hey Mike. What's up?

Tommy walks to the back of the store to do something. Mike gives his 
attention to Vincent who keeps getting closer.
		
		VINCENT (CONT'D)
	I need the same thing I got last time, 
	alright?
		
		MIKE
	What was that I have a bad memory?
		
		VINCENT
	A dozen plain, a dozen sesame and a dozen 
	everything.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. STRIP CLUB PARKING LOT - AFTERNOON

Rudy and a STRIPPER walk out of the strip club into the nearly empty 
parking lot as they walk toward a MERCEDES. West appears in the frame 
with 
a silenced pistol, he walks up behind them and put a bullet in Rudy's 
head 
and than a bullet in the stripper's head.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - AFTERNOON

As Mike gathers all the bagels Vincent ordered...
		
		VINCENT
	Can I smoke a cigarette in here?
		
		MIKE
	Technically your not allowed to.

Vincent lights up a cigarette and takes a few drags.
		
		VINCENT
	I'll take that as a yes.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. STRIP CLUB PARKING LOT - AFTERNOON

When the Stripper begins to move West puts another few rounds of 
bullets 
in her and another in Rudy. He turns and gets back into his car and 
drives 
off.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - AFTERNOON

Mike hands Vincent the huge bag with boxes in it full of bagels. 
Vincent 
throws his cigarette in the trash after ashing it on the counter and 
grabs 
the bag. Vincent's cell phone rings, he put's the bag down and answers 
it.
		
		VINCENT
	(into phone)
	Yeah. Who else? A stripper. Fuck it he won't 
	care. Alright, bye.

Vicent hangs up the phone and looks back at Mike. He grabs the bag
		
		VINCENT
	Thanks, Mike. I dont know, these jewish guys 
	really love this shit. 
	(looking around)
	Hey does anyone ever come to this store 
	other than me?
		
		MIKE
	Sunday's our slowest day.
		
		VINCENT
	Alright kid. I'll see ya.

Vincent begins to walk out of the store.
		
		MIKE
	Have a good one, wait. What was your name 
	again?

Vincent turns around right before he gets to the door.
		
		VINCENT
	Vincent.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. STRIP CLUB PARKING LOT - AFTERNOON

Rudy and a stripper lay in a puddle of blood in front of the strip 
club. 
Two OTHER STRIPPERS walk out of the joint and see the two dead bodies.
		
		STRIPPER
	Oh my god.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

A classroom filled with approxiamately 20 students. At a particular 
table 
Mike is sitting with three kids we have never seen before. They are 
doing 
some sort of lab as is the rest of the class. Some kids are wandering 
around; one of them, IAN, comes over and sits next to the kid, DANNY, 
sitting next to Mike.
		
		IAN
	Yo Danny, do you know this girl Karla you 
	went out with her like in 8th grade or 
	something?

Ian grabs himself a seat, Mike looks up from his lab.
		
		DANNY
	Yeah I still talk to her sometimes, she 
	always calls me.
		
		IAN
	Yeah that girl is such a slut. She puts out 
	like a fucking hooker man.
		
		DANNY
	She hooked up with David Golden.
		
		IAN
	She'd hook up with anybody.
		
		MIKE
	Yo, who are you talking about?

Ian looks to Mike carelessly.
		
		IAN
	Don't worry about it, it's none of your 
	business.

Ian turns back to Danny.
		
		IAN
	Yo where are the answers to this lab I don't 
	have a fucking clue.

Ian looks at Mike's paper which is completely filled out, as he grabs 
from 
in front of Mike's seat.
		
		IAN
	I need this, thanks.

Ian begins to copy the worksheet. Mike looks across at his table, two 
kids 
are laughing at him. Mike looks at his TEACHER who walks into his back 
office. Mike stands up and grabs the stool he was sitting on. He 
retracts 
it and slams it into Ian's back. Ian falls onto the floor screaming in 
pain.
		
		IAN
	Oh my god!

Mike smashes it into Ian again and again making him almost cry.
		
		IAN
	Stop!
		
		STUDENT
	Holy shit.
		
		STUDENT 2
	Mr. Rothman!

Mike takes the stool and sits back down on it, Ian squirms on the 
ground. 
		
		MIKE
	Yo, everyone shut the fuck up. Ian stand up 
	you pussy. I didnt hit you that hard.
		
		IAN
	(In pain)
	You broke my fucking back!
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

MOTHER, FATHER and MIKE are sitting around the dinner table eating 
their 
plates of chicken, mashed potatoes and corn.
		
		FATHER
	Mike we know you really want to go to Ohio 
	State but we just don't have enough money. 
	We thought you were going to get a 
	scholarship.
		
		MIKE
	Oh so now your going to blame this on me? 
	You shouldnt have expected anything. 
		
		MOTHER
	What about your job at the bagel shop?
		
		MIKE
	I could work there the rest of my life and I 
	still won't be able to pay tuition.
		
		FATHER
	Mike, why can't you just pick a different 
	college, that's less expensive.
		
		MIKE
	(in all serious)
	When I go to college i'm gonna come back 
	here and visit you. And if I see anything 
	nice or expensive i'm gonna be really 
	angry. 
		
		FATHER
	(concerned)
	Is that a threat Michael?
		
		MIKE
	Your god damn right it is, this is my 
	education, my future were talking about!
		
		MOTHER
	That's no way to talk to your parents.
		
		MIKE
	You dont want to inconvenience your perfect 
	lives for my education. I'll get the money 
	on my own.
		
		FATHER
	I'd like to see you try.
		
		MOTHER
	Richard!
		
		MIKE
	Fuck this. I'm leaving.
		
		FATHER
	You watch your language young man!
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - AFTERNOON

Mike is sitting in a different classroom, his English classroom. The 
teacher is lecturing with an overhead to assist. As everyone takes 
notes 
the door opens and a STUDENT brings a note to her. The teacher reads it 
and looks at Mike. 
		
		TEACHER
	Michael Svenning.

The student exits the room. Mike walks over to her and looks at the 
note 
she gives him. The students all give a "Your in trouble" look. Mike 
walks 
out of the door leaving his backpack.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. DEANS OFFICE - AFTERNOON

A DEAN and GUIDANCE COUNSELOR are sitting at a table across from Mike 
who 
looks suprisingly calm for the first time.
		
		DEAN
	Ian Davis. He's in your chemistry class 
	fourth period, right?
		
		MIKE
	I don't know who Ian Davis is, but there is 
	a good change he's in my chemistry class.
		
		DEAN
	Well, his mother called our office today and 
	said her son came home with huge bleeding 
	bruises and scars on his back from a student 
	who beat him in class.
		
		MIKE
	When was this? I might have been absent when 
	that happened.
		
		DEAN
	(quickly)
	I'm not finished yet. His mother said that 
	one of his friends called her and told her 
	that it was you.
		
		MIKE
	(stunningly)
	Well, whoever it is she's lying.
		
		DEAN
	Why do you assume it's a girl?
		
		MIKE
	Well, from the class you said earlier I 
	figured it was the only girl in the class I 
	wasnt sleeping with, Chelsea Hansford right?

The dean looks and the guidance counselor.
		
		COUNSELOR
	You have no right to know who it was, 
	Michael.
		
		DEAN
	We're brining Ian in here tommorow and we're 
	gonna as him if it was you. If he says no, 
	you free to go, if he says yes, your in alot 
	of trouble Mr. Svenning. You could be 
	charged with assault.
		
		MIKE
	Assault? Didnt I just tell you, I didnt hurt 
	a person I don't even know. What's wrong 
	with you people?
		
		DEAN
	You watch the way you speak to us, Michael.
		
		MIKE
	Bring in the guy. I'll stand right here in 
	front of him while he observes me... 
	(a beat)
	And than you'll know, I didn't touch him. 
	Alright?
		
		COUNSELOR
	We'll send another pass for you tommorow, 
	around 4th period.
		
		MIKE
	I'll see you there.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MORAZZI AUTO - AFTERNOON

VINCENTS OFFICE

Vincent is sitting behind his desk. West is sitting at a seat in front 
of 
him opening a file. He see's a picture of Gomes, the guy in Miami. He 
looks shocked and looks up at Vincent.
		
		WEST
	(smiling)
	Is this a joke? 
	(a beat)
	I know you wouldnt fuck around with me like 
	that. This is a suicide mission.
		
		VINCENT
	What are you afraid? I don't see how he's 
	gonna track you down if he's fucking dead.
		
		WEST
	It's not that. I used to work for the mother 
	fucker. If any of his guys or any of the 
	camera's catch me i'm a fucking dead man.
		
		VINCENT
	You used to work for Dominique Gomes? What 
	did you do for him?
		
		WEST
	Dirty work. The type of shit that you want 
	me to do to him.

Vincent gains a look of stress and rubs his fingers through his hair.
		
		VINCENT
	I'm gonna figure this out. The big guy wants 
	him dead by tommorow morning.
		
		WEST
	That's a problem isnt it.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. DEANS OFFICE - AFTERNOON

The dean, the guidance counselor, and Ian are all sitting around the 
office having a chat before Mike's arrival.
		
		IAN
	I don't know who beat me up, I couldnt tell 
	who it was I didnt have my contacts in. I 
	swear.
		
		DEAN
	You may have not seen him as well, but 
	someone in the class said it was Michael 
	Svenning. Do you know him?
		
		IAN
	Michael Svenning?

Theres a knock at the door.
		
		COUNSELOR
	Come in Michael!

Mike comes in and looks at Ian who looks worried.
		
		MIKE
	Hi.
		
		DEAN
	Have a seat.

Mike sits down in the only empty seat thats left.
		
		COUNSELOR
	(looking at Ian)
	Does he look familiar at all? 
		
		IAN
	Well I know he's in my class but he doesnt 
	look like the guy who attacked me.
		
		COUNSELOR
	Let me call your mom about those contacts.

Ian looks even more worried now. Mike looks at Ian.

The counselor picks up the phone and looks at a piece of paper as she 
dials a number. She holds for his mother to come on.
		
		COUNSELOR
	Hi this is Ian's guidance counselor your 
	sons in my office right now. He said the 
	moment he was beaten that he didnt have his 
	contacts in. I just wanted to verify. 
	(interrupted)
	What? Really? 
	(looking at Ian)
	Alright. Bye.

The counselor hangs up the phone.
		
		COUNSELOR
	You don't wear contacts. You were lieng to 
	me. 
	(looking at the dean)
	Can you believe this? We're trying to help 
	you and you lie to us!
		
		IAN
	No one hurt me! My mom's crazy she doesnt 
	know what she's talking about.
		
		DEAN
	A minute ago you said you were beaten.
		
		IAN
	I'm leaving.

Ian gets up and walks out of the room.
		
		DEAN
	Your not going to get away with is. All we 
	need is one more person to get you 
	suspended.
		
		MIKE
	Good luck. I have to go eat lunch.

Mike gets up and walks out of the room.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - AFTERNOON

Mike is sitting in the room. Linda is sitting across from him she is 
beautiful. She catches him looking at her causing him to turn and look

the teacher. When she looks at the teacher he looks at her again.

INT. MIKES BEDROOM - AFTERNOON

Mike, suprisingly, is still in bed sleeping as his clock reads 1:30. A 
bird accidentally flies into Mike's window causing a loud thumping 
noise 
that wakes Mike up. He looks at the clock.
		
		MIKE
	(aggrivated)
	Shit.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - AFTERNOON

Mike gets out of his car and struggles to put on his BAGELS-A-PLENTY 
vest. 
He walks into the store where Tommy is helping a line of customers.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - AFTERNOON

An old woman, an old man and a boy with a yammakah are all waiting in 
line 
at the bagel shop. Tommy is helping the old couple with their order. 
Mike 
walks into the store drawing Tommy's attention.
		
		TOMMY
	Your an hour and a half late, Mike.
		
		MIKE
	I slept in... 
	(sarcastically)
	Will you forgive me?

The CADILLAC pulls up once again in front of the bagel shop, Vincent 
gets 
out of the car and enters the bagel shop. Mike stops in mid-stride and 
looks at Vincent.
		
		VINCENT
	(smiling)
	So people do come here?
		
		MIKE
	Apparently.
		
		VINCENT
	(softly)
	I know there's a line and all but do you 
	think you could help me i'm in a bit of a 
	rush.
		
		MIKE
	Why are you always in a rush?

Vincent pauses, shocked that Mike asked him a question.
		
		VINCENT
	I have alot of meetings. Work.
		
		MIKE
	What kind of work are you in that requires 
	you to pick up 36 bagels almost everyday, 
	meanwhile, your still sporting the armani 
	suit and the colt 45.

Vincent observes Mike to see what his intentions are. Vincent looks 
back 
at the door to make sure he's not being set up.
		
		VINCENT
	(inferencing)
	Your an observant kid. 
	(a beat)
	D'you know anything about guns?
		
		MIKE
	Only what I see on tv. Do you always carry a 
	gun with you?

Vincent curiously examines Mike.
		
		VINCENT
	What are you getting at? I carry the gun for 
	my own protection. Alot of people carry 
	guns.
		
		MIKE
	Not the guns you have. 

Vincent thinks for a second and than makes a realization.
		
		VINCENT
	I hate to be rude but i'm sort of in a rush 
	right now.
		
		MIKE
	No problem, same as always?
		
		VINCENT
	Yeah.

Mike steps behind the register which no longer has a line, Tommy has 
wandered off into the back. Mike begins to arrange the bagels.
			
			CUT TO:

SHOT OF VINCENT

We zoom into his eyes as he watches Mike prepare the bagels.
			
			CUT TO:

A BEACH

Mike, in a suit, pulls out a silenced pistol and shoots a man and woman 
getting out of the car. Blood spills everywhere.
			
			CUT TO:

SHOT OF VINCENT

We retract from his eyes and pan to see Mike handing Vincent a large 
box 
of bagels. Vincent has lost attention.
		
		MIKE
	Here.

Vincent takes the box and holds it in his arms.
		
		VINCENT
	How much do you get paid working here?
		
		MIKE
	Five fifty an hour, i'm just working here so 
	I can pay for tuition.
		
		VINCENT
	I hear tuitions pretty expensive now'a days. 
	I never went to college.
		
		MIKE
	Me neither.
		
		VINCENT
	I'll see ya around. Alright?

Tommy walks back into the store and stands behind the register.
		
		MIKE
	Take care.

Vincent starts walking out of the store and exits. He gets into his car 
and drives off.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LIBRARY - MORNING

JASON, RYAN and SAMUEL are sitting around a library study area talking 
as 
their backpacks lay on the tables.
		
		JASON
	That kid Mike jumped my friend. I'm going to 
	the dean about that Ian thing.
		
		SAMUEL
	Are you kidding me?
		
		RUDY
	Your gonna tell on him?

Mike shows up out of nowhere and grabs Jason by the neck and holding 
his 
hand over his mouth.
		
		MIKE
	Say a fucking word, I dare you. 

Mike looks around, no one is looking at him.
		
		MIKE
	If I get in any shit over the Ian thing I 
	know who told on me. You know that I know 
	where you live, right? And I dont give a 
	fuck about your family i'll beat the shit 
	out of you in front of all of them.

Stefano walks over and stands next to Mike.
		
		STEFANO
	What are you talking to these herbs for?
		
		MIKE
	One of them wants to tell on me.

Mike lets go of Jason and looks at him.
		
		JASON
	I won't say anything. I promise.

Mike looks around and see's no one looking, he punches him in the face.
		
		STEFANO
	(laughing)
	Oh shit.

Mike and Stefano walk away. Ryan and Samuel get up and leave Jason 
there 
holding his nose.
		
		RYAN

INT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - NIGHT

Tommy and Mike are still in their BAGELS A PLENTY uniforms as they sit 
across from eachother. Tommy is eating a bagel as Mike rests his feet 
on a 
nearby chair.
		
		TOMMY
	What's with that guy that comes to the store 
	like everyday?
		
		MIKE
	The Italian guy, Vincent?
		
		TOMMY
	Yeah I always see him talking to you what's 
	the deal with that guy?
		
		MIKE
	I don't know, he's just a customer. 

Tommy looks at Mike for some type of explination.
		
		MIKE (CONT'D)
	(defensively)
	What? I dont know him.

After a few moments of Tommy eating.
		
		TOMMY
	When's graduation for you?
		
		MIKE
	Next week, on Friday night. Why, do you 
	wanna come?
		
		TOMMY
	No, I just wanted to know when your gonna 
	start working more. My shift is fucking huge 
	right now.
		
		MIKE
	(simply)
	Oh. 
	(a beat)
	D'you know when Haviv is coming back in 
	town? I think I want to quit.

Tommy looks at Mike in complete shock, Mike gives him a simple look.
		
		TOMMY
	What about tuition? Did you get that 
	scholarship you were talking about?
		
		MIKE
	No, I lost that a while ago. I think I just 
	want to get a job somewhere else.
		
		TOMMY
	Where would you work? This job is a fucking 
	dream there's like four customers a day.
		
		MIKE
	I know, it's boring. Just sitting here, 
	eating bagels, helping old people with their 
	breakfast. 
		
		TOMMY
	Whatever, it's your call.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CADILLAC - NIGHT

Vincent is sitting in his car smoking a cigarette as he talks on his 
cell 
phone. West is in the passenger seat.
		
		VINCENT
	Hey, Angelo. Yeah, I think I found a guy to 
	do that thing. 
	(a beat)
	No I'm on my way to ask him right now. If 
	this thing goes through it'll be fucking 
	perfect. Alright.

Vincent hangs up the phone and looks at West.
		
		WEST
	I told you it was a good idea. Obviously the 
	kid's short on money and obviously he aint a 
	pussy.
		
		VINCENT
	He's a kid West, I doubt he'll budge. I mean 
	come on, murder?
		
		WEST
	You were popping people when you were a kid 
	werent you?
		
		VINCENT
	It was different, I grew up in Brooklyn. 
	It's alot different than Florida up there.
		
		WEST
	This kid, Mike, do you think he even knows 
	how to fire a gun?
		
		VINCENT
	Are you kidding me? These kids now a days, 
	they can do anything. 
	(a beat)
	He even told me what kind of gun I was 
	carrying in the store.
		
		WEST
	He saw your gun?
		
		VINCENT
	He must of seen it when I got in or out of 
	the car or something...

Vincent throws his cigarette out the window.
		
		VINCENT (CONT'D)
	But the best thing about this plan, is 
	savings. A kid's not gonna charge two 
	million dollars for something like this. 
	It's gonna be cheap.
		
		WEST
	(smiling)
	Are you gonna send the change back to New 
	York?
		
		VINCENT
	(smiling)
	Well, that's for me to decide. Plus what are 
	the fucking chances he'll even do it.

Vincent catches Mike getting into his car...

EXT. SHOPPING CENTER - NIGHT

Mike is walking across from the Bagels-a-plenty to the parking lot as 
he 
approaches his car. He opens the door, but a man in the dark smoking a 
cigarette distracts us.
		
		VINCENT (OS)
	I know a quicker way you can get that 
	tuition but it requires you to... 
	(a beat)
	Get your hands dirty.

Mike turns around to see Vincent standing next to West by the CADILLAC.
		
		MIKE
	What are you talking about?
		
		VINCENT
	Get in the car, we'll talk.
		
		MIKE
	Tell me now, what is this about?
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CADILLAC - NIGHT

West is driving the car, Vincent is sitting in the passenger seat 
smoking 
a cigarette. Mike is sitting in the back seat.
		
		VINCENT
	I'm just come right out and say it and I 
	trust that you'll keep your mouth shut about 
	this whole thing. I need someone down in 
	Miami to sort of dissapear but all my guys 
	downhere worked for the motherfucker at some 
	point in time.
		
		MIKE
	You want me to kill someone, for money?
		
		WEST
	I think you just about hit that one on the 
	head.
		
		MIKE
	I'll do it.

West and Vincent look at eachother suprised and than back at Mike.
		
		VINCENT
	I didn't think it would be that easy.
		
		MIKE
	Fuck it I need the money and I don't have 
	any other options at this point. 
	(noticing)
	Where are we going?
		
		VINCENT
	I manage a car dealership here in Miami, I 
	have an office there.
		
		MIKE
	What cars do you sell?
		
		VINCENT
	Aston Martin, Ferarri, Lamborghini's.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MORAZZI AUTO - NIGHT

VINCENTS OFFICE

Vincent is sitting behind his desk. West is sitting next to him. Mike 
is 
sitting in front of both of them. The room is very high class looking 
and 
well decorated.
		
		VINCENT
	The guy I was talking about, Dominiq Gomes 
	he's a small time dope dealer. He has a 
	private beach in front of his house that him 
	and his girlfriend go to almost every night 
	at sunset. The bodyguards stay in the house, 
	mostly and watch them from there so your all 
	good. In and out, all you have to do is pull 
	the trigger and run.
		
		MIKE
	And what about payment?
		
		VINCENT
	How much do you have in mind?
		
		MIKE
	How about thirty thousand. I want half now 
	and half when it's over.
		
		VINCENT
	We have a deal.
		
		MIKE
	When do you need this thing done? I have a 
	full shift or work this week.
		
		VINCENT
	Quit. 
	(a beat)
	I'll call you with the address at six when 
	you get off work. Go a few houses down and 
	sneak into the beach and make your way down. 
	Use the same way to get out and make sure 
	none of the neighbors get a good look at 
	you.
		
		MIKE
	Alright.
			
			CUT TO:

NIGHTMARE: INT. MIKES BEDROOM - NIGHT

Mike is sleeping in his bed. We hear a noise, Mike wakes up and grabs 
the 
gun from under his pillow. He turns his light on. The door opens and 
West 
storms into the room with a pistol and shoots Mike in the arm. West 
shoots 
him in the chest and dives behind the bed. West continues firing 
through 
the bed. Mike reaches his gun up and starts firing, he hits West in the 
head spreading his blood all over the room. Mike sits in a pool of his 
own 
blood.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKES BEDROOM - NIGHT

Mike wakes up from a terribly nightmare in mid-sweat. He turns on the 
nightlight and looks under his pillow, there's no gun. Mike gets up and 
walks over to his bathroom.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - AFTERNOON

Mike walks in where Tommy and the Boss are counting money in the 
register. 
There are no customers in the store.
		
		MIKE
	Hey, I just came here to tell you that i'm 
	quitting. I decided i'm not going to work 
	this summer. Sorry for the short notice.
		
		TOMMY
	Come on, Mike. How are you going to pay for 
	OU?
		
		MIKE
	I'm gonna get a student loan.
		
		BOSS
	Well, Mike. Good luck wherever your life 
	takes you. It's been a pleasure having you 
	work for me.
		
		MIKE
	I'm sure the pleasures all yours.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BAGELS-A-PLENTY - AFTERNOON

Mike walks out of the store and gets into his car. He picks up his cell 
phone and dials a number as he turns the car on.
		
		MIKE
	I'll be there in ten.

Mike hangs up the phone and reverses out of the parking space.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. SHOPPING CENTER - AFTERNOON

Mike's car screeches in front of a pair of pay phones in front of a 
bank. 
Mike parks his car and runs over to the pay phone. He picks up his cell 
phone and dials a number.
		
		MIKE
	I'm there.

Mike hangs up the phone. The pay phone begins to ring. Mike answers it 
and 
waits.
		
		MIKE
	Alright.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. DONATELLI'S PIZZA - AFTERNOON

Mike walks into the small-time Italian restaurant with no one in it 
other 
than chefs. Mike walks up to the counter where a couple of guys are 
making 
pizza's.
		
		MIKE
	I need to speak to Donatelli.

One of the men, TOMA, looks up at Mike.
		
		TOMA
	Follow me.

Toma starts walking toward the back, Mike follows him to an office in 
the 
back. Toma knocks on the door.
		
		TOMA
	Donatelli. It's Toma.
		
		DONATELLI (OS)
	Come in.

Toma opens the door to reveal Donatelli and John sitting behind a desk 
smoking cigars. Mike walks into the room as well.
		
		DONATELLI
	Are you the guy from Miami?
		
		MIKE
	Yes, I am.
		
		DONATELLI
	Vincent tells me good things about you.

Mike doesnt say anything.
		
		DONATELLI (CONT'D)
	Are they true?
		
		MIKE
	That depends.
		
		DONATELLI
	(to John and Toma)
	Gentlemen, excuse me for a few minutes.

Toma and John get up and leave the office. 
		
		DONATELLI
	Have a seat.

Mike sits down in front of Donatelli's desk. Donatelli gets up and 
opens a 
drawer behind his desk. He turns around to reveal a large pistol in one 
hand and another revolver on the other. He fastens the silence on the 
gun 
and checks the barrel, it's full.
		
		DONATELLI (CONT'D)
	There's eight bullets in this sucker, it 
	should be more than enough.

Donatelli hands the revolver to Mike.
		
		DONATELLI (CONT'D)
	Don't fuck this up kid. There are alot of 
	people counting on this thing.
		
		MIKE
	Don't worry.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BEACH - SUNDOWN

DOMONIQ GOMES, in a bathing suit, very tan with slick black hair in a 
pony 
tail. He is sitting on a beach chair next to his pretty GIRLFRIEND who 
is 
laying down as well. We pan up to see a BODYGUARD walking around the 
pool 
area with a machine gun.
		
		GIRLFRIEND
	Are we going out for dinner, Dominiq?
		
		DOMINIQ
	We've gone out everynight this week.
		
		GIRLFRIEND
	Fine, I was just asking.

We see a man walking his dog down the beach. As he gets closer and 
closer 
we realize he is Mike.
		
		GIRLFRIEND
	Look, Dominiq.

Dominiq looks and see's Mike walking his dog.
		
		DOMINIQ
	This is a private beach man!
		
		MIKE
	Oh, i'm sorry.

Mike looks at Dominiq and hesitates.
		
		MIKE (CONT'D)
	I didnt know you could own a beach.
		
		DOMINIQ
	Go back where you came from!

Dominiq lays back down, Mike looks at him. Mike pulls the pistol out of 
his pocket and shoots Dominiq in the chest four times in a row causing 
extensive bleeding.
		
		GIRLFRIEND
	(screaming/crying)
	Oh my --

Mike interrupts her by shooting her in the face. A BODYGUARD peers over 
and see's, Mike shoots him in the chest a few times. He runs back to 
where 
he came from on the beach
			
			CUT TO:

AN OPEN SUITCASE

...with piles of hundred dollar bills. We...
			
			CUT TO:

INT. THE CABANNAH - NIGHT

Mike, Angelo, Donatelli and Vincent are sitting around the table as 
they 
hand the suitcase to Mike.
		
		VINCENT
	(to Angelo)
	The kids spending this money on college can 
	you believe that? 
		
		ANGELO
	Hey don't dissapear we may need you again 
	some time.
		
		MIKE
	Well i'm leaving for Ohio State at the end 
	of the summer
		
		DONATELLI
	I'm guessing that's a college.
		
		ANGELO
	Michigan, Ohio, Kansas. It don't matter 
	where you live. That's why we have 
	airplanes.
		
		MIKE
	I don't know. I mean how often do people 
	need to be...taken care of?

As VINCENT lights up a cigarette.
		
		VINCENT
	(smiling)
	You'd be suprised.
			
			CUT TO:

TV MONITOR

Two teenage girls are talking to the camera. This is the morning 
announcements at Mike's school.
		
		GIRL 1
	Well, Seniors. This is your last pep rally 
	before graduation, congratulations. For 
	everyone that's not graduating good luck on 
	the upcoming exams and good luck seniors!
		
		GIRL 2
	We'll see you at graduation.

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

Mike is sitting amongst a classroom watching the morning announcements. 
He 
has a few flashes of the murdered bodies of Dominiq and his girlfriend.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - AFTERNOON

Mike is sitting in a classroom looking at the beautiful girl Linda who 
is 
trying to pay attention to the TEACHER. Mike looks at the clock, the 
bell 
rings. The whole class gets up putting away their things and leaving 
the 
room. Mike adjusts his speed to meet Linda as they walk out the door.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. CLASSROOM - AFTERNOON

Mike walks out of the classroom as Linda walks down the exit of the 
portable. Mike stops behind linda.
		
		MIKE
	Linda.

Linda turns around, smiling.
		
		MIKE
	What are you doing Friday night?
		
		LINDA
	Nothing.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Mike, Mother and Father are all sitting around the dinner table eating 
as 
usual. Chicken, potatoes and water/coca cola.
		
		MOTHER
	Is graduation on the 28th or the 29th 
	because your school calendar says one thing 
	and your schedule says the other.
		
		MIKE
	It's on the twenty eighth.
		
		FATHER
	Did you get your cap and gown yet?
		
		MIKE
	I'm picking it up tommorow.
		
		MOTHER
	(observing)
	You don't really look excited to be 
	graduating.
		
		MIKE
	(looking at them both)
	Oh, i'm excited.
		
		FATHER
	Mike your mother and I wanted to talk to you 
	about college. We scrapped up enough money 
	to be able to pay for a years tuition for 
	you at FAU.
		
		MIKE
	It's ok dad, really. I scrapped enough money 
	for a years tuition at OU. But i'll take 
	your offer.
		
		MOTHER
	Where did you get thirty thousand dollars 
	Mike? Did you get a raise at work?
		
		MIKE
	Actually I quit working at the bagel store. 
	I found an internship at a car dealership 
	and I get paid four grand a week.
		
		FATHER
	Four grand a week are you? 
	(a beat)
	Well... 
		
		MIKE
	It's one of the top car dealerships in Miami 
	they sell Lamborghini's, Ferarri's and Aston 
	Martins.And i'll go to OU at the end of the 
	summer.
		
		MOTHER
	A car dealership? What do you do for them?
		
		MIKE
	Accounting, mostly.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BEDROOM - LATE AFTERNOON

Mike is sitting on his bed crying as he holds a revolver in his hands. 
He 
checks the chamber and fills it up with bullets. He turns the gun to 
himself and looks as if he might shoot. After a few moments he stops 
crying and starts laughing hysterically.

Mike's cell phone rings, Mike answers it. The phone screen says TOMMY 
CELL 
on the screen.
		
		MIKE
	Hey, Tommy. What's up? Yeah it's on the 
	twenty eighth why, your going? Alright man 
	well i'm going out right now i'll call you 
	tommorow. I'm going to dinner. With this 
	girl chill out, you dont know her. Bye.

Mike hangs up the phone and reaches under his bed and pulls out a 
cardboard box. He opens it to reveal piles of hundred dollar bills.

MONTAGE/MUSIC BEGINS...

Mike takes out a stack of money and stuffs it in his pockets.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MALL - LATE AFTERNOON

Mike is walking through the mall in his grubby clothes, he walks into a 
store called STRUCTURE which we can tell has a very nice clothing by 
the 
displays at the front and the windows.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MALL - MINUTES LATER

Mike walks out of the store with two big bags full of clothes, he 
starts 
walking across the mall.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

Mike puts a nice black collared shirt over his wife beater and puts on 
his 
gold chain. He puts a belt on his pin strip pants and puts on his 
shoes. 
He grabs his wallet and watch from his desk and walks out the door.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Mike walks out into the living room and grabs his keys off of the rack, 
he 
walks over to his parents room where the door is open. He walks up to 
the 
door to reveal them sitting in bed watching TV.
		
		MIKE
	I'm going now. I have my cell.
		
		MOTHER
	Alright, call us when you leave the 
	restaurant alright?
		
		FATHER
	We'll be sleeping.
		
		MIKE
	I'm not calling. Jesus.

Mike walks out of the room, Mother and Father look at eachother.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. LINDA'S HOUSE - NIGHT

The ACURA LEGEND pulls up in front of the nice looking house. Mike gets 
out of the car and opens the door for Linda who is dressed beautifully. 
Mike kisses Linda on the cheek and gets  back to his side of the car. 
The 
car speeds off.

INT. THE CABANNAH - NIGHT

We are at the cabannah. As Mike and Linda sit at a table Angelo and 
Vincent are having drinks at the bar. Mike and Linda have yet to order 
their good.
		
		MIKE
	I've been wanting to ask you out for a few 
	weeks now. I just never really got the 
	chance.
		
		LINDA
	I always noticed you looking at me so I 
	figured you would ask me out.
		
		MIKE
	Really? Why didnt you say something?
		
		LINDA
	I knew you would come around. Can you 
	believe were graduating in a week?
		
		MIKE
	It's all a little much. 
	(a beat)
	Where are you going to school?
		
		LINDA
	Ohio State, my mom went there.
		
		MIKE
	Are you kidding me? I'm going there too.
		
		LINDA
	I thought I was the only one from our 
	school?
		
		MIKE
	Well I got accepted I just didnt place 
	tuition down yet. I'm doing it tommorow.
		
		LINDA
	What are you taking?
		
		MIKE
	I'm taking business management and criminal 
	law. I want to be a lawyer.
		
		LINDA
	I'm taking communications. Is that a 
	coincidence or what?
		
		MIKE
	Yeah. 

A WAITER walks up to the table.
		
		WAITER
	Hello who is everyone doing tonight?
		
		LINDA/MIKE
	Good and you?
		
		WAITER
	Good I'm David i'll be your server tonight 
	can I start you off with something to drink?

INT. MOVIE THEATRE - NIGHT

Linda and Mike are sitting next to eachother in a movie. They are 
seeing 
KILL BILL VOL 2. Linda looks over at Mike who is watching the movie, 
after 
a moment she turns and watches the movie. Mike turns and looks at her, 
after a moment he turns back to the movie and she looks at him.

In an instant he reaches over to her and starts making out with her, he 
starts feeling her up as she grabs him.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. ACURA LEGEND - NIGHT

The car door opens and a hand reaches in and pulls back the seat. Mike 
and 
Linda, while they make out, get into the car and carry it onto the back 
seat. Mike takes Linda's shirt off.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. ACURA LEGEND - MORNING

Mike and Linda are sleeping in the back of the Acura Legend, a loud 
engine 
wakes up Mike who looks at Linda in shock. Mike opens the door to 
reveal 
himself in the movie theatre parking lot.
		
		MIKE
	Holy fuck. 
	(to Linda)
	Linda wake up.

Mike shakes Linda awake.
		
		LINDA
	Oh my god. Are we... 

Linda gets out of the car.
		
		LINDA
	My mom has got to be going insane right now.
		
		MIKE

EXT. LINDA'S HOUSE - MORNING

The Acura Legend pulls up in front of the house as Linda's MOTHER 
stands 
at the door looking worried. The door opens and Linda gets out of the

INT. AUDITORIUM - AFTERNOON

We are at the GRADUATION CEREMONY. The head principal, MCGEE, is 
standing 
behind a podium reading off of a packet of paper. He is surrounded by 
his 
colleagues all in their previous graduation attire as well. A large 
section of the audience is the graduating senior sitting in their cap 
and 
gowns.

Linda and Mike are both in the crowd as both of their parents sit in 
the 
audience. A line of people that have already been announced is forming 
in 
front of the stage.
		
		MCGEE
	Michael Sylva.

Everyone starts applauding. We see Mike's mother and father amongst the 
audience.
		
		FATHER
	Go Mike!

Mike stands up and walks the walk to the podium where he shakes MGEE'S 
hand. MCGEE hands him a certificate.
		
		MCGEE
	Congratulations.
		
		MIKE
	Thankyou.

Mike walks down the steps.
		
		MCGEE
	David Salvatore.

As everyone applauds, Mike joins the others in the line. Mike makes eye 
contact with Linda in the audience who smiles at him.

Mike is sitting across from Vincent in a DENNY'S.  They have yet to 
receive their food.
		
		MIKE
	I need some more work. I sort of, spent a 
	little bit of the money.
		
		VINCENT

		MIKE
	(confused)
	What's perfect?
		
		VINCENT
	I got a job for you. We're gonna fly you out 
	to a job somewhere else.
		
		MIKE
	Where?
		
		VINCENT
	I'll tell you when you get on the plane. 
	It's an easy job.
		
		MIKE
	Who's the target?
		
		VINCENT
	It's a guy witness to something that we dont 
	need a witness to. 
		
		MIKE

INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT

Mike, Mother and Father are sitting at the dinner table eating dinner. 
Mike looks at his Mother and Father.

	My boss at work is flying me to his other 
	shop in Los Angeles to meet the owner of the 
	company. 
	(a beat)
	If i impress him I can have a job waiting 
	for me when I get out of school.
		
		FATHER
	You want to work at a car dealership Mike?
		
		MIKE
	Not work for one, own one.
		
		MOTHER
	Your going to Los Angeles? We're not paying 
	for that that's coming out of your salary at 
	work.
		
		MIKE
	I'm flying on the company jet.
		
		MOTHER
	I need to talk to your boss just to check 
	everything out, alright? What's his name 
	again?
		
		MIKE
	Vincent.

EXT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - MORNING

Vincent is standing at the door in his armani suit waiting at the door. 
A 
LIMOUSINE is waiting downstairs with the driver waiting by the opened 
passanger door. The apartment door opens, Mike and mother are standing 
at 
the door. Mike has a bag with him.
		
		VINCENT
	(smiling)
	Hello. You must be Ms. Sylva? I'm Vincent 
	Morazzi nice to meet you.
		
		MOTHER
	Nice to meet you Vincent.

They shake hands.
		
		MOTHER (CONT'D)
	I just wanted to make sure everything was ok 
	with the trip when am I going to get my son 
	back?
		
		VINCENT
	He'll be back by Sunday, I promise.
		
		MOTHER
	It's just this is my last summer with my son 
	so I dont want him gone too long.
		
		VINCENT
	No problem Ms. Sylva. He's in good hands.

INT. LIMOUSINE - MORNING

Vincent and Mike are sitting in the back of the Limousine, the 
seperator 
is down.
		
		VINCENT
	Your going to Chicago. The targets name is 
	Salvatore LucaBrazzi.

Vincent hands him a picture of him, he's a slim guy.
		
		VINCENT
	You'll do it late at night when he leaves 
	his favorite club. He'll be with one armed 
	body guard. When you get to Chicago i'll 
	call your hotel room and tell you the name 
	of the club.
		
		MIKE
	When do I get the money?
		
		VINCENT
	When West picks you up the suitcase it will 
	be waiting for you. I'm going to New York 
	for a few weeks so I wont be here when you 
	get back. I'll call you from New York if I 
	need something.
		
		MIKE
	My mom thinks i'm gonna be working at the 
	shop all summer.
		
		VINCENT
	Go to your girlfriends house, Linda, right?
		
		MIKE
	Yeah.

The car stops, the DRIVER opens the door. Mike gets out of the car and 
steps out where a private jet is waiting.
		
		VINCENT
	Have a good flight.
		
		MIKE
	Thanks.
		
		VINCENT
	Oh and uh there's a suprise waiting for you 
	in the airplane.

The driver closes the door and Vincent gets back into the car. Mike 
walks 
over to the plane where an ATTENDANT is waiting by the door.
		
		ATTENDANT
	Hello Mr. Sylva.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. PRIVATE JET - AFTERNOON

Mike is sitting in the back of the plane which has several couches and 
a 
widescreen TV. Mike is watching THE RECRUIT as he sips a drink. Mike 
takes 
his pistol out of his pocket and looks at it. We hear a knock at the 
door, 
Mike hides the pistol.
		
		MIKE
	Come in!

The beautiful ATTENDANT walks into the cabin.
		
		ATTENDANT
	Can I help you with anything Mike?
		
		MIKE
	I don't know. What can you do?

We soon realize the ATTENDANT may not be an ATTENDANT.
		
		ATTENDANT
	Mr. Morazzi said everything... 
	(lifting up her shirt)
	Was on the house.
		
		MIKE
	(smiling)
	Did he really?

The attendant walks over to Mike and begins kissing him. He takes her 
skirt off.

INT. HOTEL ROOM - MORNING

Mike is sleeping in bed next to the attendant who is naked. The phone 
begins to ring, Mike answers it groggily.
		
		MIKE
	Hello. Hey Vincent. Alright i'll be there 
	don't worry i'm just sleeping. Yeah she was 
	great. Alright, bye.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BUSY STREETS OF CHICAGO - NIGHT

Mike, in his own suit, is walking down the street which is busy with 
people looking for a party. Mike turns down and alley and approaches a 
parking lot next to a club called "Kitties." Mike walks up the bouncer.
		
		BOUNCER
	What's your name?
		
		MIKE
	Timmy Jacobs.

The bouncer looks at the list and than looks back up at Mike.
		
		BOUNCER
	(curiously)
	Let me see your ID?

Mike takes out his wallet and flashes him his Driver's License that 
suprisingly says Timmy Jacobs.
		
		BOUNCER
	Alright, go in.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. KITTIES - NIGHT

Mike is sitting at the bar pretending to take shots of empty vodka 
glasses. The target, SALVATORE, is sitting at a table next to his 
GIRLFRIEND having dinner. Mike glances over at him.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT

Salvatore and his Girlfriend are walking through the parking lot to the 
ROYLES ROYCE in a special parking slot. Mike is yards behind them 
looking 
around to make sure there is no witnesses. Right before they enter the 
car, Mike pulls out his pistol and puts one bullet in each of their 
heads.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. SHOOTING RANGE - AFTERNOON

Mike is shooting his pistol at the shooting range at a target. West is 
standing right next to him firing as well. They both run out of ammo at 
the same time.
		
		WEST
	The girl that was with Mike was someone 
	importants daughter. If it wasnt for Mike 
	sticking up for you you wouldnt be alive 
	right now.
		
		MIKE
	Are you kidding? How could I leave a witness 
	there? That was the first thing you and 
	Vincent taught me.
		
		WEST
	I know. That's why your still alive. 
		
		MIKE
	No one told me he would be with a 
	girlfriend. All i heard was bodyguard.
		
		WEST
	Don't worry about it. 
		
		MIKE
	I need more work.
		
		WEST
	I thought you already paid off tuition.
		
		MIKE

		WEST
	There's plenty of work to do. But you may

Vincent is laying in a hotel bed next to a beautiful blonde girl who is 
smoking a cigarette. Vincent is on the phone.

	I heard you needed work. I'll be back in 
	town tommorow i'll call you. Alright have a 
	good one.

Vincent hangs up the phone.
		
		VINCENT
	(to girl)

The girl throws her cigarette at him.

	I don't even know if my mom would let me go

		MIKE

INT. LINDA'S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Linda's mother, Mike and Linda are all sitting around the dinner table, 
their food is already in front of them.
		
		MOTHER
	So Michael, I heard your going to Ohio State 
	next year.
		
		MIKE
	You can call me Mike.
		
		MOTHER
	Ok.
		
		MIKE
	Yeah i'm going there to study business 
	management.
		
		MOTHER
	It's a tough school. 
	(looking at Linda)
	You two better do more studying there and 
	less staying out until 7 in the morning.
		
		MIKE
	That was an accident, really.
		
		LINDA
	Mom, can we talk about something else, other 
	than college?
		
		MOTHER
	(to Mike)
	What kind of business do you want to run 
	after college?
		
		MIKE
	Some kind of auto-related business, i'm 
	interning right now at a car dealership.
		
		MOTHER
	What do you do there?
		
		MIKE
	Sales and accounting. It pays good.
		
		MOTHER
	Would you ever be interested in designing 
	cars, I hear there's alot of money in that.
		
		LINDA
	(to mother)

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

Mike is in his bedroom sitting on his couch holding his cell phone up 
to 
his ear.
		
		MIKE
	The attendant stripper thing, you cant do 
	that this time. My girlfriends coming along. 
	Yeah don't worry i'll send her shopping. She 
	won't interfere I promise. I'll call you.

INT. PRIVATE JET - MORNING

Mike is sitting on the couch watching the satelitte tv changing the 
channels. Linda is looking around in amazement.
		
		LINDA
	This is unbelieveable. Why does this guy in 
	LA like meeting you all the time.
		
		MIKE
	I'm consulting him on a business deal.
		
		LINDA
	So you get... 
	(looking around)
	...this.
		
		MIKE
	You know there's a bed in the back.

Linda looks at Mike and smiles.

CABIN

Mike and Linda are making out in the bed as they take off each others 
clothes. They bring it under the covers.

Linda is sitting on the couch in the hotel suite as she watches the 
news 
on tv. Mike walks into the room wearing a suit, Linda looks at him

	I have to go to a meeting with the boss 
	there was an emergency with the deal.
		
		LINDA
	It's eleven oclock at night.
		
		MIKE
	I'm sorry Linda. That's why i'm here. I 
	promise i'll make it up to you.

Mike walks over to Linda and kisses her.
		
		MIKE
	I'll be back soon.

INT. APARTMENT BUILDING - NIGHT

Mike walks up to the door of an apartment building and knocks on it. He 
blocks the peep hole, the door opens to reveal a woman.
		
		WOMAN
	Can I help you?

Mike pulls out his pistol and shoots the woman in the face, he opens 
the 
door where ELIE HEMEY is smoking a cigar on the couch.
		
		ELIE
	Holy --

Mike shoots Elie in the chest a few times. The toilet flushes and out 
comes Elie's BODYGUARD who is caught unarmed. The man reaches for his 
holster but Mike puts a bullet in his face. 

Mike looks at all the bodies and walks out fo the hotel room, we follow 
him down the hallway.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. VINCENT'S MIAMI ESTATE - MORNING

Vincent, West and Mike are all sitting outside of Vincent's house where 
the pool, barbecue and ocean are. They are all drinking champagne or 
wine. 
There is a suitcase on the table.
		
		VINCENT
	You know, Mike. With all the work you've 
	been doing for us the boss wants to meet 
	you.
		
		MIKE
	Are you kidding me?
		
		VINCENT
	He wants to personally thank you for 
	everything you've done for us.
		
		MIKE
	That's nice.
		
		VINCENT
	How was LA?
		
		MIKE
	It was nice. 
		
		VINCENT
	The guy that was with Hemey was one of the 
	reigning bosses in LA. He was a real enemy 
	of my boss.
		
		MIKE
	That's good than. I'm going to Ohio in a few 
	weeks, for good.
		
		VINCENT
	That's no problem. You can still work for us 
	we'll have the plane pick you up in Ohio or 
	wherever you are.
		
		MIKE
	That's convenient. How many more people can 
	I kill without getting caught?
		
		VINCENT
	I dont know. That's up to you. The question 
	is, how much money can you make for killing 
	the most amount of people.
		
		WEST
	I still don't understand why your going to 
	college in Ohio of all the places you could 
	go.
		
		VINCENT
	(to West)
	At least he's going to college and doing 
	something productive with his life. Give him 
	a break. 
	(to Mike, laughing)
	You'll be the smartest fucking hitman the 
	world ever knew.

Mike starts laughing and West joins in.

INT. MIKE'S BEDROOM - AFTERNOON

Linda is sitting on the chair looking toward the bed. She see's the 
corner 
of a suitcase sticking out from under the bed. She curiously walks over 
and takes out the suitcase, she opens it. It is full of stacks of 
money.

Mike walks into the room and see's her looking at the money.
		
		LINDA
	What is this? How did you get all of this 
	money?
		
		MIKE
	From work.
		
		LINDA
	Don't lie to me, Mike. I know you don't go 
	to the car dealership.
		
		MIKE
	Linda, please just forget about this.

We hear a knock at the door.
		
		MOTHER
	Mike, I need to talk to you for a minute.
		
		MIKE
	Give me the suitcase.

Linda hands it to him, he throws it under the bed and answers the door. 
Mother walks in.
		
		MOTHER
	(observing)
	Is everything alright?
		
		MIKE
	Yeah, what do you need to talk about?
		
		MOTHER
	I just wanted to let you know that your 
	registered for next year. I just got the 
	letter.
		
		MIKE
	That's great mom.
		
		MOTHER
	I'll leave you too alone.

The mother leaves and closes the door, Linda looks at Mike.
		
		LINDA
	What do you do to get this money? If you 
	don't tell me, i'm leaving.

Mike sits down on the couch next to Linda.
		
		MIKE

	(sighing)
	Linda I can't tell you what I do, i'm sorry.

	What could possibly be this secretive? Are 
	you selling drugs?
		
		MIKE
	No, Linda. Listen, my family isnt rich like 
	yours. I had to pay for college by myself. 
	No help. I didn't pay tuition by working at

Mike stands up and looks at Linda, he reaches for her hand.

Mike and Linda are sitting in the car as it drives down the road. Mike 
is 
trying to gain the confidence or gut to say something. In a second Mike 
turns the car and parks it, he looks at Linda.
		
		MIKE
	Before I tell you this you have to promise 
	you won't tell anyone. I'm a theif. I steal 
	money or things of value from people.
		
		LINDA
	What people?
		
		MIKE
	Anyone that's worth robbing. I never rob 
	people in Florida my boss flies me out of 
	town.
		
		LINDA
	That's why we went to LA?
		
		MIKE
	Yes, that's why we went to LA.
		
		LINDA
	But your eighteen? Your parents arent that 
	poor.
		
		MIKE
	I had to pay for college somehow.
		
		LINDA
	Mike.

Linda reaches over and kisses Mike.
		
		LINDA
	You didnt have to lie to me.
		
		MIKE
	I didn't think you'd understand.

Linda smiles and they both continue making out.

INT. COMMERCIAL AIRPLANE - AFTERNOON

Mike, for the first time, is sitting in a commercial airplane next to 
Linda who is sleeping. Mike is reading a magazine.

EXT. OHIO AIRPORT - NIGHT

Mike and Linda walk out of the airport with all their luggage and wait 
in 
front of the bagagge terminal. A taxi approaches them.
		
		MIKE
	Taxi!

Mike raises his hand, the taxi pulls over.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. TAXI - NIGHT

Mike and Linda are sitting in the back of the taxi.
		
		LINDA
	Wow. I have like a rush, being away from my 
	mom... 
	(a beat)
	Being with you...

Mike kisses Linda and they begin making out.
		
		DRIVER
	No sex in my taxi cab.
		
		MIKE
	(laughing)
	What if we pay you extra?
		
		DRIVER
	I don't think so. Do you guys know what dorm 
	i'm taking you too.
		
		MIKE
	We rented an apartment I have the address 
	somewhere.

Mike opens his wallet and takes out a piece of paper.

INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT

The apartment is very dark. The door opens and lets in light, Mike and 
Linda walk into the apartment and turn the light on. There is a living 
room, a kitchen and a bedroom. It is already furnished.
		
		LINDA
	It's perfect.
		
		MIKE
	We're lucky we don't have to be in those 
	shitty dorms. 
	(a beat)
	Where's the shower?

Linda walks into the bedroom.
		
		LINDA
	It's in here.

Mike looks around and than walks into the bedroom.
		
		MIKE
	I'll go out tommorow morning and get us food 
	and whatever else we need.
		
		LINDA
	I need to pick up a car in town tommorow can 
	you drive me?
		
		MIKE
	Of course. 
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

There are probably a hundred or so students in the classroom. Mike is 
in 
the class taking notes on what the teacher is saying as he has flashes 
in 
his mind of the murders he has commited. He gets up, gathers his things 
and begins walking out of the class.
		
		PROFESSOR
	Class is over in an hour, sir.

Mike continues walking as the door slams in our face.
		
		PROFESSOR (CONT'D)
	That was rude. Anyway, you'll have a midterm 
	exam in December which will cover all my 
	notes and lectures so it would do you best 
	to actually show up to class.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Mike and Linda are sitting on the couch watching a movie with drinks in 
front of them.
		
		MIKE
	I'm going to L.A next week.
		
		LINDA
	Arent you going to be missing class?
		
		MIKE
	No i'm only flying there for the day.
		
		LINDA
	Can I come with you?
		
		MIKE
	I don't think so. It's a little too 
	dangerous.
		
		LINDA
	Too dangerous for me and not for you?
		
		MIKE
	Linda, it's business. What can I say?
		
		LINDA
	Alright it's fine. I probably have class 
	that day anyways.

After a few moments of silence.
		
		MIKE
	One day we'll got to LA ourselves. No 
	business involved, just not right now.
		
		LINDA
	(smiling)
	Is that a promise?
		
		MIKE
	Yeah, sure. 
	(smiling)
	It's a promise.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. AIRPORT BAR - NIGHT

No one is in the bar accept for the bartender, a passed out drunk man 
and 
Vincent and Mike who are in isolation.
		
		VINCENT
	Your flight leaves in an hour.

Vincent takes a shot of whiskey.
		
		MIKE
	What could possibly be in Kansas? 
		
		VINCENT
	The target. Benito Mazarelli, he's in the 
	witness protection program.
		
		MIKE
	Doesnt that mean, he'll be... 
	(a beat)
	Protected?
		
		VINCENT
	The whole point of the witness protection 
	program is to live a low key life while 
	attracting as little attention as possible. 
	He has no bodyguards, no surveillence, no 
	nothing.
		
		MIKE
	Alright, you got an address or what?
		
		VINCENT
	He works at the post office. Get him when 
	he's leaving work. Listen I talked to the 
	boss about you girlfriend Linda coming along 
	a few months ago... 
	(a beat)
	He doesn't want you doing that anymore, it's 
	dangerous.
		
		MIKE
	I know, that's why I didn't bring her on 
	this trip.
		
		VINCENT
	Good, she doesnt know what you do, right?
		
		MIKE
	No, she thinks i'm a car salesman.
		
		VINCENT
	(laughing)
	Good. 
		
		MIKE
	So i'll call you from Kansas?
		
		VINCENT
	Find a payphone and call me with the 
	number. 

Vincent stands up and looks at his watch.
		
		VINCENT (CONT'D)
	I'm late for a meeting.
		
		MIKE
	Alright.
		
		VINCENT
	Have a good trip.

Vincent walks out of the bar. Mike takes a shot of whiskey and pays the 
bartender. He gets up, grabs his jacket and leaves.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. PRIVATE JET - NIGHT

Mike is sitting in the private jet, two beautiful blonde girls walk 
into 
the cabin and sit next to Mike. One of the girls takes out a box and 
opens 
it.
		
		GIRL 
	Do you do blow?

Mike looks as the girl pours powder onto the table.
		
		MIKE
	No I don't do drugs.
		
		GIRL
	Come on, it's fun.

One of the girls does a line, the other girl begins kissing Mike.
		
		MIKE
	Well, this is more fun.

The girl takes her shirt off as Mike kisses her.
		
		PILOT (LOUDSPEAKER)
	We're coming in for our decent to Kansas 
	arrival time thirty minutes.
		
		MIKE

	Could you put the drugs away. I don't want 
	to get fucking arrested when we land.

	No one ever comes on the plane.
		
		MIKE
	You never know.

	Vincent said you make alot of money.
		
		GIRL 2
	He also said you were smart.
		
		MIKE

EXT. STREET - AFTERNOON

We are on a dark street in Kansas. Mike is sitting in a rented car in 
front of a post office. A man comes out of the post office, BENITO 
Mazzarelli, who is walking with his post office buddy, CARL. 
		
		BENITO
	You and the kids should come over for dinner 
	sometime. We're doing a big barbecue on 
	Sunday.
		
		CARL
	Sounds great, the games on Friday.
		
		BENITO
	I'll have my wife give your wife a call, see 
	you Carl.
		
		CARL
	See ya.

Carl gets into his car, Benito gets into his VOLVO. The VOLVO reverses 
and 
exits the parking lot, Mike's car follows it. The car heads down the 
road 
for a while and stops at a stop light. Mike pulls up next to him and 
gets 
out of the car. 

He sneaks up from the back, pulls out his pistol and puts four bullets 
in 
Benito's face before he can utter a sound. Mike rushes back into his 
car 
and drives off.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. WEST'S APARTMENT (MIAMI) - AFTERNOON

West and Mike are sitting across from eachother at a dinner table but 
they 
arent eating. Mike is in warm weather attire.
		
		MIKE
	I'm only in Miami for a few days. I have to 
	go see my parents, visit a few friends. You 
	know how it is.

After West gives Mike a look of "No I don't"
		
		WEST
	Why do you do what you do, Mike?
		
		MIKE
	The money, strictly.
		
		WEST
	You mean to tell me you don't take any 
	pleasure in taking another persons life.
		
		MIKE
	None whatsoever. Sometimes I feel...

		WEST
	I know how it is. You know alot of the guys 
	in the Morazzi family have been flipping, 
	there's gonna be alot of work coming up. 
	Vincent's gonna need you.
		
		MIKE
	Well, you can take a load off of me?
		
		WEST
	You see, I cant. I got responsibilites down 
	here in Miami.
		
		MIKE
	Well, i'm going to college. Vincent's got 
	plenty of guys that can kill.
		
		WEST
	You see thats what you dont understand. Your 
	special in some odd way. There's a profile 
	for a morazzi assasin and you dont fit the 
	profile. 
	(a beat)
	That's why Vincent loves you.
		
		MIKE
	Really? I thought it was because of my 
	personality.

Mike smiles, West starts laughing.
		
		WEST
	Listen I got you something, it's sort of a 
	going away present since your doing the Ohio 
	thing now going to college.

West takes a long wooden case out from under the table. He puts it 
ontop 
of the table and opens it to reveal a large sniper rifle.
		
		MIKE
	West, I don't know how to use this thing.
		
		WEST
	It's easy, make sure the red dot is on the 
	mother fucker's head.
		
		MIKE
	Thankyou. 
		
		WEST
	With this thing your targets wont even see 
	you half the time.

Mike picks up the rifle and looks at it.
		
		MIKE
	This thing must of been expensive. I'll give 
	you the money.
		
		WEST
	No, it aint no thing. 
		
		MIKE
	I got to go to my parents house can I keep 
	this here until I go?
		
		WEST
	Yeah sure. Don't mind if I take it out for a 
	night on the town.
		
		MIKE
	I wont.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Linda is sitting on the couch watching television. The phone begins to 
ring, she reaches over and answers it.
		
		LINDA
	Hey Mike. Why havent you called me all day 
	are you alright?

On the phone we can hear Mike's replies.
		
		MIKE (OS)
	Yeah I'm fine. I'm getting on the plane 
	right now to come home. What are you doing?
		
		LINDA
	Just watching tv. I'm bored.

We pan from the living room to the table where there are several empty 
beer bottles sitting.
		
		MIKE (OS)
	You sound like your drunk.
		
		LINDA
	No, i'm just tired.

Linda takes another sip of the beer.
		
		MIKE (OS)
	Alright I should be there in a couple hours, 
	I love you.
		
		LINDA
	Love you too.

Linda hangs up the phone.

INT. PRIVATE JET - NIGHT

Mike is sitting in the cabin taking a shot of vodka. He turns on some 
real 
loud JIMI HENDRIX. He falls on his bed and passes out.

INT. PRIVATE JET - NIGHT

A stewardist is shaking Mike awake.
		
		STEWARDIST
	Mr. Sylva. Your plane has landed.

Mike eventually wakes up, wasted.
		
		MIKE
	What? What plane?

Mike wakes up and looks around.
		
		MIKE
	Where am I?
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. AIRPORT - NIGHT

We are next to the PRIVATE JET as Mike talks on a cell phone. The two 
pilots and two stewardists are walking away with their carry on 
luggage.
		
		MIKE
	(into phone)
	The limo didnt show up, my flight was late 
	can you come pick me up? 
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Linda is sitting on the couch, a bunch of empty beer bottles are 
sitting 
on the table in front of the tv.
		
		LINDA
	Yeah... 
	(struggling)
	I'll be there soon. Love you.

Linda hangs up the phone and tries to stand up. She stumbles over and 
grabs the keys off of a rack.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CAR - NIGHT

Linda is about to make a turn, she makes a right turn but turns on the 
wrong signal. She leaves it on and continues down the road. She looks 
at 
her watch and starts going faster. A bright light shines in her eyes 
and 
she can't see, she turns and gets into the wrong lane.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

Linda's car does a 360 and the other car swirves. The driver falls out 
of 
the car and tries to move.
		
		DRIVER
	Somebody help!
			
			CUT TO:

INT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT

Mike is sitting in a large room full of people who are waiting to be 
treated for various emergencies. A nurse with a clipboard walks up to 
the 
very nervous looking Mike.
		
		NURSE
	Michael Svenning?
		
		MIKE
	Yes.
		
		NURSE
	We lost Linda in surgery a few minutes ago 
	from internal bleeding. I'm sorry about your 
	loss. 

Mike's eyes start to water but he doesnt cry.
		
		NURSE
	We couldn't do anything.
		
		MIKE
	Are you... 
	(a beat)
	Are you kidding me? Are you fucking kidding 
	me? 
	(a beat)
	She's dead?
		
		NURSE
	I'm sorry Mr. Svenning but there's no need 
	for you to curse at me.
		
		MIKE
	Oh my god.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. CEMETARY (MIAMI, FL) - MORNING

On the grass a casket is sitting. A group of maybe fifty people are 
standing around the casket as a preist speaks but we can only hear 
music. 
Mike is amongst the audience with his mother and father, he is trying 
hard 
not to cry.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Mike, Mother and Father are sitting at the dinner table. Mike isnt 
eating 
but his parents are. They look at him with a look of sorrow.
		
		MIKE
	I'm going back to Ohio tommorow, I start 2nd 
	semester in a few days.
		
		MOTHER
	Listen, Mike. I know your very sad about 
	Linda and so are we, she was a very nice 
	girl. But you can't let this ruin your life.

Mike looks at his mother and father.
		
		FATHER
	Melissa he has the right to be angry right 
	now, he just lost his girlfriend.
		
		MOTHER
	I never said you couldnt be sad Mike, I just 
	want you to keep your head up.

Mike looks up to his mother with confidence.
		
		MIKE
	Mom, i'm fine.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Mike is sitting on his couch not crying, but tears have been dropping 
down 
his eyes. He is taking a sip from a large bottle of whiskey as he looks 
at 
a snowy television set.
		
		MIKE
	(to himself)
	Why am I... 
	(a beat)
	...so fucking unlucky.

Mike rubs his hands through his hair as his eyes tear. Mike gets up 
from 
the couch and walks over to his bedroom. We follow him into his closet 
where he opens a drawer and takes out a pistol. He loads it with one 
bullet and points it to his head.
		
		MIKE
	(to himself)
	I can't be unlucky... 
	(a beat)
	If i'm dead.

Mike pulls the trigger but no bullets come out. Mike opens the chamber 
to 
reveal the bullet in the same spot.
		
		MIKE
	(to himself)
	No fucking way.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Mike is laying in his bed looking up at the ceiling. He has a few 
flashes 
in his mind of being with Linda, her beautiful smile. The phone begins 
to 
ring annoyingly, Mike reaches over to answer.
		
		MIKE
	(into phone)
	Yeah. Alright I can be there in... 
	(looking at watch)
	An hour.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. PRIVATE JET - NIGHT

Mike and Vincent are sitting in the cabin of the jet across from 
eachother. Mike looks like shit, Vincent looks at the top of his game.
		
		VINCENT
	I got a promotion from the big guy if it 
	means anything to you. Mainly because of 
	you.
		
		MIKE
	(not impressed)
	I'm happy for you. 
	(a beat)
	Does that mean i'm getting paid more?
		
		VINCENT
	(slightly laughing)
	No. 
	(getting serious)
	I'm very sorry about your loss Mike. But 
	your life isnt over. 
	(a beat)
	You look like shit.
		
		MIKE
	I feel like shit.

Mike rubs his hands through his hair, a sign of stress.
		
		VINCENT
	Do you think you could do a job for me in 
	Atlantic City next weekend? Releive some of 
	that stress.
		
		MIKE
	I'm thinking of taking a little break.
		
		VINCENT
	There's no taking breaks in this business, 
	Mike. 
	(a beat)
	It doesnt work like that.
		
		MIKE
	Don't you feel bad at all, I loved that 
	girl. Don't you understand? Havent you ever 
	loved anyone before?
		
		VINCENT
	Of course. 
	(a beat)
	Come on Mike it's almost fifty grand.
		
		MIKE
	For now, i'm out of the game. Plus, West is 
	better than me anyway, right?
		
		VINCENT
	West is black, the boss doesnt like him very 
	much. He has too much attitude, but you. You 
	have a reputation in New York, you'd be 
	suprised. Your like a fucking legend.
		
		MIKE
	Vincent. I appreciate everything you've done 
	for me. If it wasnt for you, I couldn't have 
	gone to the college of my choice. And i'm 
	eternally grateful for that, but right now, 
	I got shit to work out in my head before I 
	can start working again.
		
		VINCENT
	I understand. Just give me a call. 
	(a beat)
	When your ready.
		
		MIKE
	I'll see ya around.

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - AFTERNOON

Mike comes out of his room and opens the fridgerator which only has a 
container of mayonaise. He opens the freezer which is also empty other 
than a small container of ice cream. Mike slams the door.
			
			CUT TO:

BEDROOM

Mike pulls a suitcase out from under the bed, unlike the other 
suitcases 
there are only a few piles of money left.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. GROCERY STORE - AFTERNOON

Mike is waiting in line as the lady at the cash register zaps 
everything 
on the conveyor belt. Mike is shocked by how very expensive everything 
is.

INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Mike is sitting on the couch watching the news as he sips the final sip 
of 
his vodka bottle. He realizes it is empty and throws it against the 
wall.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

Mike is sitting in a classroom with maybe 100 students in it as a 
PROFESSOR stands at the front of the room, lecturing. Mike is trying to 
jto down everything the teacher says.
		
		PROFESSOR
	Your midterm exam covers everything in all 
	of my notes and all of my lectures, if you 
	missed anything, too bad.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Mike and West are sitting across from eachother as West smokes a 
cigarette 
and Mike drinks a cocktail.
		
		WEST
	I don't know how you put up with this cold 
	weather bullshit.
		
		MIKE
	You get used to it after a while.

West takes another puff off his cigarette.
		
		WEST
	So I heard your taking a break now. I guess 
	that sniper rifle will have to wait to be de-
	virginized.
		
		MIKE
	If you want it back you can have it.
		
		WEST
	No, it's yours. How you been since the uh... 
	(a beat)
	The whole thing with your girl. I'm really 
	sorry about that whole thing I was on in 
	Tokyo on the day of the meeting.
		
		MIKE
	Don't worry about it, I mean, you didnt even 
	know her.
		
		WEST
	Yeah, but it's principal.
		
		MIKE
	Fuck principal.
		
		WEST
	So how's life in college? 
	(looking around the apartment)
	It doesnt look as good as it does on TV.
		
		MIKE
	I havent really met anyone yet. I've sort of 
	been alone these past few months.
		
		WEST
	Go out and meet people Mike, that's what 
	college is all about, man. 
	(a beat)
	I mean...I never went but i've heard from 
	other people.
		
		MIKE
	I don't need to meet anyone. I didn't go to 
	college to fucking meet people.
		
		WEST
	That's because your drunk half the time. Do 
	you go to class drunk, too. What is this?
		
		MIKE
	No, of course not. 
	(suprised)
	What do you think, i'm an alcoholic or 
	something.

West looks at the cocktail and Mike's circled eyes.
		
		WEST
	It's a possibility.

INT. HONDA ACCORD - AFTERNOON

Mike is driving through the school parking lot, he finds an empty place 
and parks. He pulls a bottle of vodka from the passenger seat and takes 
a 
swig. He puts it back and gets out of the car, he grabs his notebook 
from 
the trunk.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - AFTERNOON

Mike is sitting among the audience looking at the camera.
		
		PROFESSOR (OS)
	Your exam is on Thursday do not be late or 
	you will not be allowed to take the exam. 
	Happy studying. Class is dismissed.

Everyone stands up and makes there way to the door, Mike eventually 
catches on.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

BEDROOM

Mike opens the suitcase to reveal one stack of hundreds left, he grabs 
it 
and walks out of his room.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Mike is sitting at his couch reading notes from a PSYCHOLOGY class 
studying for an exam. A 1/4 empty bottle of vodka is sitting on the 
table. 
Mike puts down the notebook and takes a sip of vodka, he continues 
studying. He rubs his hands through his hair one more time and sighs.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BEACH - DAY

Mike is sitting on an empty beach in a bathing suit, by himself. He is 
looking out into the water, people start running toward him. All his 
victims, as they run at him he shoots them with his revolver. Linda 
comes 
running but he drops his gun.
		
		MIKE
	Linda.

She smiles and runs toward him, she pulls out a pistol and shoots him 
in 
the chest. He falls over.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM - MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

Mike wakes up from being passed out on the couch in front of his vodka 
and 
exam notes. He is sweating as he looks panicked.
		
		MIKE
	Oh my god. My exam.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

Mike is taking an exam on a scantron as he flips through a large packet 
of 
paper. He does not look sure of himself, the farther he goes through 
the 
test the more aggrivated he looks.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. KITCHEN - AFTERNOON

Mike is looking at empty fridge as he holds the hand held phone up to 
his 
ear. There are still a few more bottles of liquor on the counter.
		
		MIKE
	(into phone)
	Mom I just need some cash, for food and 
	stuff like that. 
	(a beat)
	I have too much studying to have a job, come 
	on. 
	(aggrivated)
	I just told you, I can't. Hello? Mom?

Mike hangs up the phone and throws it at the wall.
		
		MIKE
	Fuck!
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. MCDONALDS - AFTERNOON

Mike pulls up to the drive thru window as a man in a mcdonalds uniform 
stands at a register.
		
		WORKER
	That's six seventy three.

Mike takes out his wallet where there's one one hundred dollar bill 
left, 
he hands it to the man.
		
		WORKER
	Sorry sir the most we can take is a twenty.
		
		MIKE
	You mean to tell me you dont have ninenty 
	three dollars in the whole fucking place?
		
		WORKER
	That's not it sir, it's policy.
		
		MIKE
	(aggrivated)
	Where's the closest bank?
		
		WORKER
	It's about a half an hour down that road 
	it's a city bank.
		
		MIKE
	A half an hour? Jesus.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - MORNING

BEDROOM

Mike is actually sleeping in his bed this time, his alarm begins to 
ring. 
He wakes up and opens his shades. He puts on a robe and walks out of 
the 
apartment.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - MORNING

Mike walks out the door and over to the mail compartments. He uses his 
small key to open it and takes out a few envelopes. One of them says 
UNIVERSITY OF OHIO.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S LIVING ROOM - MORNING

Mike is sitting on the couch as he reads the letter. The first page 
shows 
his midterm grades which for the most part are not good at all, C's and 
B's mostly and one D. On the second page is a request for next years 
tuition. Mike specifically notices this.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. THE CABANNAH - AFTERNOON

It is a bright sunny day in Florida as Vincent, Angelo, Jimmy and 
Salvatore all sit around a card table playing poker. A cell phone rings 
which appears to be Vincent's. It says MIKE on the screen so he stands 
up 
from the table.
		
		VINCENT
	This will only take a second, keep the game 
	going.

Vincent walks over to the side where no one can hear him, he answers 
the 
phone.
		
		VINCENT
	What's up?
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S LIVING ROOM - MORNING

Mike is sitting on his couch holding the phone up to his ear.
		
		MIKE
	I need work. 
			
			CUT TO:

INT. WEST'S APARTMENT (MIAMI) - NIGHT

Vincent, Mike and West are sitting around the table.
		
		VINCENT
	The job is in Canada, it's a guy that took 
	off when things got rough. The guy is 
	heavily protected which is why both of 
	you'se are going.
		
		MIKE
	How protected? Bodyguards?
		
		VINCENT
	He has three body guards that travel with 
	him during the day, five at night.
		
		WEST
	Where are we hitting him?
		
		VINCENT
	He goes hunting with his brother every 
	Saturday in the woods by his house. From 
	what I know, that's your best shot.
		
		MIKE
	So we're going hunting.
		
		WEST
	Looks like we might need that rifle after 
	all.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. WOODS - DAY

The woods are snowy and the sky is foggy. There is no sun in sight as a 
large man, THE BULL, and his brother PEEPS walk through the woods with 
their rifles and hunting gear.
		
		THE BULL
	Whoever gets the least amount of deer is 
	paying for dinner tonight.
		
		PEEPS
	I havent seen one deer yet.
		
		THE BULL
	You have to be patient, Peeps. This sport is 
	all about patience.
		
		PEEPS
	Since when is hunting a real sport?
		
		THE BULL
	What is it, a fake sport?

A deer runs by, the BULL aims and shoots at him. The bull turns around 
and 
see's West aiming a sniper rifle at him. Boom! A LARGE BULLET fires 
hitting the BULL right in between the eys. Peeps takes off firing a few 
rounds of his rifle toward the vicinity of Mike and West.

Mike aims his sniper rifle as he is running and shoots Peeps in the 
leg. 
Mike and West run up to PEEPS who fires a shot at West hitting him in 
the 
hand, West lets out a scream.
		
		WEST
	Mother fucker!

West takes his rifle and smashes PEEPS over the head with it, Peeps 
falls 
further and drops the gun in pain. We hear some dogs barking and see 
some 
bodyguards in the distance, approaching.
		
		MIKE
	Are you alright? 
	(a beat)
	West, come on let's go.
		
		WEST
	(in pain)
	My fucking hand. 
	(running)
	Shit.

Mike fires his rifle into PEEPS head splattering blood everywhere. Some 
of 
the bodyguards fire their pistols toward Mike and West as they run off. 
West is holding his hand screaming.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. WOODS - DAY

Mike and West come running out of the woods onto a main road which is 
currently empty. Mike and West get into a parked DURANGO and speeds off 
to 
the sound of pistol shots.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. DURANGO - DAY

Mike is driving as West holds his hand which is covered in blood and a 
huge hole in the middle. West is screaming as Mike looks more panicked 
as 
ever.
		
		WEST
	Don't call an ambulance we're going to the 
	fucking airport.
		
		MIKE
	You got shot in the fucking hand West your 
	going to a hospital.
		
		WEST
	They'll link us to the murder, Mike. Don't 
	forget, me and you, we're never where we 
	are. 
		
		MIKE
	You better not fucking kill me for this.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. PRIVATE JET - NIGHT

As very amusing TECHNO MUSIC plays we watch Mike catatonically staring 
at 
a MEDIC and a STEWARDIST disinfecting and bandaging West's hand. For 
some 
odd reason the cabin is toned red.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

PILE OF MONEY

We pan back revealing: A large pile of money is sitting on Mike's 
dinner 
table as he sits at the table smiling at the money. He grabs a stack 
and 
his coat from the rack and walks out the door.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. COLLEGE BAR - NIGHT

The bar is filled with beautiful girls getting drunk and guys who are 
already drunk. Mike walks into the bar and sits down, the bar tender is 
busy at the moment socializing. The bar tender looks to Mike who raises 
his hand, the bar tender walks over
		
		BAR TENDER
	I need to see some ID, first.

Mike takes out an identification card that barely looks like him and 
says 
Barry Manishewitz from Arkansas.
		
		BAR TENDER
	What can I get you, Barry?
		
		MIKE
	Four shots of vodka and sky on the rocks 
	mixed with cranberry juice.
		
		BAR TENDER
	Are you expecting someone?
		
		MIKE
	(looking to his sides)
	Does it look like i'm expecting someone?

The bar tender starts getting the drinks together as Mike looks around, 
most of the people are in groups.
		
		MIKE
	Hey can you save my seat I have to go take a 
	piss.
		
		BAR TENDER
	Yeah, sure.

Mike stands up and walks toward the bathroom, BILLY, who is drunk 
almost 
intentionally bumps into him. Billy pushes Mike up against the wall, 
Billy's friends Sam and Dave walk over.
		
		MIKE
	Watch where your going.

Mike pushes Billy into the wall hard, Dave chokes Mike as Sam punches 
him 
in the stomach.
		
		BILLY
	Hey, stop! Not in the bar.

Mike pushes the two of them off of him.
		
		BILLY
	(to Mike)
	You wanna go outside?

Mike looks over at his drinks that are waiting for him.
		
		MIKE
	Get the fuck out of my way.

Mike walks to the bathroom and enters. Billy, Dave and Sam all look at 
eachother.
		
		SAM
	Come on let's fuck that kid up.
		
		BILLY
	We come here alot I don't want to get banned 
	from this bar, too.
		
		DAVE
	(to Sam)
	He's got a point.
		
		BILLY
	We can hang around until he leaves, than, 
	it's a different story.
			
			CUT TO:

MINUTES LATER

Mike is sitting at the bar as he finishes a shot of vodka. He shakes 
his 
head quickly and looks around the spinning room. Some people are 
laughing, 
smoking, drinking. Mike looks down and all his drinks are empty.
		
		BAR TENDER (OS)
	(blurry)
	I think you've had enough, Barry.

Mike shakes his head and looks at the bar tender.
		
		MIKE
	What?
		
		BAR TENDER
	I think you've had enough.
		
		MIKE
	I think your right.

Mike takes out his wallet and puts a fifty on the table.
		
		MIKE (CONT'D)
	Keep the change.

Mike gets up and stumbles to walk out of the bar.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

Mike walks out of the noisy bar and walks down the street toward his 
HONDA 
ACCORD which is parallel parked. Sam, Dave and Billy walk out of the 
bar 
and see Mike walking.
		
		BILLY
	There he is. Alright, be quiet.

They all start quickly walking towards Mike, he opens the door to his 
car 
only to get his head smashed into the car. Mike turns and Billy sticks 
him 
in the face a few times before he falls down. Sam kicks him in the 
chest a 
few times.
		
		DAVE
	Who's the mother fucker now?

Dave kicks him in the face.
		
		DAVE (CONT'D)
	(smiling)
	Don't come back to this bar, ever. 
	(to Billy)
	Come on Billy, break his ribs.
		
		BILLY
	Come on let's go. He's bleeding too much 
	already.

Sam spits on Mike who has fallen to the ground coughing blood.
		
		BILLY
	Come on.

The three of them run away, Mike turns over to reveal a very bloody 
face 
and a torn up attire.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. COLLEGE BAR - AFTERNOON

The BARTENDER from the other night is walking out of the bar toward his 
parked car. Mike's car stops abruptly, Mike gets out of the car and 
walks 
toward the bar tender. We notice the scars and bruises on Mike's face.
		
		MIKE
	You remember me from the other night, I was 
	at the bar.
		
		BAR TENDER
	Yeah, what's up?
		
		MIKE
	There were three kids there that night, one 
	of there names was Billy.
		
		BAR TENDER
	Yeah there all regulars at the bar, real 
	jerkoffs if you ask me.
		
		MIKE
	Do you know where I could find them?
		
		BAR TENDER
	I could find out, but it will cost you.
		
		MIKE
	How much?
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. COLLEGE BAR - NIGHT

Mike is sitting in his car as Billy and the same two guys walk out of 
the 
bar. They say goodbye and Billy goes his separate way as he lights up a 
cigarette. Mike quietly gets out of the car holding a baseball bat and 
walks quickly toward Billy. Billy opens the door to his car.
		
		MIKE
	Hey Billy.

Billy turns around in time to get smashed in the face by a wooden 
baseball 
bat. Mike grabs Billy's shirt and starts punching him over and over 
again 
in the face.
		
		MIKE
	See this is what happens when you fuck with

Mike let's Billy fall to the ground crying. Mike looks around and pulls 
a 
revolver out of his pocket, he points it at the kids head.
		
		MIKE
	See what fucking happens?
		
		BILLY
	(crying/stuttering)
	Please, don't. Please man.

Mike looks at him and tucks away the pistol. A few drunk girls stumble 
out 
of the bar and see Mike.
		
		DRUNK GIRL
	Hey, who are you?

Mike looks at the girl and than back at Billy, he kicks him in the face 
a 
few times and gets back into his car. Mike drives off as the girls 
stumble 
toward billy.
		
		DRUNK GIRL
	Are you...ok?
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Mike is sitting on the couch in his boxers, he has cuts all over his 
face 
and a few bruises. He has a tissue stuffed up his nose to stop the 
bleeding. Mike is watching Saturday Night Live but not laughing at 
anything. The telephone rings, Mike reaches over and answers it.
		
		MIKE
	(drunk and in pain)
	Vincent. What's up? Yeah i'm out of school 
	now, summer vacation. Yeah I could do that. 
	Alright.

Mike hangs up the phone.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. THE CABANNAH - NIGHT

Mike and Vincent are sitting across from eachother in the middle of the 
cabannah which has been emptied of people for this meeting.  
		
		VINCENT
	We have a big problem, Mike. If you fix it 
	for us, we're talking alot of money.
		
		MIKE
	What's the problem?
		
		VINCENT
	There's a guy staying in Barcelona, his name 
	is Luca Tomacio. He used to work for the 
	FBI, organized crime task force.
		
		MIKE
	So what's he doing in Barcelona?
		
		VINCENT
	He's retired there with his daughter.
		
		MIKE
	I don't see what the problem is.
		
		VINCENT
	A friend of mine who works for the FBI said 
	they found some anonyumous leads on an 
	investigation that stopped a few years back 
	that our friend Luca was working on. If they 
	figure out he's an asset before you get to 
	him, we're fucked.
		
		MIKE
	It's still not a problem, I mean if he's 
	retired he's not expecting some kid to burst 
	into his door and put a bullet in between 
	his eyes.
		
		VINCENT
	See that's the thing. This guy is really 
	inconsistant he takes a different path to 
	work everyday and he switches card. We don't 
	have any information on this guy so you 
	might need to tail him for a few weeks. 
	Figure out his daily routine. Have West give 
	you the address of the bar that he runs. 
	(a beat)
	This isnt like the others. This is big.
		
		MIKE
	Don't worry Vincent, I got it.
		
		VINCENT
	Your plane to Barcelona leaves in an hour. 
	(a beat)
	Don't fuck it up.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. LA BELLA VISTA - NIGHT

We are in a luxurious five star hotel lobby. Mike walks in as the front 
door is opened for him, he has a suitcase in his hands. We walks 
through 
the lobby to the concierge. A female employee named MARIA is sitting at 
a 
computer.
		
		MIKE
	I'm checking in.
		
		MARIA
	What's your name, sir?
		
		MIKE
	David Torrio.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. HOTEL ROOM - MORNING

Mike has his rifle case out on the bed, he opens it and assembles the 
gun 
from six separate pieces. We pull back to reveal him wearing a wife 
beater 
and a few holsters. He puts a clip in the gun and cocks it. Mike opens 
his 
carry on suit case and opens it to reveal six gold and silver pistols. 
Mike takes a few of them.

Mike puts a few of the pistols in his holsters and grabs a jacket from 
his 
suit case, he puts on a hat and walks out the door.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BEACHSIDE BAR - MORNING

The sun is brightly shining over a beachside bar. Natalie walks to 
behind 
the bar where she works.

From a back room, LUCA TOMACIO walks out smoking a cigar. He has a 
hawaiin 
looking shirt on and huge sunglasses. His girlfriend is a few feet 
behind 
him, VALENTINA, who is beautiful as well. Luca walks out of the 
restaurant 
but Natalie doesnt notice him.

Mike's jaw practically drops when he see's NATALIE, a tall slim 
beautiful 
tanned brunette with brown eyes. Mike is still staring at Natalie as he 
drinks.
			
			CUT TO:

THE BAR

Natalie is pouring ice in severeal cups as we hear a stool being pulled 
out. She looks up at the camera.
		
		MIKE (OS)
	I know you may not believe this... 
	(a beat)
	But you are the most beautiful girl i've 
	ever seen.
		
		NATALIE
	Do you want another martini?

The shot turns to reveal Mike sitting at the bar with an empty martini. 
He 
lifts his sunglasses up over his head.
		
		MIKE
	You don't like compliments.
		
		NATALIE
	Not ones i've been hearing since I was 
	twelve years old.
		
		MIKE
	I'm sorry you can't understand me. The fact 
	is, I don't want another martini I just 
	wanted to hear you talk.

Natalie stops fiddling with the drinks and looks at Mike.
		
		NATALIE
	Not alot of Americans come in here. What 
	brings you to Barcelona?
		
		MIKE
	I'm here on business. I work for a car 
	company that has an office here.
		
		NATALIE
	So what are you doing at La Bella Vista?
		
		MIKE
	I'm relaxing, actually I was late for a 
	meeting but I decided not to go after I saw 
	you. 

Natalie smiles, a man sits at the bar.
		
		MAN
	(in spanish)
	Another beer please, m'am.
		
		NATALIE
	Yes, sir.
		
		MIKE
	When do you get off work?
		
		NATALIE
	What's your name?
		
		MIKE
	David Torrio, and you?
		
		NATALIE
	Natalie. I don't want you to miss your 
	meeting so i'll tell you... 
	(a beat)
	I get off work at 11.
		
		MIKE
	Can I take you out?
		
		NATALIE
	It would be more like me taking you out 
	since you are a guest here.

Natalie pops open a beer and gives it to the man.
		
		MAN
	(in spanish)
	Thankyou.
		
		MIKE
	Is that a yes?
		
		NATALIE
	(smiling)
	It wasnt a no.
			
			CUT TO:

DREAM: LA BELLA BISTA - NIGHT

Natalie and Linda are sitting at a table both looking at Mike.
		
		LINDA
	I loved you Mike, I cared for you.
		
		NATALIE
	Your dead, Linda.
		
		MIKE
	I loved you too.
		
		NATALIE
	Mike?
		
		MIKE
	Natalie, don't leave.

Natalie stands up. We hear a really loud phone begin to ring.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

Mike is sleeping in his bed as MATRIX plays on the tv. It is dark as 
the 
blinds are closed, a phone is ringing as Mike wakes up from a 
nightmare. 
Mike reaches over and answers it.
		
		MIKE
	(into phone)
	Vincent. Yeah I went to the bar, I need a 
	better picture all these mother fuckers look 
	alike. I just got back from the bar. Don't 
	worry Vincent, just send me the picture. 
	Alright, bye.

Mike hangs up the phone and looks at the clock which reads ten fourty 
five, he gets out of bed in a hurry.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. LA BELLA VISTA - NIGHT

Natalie walks out of the bar in her civilian clothing and see's Mike 
sitting in a BMW with the windows down.
		
		MIKE
	(smiling)
	What you didnt think i'd show? I just fell 
	asleep for a while.
		
		NATALIE
	I didnt expect a BMW.

Mike opens the door for Natalie, she gets in. Mike runs over to the 
drivers seat.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BEACH - NIGHT

The beach is well lit by a fire as Natalie and Mike look out at the 
water 
laying on some sort of towel.
		
		MIKE
	So how did you end up here?
		
		NATALIE
	Me and my parents lived in Washington D.C. 
	but when my father moved here I decided to 
	come with him. I'm studying here at the 
	university.
		
		MIKE
	I'm studying at Ohio State for a business 
	major so I can start my own car company.
		
		NATALIE
	What are you going to call it?
		
		MIKE
	I don't know I didn't think of that yet. So, 
	are you ever going back to the states?
		
		NATALIE
	(thinking and smiling)
	I don't know, it depends on alot of things.
		
		MIKE
	Like what?

Natalie looks at Mike curiously.
		
		NATALIE
	You mean to tell me you don't have a 
	girlfriend back in the states. If you lived 
	here you'd be married with kids   by now.
		
		MIKE
	I'm only twenty.
		
		NATALIE
	I'm twenty four i've got years on you.
		
		MIKE
	But i've got experience.
		
		NATALIE
	So Mike. What happened with your last 
	girlfriend, you've had a girlfriend, right?
		
		MIKE
	I had a girlfriend.
		
		NATALIE
	What happened?
		
		MIKE
	I don't really wanna talk about it.
		
		NATALIE
	I'm sorry.
		
		MIKE
	Don't be, it's me. You, your perfect.

Natalie smiles in appreciation.
		
		NATALIE
	You know i've been working in that bar for 
	six years, since I was little and i've never 
	met anyone like you.
		
		MIKE
	What's like me?
		
		NATALIE
	I don't know. Different.
		
		MIKE
	Is that good, or bad?
		
		NATALIE
	Both.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

Mike and Natalie are kissing almost naked under the covers of the dimly 
lit hotel room. The tv is off but some music is playing.

BED - LATER

Mike is laying in the bed looking up at the ceiling, Natalie is in a 
deep 
peaceful sleep. We zoom in closer and close into Mike's eyes before 
going 
to...
			
			CUT TO:

COMING UP

Mike and Natalie go out on her cousins boat.

INT. HOTEL ROOM - MORNING

Mike is still sleeping in bed, Natalie is in her underwear and a t-
shirt 
as she talks on the phone with her cousin in Spanish.
		
		NATALIE
	(in spanish)
	Ok i'm brining my friend if you don't mind. 
	You have an extra one, right? Thankyou 
	Josef.

Natalie hangs up the phone and walks over to the bed.
		
		NATALIE
	Mike wake up, we're going out.

Mike doesnt wake up, Natalie hits him with a pillow hard enough to wake 
him up. As Mike rubs his eyes.
		
		MIKE
	What?
		
		NATALIE
	We're going on my cousins wave runners. We 
	have to leave now.
		
		MIKE
	Waverunners?
		
		NATALIE
	Yeah... 
	(Smiling)
	It's fun.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. OCEAN - MORNING

The bright sun shines on the three waverunners piercing through the 
waves 
in the ocean. Mike is driving one, JOSEF is driving another on and 
Natalie 
(the wildest) is driving her own. As Natalie laughs she begins to race 
Mike who begins laughing. Josef stops his waverunner and watches. 

Natalie is way ahead of Mike as he picks up the speed. Eventually Mike 
gets ahead and stops. Natalie has to turn to avoid a collision, she 
looks 
back to Josef.
		
		NATALIE
	I won.
		
		JOSEF
	(with a thick accent)
	I think you lost.
		
		MIKE
	(loud)
	I don't know, it was close.
		
		JOSEF
	Come on, let's go have lunch.

Mike looks at his watch as Natalie and Josef speed off. He soon 
accelerates as well.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. DINING ROOM - EARLY AFTERNOON

Mike, Josef, VIVIAN and Natalie are all sitting around eating a huge 
pre-
prepared lunch on the table buffet style. Vivian is Josef's beautiful 
prize of a wife.
		
		VIVIAN
	So Mike how long are you in Barcelona for?
		
		MIKE
	A few more weeks and than I start school 
	again.

Natalie doesnt look happy about this, Mike notices.
		
		JOSEF
	(to Natalie)
	You can always visit Mike in... 
	(to Mike)
	Where do you go to school?
		
		MIKE
	Ohio.
		
		JOSEF
	(to Natalie)
	Ohio.
		
		VIVIAN
	(changing the subject)
	How do you like it here so far?
		
		MIKE
	It's real nice. The weather... 
	(a beat)
	I used to live in Miami.
		
		JOSEF
	I used to have a yacht there back in the 
	70's, good times.
		
		MIKE
	How big was it?
		
		JOSEF
	(counting in his mind)
	Ah. 
	(laughing/smiling)
	I don't remember, it was the 70's.
		
		VIVIAN
	So, how did you meet eachother?
		
		NATALIE
	(in spanish)
	He came to La Bella Vista.
		
		VIVIAN
	Oh...
		
		MIKE
	What?
			
			CUT TO:

INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT

Mike and Natalie are all dressed up as they sit in a very fancy 
restaurant 
waiting to give their order.
		
		NATALIE
	I'm guessing your parents have alot of 
	money. This is one of the nicest places in 
	Barcelona. 
		
		MIKE
	No, I just work alot for the dealership. It 
	pays well.
		
		NATALIE
	Car dealership? What kind of cars?
		
		MIKE
	Nice cars, foreign imports mostly that's why 
	i'm here we're doing a deal with a company 
	here.
		
		NATALIE
	You made your way to the top pretty quickly. 
	How do you do all that work while your in 
	school?
		
		MIKE
	Time management.

Natalie smiles almost laughing.
		
		NATALIE
	It must be tough.

After a few moments of silence...
		
		MIKE
	I liked your cousin, he was nice.
		
		NATALIE
	Yeah he said good things about you.
		
		MIKE
	You know, about me going back to Ohio, you 
	could always come back with me, if you 
	wanted to.

Natalie looks shocked for a few moments.
		
		MIKE (CONT'D)
	I have an apartment, if you want.
		
		NATALIE
	I've only known you for, two weeks.
		
		MIKE
	Listen I never believed in love at first 
	sight until I saw you. 
	(a beat)
	If my ex-girlfriend was alive i'd let her 
	tell you that.
		
		NATALIE
	I have feelings for you Mike, but your... 
	(a beat)
	...we're talking about our lives. My life, 
	mostly. My father wouldnt like it.
		
		MIKE
	I'll ask for his permission.

Natalie smiles and kisses Mike on the cheek.
		
		NATALIE
	Are you sure, I mean, really sure that you 
	want to do this?
		
		MIKE
	Do I look like i'm joking?

After a long look in eachothers eyes Natalie smiles.
		
		NATALIE
	This is crazy.
		
		MIKE
	This isnt crazy, this is destiny.
		
		NATALIE
	Or coincidence?
		
		MIKE
	All I know, is i'm happy.
		
		NATALIE
	My father is going to love you. We'll have 
	dinner with him and tell him.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. CAFE - AFTERNOON

Mike is sitting at a cafe which is relatively busy. Across the street 
is 
LA BELLA VISTA which is what he is watching. A cell phone ring which 
Mike 
picks up and places next to his ear.
		
		MIKE
	I'm watching the place now, i'll see what 
	happens when he leaves alright?
		
		VINCENT (OS)
	It needs to finish tonight. There's agents 
	planning to come there tommorow afternoon 
	and pick him up.
		
		MIKE
	Are you fucking kidding me? Agents?
		
		VINCENT (OS)
	I told you Mike, this is the big time. Can 
	you handle it I can send West but he's 
	vacationing in the bahamas with his 
	girlfriend.
		
		MIKE
	No I got it.
		
		VINCENT (OS)
	I thought so. It's five fucking big ones 
	Mike don't fuck it up.
		
		MIKE
	Of course.

Luca comes out of the bar walking with his bodyguard who opens the door 
for him while getting into a black mercedes. The bodyguard gets in the 
drivers seat and the car drives off, as this is happening Mike gets 
into 
his parked BMW and begins to chase Luca down the road.
			
			CUT TO:

CAR CHASE SEQUENCE

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

The BMW is going an unusual speed as Mike drives it down the relatively 
busy streets of Barcelona. The MERCEDES is a few cars up going 
relatively 
fast as well.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MERCEDES - AFTERNOON

Luca and his BODYGUARD are in the car as the bodyguard drives. Luca 
notices Mike in the rearview mirror going fast.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

The BMW speeds up toward the MERCEDES and than slows down behind it, we 
quickly...:
			
			CUT TO:

REARVIEW MIRROR

We see the car slow down in the rearview mirror before we pan around 
360 
degrees to Luca who is watching this all happen.
		
		LUCA
	Pick it up, we're being followed.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BMW - AFTERNOON

Mike is watching as the MERCEDES quickly picks up speed and turns off 
into 
a nieghborhood, Mike goes through a redlight to catch up to the man. A 
police car turns on it's siren and begins to chase it.
		
		MIKE
	Aw shit.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

The BMW almost turbo charges away from the slow police vehicle and 
pulls 
up right next to the MERCEDES which turns just quickly enough to gain a 
few feet on the BMW. The police car catches up.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MERCEDES - AFTERNOON

The bodyguard is steering eagerely as Luca looks in the various rear 
view 
mirrors. Luca looks at the back of the car. A parking garage appears on 
the right.
		
		LUCA
	Turn here.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

The MERCEDES turns into the parking garage and parks. The BMW speeds by 
as 
Luca and the Bodyguard sit in the car.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MERCEDES - AFTERNOON

Luca and the Bodyguard are in the car.
		
		LUCA
	Let's go the other way.

The bodyguard accelerates the car and turns out of the parking lot back 
onto the side road.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

The BMW is down the street waiting as the MERCEDES turns toward it, we 
see 
Luca and the Bodguard look shocked.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BMW - AFTERNOON

Mike revs up the engine.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. MERCEDES - AFTERNOON
		
		BODYGUARD
	I'm turning around.

The bodyguard begins to reverse.
		
		LUCA
	Hurry!

The car swirves around as the BMW speeds toward it.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BMW - AFTERNOON

The BMW turns the corner as Mike turns the wheel. As the MERCEDES 
drives 
off a police car cuts in front of Mike's car forcing him to stop. Two 
OFFICERS get out of the car pointing guns at Mike.
		
		OFFICER
	(in Spanish)
	Get out of the car!

Mike puts his hands up as he gets out of the car.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

Mike has his hands up as he stands next to the car. The OFFICER gets 
out 
of his car and starts walking toward Mike. When the officer gets close 
enough Mike gets in his car and drives off at full speed. The officer 
quickly tries to get into his car but he trips over a soccer ball that 
rolls into the street.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. FUTBOL STADIUM - NIGHT

Thousands of Futbol fans are walking toward the humongous stadium. 
Amongst 
the people are Mike and Natalie who have the same Barcelona t-shirt on.
		
		NATALIE
	During the game, it would be best if you 
	didnt scream anything.
		
		MIKE
	Don't I have the right t-shirt on?
		
		NATALIE
	Yeah, but. Let's just say there's alot of 
	violence at soccer games.
		
		MIKE
	You've obviously never been to an American 
	Football game.
			
			CUT TO:

INT.  FUTBOL STADIUM - NIGHT

Four or five men amongst the packed stadium are having a brawl punching 
eachother excessively. As police officers begin to make their way down 
the 
aisles some of the men begin to bleed. We pan around to Mike and 
Natalie 
as they watch. We pan to the field where there is a soccer game going 
on.
		
		MIKE
	This is crazy.

We pan around the stadium where they are six or seven separate fights 
going on between men.
		
		MIKE (CONT'D)
	I can't tell what's more exciting, the game 
	or the fighting.

The soccer player with the ball is tripped, some of the audience 
expresses 
more anger. Some police officers arrest some fighters.
		
		MIKE
	Isnt that illegal?
		
		NATALIE
	They don't really play by the rules.

Mike looks at Natalie as she watches the game.
		
		MIKE
	I think your the only girl in the stadium 
	right now.

Mike looks around and see's a fat ugly woman standing at one of the 
entrances.
		
		MIKE
	(at woman)
	Accept for her.

Mike looks at the field where BARCELONA scores. A large portion of the 
stadium jumps up and starts screaming. Mike see's Natalie doing it and 
joins in.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. HOTEL ROOM - AFTERNOON

Mike is kissing Natalie on the bed in the hotel room. All their clothes 
are off as some soft MOS DEF is playing on the radio. The phone begins 
to 
ring annoyingly, they ignore it the first few rings.
		
		MIKE
	I have to take this.

Mike picks up the phone and puts his robe on.
		
		MIKE
	(into phone)
	Hello? Hey mom, what's up? It's still 
	beautiful here. How's dad? I'm about to go 
	to another meeting so i'll call you when I 
	get back. Love you too, bye.

Mike hangs up the phone and looks at Natalie.
		
		NATALIE
	I want to meet your parents.
		
		MIKE
	I really hope your dad likes me. What time 
	is dinner?
		
		NATALIE
	He said to be there at seven.
		
		MIKE
	Than we'll be there at seven.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT

Mike and Natalie walk into a very nice restaurant well dressed. Mike 
has 
an Italian suit on and Natalie a very expensive dress. They walk up to 
the 
hostess who is smiling and waiting for them.
		
		HOSTESS
	(in spanish)
	Hello Natalie.
		
		NATALIE
	(in spanish)
	Hello where is my father?

The hostess looks over where Luca and Valentina are sitting, Mike is 
looking back at the door.
		
		HOSTESS
	(in spanish)
	Come with me.

The hostess leads them through the restaurant to the table, Mike looks 
at 
Luca who is just begin to look at them. As Mike and Luca have a look of 
shock Valentina and Natalie greet. Natalie kisses her father on the 
cheek.
		
		NATALIE
	Dad, this is Mike Svenning.
		
		LUCA
	(maintaining civility)
	It's very nice to meet you, Michael.

Mike shakes his hand and looks at him.
		
		MIKE
	The pleasure is all mine. 
	(looking around)
	What kind of restaurant is this?
		
		LUCA
	Spanish.
		
		MIKE
	Oh.
			
			CUT TO:

RESTAURANT - LATER

Mike, Luca, Valentina and Natalie are all seated around the table with 
food in front of them. They are alternating between eating and 
speaking.
		
		LUCA
	So what are you doing in Barcelona, Mike?
		
		MIKE
	Just business.
		
		LUCA
	What kind of business?
		
		MIKE
	(playing along)
	I work for a car company that's starting up 
	a factory here.
		
		LUCA
	Your young to be so successful. 
		
		MIKE
	I'm still in college, I just work when I 
	dont have class and now it's the summer.
		
		LUCA
	I hope you enjoy your VISIT here, Mike.
		
		NATALIE
	Tell Mike about the airplane?
		
		LUCA
	I just got off the phone with the... 
	(a beat)
	I just bought a private jet so I can travel 
	back and forth from wherever I need to go 
	for work.
		
		MIKE
	What kind of work are you in, sir?
		
		LUCA
	I'm a retired agent for the American 
	Government and I started a grocery store 
	chain across Europe.
		
		MIKE
	A private jet, that must of set you back.
		
		LUCA
	I make alot of money from the groceries.
		
		NATALIE
	(to Mike and Luca)
	What is wrong with you guys? Your definitely 
	not acting normal.
		
		VALENTINA
	Luca!
		
		LUCA
	I'm going to the bathroom i'll be back in a 
	minute.

Luca stands up and walks to the bathroom as Natalie looks at him 
shocked.
		
		NATALIE
	Mike what the fuck is going on?
		
		MIKE
	What do you mean I thought everything was 
	fine?
		
		NATALIE
	Dad!
		
		MIKE
	I'm going to go talk to him, hold on.

Mike stands up and walks toward the bathroom. Natalie looks at 
Valentina.
		
		VALENTINA
	(while sipping wine)
	Men.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. RESTAURANT BATHROOM - NIGHT

Mike walks into the bathroom where Luca is washing his face with the 
water 
of the sink, no one else is in the bathroom. Luca continues washing his 
face as Mike positions himself behind him.
		
		LUCA
	Your not going to kill me, are you?
		
		MIKE
	No. 
		
		LUCA
	So what are you doing?
		
		MIKE
	I'm gonna tell you, the second my boss finds 
	out what is going to happen he'll send 
	someone else. 
	(a beat)
	And he won't be in love with your daughter.
		
		LUCA
	Don't worry about me, i'll dissapear for a 
	while until things cool down. 
	(wondering)
	Who's behind this?
		
		MIKE
	The Morazzi family I work for one of their 
	capo's in Miami.
		
		LUCA
	Jesus christ, kid. 
	(a beat)
	What have you gotten yourself into? Your so 
	young, if you want my daughter your going to 
	have to end all of this shit.
		
		MIKE
	You don't understand. If I don't do this job 
	and I try and run i'll be dead in a matter 
	of days. My life is on the line too.
		
		LUCA
	If your life is in danger who can I trust 
	you with my daughter?
		
		MIKE
	You can't. Your going to have to bring her 
	with you wherever your going. 
	(a beat)
	You know something that they don't want you 
	to know, you could be in the witness 
	protection program.
		
		LUCA
	I worked for the FBI for thirty years I know 
	what my options are. There's no fucking way. 
	(thinking/tearing)
	I can't do that to my daughter.
		
		MIKE
	That's the only option, sir.
		
		LUCA
	(slowly)
	There is one other option.

Luca stops and looks back at Mike trying hard not to let himself tear.
		
		LUCA
	Kill me.

Mike's eyes almost widen when he hears Luca say this. Luca gains 
bravery 
and looks at Mike with a complete seriousness. Luca begins thinking.
		
		MIKE
	I can't. I can't kill you are you... 
	(a beat)
	No.

After a moment or two Luca looks at Mike.
		
		LUCA
	I have a boat, you could dump me in the 
	ocean no one would ever know. Than you could 
	get your money and go back to Ohio with my 
	daughter safely.
		
		MIKE
	Technically I could do that. But in respect 
	for your daughter, I have to say no.
		
		LUCA
	If you don't do it, Mike. We'll both be dead 
	by midnight tommorow. 
	(a beat)
	You said it yourself.
		
		MIKE
	(making sure)
	You want me to kill you and dump you in the 
	ocean and just leave Barcelona?
		
		LUCA
	That's right.

Mike looks to the mirror at himself, than he looks back at Luca.
		
		MIKE
	We should go back to the table, I don't want 
	Natalie asking too many questions.
		
		LUCA
	Your right. 

As Mike and Luca walk toward the door.
		
		LUCA
	Is that a yes?
		
		MIKE
	It's not a no.
			
			CUT TO:

MONTAGE: CALM BEFORE THE STORM

1. INT. HOTEL ROOM - MORNING

Mike is sitting on the couch as he talks on the phone, it appears as if 
what he is talking about has some sort of importance.

2. EXT. NEW YORK STREETS - NIGHT

Vincent is getting into a car with JIMMY and SALVATORE as Jimmy drives. 
Vincent is on his cell phone talking obviously to Mike, he hangs up 
some 
what angrily.

3. EXT. LUCA'S HOUSE - MORNING

Luca's house is a three story mansion on the beach surrounded with 
beautifully arranged vegitation. There's a MERCEDES in the driveway. 
Mike 
comes running toward the property and knocks on the door. Luca answers 
the 
door in a red robe. Mike grabs Luca and starts pulling him away from 
the 
property.
		
		LUCA
	(struggling)
	What are you doing?
		
		MIKE
	Do you know a place to hide?

As Luca expresses a look of shock Mike punches him in the face once or 
twice and throws him into the car.
		
		MIKE
	We have to go. Now.

Mike walks toward the driver's seat. Valentina looks out the window and 
see's them driving off. After the car clears our vision a HUMMER comes 
into the driveway. West gets out of the car and walks up to the door, 
he 
knocks on it. Valentina answers it with a sexy smile that West reacts 
to.
		
		WEST
	Hey beautiful. Do you know where I can find 
	Luca? I'm an old friend of his.
		
		VALENTINA
	(drugged up)
	He just left with his son in law. 
	(looking to the right)
	They went that way.
		
		WEST
	Thank you, m'am.
		
		VALENTINA
	No problem.

As Valentina tries to lock the door West pushes it and shoots her in 
the 
chest four times with his silenced pistol, he looks back to the street.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

The RENTAL BMW is speeding through the traffic of Barcelona but is 
unfortuneately caught at a red light. We turn and zoom into the window 
where Mike and Luca are sitting.

The HUMMER pulls up in the lane next to them and stops at the light 
West 
is in the driver's seat listening to music. He slowly turns his head 
and 
see's Luca in the passenger seat.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. HUMMER - AFTERNOON

West looks shocked as he reaches for his pistol.
		
		WEST
	(smiling)
	Holy shit.

West pulls out his pistol and rolls down the window, he fires two 
bullets 
but the BMW accelerates due to the green light just before the bullets 
can 
hit.
		
		WEST
	Shit.

 West accelerates.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BMW - AFTERNOON

Mike is behind the driver's seat. Luca is sitting at the passenger seat 
passed out and bleeding from the nose. Luca is awake now and looks 
disoriented.
		
		LUCA
	What happened? What are you doing?
		
		MIKE
	The shots you just heard we're for you. Keep 
	your head down.

Mike picks up the speed and swirves between the traffic.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. ROAD OF BARCELONA - AFTERNOON

The HUMMER is trying to catch up as West occasionally sticks his gun 
out 
the window and fires off a few rounds. The BMW turns down the alley as 
traffic is too restricting.

The HUMMER quickly makes the turn and continues the pursuit of the BMW 
down the alley way which quickly ends. The BMW turns into a passage way 
which goes through a building and back onto the street.

West peaks his head out of the window and shoots both of the tires of 
the 
BMW out, the BMW crashes into a cafe causing many civilians to run and 
scream. West gets out of the HUMMER and starts walking toward the 
crashed 
BMW.

As police sirens from afar go on, Mike sticks his gun out the window 
and 
fires off a round at West causing him to take cover behind his car. 
Mike 
opens the door and points his gun toward the HUMMER.
		
		WEST
	(out of breath)
	What the fuck are you doing Mike? Have you 
	lost your fucking mind.
		
		MIKE
	You wouldnt understand.

West fires off a few rounds as Mike dives back into the car where Luca 
is 
bleeding badly.
		
		MIKE
	(to civilians)
	Someone, ambulance! Call an ambulance! Does 
	anybody speak English?

A bullet hits Mike in the chest and he lets out a scream, he drops his 
gun 
and another bullet hits him. West appears from behind the car as 
several 
police cars pull up to the scene. Officers with automatic weapons pile 
out 
of the cars.
		
		WEST
	I'm sorry it had to end this way. But you 
	made your choice.

As West runs to his car Mike picks up his pistol and shoots him in the 
back, Mike slowly climbs into the car for cover as West starts shooting 
at 
the police. West runs out of bullets and grabs his own machine gun from 
the car.
		
		MIKE
	Don't do it West they'll kill you.

Several police officers from another flank approach the BMW, as West 
appears to the officers with his machine gun Mike shoots him in the 
chest 
several times. The officers contain West as he bleeds to death.

A group of MEDICS come and tend to Mike who is seriously wounded. LUCA 
is 
sitting in the car being treated as well.
		
		MEDIC 
	(to others)
	We need alot of bandages for extensive 
	exterior bleeding. Two gun shot wounds one 
	to the arm and one to the leg.

As the MEDICS tend to Mike he looks at West's body and the blood 
dripping 
from him. This is all amazing to Mike.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BARCELONA HOSPITAL - NIGHT

Mike is laying on a surgical table but he has already been operated on 
as 
he is hooked up to several tubes. Natalie walks into the room with Luca 
and they stand at the foot of the table.
		
		LUCA
	Mike, can you hear me?

Mike slowly opens his eyes and smiles at them.
		
		MIKE
	(in pain)
	Hey.
		
		NATALIE
	Oh my god, Mike.

Natalie runs over and hugs him crying but not too hard.
		
		NATALIE
	What happened to you?
		
		LUCA
	Natalie there's alot of explaining to do 
	which i'm sure Mike will do when he is 
	healthier. 
		
		NATALIE
	Mike are you in pain are they giving you 
	enough pain killers?
		
		MIKE
	I can't feel a thing.
		
		NATALIE
	(smiling/crying)
	Good.

Natalie kisses Mike as Luca turns the other cheek.
		
		LUCA
	Natalie you should know.

Natalie turns around to Luca.
		
		LUCA
	Mike saved my life. There were some very bad 
	people trying to kill me and Mike put his 
	life on the line.
		
		NATALIE
	(confused)
	I don't understand. Who would want to kill 
	you?
		
		LUCA
	Not right now, baby.
		
		MIKE
	The doctor said I only have to sit here for 
	another week. Luca can I talk to Natalie for 
	a minute.
		
		LUCA
	Sure, Natalie i'll be outside.
		
		NATALIE
	Ok dad.

Luca walks out the door as Natalie gets closer to Mike.
		
		MIKE
	There's a phone number on the three 
	hundredth page of the bible in my hotel 
	room. Call the number a man named Vincent 
	will pick up the phone. Tell him i'll be in 
	Florida in a week.
		
		NATALIE
	Who is Vincent?
		
		MIKE
	Can you please just do that. 
		
		NATALIE
	Yeah, sure.
			
			CUT TO:

INT. BAGELS A PLENTY - NIGHT

Vincent is sitting in the bagel joint, the only person that is there is 
the OLD WOMAN behind the cash register who is almost sleeping. Vincent 
is 
looking at a bagel in front of him but he doesnt eat it.

Mike walks into the store limping, he has some bruises and bandages 
from 
shot gun wounds. Vincent stands up and smiles.
		
		VINCENT
	Mike. What's going on?
		
		MIKE
	It's been a while hasnt it?

Vincent and Mike have a friendly hug and sit down at the table.
		
		VINCENT
	What happened with West I found out from my 
	guy in the Barcelona special crime unit that 
	you killed him.
		
		MIKE
	I did.
		
		VINCENT
	West was a very dear friend of mine.
		
		MIKE
	I met a girl I fell in love.
		
		VINCENT
	What does that have to do with it?
		
		MIKE
	Well, I found out that Luca was this girls 
	father.
		
		VINCENT
	You picked the girl over the money, that's 
	not like you I thought we were all 
	businessmen.
		
		MIKE
	In my life, Love doesnt show up as often as 
	money does.
		
		VINCENT
	My boss is very mad about the Morazzi thing 
	he doesnt want his name to be shitted on 
	like this. The FBI already arrested a large 
	number of the captains in New York. There's 
	alot of people that are angry with you.
		
		MIKE
	I know, Vincent. I made my choice, I did 
	what I had to do. Isnt that what you always 
	said Vincent? Do what you want to do 
	Vincent, what are you going to pick 
	friendship or money.
		
		VINCENT
	I'm apart of a family Mike, that's what 
	you've never been able to understand.
		
		MIKE
	If your in the family than what are you 
	doing in Miami pushing heroine and x? No one 
	even has a fucking clue what your doing down 
	here. 
		
		VINCENT
	You don't know what your talking about.
		
		MIKE
	Vincent I'm not a fucking idiot. I know what 
	you have to do that's why i'm here. But I 
	want you to know before you pull the 
	trigger, I only did it cause I love that 
	girl I met. It wasnt personal.

Vincent sits and ponders looking at the cash register for a moment.
		
		VINCENT
	Your tragic flaw.
		
		MIKE
	(confused)
	What?
		
		VINCENT
	At the end of every story there's this 
	moment where the main character which in 
	this case would be you has the ultimate 
	consequence for your tragic flaw.
		
		MIKE
	I'm not with you.
		
		VINCENT
	You picked the girl over the job.

After a moment or two Vincent smiles and stands up, he looks at Mike 
curiously and looks to the door.
		
		VINCENT
	I loved you like a son, you know that, 
	right?
		
		MIKE
	Yeah, it goes both ways.
		
		VINCENT
	I wanted to make sure you knew that.
		
		OLD WOMAN
	The store is closing in twenty minutes.

Vincent and Mike look at the OLD WOMAN who is frightened and runs back 
behind the bagel shop.
		
		VINCENT
	Some good times, Mike.

Vincent walks out of the bagel joint as Mike looks forward at the bagel 
he 
left. He tucks then pistol he had in his hand into the holster around 
his 
chest. He gets up and walks out of the place.
			
			CUT TO:

EXT. BAGELS A PLENTY PARKING LOT - NIGHT

Mike walks out of the bagel shop and starts walking toward his ACURA 
parked in the lot. He opens the door to the car and turns around when 
he 
hears a pistol cock. He see's ANGELO and SALVATORE standing there with 
their guns pointed at him.

Mike reaches for his pistol but they shoot him up before he can fire 
back, 
his gun falls onto the ground. Mike falls onto the floor in a 
developing 
pool of blood. Angelo and Salvatore get into a cadillac as Vincent 
looks 
from the back seat.

The CADILLAC speeds off. Natalie who we didnt know was there gets out 
of 
the passenger seat and runs to the other side of the car where Mike is 
dead.
		
		NATALIE
	Oh my god, Mike?!

Natalie kneels over his body as she gets blood on her shorts.
		
		NATALIE
	(crying)
	Mike wake up. Mike!

Natalie kisses him but realizes he is dead. It begins to rain on 
Natalie 
as she holds onto Mike's body crying. She gets soaked.
			
			CUT TO:
