FADE IN:
EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT
A fine dinning restaurant is seen in the heart of a busy
city. The vanilla sky flows over the city as the sun is
setting in the middle of summer. A few neon signs flicker to
life. A woman holds her hand out for a taxi. A yellow cab
pulls up and drives off. A man and a woman are seen walking
along the side walk. They approach the restaurant and walk
inside.
INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT
We hear a man playing a violin from a corner of the
restaurant. The couple walk up to the host. MICHEAL MATHEWS
is in his mid twenties. Brown hair with brown eyes and a
stocky build. His date is Sarah Bailey who is in her early
twenties. She is naturally beautiful from head to toe. Her
long black hair flows with her hour glass figure.
HOST
Name?
MICHEAL
Micheal Mathews.
HOST
Micheal Mathews.
The host lifts his arm and waves for a waiter. A young man
in a white shirt and black bow tie comes walking up.
WAITER
Please, follow me.
He pulls a chair out for Sarah. She is wearing a very
attractive red dress that has a slit on the side.
She sits at the table and begins to look around in disbelief
of how exquisite the place is. We see several white tables
with three white candles on each table. A single red rose is
siting between the two of them. A tear begins to draw from
her eye.
MICHEAL
Why are you crying?
SARAH
It's just so beautiful.
Mike smiles and pulls the napkin off the table and places it
on his lap. He has a white collar shirt. Black slacks with a
blue tie. The waiter approaches them with a pen and a pad in
his hand.
WAITER
May I start you off with a
cocktail or maybe, some wine?
MICHEAL
Yes, let me get a bottle of your
Mouton Rothschild.
SARAH
(Worried)
Are you sure?
Micheal gives the waiter a nod. The waiter smiles and walks
back towards the kitchen. He gives Sara the look of
confidence. He places his hand on hers and begins to rub on
her ring finger.
MICHEAL
Baby don't worry.
(Beat)
Every thing's taken care of.
Sara begins to have butterflies in her stomach. She stands
up and takes a deep breath.
SARAH
I need to use the lady's room. I
will be right back.
She slides the chair back and turns towards the rest room.
Micheal stares at her until she disappears into the hallway.
HE WAVES FOR THE WAITER. He pulls a black box from his
pocket. He hands the waiter a diamond ring.
MICHEAL
(Whispers)
Can you put this in her desert for
me? I will order a slice of cake
for the both of us.
WAITER
Sure, no problem sir.
The waiter walks to the back room of the restaurant where
the chief is. He passes by a man who seems to be WATCHING
THE COUPLE FROM A DISTANCE. The man is sitting in a DARK
CORNER OF THE ROOM. The three candles on his table have been
blown out. He has a LARGE SCAR that runs from the corner of
his eye to the bottom of his jaw.
The waiter turns around and walks towards the man. He
notices the man is smoking a cigarette.
WAITER (CONT'D)
Sir, there is no smoking in the
restaurant. Can you please put the
cigarette out?
The stranger looks at the waiter with one eye.
STRANGER
(Deep voice)
Sure.
He throws the cigarette in a glass of water on the table.
WAITER
Are you ready to order?
STRANGER
No, I'm just waiting for my wife.
(Beat)
She's always running late. What
else is new?
The waiter notices that the man is not wearing a ring. The
waiter tries to hide his perplexed look. He starts to
realize that he cannot help but stare at the stranger's
scar. The stranger looks up at the waiter and notices him
staring and BEGINS TO CHUCKLE...
WAITER
Sir, just let me know if you need
anything.
The waiter walks away and a QUICK CHILL runs down his body.
CUT TO:
INT. THE BATHROOM - NIGHT
Sarah is seen putting on some red lipstick in the mirror.
The bathroom door opens. She is interrupted by a old friend
from high school, Denise Martin. Denise has blond hair and
blue eyes. She has beauty that only money can buy.
DENISE
Sarah is that you?
SARAH
Oh my god. Denise.
(Beat)
I haven't seen you in years.
How've you been?
DENISE
I've been good! You look amazing.
Wow, I love that dress.
(Beat)
What are you doing here?
SARAH
Thank you. I'm actually here with
Mike. He has a special night
planned for us tonight.
DENISE
Ah, that's sweet of him.
(Beat)
You two have been together for a
while now.
SARAH
Yeah. Just a little over four
years.
Denise puts her hands on Sarah's shoulders and braces
herself.
DENISE
Sarah, I don't want to be the one
to tell you this. But, I saw Mike
at a party a few weeks ago and he
was talking with Jennifer. I saw
them holding hands. It started to
bothered me because, I thought
maybe.
(Beat)
They got back together.
Sarah closes her eyes for a brief moment as her picture
perfect world just came to an end. Her mind races to a small
room. She begins to see Jennifer sitting close to Mike with
her hand coursing his.
SARAH
How...
(Beat)
How could he do this to me?
Sarah's eyes begin to water. Her hand TREMBLES as she wipes
a tear from her eye.
DENISE
I know the two of them had a thing
back in high school but that was
years ago. Don't worry sweetie,
I'm sure it was nothing.
Denise starts to feel a sense of accomplishment. She was
always jealous of Sarah and her natural beauty. Denise goes
to give Sarah a hug. Sarah lets go of Denise and turns to
the mirror to fix her mascara.
SARAH
I can't believe he would do
something like this.
Sarah walks out of the bathroom and moves towards Mike who
is patiently waiting for her.She storms towards him and Mike
begins to look concerned.
SARAH (CONT'D)
Mike how could you? Please tell me
you weren't with Jennifer.
MICHEAL
What are you talking about?
SARAH
Where you with Jennifer two weeks
ago?
MICHEAL
Yeah, but...
SARAH
But nothing Mike. It's over. I'll
find my own ride home.
Mike struggles to stand up and knocks over a glass of water
on the table. He picks the glass up and looks towards Sarah.
MICHEAL
Jennifer is a wedding planner. She
was going over some ideas with me
for our wedding.
Sarah didn't hear a single word Mike said and runs towards
the host. She begins to cry and gives the host A LOOK OF
URGENCY.
SARAH
(Crying)
Can.... Can you please call me a
cab?
HOST
Sure, but there is one already
outside.
SARAH
Thank you.
Mike looks down at the table. He quickly pulls out his
wallet and throws some money on the table for the waiter.
Sarah RUNS OUT THE FRONT DOOR.
MICHEAL
SARAH WAIT! JUST WAIT A MINUTE!
PLEASE!!!
Mike is starting to head for the front door but is STOPPED
BY THE WAITER.
WAITER
Sir, the ring. Let me get it for
you.
Frustrated and worried he loosens his tie. He looks to his
left and sees Denise standing there with her arms folded and
a smirk on her face. Her boyfriend is siting at the table
not knowing what just happen.
MICHEAL
(whispers to
himself)
I should have known.
The waiter rushes back to him and hands him the ring. Mike
takes the ring and runs to the front door. He passes right
by the table where the stranger was sitting. But, ONLY A
GLASS WITH A CIGARETTE IN IT, REMAINS...
EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT
The rain is coming down hard and Sarah grabs a newspaper
from a bin beside her. She runs to the cab that is parked
across the street. She gets inside of the cab.
DRIVER
Where would you like to go?
SARAH
Any where? I just need to think
for a while.
Mike runs outside for her but, he is too late. We see the
cab pulling away down the street. He looks at the ring in
the palm of his hand.
BEAT.
He places it back in his pocket and walks to his car. His
heart feels heavy as the rain falls upon him.
EXT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
The cab pulls up. Sarah walks out of the car. The
neighborhood is quite. The moon is casting a dim light over
the street. The stars shine like perfectly cut diamonds. The
house has a yellow porch light with a small set of stairs
leading to the front door.
She notices the bedroom light is on. She stares at the
bedroom window and is overcome by a rush of emotion. Pulling
herself together she walks to the front door and unlocks it.
INT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
She walks inside and LOCKS THE DOOR. The home is well kept
with a few hand me downs. There is a few pictures of Sarah
and Mike on the walls. There is a picture in a black frame
from a picnic, an amusement park and a picture of them
standing on the front porch. Sarah walks to the back bedroom
to look for Mike. She walks inside and looks around.
SARAH
Mike.
(Beat)
MIKE!
The bedroom has a small T.V. in the corner. A white bed sits
in the middle with a see through white lace wrapped around
the post. She opens the bathroom door and reaches for the
light switch. No one is there. The bathroom is small with a
tiny tube and a toilet right beside it.
She begins to walk back to the kitchen. Looks around and she
doesn't see him. She walks towards the loft behind the
kitchen. There's a shadow of someone sitting in A CHAIR, IN
THE DARK.
SARAH (CONT'D)
MIKE! Why didn't you answer me?
Sarah reaches for THE LIGHT SWITCH ON THE WALL. The light
fills the dark room. We see Mike bound and gagged in a
chair. Her face drains of color and she quickly runs to his
aid. She pulls the blind fold off and starts to untie his
feet.
SARAH (CONT'D)
Mike, what the hell happened to
you?
Mike's eyes become wide with fear. A muffled scream pours
out from the duct tape.Sarah looks up at Mike with a horrid
look and she is quickly grabbed from behind.
She is picked up by her waist and struggles with the
stranger. She takes a glimpse of him THROUGH A MIRROR across
from her. She sees A MAN WITH A SCAR THAT RUNS FROM HIS EYE
DOWN TO HIS JAW. She is quickly hit in the back of the head
and passes out.
BEAT.
Sarah dazed, opens her eyes and sees nothing. She notices
that her mouth is taped shut and she is blind folded. She
begins to moan and the stranger touches her shoulder.
STRANGER
(Scratchy deep
voice)
SHHHH! I have been waiting for
this moment way too long.
(Beat)
You have such great beauty. What a
shame this will all have to go to
waste.
Sarah begins to squirm and SCREAMS THROUGH THE DUCT TAPE.
SARAH
(Muffled)
HEEELLLP!!!
STRANGER
The quieter you are the less
painful this will be for the both
of you.
Sarah sits still and doesn't say a word. The stranger
reaches for the tape on her mouth. He rips it off with one
swift motion.
SARAH
(Scared)
What do you want? I will give you
anything. Just please let us go.
STRANGER
Don't worry. I'll be done real
soon.
SARAH
(Screams)
HELP! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
The stranger places his hand with a black leather glove over
her mouth.
STRANGER
IF YOU SAY ONE MORE WORD I WILL
KILL YOUR FUCKING BOYFRIEND!!!
The Stranger stares at Mike with a menacing look.
STRANGER (CONT'D)
Wouldn't that be nice?
The stranger lets go of her mouth. Sarah's lips begin to
quiver. The stranger looks back at her and begins to touch
her breast and moves towards her thigh. He places his lips
softly against hers.
SARAH
(Whispers)
Please don't.
The stranger stands up WITH ANGER.
STRANGER
I TOLD YOU NOT TO SAY A WORD!
He pulls an ice pick form his back pocket and stabs Mike in
the side of his ribs, three times. Mike begins to moan and
leans over. Sarah can hear the ice pick puncture Mike in the
side.
SARAH
(Screams)
WILL SOMEONE HELP ME! PLEASE!!!
SOMEONE.. HELP.. ME!!
CUT TO:
EXT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
The neighbor next door pulls up in a red car with a woman.
He steps out of the car and opens the door for his date. He
hears a scream and looks towards the white house.
NEIGHBOR
Did you hear something?
DATE
Yeah, it sounded like someone was
screaming.
NEIGHBOR
Stay here and call 911. I'll be
right back.
DATE
Please be careful.
The neighbor runs to the front door of the white house and
grabs the knob. He notices it is locked.
NEIGHBOR
Is everything alright in there?
INT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
The stranger turns towards the door and then looks towards
Sarah.
SARAH
PLEASE HELP ME!
The stranger hits Sarah in the mouth. She falls over on her
side. The neighbor begins to hit the door with his shoulder.
The Stranger bends down and takes his ice pick and STABS
SARAH IN THE STOMACH.
STRANGER
I told you I could have made this
much, much easier for the both of
you.
He stands up and walks SLOWLY to the back door and
DISAPPEARS INTO THE DARK. The neighbor finally BREAKS THE
DOOR DOWN. He sees a man and a woman tied up in a chair. He
rushes towards Sarah.He bends down and picks her head up. He
removes the blind fold.
NEIGHBOR
(Startled)
COME ON, YOU HAVE TO STAY WITH ME!
(Beat)
Don't close your eyes. The police
are on their way.
Sarah closes her eyes and falls into a deep sleep.
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Sarah begins to come to. She opens her eyes and sees a
blurry vision of a woman in a sun dress. The woman has brown
short hair with a trainers physique. She places her hand on
Sarah's wrist and begins to rub her forearm. The sound of
the heart monitor is not easily missed. The sun starts to
breakthrough the blinds in the corner of the room.
WOMAN
Sarah, everything is going to be
OK.
She leans over and embraces Sarah.
WOMAN (CONT'D)
I promise we'll catch this
ASSHOLE. One way or another we'll
catch him.
Sarah slowly moves her arm to rub her eyes. She notices a
sharp pain in here stomach. She lifts her hospital gown and
sees a bandage with a blood spot in the middle on her
stomach. Sarah looks back up at the woman and her vision
becomes clearer.
SARAH
Jasmine?
(Beat)
Where's your brother?
Jasmine closes her eyes and places her hand on her forehead.
She tries to hold it in but she can't.
JASMINE
(Shaken)
HE....
(Beat)
He didn't make it. By the time the
ambulance made it to the house...
(Beat)
He already lost too much blood...
(Beat)
There was nothing they could do.
Jasmine bends over to hug Sarah and the two begin to cry.
Jasmine lets go and stands up to wipe her eyes.
Sarah begins to struggle with her breathing. The heart
monitor starts to race. Jasmine Softly pushes Sarah against
the bed for her to lie down. She quickly looks out the door
for a nurse.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Nurse!! She is starting
hyperventilate.
The Nurse rushes in and gives her A SHOT to clam here down.
The Nurse looks at Jasmine and then back to the heart
monitor.
NURSE
(Agitated)
She is very lucky to be alive. She
lost a lot of blood and her injury
was almost fatal. Please try to
keep her clam. Her body might not
be able to take anything else.
JASMINE
OK, sorry.
Sarah quickly falls asleep. She starts to dream of the night
of the murder.
CUT TO:
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
She sees herself at the restaurant with Mike. After the
fight, she quickly rushes to the host. She remembers seeing
a man in the corner of the room. She remembers the scar that
ran down the side of his face.
CUT TO:
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Sarah wakes up. A COP is seen with Jasmine at her bedside.
COP
Sarah, how are you feeling?
Sarah rolls over to her side and stares out the window.
COP (CONT'D)
Well, when you feel better I need
you to come down to the station.
(beat)
We need a description of the man
that was in your home last night.
The cop looks towards Jasmine and hands her a card with the
station's address and number.
COP (CONT'D)
Can you make sure she comes to the
station as soon as possible?
JASMINE
Sure, and thank you officer.
COP
No problem.
The cop turns to look at Sarah.
COP (CONT'D)
Take care of yourself Sarah.
You're very lucky. Don't worry, we
will catch this killer.
The Cop gives Jasmine and Sarah a nod and walks out the
door. Jasmine closes the door and walks back to Sarah.
JASMINE
The doctor said it was OK for you
to check out when you're ready.
Sarah rolls over and looks at Jasmine.
SARAH
Alright.
JASMINE
I'm going to go down stairs and
get you something light to eat.
Take your time getting ready, I'll
be right back.
Sarah rolls back over and stares outside the window. She
feels the warmth of the sun's rays beating gently on her
face. She remembers the first day she met Micheal. She sees
herself at the library.
INT. LIBRARY - DAY
Sarah is sitting at a small table. She is writing down a few
notes from a book. Her hands run through her hair as she
pulls it back into a ponytail. She looks through a few pages
and stacks her books together to leave. As she stands a
young woman bumps into her and knocks her books over. The
young woman continues to walk by like nothing ever happen.
Sarah bends down to pick her books up and shakes her head.
The frustration is easily seen. Micheal walks by and sees
her picking up her books and stops.
MICHEAL
Do you need some help?
SARAH
No thanks, I'm OK.
Micheal bends down to pick up a few books that remain on the
floor.
MICHEAL
Here let me get these for you. My
name is Mike.
A beautiful smile slowly develops on Sarah.
SARAH
Hi, I'm Sarah.
MICHEAL
What are you studying?
SARAH
I'm just looking through a few
things. I really don't know what I
want to do in life. So I just
randomly read books of all kinds.
MICHEAL
Interesting.
SARAH
I know, I'm just boring you. I
should go.
Micheal gently places his hand on Sarah's shoulder to stop
her from leaving.
MICHEAL
Wait, I was just getting to know
you.
SARAH
I should really get going. It's
getting late.
MICHEAL
Well maybe, I can take you out for
a bite to eat or a cup of coffee
or something?
SARAH
Sure, if you like.
MICHEAL
Can I get your phone number?
SARAH
(Surprised)
Alright, let me get a piece of
paper.
She grabs a note book and rips a piece of paper out. A few
numbers are written on the note along with her name.
SARAH (CONT)
Here you go.
MICHEAL
Thanks. Can I call you tomorrow?
SARAH
Yeah, If you like. I don't have
anything planed.
MICHEAL
OK, well. I will see ya tomorrow.
SARAH
OK bye.
Sarah walks away smiling.
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Sarah is staring out the window with a tear rolling down her
face. The nurse walks in to check on her.
NURSE
Is everything OK.
SARAH
Yeah. I'm fine.
NURSE
Alright, well take your time
getting ready. You don't have be
in a rush.
SARAH
Thank you.
The nurse closes the door. Sarah closes her eyes.
SARAH
(To herself)
Micheal, I love you.
INT. POLICE STATION - DAY
The phones are ringing. A CRIMINAL is getting his thumb
prints taken. Two women are standing behind the front desk
demanding that they let the criminal go. Sarah and Jasmine
walk in the front door slowly, for Sarah is still in a great
deal of pain. The two of them walk to the front desk and the
Police officer from the hospital sees them. He rushes to
Sarah.
COP
Sarah, please follow me.
They walk to the back room of the police station. The
Criminal sees Sarah and gives her a half smile. She looks
away trying her best not to make eye contact. Jasmine puts
her arm around her.
JASMINE
Don't pay any attention to him.
The Criminal is placed in a chair two desks over and
continues to stare at Sarah. The Cop pulls out two chairs
for them to sit in. He walks around to the other side of the
desk and sits down. He pulls a pen and a pad of paper out
from a drawer. A picture of his son in a football jersey
sits on his desk. On the other side is a empty cup of coffee
with a small picture of his wife.
COP
Now lets get started. Do you have
any enemies or do you know of
anyone that would want to hurt
you?
SARAH
No. Not that I know of anyway.
COP
Does Mike have any enemies or do
you know of anyone that would want
to hurt him?
SARAH
No.
COP
Did you get a good look at the
killer?
SARAH
(Frenzy)
YES! He has a scar that came
across the side of his face. I'm
almost positive I saw him at the
restaurant last night.
The cop starts to write down the descriptions that Sarah is
giving him. He stops for a minute and looks up.
COP
Did he have a scar that runs from
the corner of his eye to the
bottom of his face?
The cop runs his finger from his eye to the bottom of his
jaw. Sarah's raises her eyebrows while her eyes become wide
with fear. She is in shock.
SARAH
(Anxious)
YES! THAT'S HIM. THAT'S EXACTLY
THE MAN THAT WAS AT MY HOUSE AND
KILLED MY BOYFRIEND!
The cop stands up quickly.
COP
I have someone for you to meet. He
has been working on this case for
a while. He's the best detective
we have.
The Cop stands up and rushes over to the CAPTAIN'S office
where the DETECTIVE is. Sarah stares at the Cop as he
quickly moves to the back office. The Captain is going over
a few files with the Detective and the Cop knocks on the
door.
The Detective opens the door and the Cop says a few words to
the Detective. He points to where Jasmine and Sarah are
sitting.
The Detective looks over to Sarah. He gives her a PUZZLED
LOOK. The Detective walks back in the office and grabs four
files off the desk. He starts to walk towards Sarah and
Jasmine.
He is an average sized man with dark hair and green eyes. He
reaches out his hand towards Sarah.
SETH
Hi, my name is Detective Adams. Or
you can just call me Seth.
SARAH
Hi, I'm Sarah and this is my
friend Jasmine.
Seth reaches to shake Jasmine's hand and places the four
files on the desk. He pulls a chair out and takes a seat.
SETH
I heard what happened last night
and I'm sorry for you're lose. I
know that this will be very
difficult for you both but, the
faster you can help me, the faster
I can catch this killer and put
him away for life.
Seth pulls a picture out of each file and places them in
front of Sarah.
SETH (CONT'D)
Do any of these people look like
the man that was in your home last
night.
Sarah picks up the pictures. The first picture she sees is a
man in his mid thirties with a stocky build and has a shaved
head. He has a birth mark that warps around his eye like a
eye patch.
SETH (CONT)
His name is Bernard Warren. AKA
THE STRANGLER. He was brought in a
while ago for beating someone to
death with his own fist. He hit
the person so hard the victim
skull split wide open.
Sarah places the photo down and looks at the second picture.
She sees a man in his mid twenties with tattoos on his neck
that run up to the side of his face.
SETH (CONT)
His name is Vince Acton. He is a
man that doesn't understand the
word fear. He was abused as a
child and grew up to be a wealthy
drug dealer. He is very disturbed
and doesn't know reality from
fiction. He wears a metal mask of
a skull and sneaks into victim's
homes. The mask makes him look
like a ghost floating in the dark.
She places that picture down next to the first one. Then
picks up the third picture. She sees a man in his mid
thirties that has a scar on the side of his face.
Sarah quickly stands up. She holds the picture up to the
light and covers her mouth with her other hand to prevent
from screaming.
SARAH
(Hysterically)
THAT'S HIM. THIS IS THE MAN THAT
TRIED TO KILL ME.
Jasmine stands up to hug Sarah.
JASMINE
SHHHH! It's OK. They'll catch him
don't worry.
Seth picks up his file and starts to read his profile.
SETH
His name is Andrew Anderson also
known as the ICE PICK KILLER. His
first murder was.
(Beat)
His wife. Allegedly she tried to
kill him but he ended up
decapitating her while she was six
months pregnant. Her head was
never found. Ever since that night
he has stalked beautiful women.
(Beat)
Then kills them with an ice pick.
Sarah's hand is trembling as she puts the picture down. She
looks at each picture and studies them. She is in disbelief
of how many serial killers are on the loose.
SARAH
How long have you been working on
these killers?
SETH
Five years to be exact.
SARAH
And you haven't been able to catch
any of them?
SETH
(Upset)
I have caught 17 serial killers
all over the U.S. I'm very close
to putting all of these killers
behind bars. Sarah trust me, don't
worry.
SARAH
Don't worry? This man is still out
there.
SETH
Look, I just got a tip from the
Andrew's brother in law. He was
seen this very morning at home
where he lived with his wife. We
have officers on the look out. We
feel he will be back very soon.
Sarah picks up the last photo. It is a blurry picture of an
older man in his late Forties. He has partial gray hair with
reading glasses.
SARAH
He doesn't look like a killer.
SETH
That man right there will put NASA
engineers to shame. He is one of
the smartest serial killers ever
known. This photo was taken by a
satellite. We have never gotten
more than ten feet from this man.
He seems to use Saddam Hussein
method of body doubles. We never
know where or who he really is.
Seth is interrupted by the Captain with some news about the
Ice Pick Killer.
CAPTAIN
We just got a phone call with
information on the where abouts of
the Ice Pick Killer.
Seth looks to Sarah and Jasmine.
SETH
You'll have to excuse me. I need
to handle this. We have everything
we need, so don't worry.
Seth pulls a card from his wallet.
SETH
Here, call me if you need
anything. Just promise me, you'll
stay with someone until we capture
this man.
SARAH
Yeah, I'll be with Jasmine.
SETH
OK. Just give us the address so we
can have a patrol car in front of
your home.
Sarah grabs the pen and paper off the desk.
SARAH
Here, it's 2127 West Pine Dr.
SETH
Do.. not.. contact.. anyone! Not
even your parents or friends. NO
ONE! If he finds out you are still
alive he won't stop until he finds
you.
SARAH
(Worried)
OK.
Seth walks with the Captain back to the Captain's office.
JASMINE
Come on. Lets get you to my place
so you can rest.
SARAH
Alright.
The criminal two desk over watches Sarah and Jasmine with a
smile as they walk out of the police station.
INT. CAPTAIN'S OFFICE - DAY
The Captain and Seth are looking over a few notes on a black
board. It has the side profiles of the three killers and a
satellite CLEAR VIEW of the forth killer. There is a small
desk with a picture of the Captain's to sons and daughter.
Along with a few plaques for his hard work over the past
twenty five years.
CAPTAIN
It's a miracle she's still alive.
SETH
If it wasn't for the neighbor she
would've been dead.
CAPTAIN
Probably. I just got a call from a
deputy that the Ice Pick Killer is
in the house. I'm just waiting for
a positive ID.
SETH
I'm pretty sure its him.
CAPTAIN
Ya, well last time it was some
punk kids trying to get a look at
a murder scene.
SETH
I have a good feeling its him. He
has nothing left. He's looking for
reason to give up.
CAPTAIN
Maybe.
The phone rings. The Captain leans over.
CAPTAIN (CONT)
Hello?
(Beat)
Are you sure?
(Beat)
Alright don't do anything until I
get there.
(Beat)
OK,OK. Thank you.
The Captain hangs up the phone and looks at Seth.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
He's there. I want to bring him in
alive, you got it.
SETH
Yes, I got it. You're sending the
S.W.A.T. team, right?
CAPTAIN
Of course, I'm not even giving him
a chance to run off this time.
Seth and the Captain rush out of the office.
EXT. ICE PICK KILLER'S HOME - DAY
The captain and Seth pull up in an unmarked car. They stop
two houses away and observe the home. The Captain pulls out
binoculars and zooms in on the home.
CAPTAIN
I don't see anyone moving around.
SETH
Let me go and scope it out. He
might be waiting for us.
CAPTAIN
Alright, you have ten minutes and
nothing more. I'll send back up in
to take him down.
Seth gets out of the car and walks through the back yard. He
approaches the home with caution. A dog from the neighbors
yard runs full speed towards Seth. The dog stops just short
of Seth's face and barks ferociously. Seth steps back slowly
and walks towards the back door. He walks up the small set
of stairs and grabs the knob. It's locked.
SETH
(To himself)
Shit!
He walks towards a window and slides it open. The room is
quite and dark. He hops up to the edge and slides in.
INT. ICE PICK KILLER'S HOME - DAY
He stands up and sees the home undisturbed from the
investigation. There is very little light pouring in from
the curtains. He draws his gun with a flash light in the
other hand.
SETH
Hello? Anyone home?
He moves down the hallway and looks up the stairs. We hear
foots steps walking down a set of stairs. He walks back to a
door that is half way open in the hallway. SETH SLOWLY OPENS
THE DOOR AND LOOKS DOWN THE STAIRS.
SETH
Hello?
He gradually moves down the stairs. We see a washer and
dryer in the corner. We hear a METAL CLINKING NOISE. He
turns to the corner of the room. A metal pipe is rolling on
the floor. Seth starts to smell something awful.
He turns back around and continues to follow the smell. He
sees a small spot of blood on the floor. He turns the flash
light to the ceiling and sees a red ring of blood on a piece
of wood. Seth uses his gun to see if the board will move. IT
DOES. HE SLIDES THE BOARD BACK AND A WOMAN'S HEAD FALLS FROM
THE CEILING.
Seth picks the head up by the hair and flashes the
flashlight towards it. He hears someone behind him.
ICE PICK KILLER
AHHHH!!!!
The Ice Pick Killer runs towards Seth and tackles him to the
ground. Seth's gun flies out of his hand and lands on the
ground. The Ice Pick Killer starts to punch Seth in the face
and then tries to reach for his gun. Seth Kicks him in the
ribs and picks up his gun.
SETH
IT'S OVER!
Seth puts two rounds directly in the head of the Ice Pick
Killer. He falls directly on his back. The front door is
quickly knocked down.
S.W.A.T
ALL CLEAR!
Footsteps are heard running down the stairs. Seth is staring
at the Ice Pick Killer. The S.W.A.T. Team fills the room and
the Captain walks out from behind.
CAPTAIN
What happen?
SETH
I found his wife's head hidden in
here.
(Beat)
He was watching me the whole time.
He tried to kill me.
CAPTAIN
Dammit Seth, I knew I shouldn't
have let you go alone.
One of the S.W.A.T. members bends down towards the Ice Pick
Killer and picks up an Ice Pick from his hand.
SETH
He wanted this. He was waiting for
someone to end his life. He cut
his wife's head off and hid it her
for us to find. He could have just
easily shot me from behind. But he
didn't he wanted me to kill him.
CAPTAIN
Alright, lets wrap this up boys.
Bag him and get him the hell out
of here.
The Captain looks around the room.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
Next time try to bring the suspect
in alive.
Seth bends down and stares at the Ice Pick Killer with a
crooked smile.
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Sarah is sitting on the couch with a white rob on. A towel
is wrapped around the top of her head. She is just staring
into space with no emotion. Jasmine is in the kitchen
cutting up some fruit. The PHONE RINGS. Jasmine walks to the
corner of the kitchen.
JASMINE
Hello?
(Beat)
Hold on one second.
Jasmine walks over to Sarah with the cordless phone.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Here, it's Detective Adams.
SARAH
Hello?
(Beat)
Really, are you sure?
(Beat)
How did you find him?
Sarah shows a sign of relief.
SARAH (CONT'D)
I can't believe this. Thank you so
much Seth.
(Beat)
Alright, goodbye.
Sarah puts the phone down and looks at Jasmine.
SARAH (CONT'D)
I can't believe it.
(Beat)
They caught him.
JASMINE
They found him?
SARAH
Yeah, they found him in his home
and he tried to kill Seth.
JASMINE
What? Is he OK?
SARAH
Yeah, Seth struggled with him and
he ended up killing him.
Jasmine runs to Sarah and wraps her arms around her.
JASMINE
I knew they would catch him. I
just knew it. See, now everything
is going to be just fine. My
brother can rest in peace.
Jasmine closes her eyes and embraces Sarah.
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
The sky is gray and gloomy. Cars are pulling up through the
front entrance of the Cemetery. People are getting out of
their cars dressed in black and some are holding black
umbrellas. Sarah is seen walking with Jasmine through a
crowd to the front. A CLOSED BLACK CASKET is in the middle
with a few roses on top. A old oak tree hovers over the
crowd.
Sarah is seen staring at the casket in a daze. She is
standing there motionless with a few tears running off her
face. The dark clouds are covering the cemetery like a
blanket. A small amount of fog is wrapped around a few head
stones. A hand is seen slowly approaching Sarah's shoulder.
Sarah is startled and turns around.
She sees a woman in a black dress with a hat that has a veil
on the front.
SARAH
(Scared)
Ah, Jennifer you scared me.
JENNIFER
I'm sorry Sarah. I didn't mean to
scare you.
Jennifer leans over to hug Sarah.
JENNIFER (CONT'D)
I'm so sorry to hear what happen.
Mike was a great man. He loved you
more than you'll ever know.
SARAH
Thank you.
JENNIFER
Jasmine called me yesterday and
told me everything. I just wanted
you to know that Mike was with me
that night going over a few
wedding plans. He wanted to make
sure he could afford the absolute
best wedding for you.
Sarah starts to feel weak and leans on Jennifer. Jennifer
holds her up and walks her to a chair to sit down.
JENNIFER (CONT'D)
I know that bitch Denise tried to
get a rise out of you. But, it
just wasn't true.
SARAH
I know. I just wish I could have
told Mike how much I loved him. He
was everything to me.
Across from Sarah and Jennifer is Denise watching them. She
is standing there with her boyfriend hidden within the crowd
of people. She shows no emotion or regret for what happen to
Mike. She looks over to her boyfriend Dave Anderson. He has
a small build with brown hair and blue eyes.
DENISE
Awwwe, Sarah. She looks so sad.
DAVE
You don't have to act like that.
Especially here of all places.
DENISE
I'm came right?
DAVE
I guess.
DENISE
I don't even know why I brought
you here. This place is starting
to bring me down. Get your crap
and lets go.
Dave and Denise grab there things and head to the car. Sarah
sees a couple walking towards the road. She notices the
blond hair and realizes that it was Denise.
SARAH
I can't believe she even came.
JENNIFER
Just let her go. She'll get hers.
Sarah sees a black car pull up. She sees Seth in dress blues
walking out of the car.
SARAH
Hold on Jennifer, I'll be right
back.
Sarah stands up and runs towards Seth. She starts to admire
how great he looks in his uniform and begins to smile. She
walks towards Seth holding her arms out.
SARAH
Thank you Seth for everything and
thank you for coming.
SETH
(Smiles)
No problem. Lets just hope the
rain holds out.
Sarah puts her arm around his and walks with him to the
front row of the ceremony. The priest is getting ready to
start. He opens his bible and looks up to the gray sky.
PRIEST
(Concerned)
Lets take our seats and get
started. The weather might not
hold much longer.
Sarah takes her seat with Seth. Jasmine is sitting next to
her along with her mother and father. A few drops of rain
hit the black Coffin and roll off the side. Jasmine's mother
is crying and holding a white napkin in her hand. Her
husband is staring at the coffin with a blank face.
He is in shock of how Mike was taken away without a moments
notice. The Priest looks towards the crowd.
PRIEST
We are gathered here to commend
Mike Mathews to the hands of God.
A few soft sounds of thunder roar through the sky. The rain
starts to come down quickly.
INT. CEMETERY GATE - DAY
A small blue car is seen pulling up from behind the crowd. A
stocky man gets out with a black coat and a shaved head and
glasses on. He resembles the photo of the man with the birth
mark around his eye.
He stands off in the distance. He is in the middle of the
street in the rain and no one notices him.
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
The rain is gradually flowing down. The priest is fishing up
the service. The black coffin is starting to lower into the
ground.
PRIEST
We therefore commit his body to
the ground; earth to earth, ashes
to ashes, dust to dust, in the
sure and certain hope of the
resurrection to eternal life.
The coffin reaches the bottom and Sarah gets up from her
chair and looks down in the grave. She pulls a picture out
and lets go. It shows Mike and Sarah smiling and holding
each other. The picture slowly floats to the bottom and
lands on top of the coffin. The crowd is breaking up and
walking to their cars.
CUT TO:
INT. CEMETERY GATE - DAY
The man in the blue car has disappeared. The crowd is seen
walking to there cars and driving away one by one.
CUT TO:
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
Sarah is still standing by the grave as Seth walks up to
her. He places his arm around her and holds a umbrella over
her. Jasmine is still sitting in the front row with her
parents. Her father stands up slowly and holds his hand out
for his wife.
She reaches towards him and stands up. They slowly walk back
to the black limo. Jasmine is walking with her mother's
other arm as Sarah continues to stare into the grave.
SETH
Lets get you home and get you some
dry clothes.
Sarah nods and turns towards the black limo. Seth opens the
door and helps her in.
SETH (CONT'D)
I'll call you later to see how
you're doing.
SARAH
Thank you.
Seth closes the limos door and walks back to his car. He
opens the door and gets inside. We see a plastic crime scene
bag with a ICE PICK in the passenger seat. He places his
keys into the ignition and starts the car.
INT. SETH'S HOME - NIGHT
Seth walks in his home and places his keys on the table next
to the front door. His home is very clean with a few
priceless painting. There is a couple of black and white
photos of the city at night.
He walks to the kitchen and checks his answering machine.
There are no messages to listen to. He walks upstairs to his
bedroom. On a dresser is a picture with a few newspaper
clippings in the frame.
He picks up the FRAME OFF THE DRESSER and begins to read the
clippings in his head. "WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN HOME. KILLER IS
STILL ON THE LOOSE." Seth puts the frame down and starts to
unbutton his coat. He places it on his bed and walks towards
his closet. He opens the door and flips the switch.
He pulls out some slacks and a shirt and lays them out on a
chair. He starts to unbutton his shirt and walks to the
shower. The water flows from the shower head. He stares at
the mirror and smiles.
SETH
One solved three to go! Soon
you'll be the most honored
detective at the precinct.
The phone suddenly rings. Seth walks towards the phone in
his room that is siting on a small table in the corner. He
sits on the bed and picks up the phone.
SETH
Hello?
(Beat)
Hi, Sarah how are you? Are you OK?
(Beat)
That's good.
Seth stands up and stares out the bedroom window. He looks
towards the street as if he was waiting for someone.
He turns around and smiles.
SETH
Sure. No problem, I'll pick you up
around eight.
(Beat)
Alright, just get some sleep and
I'll see you tomorrow.
(Beat)
Alright, bye.
He hangs the phone up and walks back towards the shower with
a smile on his face.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is siting on a bed with a SKIMPY NIGHT GOWN on. She is
hanging up the phone and looks towards Jasmine who is
sitting across for her.
JASMINE
Well?
SARAH
He said yes. It's just I need to
get some answers. I need to know
why this has happened to me.
(Beat)
I hope he can help.
JASMINE
He will. Just try to keep it
together, you've been through a
lot.
SARAH
I'm trying. How do you deal with
everything?
JASMINE
I don't know. I just try to stay
positive. I know Mike is in Heaven
watching over us. I try to talk to
him every night before I go to
bed.
SARAH
I thought we would always have
each other. No matter what.
JASMINE
I know as hard as it sounds, but
we have to move on. We just have
to. Mike would've wanted it that
way.
Sarah places her arms around her knees and turns towards the
window. She looks to the street and sees a black BMW driving
along the road.
CUT TO:
INT. BMW CAR - NIGHT
Denise is driving and Dave is looking through her purse for
her phone.
DENISE
Did you find it?
DAVE
NO! I think you left it at the gas
station.
SARAH
Just forget it then. I'll call
them when we get home. You're
worthless, you know that right?
Dave looks at her and takes his hand and starts to slide it
up her dress. He looks back up at her face to find her
approval.
DAVE
I'm sure that I'm worth something
to you.
DAVE
(Smiling)
We'll see.
The car begins to speed up as Denise starts to moan. She
finds it exciting and opens her legs a little more. The car
heads towards a vehicle on the side of a street. She quickly
turns the wheel to avoid hitting a parked car.
SARAH
Let's just save it for when we get
home.
DAVE
Why, you can't handle it?
SARAH
Will see, won't we.
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The black BMW pulls up in the driveway. Denise and Dave get
out of the car. Denise steps out and stumbles in her high
heels. Dave runs around the car and grabs her.
SARAH
Oops! Maybe I had a little too
much to drink.
DAVE
You're fine.
(Beat)
Let's just get inside.
They continue towards the front door. A dark shadow is seen
moving in the bushes around the corner. Dave sees something
move within the corner of his eye. He turns towards the
bushes and nothing is there.
DENISE
What?
DAVE
Nothing. I thought I saw
something.
The front door closes and the shadow is seen moving along
the side of the house.
INT. DENISE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Dave turns on a light and Denise is seen leaning on his
shoulder. She stands up straight and walks towards the
kitchen. She opens the fridge and pulls out some fruit. The
home is very well kept. It has a high class atmosphere with
a few sculptures.
Dave walks towards the couch and picks up the remote. He
turns to ESPN for the latest updates on the game. Denise
hears the TV and turns the kitchen light off and walks
towards the living room.
DENISE
What do you think you're doing?
DAVE
I just wanted to see the end of
the game.
Denise turns around and bends over exposing her thong and
ass to Dave. She looks over her shoulder towards Dave.
DENISE
If you want some of this you
better get your butt up stairs.
Dave turns off the TV and jumps over the couch and picks up
Denise.
DENISE
(Giggling)
I thought that would get you're
attention.
DAVE
(Smiling)
Don't worry, I'm going to take
good care of you.
The couple is seen walking up the stairs. A dark shadow of a
man moves through the kitchen and quickly disappears.
INT. DENISE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT
Denise is walking towards the bathroom as Dave is turning on
the stereo and putting in a CD. Denise is seen in the
bathroom mirror taking her dress off and leaving on her RED
THONG and high heels. Dave jumps towards the bed and kicks
off his shoes and pulls off his shirt.
He takes his pants off and gets underneath the covers.
Denise turns the light off and walks out of the bathroom.
She starts to slowly walk towards Dave moving her body along
with the music.
Denise jumps on the bed and gets on top of Dave. She begins
to lick his chest and slowly moves towards his neck. She
takes her hand and with her long nails scratches his chest.
A small trail of blood begins to form along with a few red
marks.
DAVE
AHHH! DAM DENISE! Do you always
have to be so rough?
DENISE
Don't be such a pussy.
CUT TO:
INT. DENISE'S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
A man is seen from behind walking up the stairs. He has a
shaved head and is dressed in all black. He slowly walks up
the stairs grabbing the rail with a black leather glove. He
stops and listens. A few moans come from the room.
CUT TO:
INT. DENISE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT
Denise is seen on top of Dave. Her breast are moving up and
down along with her body. She quickly stops.
Beat.
DENISE
I'm starting to get bored. Why
don't you do some of the work for
once.
DAVE
(Shocked)
Are you kidding me? You're bored?
DENISE
(Sighs)
Just do it from behind.
Dave stands up and moves behind Denise. His back is towards
the bathroom and the bedroom door. We see the door knob
slowly turning.
DAVE
ARE YOU BORED NOW!
DENISE
SHH! I'm trying to concentrate.
The bedroom door is fully open and a man is seen standing at
the doorway. He is the man in the photo at the police
station. He has a birth mark that warps around his eye. A
emotionless expression is seen on his face. A thin wire
unravels from within his hands. He slowly walks towards Dave
from behind.
DENISE
Go faster.
Dave begins to move faster. The STRANGLER STANDS QUIETLY
from behind. Dave has his eyes closed trying his very best
to please Denise. The Strangler slowly places the wire in
front of his neck. With one SWIFT MOTION he strangles
Dave.HIS EYES OPEN WIDE WITH FEAR. He reaches for the man
behind him with all of his might. His body starts to go into
convolutions.
DENISE
Ooh! That's it. Keep it up baby.
Dave's body goes limp and the strangler throws him to the
grown.
DENISE
Why'd you stop? I was almost
there.
Denise turns around to look at Dave and sees a man in black
staring at her.
DENISE
(Screams)
AAHHH!!!!
The strangler grabs her by the throat and picks her up with
one arm and slams her head against the wall. She starts to
kick and claw at the strangler. He slams her head against
the wall a second time and drops her. Her body goes limp and
starts to twitch. He gabs her by her hair and wraps the wire
around her throat and squeezes until she is motionless.
The strangler lets her go and stands there. He stares at her
body lying on the floor. He pulls out a large knife from
his coat. He holds the knife towards the light looking for
any imperfections. The knife is slowly pointed towards he
chest. With one forceful motion it runs down the center of
her chest cutting her wide open.
The blood runs down the sides of her body. The Strangler
pulls the skin back and runs his hands along the rib cage.
"SNAP" we hear the rib cage breaking apart.
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
A small car pulls up in the driveway. IT has a magnet sign
on the side that reads "MIGHTY MAIDS" with a phone number is
listed . A Spanish woman gets out of the car and walks to
the passenger side. She opens the door and picks up her
chihuahua and walks towards the home.
She has on a cleaning uniform on with white shoes. The
little chihuahua has a white coat matching her uniform. She
walks to the front door and unlocks it.
INT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
She walks inside and places her dog on the floor. The dog
runs straight upstairs. She looks up.
MAID
(Yells)
CHI CHI. Get down here, right now!
The Maid sees the kitchen a mess and walks towards the
refrigerator. She sees Denise's purse on the table.
MAID
(Yells)
Miss Martin, I'm going to get
started in the kitchen!
(Beat)
HELLO!
The dog begins to bark as the Maid walks towards the stairs.
The Maid begins to feel uncomfortable. She starts to walk
with caution.
MAID
(Worried)
Miss Martin, are you awake?
(Beat)
Hello?
The Maid sees the bedroom door cracked open. Chi Chi comes
running out the door with her noise red with blood and a
piece of meat in her mouth. The maid bends over and picks up
her dog.
MAID
What do you have there?
She pulls a piece of meat out of Chi Chi's mouth. She
examines it and drops it. Her heart drops to the floor as
her face turns white. She slowly walks towards the bedroom
with her dog in her arm. She pushes the door open slowly.
MAID
Denise?
The door slowly opens. The room is red with blood. Denise's
head is lying right next to the maids feet. The Maid SCREAMS
WITH FEAR.
MAID
O MY GOD!!!
She drops the dog. The dog plops to the floor and runs down
stairs. The maid places her hands over her face SCREAMING in
disbelief.
She turns around and runs down stairs and grabs her cell
phone and calls the police.
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
Cop cars fill the street. The crime scene tape is being ran
across the yard. Captain Bowls is walking with one of the
police officers that acted on the 911 call.
CAPTAIN
What happen here?
COP 2
Someone broke in the home last
night and killed a man and a woman
upstairs. We believe it was Denise
Martin and Dave Anderson. But we
don't know for sure.
CAPTAIN
What do you mean you don't know
for sure?
COP 2
Their bodies are in pieces and
disfigured. We think the couple
was strangle to death first, then
chopped into pieces.
The Captain shakes his head with frustration. He places his
hands on his hip.
CAPTAIN
SHIT!!!
Seth is seen walking up to the home from his car. He stares
at the house with an anxious look. He walks straight to
Captain Bowls.
SETH
Who is it this time?
CAPTAIN
We believe it is Denise Martin and
Dave Anderson. But the bodies are
hard to identify. They were
strangled then chopped up into
pieces.
SETH
Wait. Did you say Denise Martin.
CAPTAIN
Yes, that's who we think it is
anyway.
SETH
That's one of Sarah's friends.
CAPTAIN
We'll, I wouldn't mention anything
to her. She has to much to worry
about already.
SETH
I don't think that should be a
problem. She wasn't very fond of
her to start with.
Seth takes a look around to see if anything was left behind
from the killer.
SETH
Any witnesses.
CAPTAIN
None. Not a single one.
A crime scene investigator walks quickly out of the front
door of the home. He has a VIDEO RECORDER in his hand. He
walks towards the Captain and opens the side of the camera
with a white glove.
INVESTIGATOR
It looks like this couple loved to
tape themselves having sex. This
was found behind a picture on a
dresser.
The Captain rewinds the tape and pushes play. We see the
couple having sex and the Strangler walks into the room.
SETH
Wait! Rewind it.
(Beat)
Stop. Push play.
(Beat)
Pause it.
The Captain pauses it right when the Strangler walks into
the room.
SETH (CONT'D)
(Excited)
It's the Strangler. Look you can
see his eye.
CAPTAIN
It's him alright.
The Captain closes the camera and gives it back to the
Investigator.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
Keep this with the rest of the
evidence you have.
INVESTIGATOR
Sure, no problem.
The Investigator takes the camera and walks back inside.
Seth's phone rings.
SETH
Hello?
(Beat)
Hey, Sarah
Seth turns away from the Captain and starts to walk towards
the street.
SETH
I will stop by around eight.
(Beat)
Alright no problem but, I have to
go, so I'll see you then.
(Beat)
OK Bye.
Seth walks back to where the Captain is. The Captain is
looking at a few footprints left in the mud next to the
bushes.
SETH
Have you been inside?
CAPTAIN
Not yet.
Seth walks towards the front door.
INT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
The home is surrounded by CITY OFFICIALS. Seth looks towards
a woman who is taking pictures of the kitchen.
SETH
Where are the bodies?
WOMAN 2
Upstairs, in the master bedroom.
Seth walks towards the stairs. He grabs the rail with his
white glove and pauses for a moment and closes his eyes. He
tries to get in tune with the killer. He wants to see what
the killer was seeing. His eyes open with a look of madness.
He feels a source of power from within.
He starts to take every footstep that the killer took. He
looks towards the master bedroom. He sees the door slightly
open. He slowly moves the door open and sees that the room
is covered with blood. Both bodies and parts are marked with
numbers and two men are walking around taking pictures.
Seth stands at the doorway trying to imagine exactly what
happen through his mind. The room transforms back to where
Denise and Dave where having sex. Seth quietly steps forward
and moves towards Dave. He stands behind Dave and places his
hands around him as if he was strangling him.
He acts like he places the body on the floor. He looks
towards Denise and grabs her by the throat. He sees a hole
in the wall and moves towards it. He throws his arm towards
the wall as if he just smashed her head in.
Seth pictures in his mind how Denise would kick and claw at
his face. He quickly snaps out of it and looks to the
ground. He sees small pieces of skin with bone shaving. He
turns towards the bedroom door and walks out.
CUT TO:
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
Seth is seen walking out the front door in a hurry. The
Captain stares at him as he is walking by.
CAPTAIN
Seth, is everything OK?
SETH
Yeah, I just need some time to
think.
Seth continues towards his car and gets inside and drives
off in a hurry. The investigator walks towards the Captain.
INVESTIGATOR
Is he going to be alright?
CAPTAIN
Yeah, I think so. He just blames
himself for not catching these
killers before they pick there
next victim.
INVESTIGATOR
Maybe, he should take some time
off.
Beat.
CAPTAIN
(Shakes his head)
He won't, not until he puts them
behind bars.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
We see Seth pull up to his home from inside his bedroom
through the window. He walks in from the front door. He
walks to the kitchen and checks the answering machine. No
messages.
Seth pulls out a glass from the sink. He grabs a bottle of
VODKA from the counter. He pours it in the glass until it's
half full. He slams it and places the glass on the counter
and fills it up half way again. He slams it down and places
the glass in the sink.
HE walks upstairs to the bedroom. He unbuttons his shirt and
turns the shower on. He stares into the mirror.
SETH
Your loosing it. Get it together
DAM IT. What the hell is wrong
with you, you're supposed to be
the best.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is in the bedroom going through Jasmine's closet
looking for some clothes. She finds a dark blue dress that
stops at the knees.
SARAH
What do you think about this one?
JASMINE
That'll look good on you. I
haven't worn that dress in years.
Sarah turns to a long mirror on the closet door. She places
it against her body. The blue dress flows along with her
shape.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
So, where you two going tonight?
SARAH
I don't know. I think I might try
to see if we can have dinner at
his place. I really don't feel
like going out.
JASMINE
Just be safe Sarah. You don't
really know Seth, that well...
SARAH
I know. I just need a little
comfort. What better person to
talk to then someone who puts
these killers away. Plus he's a
cop, how much safer do I need to
be.
Jasmine reaches over towards Sarah and gives her a hug.
JASMINE
You're right. Just be safe.
The door bell rings.
SARAH
Tell him I'll be right there.
JASMINE
Alright.
Jasmine walks towards the front door. She opens the door and
we see Seth standing there with a smile and a rose in his
hand.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Hello, Detective Adams.
SETH
May I come in?
JASMINE
Sure, come in. Sarah well be ready
in a minute. Just have a seat.
SETH
Thank you. You have a nice house.
It's clean.
JASMINE
Thank you. I think...
SETH
No, no I mean it's very well kept.
Sarah comes walking out of the hallway amazingly gorgeous.
She smiles and Seth becomes speechless.
SARAH
You ready.
SETH
Sure. Here this is for you.
Sarah sees the red rose. Her mind flashes back to where Mike
and her were having diner. The three white candles burning
with a single rose stood between them.
SETH
Sarah... Sarah... are you OK?
SARAH
(Blinks)
Yeah, I'm alright. Let's just go.
Sarah places the red rose on the kitchen counter.
JASMINE
Have fun, call me if you need
anything.
The couple are seen walking out the door.
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The porch light is bright, covering the front side of the
house. A few street lamps cover the side walk. Seth stops
half way down the stairs.
SETH
Where would you like to eat?
SARAH
I thought maybe we could have
dinner at your place.
SETH
Sure, that sounds great but, I
don't have anything to eat at my
place.
SARAH
Don't worry. We can grab a few
things at the grocery store. I can
make this awesome lasagna.
Seth walks to his car and opens the passenger side door. He
lets Sarah get in. He looks to the sky. Dark and dead
silent. The street light next to house struggles to stay
lit. Seth has a feeling that someone is watching him. He
stops behind the car and looks around. A neighbor across the
street is siting on the porch.
A dim light sits above him, all Seth can see is a figure of
a man. His face is blurry from the poor light. The neighbor
gives a slow wave. Seth eyes strain to get a clear view of
the man and continues towards the driver side door. The car
backs out of the driveway and continues down the street. The
dim light goes out across the street and the neighbor stands
up. He walks in the dark to his parked car along the
sidewalk. He drives cautiously behind Seth.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The front door opens. Seth and Sarah are seen walking in
with grocery's bags in their hands. They walk to the kitchen
and place the bag on the table. Sarah walks back to the
living room, Seth follows. She is amazed of how well kept
the home is. She starts to walk around looking at each photo
of the city.
SARAH
Did you take these pictures?
SETH
Ya, I like to take pictures of the
city with my spare time.
SARAH
They're amazing.
SETH
This city is my life. Even the
good and the bad.
Seth walks to the Kitchen to check the answering machine.
The ZERO is seen flashing. He reaches for the glass out of
the sink.
SETH
(Yells)
You want something to drink?
Sarah is still in the living room amazed by his photo's.
SARAH
(Yells)
Sure, what do you have?
Seth looks towards the counter and only sees a bottle of
vodka standing by it's self. He quickly remembers an old
bottle of red wine that's been setting in a rack under the
counter for a special occasion.
He pulls it out and wipes it.
SETH
(Yells)
I have some red wine.
SARAH
(Yells)
That sounds good.
Sarah walks towards the Kitchen as Seth is pulling a wine
opener out from the draw.
SARAH
What do you have there?
SETH
Just a little something that I've
been saving for a while.
SARAH
We'll lets just save it for
dinner.
Sarah takes some vegetables out from the paper bags. She
places them in the sink and washes them. Seth pulls out a
pot and fills it up with water. He places it on the stove
and turns it on.
SETH
Would you like to listen to some
music?
SARAH
Sure, what do you have?
SETH
Just the classics.
SARAH
That sounds good.
Seth walks to the living room and places a CD in the CD
player and pushes play. He stands up and sees himself in a
mirror. His mind quickly races back to when he was a child.
INT. SETH'S BEDROOM CHILDHOOD - NIGHT
He is looking into the mirror and we see him with a busted
nose and a black eye. The room is dark with very little
light. The walls are dark blue with cracks running
throughout them. A brown door towers over him and looks
badly beaten.
We hear a MAN'S voice from the hallway.
VOICE
(Angry)
BOY I AIN'T DONE WITH YOU YET! GET
YOUR ASS BACK OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!
Seth runs to the bedroom door and locks it. He pushes
against the door with all of his might.
VOICE (CONT'D)
(Yelling)
OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR!!
(Beat)
SETH, YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT.
OPEN THIS DOOR!!
We hear the door POUNDING with the door KNOB SHAKING.
VOICE (CONT'D)
(Yelling)
YOU'RE NOTHING AND YOU NEVER WILL
BE ANYTHING! THAT'S WHY THAT BITCH
OF A MOTHER LEFT US!
(Beat)
NOW OPEN THIS DOOR!!!
Seth reaches for his baseball bat that is right next to him.
He jams it under the door knob and walks backwards until his
back hits the wall.
VOICE (CONT'D)
(Yelling)
IF IT WASN'T FOR YOUR UNCLE I
WOULD HAVE SENT YOUR ASS AWAY A
LONG TIME AGO.
We hear one last LOUD SLAM against the door.
VOICE (CONT'D)
YOUR MOTHER NEVER LOVED YOU!
We hear footsteps walking away on the hardwood floor.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - PRESENT - NIGHT
Seth snaps out of it and sees himself in the present. He
turns away and heads towards the kitchen.
SARAH
Are you OK?
Seth grabs the glass out of the sink and reaches for the
VODKA on the counter. He pours the glass half way and slams
it.
SETH
I'm fine. It's just I have a lot
of stress from the office.
SARAH
You're home now. So, just try to
relax.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - DINNER TABLE - NIGHT
The table is set with a bowl of salad and the lasagna in the
middle. Seth reaches for the bottle of red wine and pours
Sarah and himself a glass. Sarah places the garlic bread on
the table. She slides a chair back and takes her seat.
SARAH
I hope you'll like it.
Seth cuts into the dish with a spatula and scoops out a
piece. He places it on Sarah's dish and cuts a second piece
for himself. Sarah is just staring at him waiting for him to
take a bit.
SETH
MMMM! This is pretty good.
SARAH
You don't have to be so sarcastic.
SETH
(Laughs)
I'm not. This is really good.
SARAH
Thank you. Do you want some garlic
bread?
SETH
Na, I'm not a big fan of garlic
bread.
Beat.
SARAH
So, how was your day?
Seth reaches for his glass of wine and drinks the rest. He
wipes his face with a napkin.
SETH
Well, I really didn't want to tell
you this. But, you'll find out one
way or another.
Seth takes a deep breath and prepares himself.
SARAH
What?
SETH
You know you're friend Denise and
her boyfriend Dave?
SARAH
Ya, how could I forget.
SETH
Well.
(Beat)
They were found dead at her home
this morning.
Sarah drops her fork and looks at Seth.
SARAH
What happen?
SETH
We believe that the strangler
broke into their home and murdered
them.
SARAH
Why Denise? This doesn't make any
sense. Why are these killers after
me and the people I know.
SETH
I don't think it has to deal with
you.
SARAH
(Scared)
HOW DO YOU KNOW?
SETH
Look Sarah, we have every officer
looking for this man. Don't worry,
he won't hurt you.
Sarah sits back in her chair wondering what might happen to
her.
SARAH
Is it OK, if I spend the night?
Seth places his hand on top of hers on the table.
SETH
(Smiles)
Sure, you're safe with me.
Sarah reaches for the bottle of wine and pours her glass to
the top.
EXT. SETH'S BACK YARD - NIGHT
There is no porch light on. The sky is black with a few
stars that shower a little light. The white moon only
reveals half of it's true self. We hear the wind slightly
blowing upon the chimes. We see a DARK SHADOW of someone
walking along the home. We only see his BACK SIDE.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is seen washing the dishes and Seth is cleaning the
table. He puts the salad in the refrigerator and takes a
quick look outside the kitchen window.
SETH
Why don't you go upstairs and find
something comfortable to wear.
SARAH
What do you have?
SETH
I have a few long T-shirts in the
closet.
Sarah turns the water off and drys her hands. She grabs her
glass of wine and walks up stairs.
Seth grabs a glass and opens the bottle of VODKA. He pours
himself a small amount and slams it. He places the glass in
the sink. He stares out the window and his mind races back
to his childhood in the old house.
CUT TO:
INT. OLD HOUSE SETH'S CHILDHOOD - DAY
We hear a man moaning. The home is beat down from years of
abuse. The walls haves cracks with paint falling off. A
picture is barley hanging by one nail in the hallway. The
sounds are getting louder as we approach the leaving room.
We see a MAN lying on his side in a fetal position. He is
full of blood and a large knife sticking out of his stomach.
Seth is seen standing there with a blank look on his face.
The front door opens and a man in a police uniform runs
inside.
COP 3
Seth what the hell did you do?
Seth is just standing there motionless. The man on the floor
reaches for Seth and pulls him to the floor. Seth is trying
to get away but the man over powers him and pulls his HEAD
TO HIS MOUTH.
MAN
(Whispers)
You'll never get away with this.
The police officer picks the man up from the floor and
slides him to a wall. He pulls the knife out of his stomach
and looks towards Seth.
COP 3
Don't worry everything is going to
be fine.
(Beat)
I'll take care of this. You can
stay with me.
Seth is just standing there not saying a word. His face is
blank like nothing had ever happen.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - PRESENT - NIGHT
Seth pinches the top of his nose with his eyes closed. He
walks towards the stairs and goes to his bedroom. Sarah is
seen buttoning up a blue shirt that stops at her thighs.
SARAH
I hope you don't mind.
SETH
No, that's fine. It looks great on
you.
Sarah walks towards him and tries to give him a kiss. Seth
closes in and stops himself.
SETH
Are you sure?
SARAH
Yes.
The two begin to kiss and slowly walk towards his bed. Seth
starts to unbutton her shirt and she takes off his. They
fall on the bed and Sarah pulls off his belt.
She gets on top of him and starts to moan. She places his
hands on her upper thighs.
CUT TO:
EXT. SETH'S BACK YARD - NIGHT
We see a MAN IN BLACK slowly grabbing the door knob. He
opens the door and reaches for a KNIFE IN HIS COAT.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
We see the man slowly walking in the hallway. He takes one
step foreword and knocks a PICTURE OFF THE TABLE. He pauses
and stands still.
Sarah is lying on top of Seth. She rolls over to his side.
Seth takes his finger and starts to follow the scar on
Sarah's stomach. He makes a circular motion of the hole left
by the ice pick.
SETH
You know you're very lucky.
SARAH
Let's not talk about that right
now.
Seth hears a noise from down stairs and his eyes open wide.
SETH
Did you hear something?
SARAH
No.
Seth jumps out of bed. He grabs his pants and slides them
on. He runs to his closet and grabs a gun. He runs towards
Sarah.
SETH
(Whispers)
Stay here.
SARAH
(Scared)
What is it?
Seth slowly walks towards the stairs. He takes one step at a
time waiting to hear someone move. He reaches the bottom
stair and looks towards the living room. He is quickly
tackled from behind, his gun goes flying in the air. Seth
TURNS AROUND AND SEES THE STRANGLER with a knife in his hand
ready to stab him.
Seth puts his leg in the air and kicks the Strangler to push
him back. Seth stands up and the Strangler runs towards him
with a KNIFE POINTING TOWARDS HIS CHEST. Seth holds him back
at the chest with one arm and with the other holding back
the KNIFE.
STRANGER
I told you I'd come for you.
THE KNIFE SLOWLY MOVES INTO SETH'S CHEST. Seth is becoming
weak and he can not hold him back any longer. We hear a loud
BANG. The Stranger falls over and we see Sarah holding
Seth's gun. The Stranger was shot point blank in the back of
the head.
Seth pulls the knife out of his chest.
SARAH
(Scared)
O MY GOD!! SETH ARE YOU OK?
Seth places his hand on his chest to stop the bleeding. He
looks at Sarah. HE STRUGGLES FOR AIR. She sees his eyes
watering and runs to the phone.
CUT TO:
EXT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The ambulance is park in front of the home with the lights
flashing. Two cop cars are parked on either side. Seth is
being taken out of the home on a gurney. He is strapped in
with a oxygen mask on. Sarah is seen taking to the Captain
Bowls.
SARAH
Is he going to be alright?
CAPTAIN
I don't know. The knife punctured
one of his lungs. Other than that,
he should be fine.
Sarah runs towards the the back of the ambulance.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH HOUSE - NIGHT
The Investigator is seen looking through the hole in back of
the Stranglers head with a pen. The Captain is seen walking
up from behind.
INVESTIGATOR
You know the one thing that
bothers me is why, why a knife?
CAPTAIN
I don't know? Maybe he just grab
what ever was close to him.
INVESTIGATOR
Not quite. He brought this knife
with him. He'd always strangled
his victims before he'd kill them.
It just doesn't make any sense why
he would be so sloppy...
CAPTAIN
This wasn't one of his random
victims. Were taking about a
highly decorated officer. He might
of just done this out of anger.
INVESTIGATOR
Maybe. Maybe not.
CUT TO:
INT. AMBULANCE - NIGHT
The Ambulance is racing through the streets with the sirens
on. The paramedic is watching his vital signs.
SARAH
Is he going to make it?
PARAMEDIC
He'll be fine. He has a minor
puncture to the lung. A few weeks
he'll be back on his feet.
SARAH
(relieved)
O thank God.
PARAMEDIC
I wouldn't worry to much about it.
SARAH
Seth, can you hear me? You're
going to be fine.
Sarah is rubbing Seth's head. The Paramedic is seen writing
a few notes on a clipboard. We slowly pull away through the
back window. The Ambulance is seen driving through the dark
city.
INT. CAPTAIN'S OFFICE - DAY
TWO MONTHS LATER FALLS UPON THE SCREEN. Seth is sitting in a
chair across from the Captain. He looks healthy. The Captain
is looking at Seth through one eye and a cigar in his mouth.
CAPTAIN
How you feel?
SETH
I feel great. Never better.
CAPTAIN
I just don't understand why did
the strangler want to kill you.
What reason would he have to.
The phone rings. The Captain grabs the phone.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
Yeah.
(Beat)
OK. Thanks
The Captain hangs up the phone.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
What was I saying again?
SETH
What would the Strangler want with
me?
CAPTAIN
O, that's right. What the hell
would the Strangler want with you?
SETH
I don't know. The only thing I can
think of is maybe he thought I was
getting to close.
CAPTAIN
Maybe.
(Beat)
Who knows what the these fucked up
killers are thinking.
SETH
Speaking about killers, what is
the story on.
CAPTAIN
Don't even think about it. I'm
giving you six months paid
vacation. YOU NEED TIME OFF!
SETH
Captain, I don't need time off. My
mind will not rest until these
killers are off the street.
CAPTAIN
Look Seth, you wanna keep working
on these cases. FINE! But if the
price is your life then that's on
you.
SETH
This is my life.
CAPTAIN
Look, just take the time off and
clear your head. Your going to
drive yourself crazy if you don't
watch it.
SETH
I can handle it.
CAPTAIN
Look what happen to your uncle. He
couldn't find one killer out of 19
that he brought in.
Seth shows a bit of anger towards the touchy subject.
SETH
My uncle was the best.
CAPTAIN
Yes, he was. But look what happen
when he let his work consume him.
SETH
I'll be fine.
CAPTAIN
Just, listen for a minute. Don't
make the same mistake.
The Captain gets out of his chair and walks out of the
office. Seth is sitting in his chair staring at the plaque
on the wall. "IN APPRECIATION FOR YOUR SERVICE AND
DEDICATION FOR THE PAST TWENTY FIVE YEARS."
INT. DEPARTMENT STORE - DAY
Sarah is seen holding a shirt against her body. She places
it back on the rack and reaches for another. Jasmine walks
up to her and holds a glittery orange and red dress with a
bow on the side.
JASMINE
So, what do you think?
SARAH
Ooh, I like that one.
JASMINE
Me too, you think I should get it.
SARAH
Sure, how much is it.
JASMINE
Um, never mind.
Beat.
SARAH
What do you think about this
shirt?
JASMINE
It's ugly.
SARAH
(Smiles)
Whatever.
JASMINE
So, how's Seth doing?
SARAH
He's doing good. I just don't
think I'll be staying over night
at his place anymore.
JASMINE
You need to away from him.
SARAH
Ya, I know. I'm thinking about
moving in a few weeks.
JASMINE
Why? Where you gonna to go?
SARAH
I've been thinking about moving up
north somewhere. Work pays way
better up there.
JASMINE
Wow, that's a big jump. Do you
even know anyone up north?
SARAH
I have a couple of cousins that
live in Wisconsin. They will let
me stay with them until I can get
on my feet. I just need to get far
away from this place as possible.
JASMINE
I'm going to miss you.
Sarah places the shirt back on the rack and tries to control
herself. She places hers hands on her face and begins to
cry.
SARAH
I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!
JASMINE
It's alright. Everything will be
fine.
SARAH
No, it's not alright. I'm so
stressed out my hair is failing
out.
Jasmine wraps her arms around Sarah.
JASMINE
Don't worry, I'll help you. We'll
get through this together. I lost
someone I love too!
SARAH
Thank you.
We see a man in his mid twenties with tattoos running up the
side of his neck and stop by his face. He is the man from
the photo at the police station. He is walking down a isle
and walks right past Sarah. He gives her a half smirk
because of her beauty and walks by.
Sarah looks at him and with a odd expression as if she knew
him from somewhere.
SARAH
Hey, haven't we seen him from
somewhere?
Jasmine turns around and only sees the back of his head.
JASMINE
MMM, no, I don't think so.
SARAH
He just looked so familiar.
JASMINE
Well, when we get back I will help
you start looking for a apartment.
SARAH
Thank you so much, I truly need
this. I need to start a new life.
JASMINE
Maybe I could even go with you?
What do you think?
SARAH
(Excited)
Sure, if you want. But what about
your job?
JASMINE
I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal
to get transferred over. We have
offices all over the U.S.
SARAH
(Excited)
This is going to be so great.
JASMINE
(Smiles)
I could use a new start.
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Sarah and Jasmine are seen walking in the front door. Sarah
places her bags on the floor. Jasmines walks to the kitchen.
JASMINE
Are you hungry?
SARAH
Not really, I'll have a salad or
something light.
JASMINE
I can make us a salad with the
left over chicken from last night.
SARAH
Sure, that sounds good.
The door bell rings.
SARAH
I'll get it.
Sarah opens the door and Seth is standing there.
SARAH (CONT'D)
Come in.
(Beat)
How've you been feeling.
SETH
Better.
Seth takes a seat at the kitchen table. Sarah pulls a chair
beside him.
SETH (CONT'D)
The Captain wants me to take some
time off.
SARAH
That's good. You need to take a
break.
SETH
My work is my life. I need to get
these killers off the streets.
Sarah reaches for Seth's hand on the table. She inter locks
her fingers with his.
SARAH
I think me and Jasmine are going
to move to Wisconsin.
SETH
Why? What's in Wisconsin?
SARAH
I just need a new start. This city
has taken to much from me. I.
SETH
When do you plan on leaving?
SARAH
As soon as possible.
SETH
How bout I leave with you?
Sarah looks towards Jasmine.
JASMINE
I don't think that would be a good
idea. You're life is surrounded by
criminals and the last time Sarah
was with you she almost got
killed.
SETH
You're right. My life is full of
shit. You're better off with out
me.
SARAH
I promise I will keep in touch.
Seth stands up. He starts to head for the front door. Sarah
stands up and follows him.
SETH
Just promise me, you'll come and
see me before you leave.
SARAH
I promise.
Sarah opens the door and Seth leans in to give her a kiss.
Sarah moves her cheek towards his lips. Seth kisses her
cheek and opens his eyes with a surprised look. He turns
around and walks away. Sarah closes the door slowly.
SARAH
Talk about uncomfortable.
JASMINE
He didn't seem to happy to hear
that you were going to move.
SARAH
He just doesn't have anyone. No
family, no friends. No one. So of
course he is going to be upset.
JASMINE
Just, try to be there for him. At
least until we leave.
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
Seth is seen walking up the cemetery. He stops at a
headstone with a small American flag at it's side. The
headstone reads AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN, AND IN THE
MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER NATHAN ADAMS. A LOVED UNCLE AND
FRIEND.
Seth places a knee to the grown. He reaches the top of the
headstone to rest his hand. He looks to the grown.
SETH
(Mournful)
Thank you uncle.
(Beat)
Thank you for taking the time to
teach me to be a man. You're the
only true family I have.
(Beat)
I'll see you soon.
Seth stands up and takes a look around. Hundreds of
different types of headstones cover the ground. He heads
back to his car. He hears a couple of guys talking by the
sidewalk. He walks over to see what the commotion is.
EXT. CITY STREET - DAY
He sees one a young man handing someone a small package. It
resembles like a drug of some sort.
SETH
HEY!!!
The young man turns around and looks towards Seth. Seth sees
a tattoo along side of his neck. He recognizes him. It's one
of the serial killer he has been looking for.
The young man sees Seth and starts running towards his car.
He gets inside his 2009 MUSTANG COBRA and speeds off. Seth
runs back to his 1970 BLACK SUPER CHARGE DODGE CHALLENGER
and chases after him.
Seth fishtails out of the cemetery. We hear the screeching
of the tries. The engine roars with power. Seth sees the
killer about a quarter mile in front of him. He slams on the
gas. The car lifts off the grown.
The killer is pushing cars off the road. He almost hits a
Innocent bystander. He pushes his car to the max. Swerving
in and out of traffic.
Seth is gaining on him. We see the speedometer reading 110
mph. He flies right by a parked cop. The cop quickly turns
his lights on and floors it. The cop is in a marked 2009
CAMARO.
Seth looks in his rear view mirror.
SETH
SHIT!!
He pulls his badge out and holds it out the window while he
is driving.
COP 4
(Loud Speaker)
PULL OVER!!
(Beat)
PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY!!
(Beat)
THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING!!!
Seth down sifts and floors it. He drives up on the side walk
and turns to incoming traffic. The cop follows and slams
head on into a truck. The car flips in the air and lands
upside down.
Seth is now no more than twenty feet from the killer. He
gains speed and hits the Mustang from behind. The killer
looks behind him.
KILLER
SHHIIITT!! That's all you got.
Seth hits the Mustang a second time. The killer swerves down
a back alley. He comes fling out the other side into
traffic. Seth follows behind him. We see them race up to a
huge bridge that flows over the river.
Seth gains speed and pulls up beside him and hits the
Mustang in the back corner panel. The Mustang looses control
right on top of a bridge.
The car flips in the air and rolls on its side. Seth slams
on his brakes and gets out.
SETH
YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT!!!
The killer crawls out of his car. He is bleeding from the
mouth and nose. He stands up and brushes himself off. He
looks at Seth and smiles.
Seth pulls his gun out.
SETH
GET.. THE...FUCK... DOWN...VINCE!!
VINCE
What you're going to shoot me for
some cocaine?
SETH
NO, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU FOR THE
WOMAN YOU MURDERED!
VINCE
YOU KNOW I DIDN'T KILL ANYONE!
SETH
Wow, you really are that messed
up. You can't tell from reality to
a FUCK UP WORLD YOU LIVE IN.
Vince gives Seth a look of confusion. He slowly walks to the
side of the bridge and looks to the 200 foot drop to the
water.
SETH
Don't even think about it. You'll
kill yourself by impact.
Vince looks back at Seth.
VINCE
I don't know what your deal is but
I think you're the fucked up
individual.
Vince starts to climb the side rail facing towards Seth.
SETH
Get down Vince. Don't even think
about it.
Seth holds the gun with one hand and holds his other hand
out towards Vince.
VINCE
I will not serve time for those
women.
SETH
If you give yourself up now. We
might be able to work out a
insanity plea.
VINCE
(Smiles)
Fuck you Seth. If you're not going
to pay for your sins then your
loved ones will.
Vince holds his arms out wide and leans back. He slowly
falls off the bridge and his body glides a 200 feet to the
water. A small splash is seen as Seth hangs over the side to
watch.
INT. CAPTAINS OFFICE - DAY
Seth is seen sitting in the chair next to the Captains desk.
The Captain walks in the office and slams the door shut.
CAPTAIN
(Angry)
WHAT... THE... FUCK... WAS...
THAT?
SETH
I found Vince. I couldn't just let
him get away.
CAPTAIN
Do you know I have the Governor on
the phone asking me why there's a
car blown up in the MIDDLE OF A
FUCKING BRIDGE. But not only that,
a fucking cop was almost killed in
a head on collusion.
SETH
The man was high, he wouldn't
stop.
CAPTAIN
You better hope we find him in the
river. Because, if we don't you
will be working THE IMPOUND LOT
FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.
SETH
(Angry)

The Captain pulls out a cigar for his desk. He grabs a Zippo
that is sitting on a blank file. He lights it and takes two
quick puffs.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
I think it's in your best interest
that you take some time off.
SETH
Two weeks.
CAPTAIN
Try two months.
SETH
What am I supposed to do with two
months.
CAPTAIN
I don't know. Take that girl Sarah
on a trip or something.
SETH
I think she wants to move to
Wisconsin.
CAPTAIN
Why would she wanna do that?
SETH
I guess she doesn't want to
remember this place and to start a
new life.
CAPTAIN
Are you thinking of going with
her?
SETH
No, I think she wants to forget
about me as well.
CAPTAIN
Just keep your head up and try to
relax.
SETH

Seth stands up and heads for the door. He stops for a
moment. A KEY WITH A SKULL AND CROSS BONES is seen on the
shelf.
SETH (CONT'D)
I'll see you in a few weeks.
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Sarah is seen working on the computer. Jasmine is sitting
next to her looking at a few apartments for rent.
SARAH
Ooh. How about this one. Two
bedroom, two bath for rent.
JASMINE
It looks nice.
SARAH
Look, it even has pool and a
tennis court.
JASMINE
You don't even know how to play
tennis.
SARAH
I can play.
JASMINE
Sure you can. What about this one.
Uh, it only has one bathroom.
SARAH
Here we go. Two story, two bedroom
town home. Close to the city.
Community pool. Perfect.
Sarah feels a little queasy. She stands up and places her
hand on her stomach.
JASMINE
Are you OK?
Sarah runs to the bathroom. Jasmine follows her. She stands
by the door and listens. We her Sarah throwing up.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
(Concerned)
Are you sick?
SARAH
Just give me a minute.
The water runs from the sink as Sarah washes her hands. A
quick rinse of her mouth and she opens the door.
JASMINE
Do you have the flu?
SARAH
I don't know. I have had it for
the past couple of days.
JASMINE
Let me take you temperature.
Jasmine walks in the bathroom. She opens the medicine
cabinet and pulls out a thermometer.
SARAH
I thought maybe it was from the
stress I was having.
JASMINE
Here put this under your tongue
for about a minute or two.
We see them walk back to the computer. Jasmine looks through
a couple more posting. She turns to Sarah.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Let's see.
She grabs the thermometer from her mouth.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Nope, you're fine.
SARAH
Maybe I have food poisoning or
something.
JASMINE
OR! MAYBE YOUR PREGNANT!!
SARAH
(Shaking her head)
No, no ,no.
JASMINE
Have you even taken a pregnancy
test?
SARAH
No.
JASMINE
Come on. I think I have one. It
might be a little old but it
should work.
SARAH
O please God don't let me be
pregnant.
Jasmine takes Sarah by the hand and walks back to the
bathroom. Jasmine bends down and looks for a box underneath
the bathroom sink. She moves a few things around.
JASMINE
Here it is.
SARAH
What do I do with this?
JASMINE

Jasmine turns the box over.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Just follow these directions.
SARAH

JASMINE
You'll be fine.
Jasmine softly pushes Sarah back in the bathroom and closes
the door.
JASMINE
(Smiling)

CUT TO:
INT. BAR - DAY
Seth walks in. A few men are playing pool in the corner. Two
men are sitting at the bar with a women in here forties.
Seth walks to the bar. He pulls out a stool.
The Bartender is telling a joke to the women who begins to
laugh. Seth raises his arm to get his attention. The
Bartender gives him a unpleasant look. He touches the
woman's arm and gives her a nod to let her know he will be
right back.
The Bartender walks up with a scruffy beard and a white
stained T-shirt. Whipping a glass.
BARTENDER
What can I do for ya?
SETH
Let me get a shot of Tequila and a
beer.
BARTENDER
Sure.
The Bartender walks back to the woman. He continues to tell
the joke. Seth pulls out his gun and his badge and places
both of them on the bar.
SETH
CAN I GET A SHOT AND A BEER!
The bartender walks back over and grabs a shot glass. He
places it on the bar and pours a shot. He grabs a glass and
pours a beer from the tap.
BARTENDER
Here.
SETH
Thank you.
Seth slams the shot and sips the beer. He pulls out his
phone and places it on the table. Sits back and looks
towards the T.V. A College Football game is on.
He grabs the cell phone off the table and text's Sarah.
"WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET SOME DINNER?"
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Jasmine is waiting for Sarah by the bathroom door.
JASMINE
Is everything OK in there?
SARAH
Yeah.
JASMINE
Can I come in?
SARAH
(Crying)
If you want.
She opens the door and sees Sarah sitting on the toilet
holding the pregnancy test.
JASMINE
Why are you crying?
SARAH
(Crying)
Look.
She hands over the test. Jasmines eyes become wide open and
starts to jump with excitement.
JASMINE
O my God. YOU'RE PREGNANT!
SARAH
I know. What am I going to do?
Jasmine walks towards her. She places Sarah's head against
her stomach.
JASMINE
Don't worry. I will help with
everything.
SARAH
Thank you.
Sarah's cell phone beeps.
JASMINE
Let me get it.
She walks to the kitchen. The cell phone is flashing. She
grabs it and flips it open.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
It's Seth.
She walks back to the hallway and into the bathroom.
SARAH
What does he want?
JASMINE
Here.
She hands the phone over. Sarah reads the text message and
replies "NO I DON'T FEEL GOOD RIGHT NOW".
JASMINE (CONT'D)
When are you going to tell him?
SARAH
When am I going to tel him what?
JASMINE
That your pregnant.
SARAH
I don't know. I'm not ready for
any of this.
JASMINE
You're going to have to tell him
sooner or later.
SARAH
Maybe.
CUT TO:
INT. BAR - NIGHT
Seth is watching the game. The Bartender is still working on
the woman sitting at the bar. Seth's phone vibrates. He
grabs it and flips it open. He reads the message.
SETH
DAMMIT!
He closes the phone and throws it across the room. The
Bartender looks towards Seth.
SETH (CONT'D)
What are you going to do about it?
The Bartender turns back towards the woman as if nothing
ever happen. Seth gets up from his chair. Grabs his gun and
badge off the bar. He throws a few bucks on the bar and
walks out the front door.
CUT TO:
INT. RIVER - NIGHT
Police are walking along the river bank looking for
evidence. A body is lying on the rocks with a white blanket
over it. A couple of Forensic Photographers are seen taking
pictures. The same investigator at Denise's house is looking
over the body. The Captain is seen walking up to the body.
CAPTAIN
Is it him?
INVESTIGATOR
Yup, in the flesh.
The Captain bends over and pulls back the white cloth. We
see Vince with his eyes open and pale from the cold water.
CAPTAIN
Did he drown?
INVESTIGATOR
Not quite, he broke his neck on
impact. He really didn't feel
anything.
CAPTAIN
What the hell was this guy
thinking? Did he really think he
would make a 200 foot fall from a
bridge?
INVESTIGATOR
He wanted to end his life. He
landed right on his back.
Instantly breaking his neck with
massive internal injuries.
The Captain pulls the white cloth back over his head. He
looks to the water.
CAPTAIN
Did you find anything else?
INVESTIGATOR
Not much of anything.
CAPTAIN
Let's wrap this up.
The Captain stands up and walks back to his unmarked car. He
opens the driver side door. He grabs his cell phone out from
the center counsel. Flips the phone open, scrolls down to
Seth's number. We hear the phone ringing.
CAPTAIN (CONT)
(To himself)
Seth answer the dam phone.
CUT TO:
INT. BAR - NIGHT
We see the phone on the bar floor. The front screen shows
"Bowls". The phone continues to vibrate.
CUT TO:
EXT. RIVER - NIGHT
The Captain is standing by his car with the phone to his
ear. We hear the answering machine pick up. "Seth, leave a
message."
CAPTAIN
Hey Seth, we found Vince or whats
left of him anyway. Give me a call
as soon as you get the message.
Bye.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Jasmine and Sarah are sitting on the couch. Sarah has a
blanket wrapped around here.
JASMINE
Everything is going to be fine.
SARAH
I hope so.
JASMINE
Maybe we can find a farm to live
on. You know, a few horses, cows.
O and a roster. You gotta have a
roster or two.
SARAH
(Laughs)
I know you're kidding.
JASMINE
We should start looking for a
three bedroom.
SARAH
Uh, I can't believe this is really
happening. Do you think maybe the
test might be wrong?
JASMINE
I doubt it. But there is only one
way to fined out.
SARAH

JASMINE
Go and get another one.
SARAH
I really don't feel like going
anywhere right now.
JASMINE

right there. I will be right back.
Jasmine gets up from the couch. She grabs a sweater off the
chair and puts it on.
JASMINE (CONT'D)

SARAH
No, I should be fine.
Jasmine grabs the keys off the table and heads for the front
door.
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Jasmine closes the door and locks it from outside. She walks
to the car parked in the driveway. She looks over the top of
her car and sees a skull pass by. She drops her keys.
JASMINE
(whispers to
himself)
What the hell was that?
She bends down to grab her keys and stands up. She looks
around. She gets inside and places the keys in the ignition.
Right when she gets ready to turn the key she looks INTO THE
REAR VIEW MIRROR. A skull is seen in the back seat.
JASMINE
(Screams)
AAAHHH!
She reaches to open the door. A man in the back seat grabs
her by the mouth. A black leather glove covers her mouth. A
LARGE KNIFE IS DRAWN TO HER NECK. The blade races across her
throat. Blood sprays to the windshield. Her body goes limp
and leans out the driver side door.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is setting on the couch. She has the blanket wrapped
around her looking through her text messages on her phone.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The killer opens the back door and walks out. He has is
wearing all black with a metal skull mask. He is gripping
the knife and starts to walk towards the front door.
The neighbors door opens. A old man walks out of his home.
The Killer sees him and stops. The old man squints his eyes
towards the killer and goes on about his business. The
killer turns towards the back yard and runs off.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah searches for Jasmine's number. She presses talk. The
phone begins to ring.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Jasmines is leaning out the drivers side door. Her head is
lying on the driveway. We hear the cell phone ringing inside
the car.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah has the phone to her ear.
SARAH
(To herself)
Come on Jasmine. Answer the phone.
We hear Jasmine's answering message. "I CAN'T GET TO THE
PHONE RIGHT NOW BUT, PLEASE LEAVE ME A MESSAGE AND I WILL
GET BACK TO YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU."
SARAH
Jasmine, call me back as soon as
you get this. I need a few things.
OK. Bye.
Sarah hangs up the phone throws it on the couch. She places
her head on top of her legs.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
A black car pulls up and parks by the curb. Seth walks out.
He sees a woman hanging out from the car parked in the
driveway. He runs to her side.
SETH
JASMINE!
He places his finger on her wrist to see if she had a pulse.
He drops her wrist and looks to the front door.
SETH
SARAH!
He quickly runs to the front door. The door is locked. He
kicks in the front door. Sarah lifts her head in fear.
SARAH
(Yells)
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?
SETH
Are you OK?
SARAH
(Yells)
YES, NOW WHY DID YOU KICK DOWN THE
DOOR!!!!
SETH
The Killer. He can't be far.
SARAH
(Scared)
What?
Seth is running in all of the rooms looking for him.
SARAH
What do you mean killer?
SETH
Someone just killed Jasmine in
front of your house.
Sarah runs towards the front door.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah runs to the car in the driveway. She sees Jasmine
hanging out of the car.
SARAH
(Screams)
AAAHHHHHH!!!
Seth runs outside and grabs Sarah.
SETH
Come on. Lets get inside he can
still be out here.
Sarah runs back inside. Seth stands there looking at Jasmine
on the floor. Someone in black walks up behind him and
places a white cloth over his nose and mouth. Seth slowly
falls to his knees and passes out.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINES HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is seen looking for her phone in the couch. She rips
the couch apart. A man dressed in Black walks up behind her
and places a white cloth over her nose and mouth. She slowly
passes out.
INT. OLD HOUSE - NIGHT
We look through Sarah's EYES. Her eyes open slowly. We see a
man hovering over a table. A ARM IS SEEN CUT AT THE ELBOW
AND PLACED BEFORE HIM. The Man has a knife cutting it open
and pulling the meat out. Sarah's eyes become weak and
close.
Sarah opens her eyes a second time. She sees a dog devouring
a bowl of red meat. A hand cut off at the wrist is seen
leaning on the side of the bowl. Her eyes open WIDE WITH
FEAR. She realizes that she is saran wrapped to a post. Her
mouth is taped shut.
She sees three mask hanging on the wall. One resembles a lot
like the man that killed her boyfriend Mike. It even has the
scare on the side. The Second one resembles the man she shot
in the back of the head. It has a birth mark wrapped around
the eye. She looks to the third and sees a METAL SKULL.
She tries to scream for help. A muffled sound pours out from
her mouth. The dog barks at her. She looks to the dog with
fear. A moan is heard from her right side. Sarah turns to
look. It's Seth wrapped up with tape over his mouth. He
looks to be in a great deal of pain.
We hear a voice come from behind Sarah.
VOICE
Pipe down Zeus. You've had enough
to eat already.
A man is heard walking from behind Sarah. She becomes still.
The Man walks in front of her.
VOICE
Hello, I hope I haven't put you
through to much trouble.
Sarah just stares at him with a horrid look.
VOICE
Let me properly introduce myself.
My name is Arthur Mathews. O Yes,
let me get that for you.
He reaches to pull the tape off Sarah's mouth.
SARAH
What the hell do you want with me?
ARTHUR
I want to show you something. Your
friend Seth is a man of many
trades.
SARAH
LET HIM GO! HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING
TO YOU!
ARTHUR
I beg to differ.
SARAH
Where am I and why do you have the
mask of killers?
ARTHUR
This is not my place.
(Beat)
It's Seth's.
SARAH

ARTHUR
I'm sure he will love to tell you
all about it.
Arthur walks towards Seth. Seth's body looks pale. He is
sweating profusely. He rips off the tape on his mouth.
ARTHUR (CONT)
Seth, you awake?
Arthur picks up a small bottle of adrenaline off the table.
He picks up a syringe and pops the top off. The needle pokes
through the bottle. He fills the syringe and pushes the air
out. A small amount sprays in the air.
ARTHUR (CONT)
This should wake you up.
Arthur takes a knife off the table. He cuts the saran wrap.
Pulls his left arm out. The needle punchers Seth's vein. The
fluid quickly flows into his blood stream.
Seth eye's open WITH RAGE.
SETH
WHERE THE FUCK AM I?
ARTHUR
Hello, Detective Adams.
SETH
(YELLS)
GET ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!! I'M GOING
TO FUCKING KILL YOU!!!
SARAH
Seth are you OK?
Seth moves his head towards Sarah.
SETH
Sarah? FUUUCCCKKKK!!!
ARTHUR
(Smiles)
You don't seem to happy to see
her. WHY?
SETH
What do you want with me Arthur?
SARAH
What? You two know each other.
Arthur pulls the a chair out from the desk. Sits down and
stares into Seth's eyes.
ARTHUR
You could say that.
SETH
He is a serial killer. Remember
the photos at the station?
Sarah's mind races back to the police station when she was
looking at the four photos.
CUT TO:
INT. POLICE STATION - DAY
Sarah is looking at the four photos. She is holding a
picture of Vince.
SETH
He is a young man that was brought
up very abused. He is very
disturbed and doesn't know reality
from fiction. He wears a metal
mask of a skull and sneaks into
victim's homes. The mask looks
like a ghost floating in the dark.
He places his victims in a open
grave and buries them alive.
Sarah puts the picture down and picks up the third. It is a
blurry picture of an older man in his late Forties. He has
partial gray hair with reading glasses.
SARAH
He doesn't look like a killer.
CUT TO:
INT. OLD HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah snaps out of it and remembers Arthur. She tries to get
loose. She sees Zeus on the floor eating. The hand by the
bowl rolls over to the side.
SARAH
GET ME OUT OF HERE YOU SICK FUCK!
ARTHUR
In do time. But first, I would
like to see are friend Seth
explain why we are all sitting
here in this abandon home that he
owns.
Seth tries to get loose. The saran wrap is to tight. He
barely moves.
SETH
YOU'RE GOING TO PAY!
Arthur stands up and rushes towards Seth.
ARTHUR
(Angry)

THINK YOU CAN KILL MY NEPHEW AND
GET AWAY WITH IT!!

He didn't kill anyone.
ARTHUR

ARTHUR

in the womb. The doctor preformed

ARTHUR

weeks later. I wasn't able to
handle a child at that time. The
only thing I can do is GET REVENGE

(Beat)

Zeus stands up and walks to Seth's right side. A small
puddle of blood is seen on the floor. Zeus starts licking
the floor. Seth looks down at his side.
SETH
(Screams)
WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!
Seth's arms is cut off at the elbow. The blood from his arm
is dripping on the floor. Sarah is in a state of shock.
ARTHUR
This is only the beginning.
Seth's cell phone begins to ring.
Beat.
SETH
The police with be here any
minute.
ARTHUR
Why? Because you left your car
with a dead woman next to it. I
wouldn't count on it. You know you
are the only one that knows where
this place is. That's why you
bought it in the first place.
SETH
(Angry)

SARAH
How the hell could you do this
Seth? I thought you were.
Arthur looks towards Sarah.
ARTHUR
Seth is far from anything good. He
killed his father at the age of
nine. I'm sure he forgot to tell
you about that.
SETH
That man deserved everything he
got.
Arthur turns to Seth.
ARTHUR
The man was abusive but did he
really deserve to die.
SETH
YES!
Arthur moves towards the chair and takes a seat. He looks at
Sarah who is crying uncontrollably.
ARTHUR
Seth's Uncle was the one who
covered up the murder and raised
him up from a child. After high
school he joined the academy. His
uncle was a great Detective but
lost it all from one woman's
death. He couldn't capture a mass
serial killer. He ended up
retiring early and died of a heart
attack a few years later.
Seth is starting to pass out from all the blood draining
from his body. Arthur stands up and walks to Seth. He Slaps
him in the face a few times.
ARTHUR
Don't quit on me know. Were not
done yet.
SARAH
(Crying)
Why Seth? Why?
Arthur walks in front of Sarah.
ARTHUR
He wanted to be the best. No
matter what the price was. He hand
picked three criminals to set up
as killers.
SETH
(Out of breath)
Leave her alone.
Arthur grabs one of Seth's fingers and snaps it.

ARTHUR
There was the young man named.
What was his name again? Oh yeah,
Vince. He was a drug dealer. He
sold some heroin to two 16 year
old girls.
Sarah is moving her fingers and trying to pull the saran
wrap apart.
ARTHUR
They of course over dosed and were
found dead the next morning. Seth
arrested Vince on a drug felony
charged and was released six
months later. Vince was on the
road to recovery. Those two girls
changed his life for ever. Seth
thought it would be easy enough to
portray Vince as a mindless Drugi
who murders women.
Zeus walks in front of Sarah and picks up the hand off the
floor and starts to chew on the finger.
ARTHUR (CONT)
The strangler was a honest man. He
was born with a birth mark around
his eye. He made a few bad
decisions but he diffidently
wasn't a killer.
SETH
Stop. Just stop and let her go.

ARTHUR
In due time. Let's see. MM, oh
yes, the strangler. One night He
was with his sister at the bar.
She got a phone call from the baby
sitter that her son was ill. She
stepped outside and was stopped by
a man. She was raped by this man
in the alley behind the bar. He
just happen to walk out of the bar
at the right time. He beat this
man with his own fist until his
skull split wide open. He served
ten years and was released. Seth
thought it would be great to set
him up as a vicious murderer.
Sarah makes a small rip in the saran wrap. She slowly pulls
it apart.
ARTHUR (CONT)
He was a smart man. He knew Seth
was setting him up with the rest
of the murders. He just didn't
know why. He saw his picture in
the news paper for the murders. He
watched his home torn apart by the
police and Seth. It wasn't until
the night he was shot that he knew
why Seth set him up. He was
running out of killers. He wanted
to live up to his uncles legacy
and not only that. But Seth loved
to be a true killer and get away
with it. The killer instinct was
already apart of him.
Arthur walks towards Sarah as if he knew what she was doing.
ARTHUR (CONT)
And the last killer. The one we
have in common. The man with a
scar on the side of his face.
Andrew Anderson, a man with a
heart of gold. He was brought up
on domestic charges a few years
ago. He broke his wife's jaw and
she slash his face with a knife
during a fight. He never forgave
himself for that night. He loved
her so much that he would give up
his own life to save hers. The
night she was killed was a mind
fuck from Seth.
SETH
(Out of breath)
Fuck you Arthur.
ARTHUR
That night Andrew got into a fight
with his wife. He left to prevent
any conflict that might get out of
hand. As he walked out. Seth
walked in and killed her. Not only
did he kill her but her cut off
her head and hid it in the
basement for evidence. He knew he
could get him back in the house
just by a simple phone call. He
waited until Andrew showed up and
everything else fell into place.
He thought it would be great to
use this man to make me think he
really killed my nephew.
Arthur walks towards Seth with ANGER IN HIS EYES. We here
another "SNAP". He breaks another finger.
ARTHUR (CONT)
He wanted me to be at his funeral
to take me down.
SARAH
He made himself look like him to
kill my boyfriend?
ARTHUR
You don't know how impressed he
was to see you alive. He actually
fell in love with you. You were
the only one that ever survived.
It was only a matter of time
before I caught onto his game.
Arthur grabs a knife and walks towards Sarah.
ARTHUR (CONT)
He killed your friend Jasmine
because he felt she was getting in
the way. I arrived to late to save
her.
SARAH
(Scared)
PLEASE NO!
He places the knife to her backside and cuts the saran wrap.
She falls to the floor.
ARTHUR
Here I think this belongs to you.
He hands her the diamond ring Mike had with him the night he
was murdered.
SARAH
What's this?
ARTHUR
This is the ring Mike had on him
the night he was murdered. He was
going to propose to you. A friend
of mine from the station gave it
to me.
Sarah looks up and sees all the masks with each weapon
perfectly placed on the table. She grabs the ice pick and
walks towards Seth.
SARAH
YOU SON OF A BITCH! YOU KILLED MY
BOYFRIEND, MY BEST FRIEND, AND YOU
TRIED TO KILL ME!
SETH
(Out of breath)
Sarah, I. I Love you.
SARAH
(Angry)
FUCK YOU!!
Sarah takes the ice pick and slams it into the his ribs
three times.
SARAH
Do you know what that feels like?
Blood drips out of his mouth. He gasps for Air. Sarah drops
the ice pick. She looks behind her and Arthur is gone. HE
DISAPPEARED. Sarah slowly walks to the stairs.
SETH
(Dieing)
Sarah, please don't leave me like
this. Don't let them find me like
this.
Sarah looks to the floor next to the stairs and sees a red
plastic container of gas. She picks it up and walks towards
Seth. She pops the top and pours it all over him and the
floor.
SETH (CONT)
(Dieing)
I love you.
She finds a box of matches next to a ash tray. She opens the
box and pulls a single match out. She strikes it and a small
flame is born. She flicks the match.
SARAH
Burn in hell.
The floor lights up. Seth is quickly devoured in flames.
Sarah turns back towards the stairs and slowly walks up.
INT. CAR PARKED BEHIND OLD HOUSE - DAY
Arthur is seen seating in the back seat. The man from the
police station that was seating two desk over from Sarah
when she was looking at the four photos is in the driver
seat.
Looking through the inside of the car out. We see Sarah
walking out of the home onto a dirt road.
DRIVER
Should I pick her up?
ARTHUR
No, she'll be fine.
EXT. OLD HOUSE - DAY
Sarah is walking down hill for the home on a dirt road. The
home is engulfed in flames. She continues to walk forward
not even thinking twice of looking back.
EXT. ACADEMY CEREMONY - DAY
We see FOUR YEARS LATER fall upon the screen. Sarah is
standing on stage with the rest of the cadets. She is sworn
in and walks off the stage to meet with her cousin Amy. She
is in her thirty's with red hair and brown eyes. A young boy
the age of three is standing next to her.
Sarah comes running up to the boy and picks him up.
SARAH
Aren't you going to clap for
mommy?
She pickups up the little boys hands and starts to clap.
AMY
You were great. I just can't
believe you're a police officer
now.
SARAH
Ya, well. Hopefully I will be
Detective Bailey one day.
Sarah looks through the crowd and sees two men standing
there that resembles a lot like Mike and Arthur. The two men
watch her from a distance and turn around and walk away.
Sarah quickly puts the boy down.
SARAH
Here can you watch him for a
minute.
AMY
Sure.
Sarah runs through the crowd pushing people to the side. She
makes to where she saw them. But there gone. She stands
there in shock wondering if it was really them. Her mind
races back to the night were she was almost murdered. She
remembers the raspy voice. A smokers voice. The killer was a
smoker. We see the glass at the restaurant with a cigarette
inside.
She remembers the ash tray on the table at the old house
where she grab the matches. She remembers Seth telling her
that Arthur would put NASA engineers to shame. She quickly
realizes that ARTHUR WAS THE TRUE KILLER. Her knees become
weak and she kneels to the ground.
FADE OUT. FADE IN:
EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT
A fine dinning restaurant is seen in the heart of a busy
city. The vanilla sky flows over the city as the sun is
setting in the middle of summer. A few neon signs flicker to
life. A woman holds her hand out for a taxi. A yellow cab
pulls up and drives off. A man and a woman are seen walking
along the side walk. They approach the restaurant and walk
inside.
INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT
We hear a man playing a violin from a corner of the
restaurant. The couple walk up to the host. MICHEAL MATHEWS
is in his mid twenties. Brown hair with brown eyes and a
stocky build. His date is Sarah Bailey who is in her early
twenties. She is naturally beautiful from head to toe. Her
long black hair flows with her hour glass figure.
HOST
Name?
MICHEAL
Micheal Mathews.
HOST

The host lifts his arm and waves for a waiter. A young man
in a white shirt and black bow tie comes walking up.
WAITER
Please, follow me.
He pulls a chair out for Sarah. She is wearing a very
attractive red dress that has a slit on the side.
She sits at the table and begins to look around in disbelief
of how exquisite the place is. We see several white tables
with three white candles on each table. A single red rose is
siting between the two of them. A tear begins to draw from
her eye.
MICHEAL
Why are you crying?
SARAH
It's just so beautiful.
Mike smiles and pulls the napkin off the table and places it
on his lap. He has a white collar shirt. Black slacks with a
blue tie. The waiter approaches them with a pen and a pad in
his hand.
WAITER
May I start you off with a
cocktail or maybe, some wine?
MICHEAL
Yes, let me get a bottle of your
Mouton Rothschild.
SARAH
(Worried)
Are you sure?
Micheal gives the waiter a nod. The waiter smiles and walks
back towards the kitchen. He gives Sara the look of
confidence. He places his hand on hers and begins to rub on
her ring finger.
MICHEAL
Baby don't worry.
(Beat)
Every thing's taken care of.
Sara begins to have butterflies in her stomach. She stands
up and takes a deep breath.
SARAH
I need to use the lady's room. I
will be right back.
She slides the chair back and turns towards the rest room.
Micheal stares at her until she disappears into the hallway.
HE WAVES FOR THE WAITER. He pulls a black box from his
pocket. He hands the waiter a diamond ring.
MICHEAL
(Whispers)
Can you put this in her desert for
me? I will order a slice of cake
for the both of us.
WAITER
Sure, no problem sir.
The waiter walks to the back room of the restaurant where
the chief is. He passes by a man who seems to be WATCHING
THE COUPLE FROM A DISTANCE. The man is sitting in a DARK
CORNER OF THE ROOM. The three candles on his table have been
blown out. He has a LARGE SCAR that runs from the corner of
his eye to the bottom of his jaw.
The waiter turns around and walks towards the man. He
notices the man is smoking a cigarette.
WAITER (CONT'D)
Sir, there is no smoking in the
restaurant. Can you please put the
cigarette out?
The stranger looks at the waiter with one eye.
STRANGER
(Deep voice)
Sure.
He throws the cigarette in a glass of water on the table.
WAITER
Are you ready to order?
STRANGER
No, I'm just waiting for my wife.
(Beat)
She's always running late. What
else is new?
The waiter notices that the man is not wearing a ring. The
waiter tries to hide his perplexed look. He starts to
realize that he cannot help but stare at the stranger's
scar. The stranger looks up at the waiter and notices him
staring and BEGINS TO CHUCKLE...
WAITER
Sir, just let me know if you need
anything.
The waiter walks away and a QUICK CHILL runs down his body.
CUT TO:
INT. THE BATHROOM - NIGHT
Sarah is seen putting on some red lipstick in the mirror.
The bathroom door opens. She is interrupted by a old friend
from high school, Denise Martin. Denise has blond hair and
blue eyes. She has beauty that only money can buy.
DENISE
Sarah is that you?
SARAH
Oh my god. Denise.
(Beat)
I haven't seen you in years.
How've you been?
DENISE
I've been good! You look amazing.
Wow, I love that dress.
(Beat)
What are you doing here?
SARAH
Thank you. I'm actually here with
Mike. He has a special night
planned for us tonight.
DENISE
Ah, that's sweet of him.
(Beat)
You two have been together for a
while now.
SARAH
Yeah. Just a little over four
years.
Denise puts her hands on Sarah's shoulders and braces
herself.
DENISE
Sarah, I don't want to be the one
to tell you this. But, I saw Mike
at a party a few weeks ago and he
was talking with Jennifer. I saw
them holding hands. It started to
bothered me because, I thought
maybe.
(Beat)
They got back together.
Sarah closes her eyes for a brief moment as her picture
perfect world just came to an end. Her mind races to a small
room. She begins to see Jennifer sitting close to Mike with
her hand coursing his.
SARAH
How...
(Beat)
How could he do this to me?
Sarah's eyes begin to water. Her hand TREMBLES as she wipes
a tear from her eye.
DENISE
I know the two of them had a thing
back in high school but that was
years ago. Don't worry sweetie,
I'm sure it was nothing.
Denise starts to feel a sense of accomplishment. She was
always jealous of Sarah and her natural beauty. Denise goes
to give Sarah a hug. Sarah lets go of Denise and turns to
the mirror to fix her mascara.
SARAH
I can't believe he would do
something like this.
Sarah walks out of the bathroom and moves towards Mike who
is patiently waiting for her.She storms towards him and Mike
begins to look concerned.
SARAH (CONT'D)
Mike how could you? Please tell me
you weren't with Jennifer.
MICHEAL
What are you talking about?
SARAH
Where you with Jennifer two weeks
ago?
MICHEAL
Yeah, but...
SARAH
But nothing Mike. It's over. I'll
find my own ride home.
Mike struggles to stand up and knocks over a glass of water
on the table. He picks the glass up and looks towards Sarah.
MICHEAL
Jennifer is a wedding planner. She
was going over some ideas with me
for our wedding.
Sarah didn't hear a single word Mike said and runs towards
the host. She begins to cry and gives the host A LOOK OF
URGENCY.
SARAH
(Crying)
Can.... Can you please call me a
cab?
HOST
Sure, but there is one already
outside.
SARAH
Thank you.
Mike looks down at the table. He quickly pulls out his
wallet and throws some money on the table for the waiter.
Sarah RUNS OUT THE FRONT DOOR.
MICHEAL
SARAH WAIT! JUST WAIT A MINUTE!
PLEASE!!!
Mike is starting to head for the front door but is STOPPED
BY THE WAITER.
WAITER
Sir, the ring. Let me get it for
you.
Frustrated and worried he loosens his tie. He looks to his
left and sees Denise standing there with her arms folded and
a smirk on her face. Her boyfriend is siting at the table
not knowing what just happen.
MICHEAL
(whispers to
himself)
I should have known.
The waiter rushes back to him and hands him the ring. Mike
takes the ring and runs to the front door. He passes right
by the table where the stranger was sitting. But, ONLY A
GLASS WITH A CIGARETTE IN IT, REMAINS...
EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT
The rain is coming down hard and Sarah grabs a newspaper
from a bin beside her. She runs to the cab that is parked
across the street. She gets inside of the cab.
DRIVER
Where would you like to go?
SARAH
Any where? I just need to think
for a while.
Mike runs outside for her but, he is too late. We see the
cab pulling away down the street. He looks at the ring in
the palm of his hand.
BEAT.
He places it back in his pocket and walks to his car. His
heart feels heavy as the rain falls upon him.
EXT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
The cab pulls up. Sarah walks out of the car. The
neighborhood is quite. The moon is casting a dim light over
the street. The stars shine like perfectly cut diamonds. The
house has a yellow porch light with a small set of stairs
leading to the front door.
She notices the bedroom light is on. She stares at the
bedroom window and is overcome by a rush of emotion. Pulling
herself together she walks to the front door and unlocks it.
INT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
She walks inside and LOCKS THE DOOR. The home is well kept
with a few hand me downs. There is a few pictures of Sarah
and Mike on the walls. There is a picture in a black frame
from a picnic, an amusement park and a picture of them
standing on the front porch. Sarah walks to the back bedroom
to look for Mike. She walks inside and looks around.
SARAH
Mike.
(Beat)
MIKE!
The bedroom has a small T.V. in the corner. A white bed sits
in the middle with a see through white lace wrapped around
the post. She opens the bathroom door and reaches for the
light switch. No one is there. The bathroom is small with a
tiny tube and a toilet right beside it.
She begins to walk back to the kitchen. Looks around and she
doesn't see him. She walks towards the loft behind the
kitchen. There's a shadow of someone sitting in A CHAIR, IN
THE DARK.
SARAH (CONT'D)
MIKE! Why didn't you answer me?
Sarah reaches for THE LIGHT SWITCH ON THE WALL. The light
fills the dark room. We see Mike bound and gagged in a
chair. Her face drains of color and she quickly runs to his
aid. She pulls the blind fold off and starts to untie his
feet.
SARAH (CONT'D)
Mike, what the hell happened to
you?
Mike's eyes become wide with fear. A muffled scream pours
out from the duct tape.Sarah looks up at Mike with a horrid
look and she is quickly grabbed from behind.
She is picked up by her waist and struggles with the
stranger. She takes a glimpse of him THROUGH A MIRROR across
from her. She sees A MAN WITH A SCAR THAT RUNS FROM HIS EYE
DOWN TO HIS JAW. She is quickly hit in the back of the head
and passes out.
BEAT.
Sarah dazed, opens her eyes and sees nothing. She notices
that her mouth is taped shut and she is blind folded. She
begins to moan and the stranger touches her shoulder.
STRANGER
(Scratchy deep
voice)
SHHHH! I have been waiting for
this moment way too long.
(Beat)
You have such great beauty. What a
shame this will all have to go to
waste.
Sarah begins to squirm and SCREAMS THROUGH THE DUCT TAPE.
SARAH
(Muffled)
HEEELLLP!!!
STRANGER
The quieter you are the less
painful this will be for the both
of you.
Sarah sits still and doesn't say a word. The stranger
reaches for the tape on her mouth. He rips it off with one
swift motion.
SARAH
(Scared)
What do you want? I will give you
anything. Just please let us go.
STRANGER
Don't worry. I'll be done real
soon.
SARAH
(Screams)
HELP! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
The stranger places his hand with a black leather glove over
her mouth.
STRANGER
IF YOU SAY ONE MORE WORD I WILL
KILL YOUR FUCKING BOYFRIEND!!!
The Stranger stares at Mike with a menacing look.
STRANGER (CONT'D)
Wouldn't that be nice?
The stranger lets go of her mouth. Sarah's lips begin to
quiver. The stranger looks back at her and begins to touch
her breast and moves towards her thigh. He places his lips
softly against hers.
SARAH
(Whispers)
Please don't.
The stranger stands up WITH ANGER.
STRANGER
I TOLD YOU NOT TO SAY A WORD!
He pulls an ice pick form his back pocket and stabs Mike in
the side of his ribs, three times. Mike begins to moan and
leans over. Sarah can hear the ice pick puncture Mike in the
side.
SARAH
(Screams)
WILL SOMEONE HELP ME! PLEASE!!!
SOMEONE.. HELP.. ME!!
CUT TO:
EXT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
The neighbor next door pulls up in a red car with a woman.
He steps out of the car and opens the door for his date. He
hears a scream and looks towards the white house.
NEIGHBOR
Did you hear something?
DATE
Yeah, it sounded like someone was
screaming.
NEIGHBOR
Stay here and call 911. I'll be
right back.
DATE
Please be careful.
The neighbor runs to the front door of the white house and
grabs the knob. He notices it is locked.
NEIGHBOR
Is everything alright in there?
INT. WHITE HOUSE - NIGHT
The stranger turns towards the door and then looks towards
Sarah.
SARAH
PLEASE HELP ME!
The stranger hits Sarah in the mouth. She falls over on her
side. The neighbor begins to hit the door with his shoulder.
The Stranger bends down and takes his ice pick and STABS
SARAH IN THE STOMACH.
STRANGER
I told you I could have made this
much, much easier for the both of
you.
He stands up and walks SLOWLY to the back door and
DISAPPEARS INTO THE DARK. The neighbor finally BREAKS THE
DOOR DOWN. He sees a man and a woman tied up in a chair. He
rushes towards Sarah.He bends down and picks her head up. He
removes the blind fold.
NEIGHBOR
(Startled)
COME ON, YOU HAVE TO STAY WITH ME!
(Beat)
Don't close your eyes. The police
are on their way.
Sarah closes her eyes and falls into a deep sleep.
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Sarah begins to come to. She opens her eyes and sees a
blurry vision of a woman in a sun dress. The woman has brown
short hair with a trainers physique. She places her hand on
Sarah's wrist and begins to rub her forearm. The sound of
the heart monitor is not easily missed. The sun starts to
breakthrough the blinds in the corner of the room.
WOMAN
Sarah, everything is going to be
OK.
She leans over and embraces Sarah.
WOMAN (CONT'D)
I promise we'll catch this
ASSHOLE. One way or another we'll
catch him.
Sarah slowly moves her arm to rub her eyes. She notices a
sharp pain in here stomach. She lifts her hospital gown and
sees a bandage with a blood spot in the middle on her
stomach. Sarah looks back up at the woman and her vision
becomes clearer.
SARAH
Jasmine?
(Beat)
Where's your brother?
Jasmine closes her eyes and places her hand on her forehead.
She tries to hold it in but she can't.
JASMINE
(Shaken)
HE....
(Beat)
He didn't make it. By the time the
ambulance made it to the house...
(Beat)
He already lost too much blood...
(Beat)
There was nothing they could do.
Jasmine bends over to hug Sarah and the two begin to cry.
Jasmine lets go and stands up to wipe her eyes.
Sarah begins to struggle with her breathing. The heart
monitor starts to race. Jasmine Softly pushes Sarah against
the bed for her to lie down. She quickly looks out the door
for a nurse.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Nurse!! She is starting
hyperventilate.
The Nurse rushes in and gives her A SHOT to clam here down.
The Nurse looks at Jasmine and then back to the heart
monitor.
NURSE
(Agitated)
She is very lucky to be alive. She
lost a lot of blood and her injury
was almost fatal. Please try to
keep her clam. Her body might not
be able to take anything else.
JASMINE
OK, sorry.
Sarah quickly falls asleep. She starts to dream of the night
of the murder.
CUT TO:
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
She sees herself at the restaurant with Mike. After the
fight, she quickly rushes to the host. She remembers seeing
a man in the corner of the room. She remembers the scar that
ran down the side of his face.
CUT TO:
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Sarah wakes up. A COP is seen with Jasmine at her bedside.
COP
Sarah, how are you feeling?
Sarah rolls over to her side and stares out the window.
COP (CONT'D)
Well, when you feel better I need
you to come down to the station.
(beat)
We need a description of the man
that was in your home last night.
The cop looks towards Jasmine and hands her a card with the
station's address and number.
COP (CONT'D)
Can you make sure she comes to the
station as soon as possible?
JASMINE
Sure, and thank you officer.
COP
No problem.
The cop turns to look at Sarah.
COP (CONT'D)
Take care of yourself Sarah.
You're very lucky. Don't worry, we
will catch this killer.
The Cop gives Jasmine and Sarah a nod and walks out the
door. Jasmine closes the door and walks back to Sarah.
JASMINE
The doctor said it was OK for you
to check out when you're ready.
Sarah rolls over and looks at Jasmine.
SARAH
Alright.
JASMINE
I'm going to go down stairs and
get you something light to eat.
Take your time getting ready, I'll
be right back.
Sarah rolls back over and stares outside the window. She
feels the warmth of the sun's rays beating gently on her
face. She remembers the first day she met Micheal. She sees
herself at the library.
INT. LIBRARY - DAY
Sarah is sitting at a small table. She is writing down a few
notes from a book. Her hands run through her hair as she
pulls it back into a ponytail. She looks through a few pages
and stacks her books together to leave. As she stands a
young woman bumps into her and knocks her books over. The
young woman continues to walk by like nothing ever happen.
Sarah bends down to pick her books up and shakes her head.
The frustration is easily seen. Micheal walks by and sees
her picking up her books and stops.
MICHEAL
Do you need some help?
SARAH
No thanks, I'm OK.
Micheal bends down to pick up a few books that remain on the
floor.
MICHEAL
Here let me get these for you. My
name is Mike.
A beautiful smile slowly develops on Sarah.
SARAH
Hi, I'm Sarah.
MICHEAL
What are you studying?
SARAH
I'm just looking through a few
things. I really don't know what I
want to do in life. So I just
randomly read books of all kinds.
MICHEAL
Interesting.
SARAH
I know, I'm just boring you. I
should go.
Micheal gently places his hand on Sarah's shoulder to stop
her from leaving.
MICHEAL
Wait, I was just getting to know
you.
SARAH
I should really get going. It's
getting late.
MICHEAL
Well maybe, I can take you out for
a bite to eat or a cup of coffee
or something?
SARAH
Sure, if you like.
MICHEAL
Can I get your phone number?
SARAH
(Surprised)
Alright, let me get a piece of
paper.
She grabs a note book and rips a piece of paper out. A few
numbers are written on the note along with her name.
SARAH (CONT)
Here you go.
MICHEAL
Thanks. Can I call you tomorrow?
SARAH
Yeah, If you like. I don't have
anything planed.
MICHEAL
OK, well. I will see ya tomorrow.
SARAH
OK bye.
Sarah walks away smiling.
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Sarah is staring out the window with a tear rolling down her
face. The nurse walks in to check on her.
NURSE
Is everything OK.
SARAH
Yeah. I'm fine.
NURSE
Alright, well take your time
getting ready. You don't have be
in a rush.
SARAH
Thank you.
The nurse closes the door. Sarah closes her eyes.
SARAH
(To herself)
Micheal, I love you.
INT. POLICE STATION - DAY
The phones are ringing. A CRIMINAL is getting his thumb
prints taken. Two women are standing behind the front desk
demanding that they let the criminal go. Sarah and Jasmine
walk in the front door slowly, for Sarah is still in a great
deal of pain. The two of them walk to the front desk and the
Police officer from the hospital sees them. He rushes to
Sarah.
COP
Sarah, please follow me.
They walk to the back room of the police station. The
Criminal sees Sarah and gives her a half smile. She looks
away trying her best not to make eye contact. Jasmine puts
her arm around her.
JASMINE
Don't pay any attention to him.
The Criminal is placed in a chair two desks over and
continues to stare at Sarah. The Cop pulls out two chairs
for them to sit in. He walks around to the other side of the
desk and sits down. He pulls a pen and a pad of paper out
from a drawer. A picture of his son in a football jersey
sits on his desk. On the other side is a empty cup of coffee
with a small picture of his wife.
COP
Now lets get started. Do you have
any enemies or do you know of
anyone that would want to hurt
you?
SARAH
No. Not that I know of anyway.
COP
Does Mike have any enemies or do
you know of anyone that would want
to hurt him?
SARAH
No.
COP
Did you get a good look at the
killer?
SARAH
(Frenzy)
YES! He has a scar that came
across the side of his face. I'm
almost positive I saw him at the
restaurant last night.
The cop starts to write down the descriptions that Sarah is
giving him. He stops for a minute and looks up.
COP
Did he have a scar that runs from
the corner of his eye to the
bottom of his face?
The cop runs his finger from his eye to the bottom of his
jaw. Sarah's raises her eyebrows while her eyes become wide
with fear. She is in shock.
SARAH
(Anxious)
YES! THAT'S HIM. THAT'S EXACTLY
THE MAN THAT WAS AT MY HOUSE AND
KILLED MY BOYFRIEND!
The cop stands up quickly.
COP
I have someone for you to meet. He
has been working on this case for
a while. He's the best detective
we have.
The Cop stands up and rushes over to the CAPTAIN'S office
where the DETECTIVE is. Sarah stares at the Cop as he
quickly moves to the back office. The Captain is going over
a few files with the Detective and the Cop knocks on the
door.
The Detective opens the door and the Cop says a few words to
the Detective. He points to where Jasmine and Sarah are
sitting.
The Detective looks over to Sarah. He gives her a PUZZLED
LOOK. The Detective walks back in the office and grabs four
files off the desk. He starts to walk towards Sarah and
Jasmine.
He is an average sized man with dark hair and green eyes. He
reaches out his hand towards Sarah.
SETH
Hi, my name is Detective Adams. Or
you can just call me Seth.
SARAH
Hi, I'm Sarah and this is my
friend Jasmine.
Seth reaches to shake Jasmine's hand and places the four
files on the desk. He pulls a chair out and takes a seat.
SETH
I heard what happened last night
and I'm sorry for you're lose. I
know that this will be very
difficult for you both but, the
faster you can help me, the faster
I can catch this killer and put
him away for life.
Seth pulls a picture out of each file and places them in
front of Sarah.
SETH (CONT'D)
Do any of these people look like
the man that was in your home last
night.
Sarah picks up the pictures. The first picture she sees is a
man in his mid thirties with a stocky build and has a shaved
head. He has a birth mark that warps around his eye like a
eye patch.
SETH (CONT)
His name is Bernard Warren. AKA
THE STRANGLER. He was brought in a
while ago for beating someone to
death with his own fist. He hit
the person so hard the victim
skull split wide open.
Sarah places the photo down and looks at the second picture.
She sees a man in his mid twenties with tattoos on his neck
that run up to the side of his face.
SETH (CONT)
His name is Vince Acton. He is a
man that doesn't understand the
word fear. He was abused as a
child and grew up to be a wealthy
drug dealer. He is very disturbed
and doesn't know reality from
fiction. He wears a metal mask of
a skull and sneaks into victim's
homes. The mask makes him look
like a ghost floating in the dark.
She places that picture down next to the first one. Then
picks up the third picture. She sees a man in his mid
thirties that has a scar on the side of his face.
Sarah quickly stands up. She holds the picture up to the
light and covers her mouth with her other hand to prevent
from screaming.
SARAH
(Hysterically)
THAT'S HIM. THIS IS THE MAN THAT
TRIED TO KILL ME.
Jasmine stands up to hug Sarah.
JASMINE
SHHHH! It's OK. They'll catch him
don't worry.
Seth picks up his file and starts to read his profile.
SETH
His name is Andrew Anderson also
known as the ICE PICK KILLER. His
first murder was.
(Beat)
His wife. Allegedly she tried to
kill him but he ended up
decapitating her while she was six
months pregnant. Her head was
never found. Ever since that night
he has stalked beautiful women.
(Beat)
Then kills them with an ice pick.
Sarah's hand is trembling as she puts the picture down. She
looks at each picture and studies them. She is in disbelief
of how many serial killers are on the loose.
SARAH
How long have you been working on
these killers?
SETH
Five years to be exact.
SARAH
And you haven't been able to catch
any of them?
SETH
(Upset)
I have caught 17 serial killers
all over the U.S. I'm very close
to putting all of these killers
behind bars. Sarah trust me, don't
worry.
SARAH
Don't worry? This man is still out
there.
SETH
Look, I just got a tip from the
Andrew's brother in law. He was
seen this very morning at home
where he lived with his wife. We
have officers on the look out. We
feel he will be back very soon.
Sarah picks up the last photo. It is a blurry picture of an
older man in his late Forties. He has partial gray hair with
reading glasses.
SARAH
He doesn't look like a killer.
SETH
That man right there will put NASA
engineers to shame. He is one of
the smartest serial killers ever
known. This photo was taken by a
satellite. We have never gotten
more than ten feet from this man.
He seems to use Saddam Hussein
method of body doubles. We never
know where or who he really is.
Seth is interrupted by the Captain with some news about the
Ice Pick Killer.
CAPTAIN
We just got a phone call with
information on the where abouts of
the Ice Pick Killer.
Seth looks to Sarah and Jasmine.
SETH
You'll have to excuse me. I need
to handle this. We have everything
we need, so don't worry.
Seth pulls a card from his wallet.
SETH
Here, call me if you need
anything. Just promise me, you'll
stay with someone until we capture
this man.
SARAH
Yeah, I'll be with Jasmine.
SETH
OK. Just give us the address so we
can have a patrol car in front of
your home.
Sarah grabs the pen and paper off the desk.
SARAH
Here, it's 2127 West Pine Dr.
SETH
Do.. not.. contact.. anyone! Not
even your parents or friends. NO
ONE! If he finds out you are still
alive he won't stop until he finds
you.
SARAH
(Worried)
OK.
Seth walks with the Captain back to the Captain's office.
JASMINE
Come on. Lets get you to my place
so you can rest.
SARAH
Alright.
The criminal two desk over watches Sarah and Jasmine with a
smile as they walk out of the police station.
INT. CAPTAIN'S OFFICE - DAY
The Captain and Seth are looking over a few notes on a black
board. It has the side profiles of the three killers and a
satellite CLEAR VIEW of the forth killer. There is a small
desk with a picture of the Captain's to sons and daughter.
Along with a few plaques for his hard work over the past
twenty five years.
CAPTAIN
It's a miracle she's still alive.
SETH
If it wasn't for the neighbor she
would've been dead.
CAPTAIN
Probably. I just got a call from a
deputy that the Ice Pick Killer is
in the house. I'm just waiting for
a positive ID.
SETH
I'm pretty sure its him.
CAPTAIN
Ya, well last time it was some
punk kids trying to get a look at
a murder scene.
SETH
I have a good feeling its him. He
has nothing left. He's looking for
reason to give up.
CAPTAIN
Maybe.
The phone rings. The Captain leans over.
CAPTAIN (CONT)
Hello?
(Beat)
Are you sure?
(Beat)
Alright don't do anything until I
get there.
(Beat)
OK,OK. Thank you.
The Captain hangs up the phone and looks at Seth.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
He's there. I want to bring him in
alive, you got it.
SETH
Yes, I got it. You're sending the
S.W.A.T. team, right?
CAPTAIN
Of course, I'm not even giving him
a chance to run off this time.
Seth and the Captain rush out of the office.
EXT. ICE PICK KILLER'S HOME - DAY
The captain and Seth pull up in an unmarked car. They stop
two houses away and observe the home. The Captain pulls out
binoculars and zooms in on the home.
CAPTAIN
I don't see anyone moving around.
SETH
Let me go and scope it out. He
might be waiting for us.
CAPTAIN
Alright, you have ten minutes and
nothing more. I'll send back up in
to take him down.
Seth gets out of the car and walks through the back yard. He
approaches the home with caution. A dog from the neighbors
yard runs full speed towards Seth. The dog stops just short
of Seth's face and barks ferociously. Seth steps back slowly
and walks towards the back door. He walks up the small set
of stairs and grabs the knob. It's locked.
SETH
(To himself)
Shit!
He walks towards a window and slides it open. The room is
quite and dark. He hops up to the edge and slides in.
INT. ICE PICK KILLER'S HOME - DAY
He stands up and sees the home undisturbed from the
investigation. There is very little light pouring in from
the curtains. He draws his gun with a flash light in the
other hand.
SETH
Hello? Anyone home?
He moves down the hallway and looks up the stairs. We hear
foots steps walking down a set of stairs. He walks back to a
door that is half way open in the hallway. SETH SLOWLY OPENS
THE DOOR AND LOOKS DOWN THE STAIRS.
SETH
Hello?
He gradually moves down the stairs. We see a washer and
dryer in the corner. We hear a METAL CLINKING NOISE. He
turns to the corner of the room. A metal pipe is rolling on
the floor. Seth starts to smell something awful.
He turns back around and continues to follow the smell. He
sees a small spot of blood on the floor. He turns the flash
light to the ceiling and sees a red ring of blood on a piece
of wood. Seth uses his gun to see if the board will move. IT
DOES. HE SLIDES THE BOARD BACK AND A WOMAN'S HEAD FALLS FROM
THE CEILING.
Seth picks the head up by the hair and flashes the
flashlight towards it. He hears someone behind him.
ICE PICK KILLER
AHHHH!!!!
The Ice Pick Killer runs towards Seth and tackles him to the
ground. Seth's gun flies out of his hand and lands on the
ground. The Ice Pick Killer starts to punch Seth in the face
and then tries to reach for his gun. Seth Kicks him in the
ribs and picks up his gun.
SETH
IT'S OVER!
Seth puts two rounds directly in the head of the Ice Pick
Killer. He falls directly on his back. The front door is
quickly knocked down.
S.W.A.T
ALL CLEAR!
Footsteps are heard running down the stairs. Seth is staring
at the Ice Pick Killer. The S.W.A.T. Team fills the room and
the Captain walks out from behind.
CAPTAIN
What happen?
SETH
I found his wife's head hidden in
here.
(Beat)
He was watching me the whole time.
He tried to kill me.
CAPTAIN
Dammit Seth, I knew I shouldn't
have let you go alone.
One of the S.W.A.T. members bends down towards the Ice Pick
Killer and picks up an Ice Pick from his hand.
SETH
He wanted this. He was waiting for
someone to end his life. He cut
his wife's head off and hid it her
for us to find. He could have just
easily shot me from behind. But he
didn't he wanted me to kill him.
CAPTAIN
Alright, lets wrap this up boys.
Bag him and get him the hell out
of here.
The Captain looks around the room.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
Next time try to bring the suspect
in alive.
Seth bends down and stares at the Ice Pick Killer with a
crooked smile.
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Sarah is sitting on the couch with a white rob on. A towel
is wrapped around the top of her head. She is just staring
into space with no emotion. Jasmine is in the kitchen
cutting up some fruit. The PHONE RINGS. Jasmine walks to the
corner of the kitchen.
JASMINE
Hello?
(Beat)
Hold on one second.
Jasmine walks over to Sarah with the cordless phone.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Here, it's Detective Adams.
SARAH
Hello?
(Beat)
Really, are you sure?
(Beat)
How did you find him?
Sarah shows a sign of relief.
SARAH (CONT'D)
I can't believe this. Thank you so
much Seth.
(Beat)
Alright, goodbye.
Sarah puts the phone down and looks at Jasmine.
SARAH (CONT'D)
I can't believe it.
(Beat)
They caught him.
JASMINE
They found him?
SARAH
Yeah, they found him in his home
and he tried to kill Seth.
JASMINE
What? Is he OK?
SARAH
Yeah, Seth struggled with him and
he ended up killing him.
Jasmine runs to Sarah and wraps her arms around her.
JASMINE
I knew they would catch him. I
just knew it. See, now everything
is going to be just fine. My
brother can rest in peace.
Jasmine closes her eyes and embraces Sarah.
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
The sky is gray and gloomy. Cars are pulling up through the
front entrance of the Cemetery. People are getting out of
their cars dressed in black and some are holding black
umbrellas. Sarah is seen walking with Jasmine through a
crowd to the front. A CLOSED BLACK CASKET is in the middle
with a few roses on top. A old oak tree hovers over the
crowd.
Sarah is seen staring at the casket in a daze. She is
standing there motionless with a few tears running off her
face. The dark clouds are covering the cemetery like a
blanket. A small amount of fog is wrapped around a few head
stones. A hand is seen slowly approaching Sarah's shoulder.
Sarah is startled and turns around.
She sees a woman in a black dress with a hat that has a veil
on the front.
SARAH
(Scared)
Ah, Jennifer you scared me.
JENNIFER
I'm sorry Sarah. I didn't mean to
scare you.
Jennifer leans over to hug Sarah.
JENNIFER (CONT'D)
I'm so sorry to hear what happen.
Mike was a great man. He loved you
more than you'll ever know.
SARAH
Thank you.
JENNIFER
Jasmine called me yesterday and
told me everything. I just wanted
you to know that Mike was with me
that night going over a few
wedding plans. He wanted to make
sure he could afford the absolute
best wedding for you.
Sarah starts to feel weak and leans on Jennifer. Jennifer
holds her up and walks her to a chair to sit down.
JENNIFER (CONT'D)
I know that bitch Denise tried to
get a rise out of you. But, it
just wasn't true.
SARAH
I know. I just wish I could have
told Mike how much I loved him. He
was everything to me.
Across from Sarah and Jennifer is Denise watching them. She
is standing there with her boyfriend hidden within the crowd
of people. She shows no emotion or regret for what happen to
Mike. She looks over to her boyfriend Dave Anderson. He has
a small build with brown hair and blue eyes.
DENISE
Awwwe, Sarah. She looks so sad.
DAVE
You don't have to act like that.
Especially here of all places.
DENISE
I'm came right?
DAVE
I guess.
DENISE
I don't even know why I brought
you here. This place is starting
to bring me down. Get your crap
and lets go.
Dave and Denise grab there things and head to the car. Sarah
sees a couple walking towards the road. She notices the
blond hair and realizes that it was Denise.
SARAH
I can't believe she even came.
JENNIFER
Just let her go. She'll get hers.
Sarah sees a black car pull up. She sees Seth in dress blues
walking out of the car.
SARAH
Hold on Jennifer, I'll be right
back.
Sarah stands up and runs towards Seth. She starts to admire
how great he looks in his uniform and begins to smile. She
walks towards Seth holding her arms out.
SARAH
Thank you Seth for everything and
thank you for coming.
SETH
(Smiles)
No problem. Lets just hope the
rain holds out.
Sarah puts her arm around his and walks with him to the
front row of the ceremony. The priest is getting ready to
start. He opens his bible and looks up to the gray sky.
PRIEST
(Concerned)
Lets take our seats and get
started. The weather might not
hold much longer.
Sarah takes her seat with Seth. Jasmine is sitting next to
her along with her mother and father. A few drops of rain
hit the black Coffin and roll off the side. Jasmine's mother
is crying and holding a white napkin in her hand. Her
husband is staring at the coffin with a blank face.
He is in shock of how Mike was taken away without a moments
notice. The Priest looks towards the crowd.
PRIEST
We are gathered here to commend
Mike Mathews to the hands of God.
A few soft sounds of thunder roar through the sky. The rain
starts to come down quickly.
INT. CEMETERY GATE - DAY
A small blue car is seen pulling up from behind the crowd. A
stocky man gets out with a black coat and a shaved head and
glasses on. He resembles the photo of the man with the birth
mark around his eye.
He stands off in the distance. He is in the middle of the
street in the rain and no one notices him.
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
The rain is gradually flowing down. The priest is fishing up
the service. The black coffin is starting to lower into the
ground.
PRIEST
We therefore commit his body to
the ground; earth to earth, ashes
to ashes, dust to dust, in the
sure and certain hope of the
resurrection to eternal life.
The coffin reaches the bottom and Sarah gets up from her
chair and looks down in the grave. She pulls a picture out
and lets go. It shows Mike and Sarah smiling and holding
each other. The picture slowly floats to the bottom and
lands on top of the coffin. The crowd is breaking up and
walking to their cars.
CUT TO:
INT. CEMETERY GATE - DAY
The man in the blue car has disappeared. The crowd is seen
walking to there cars and driving away one by one.
CUT TO:
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
Sarah is still standing by the grave as Seth walks up to
her. He places his arm around her and holds a umbrella over
her. Jasmine is still sitting in the front row with her
parents. Her father stands up slowly and holds his hand out
for his wife.
She reaches towards him and stands up. They slowly walk back
to the black limo. Jasmine is walking with her mother's
other arm as Sarah continues to stare into the grave.
SETH
Lets get you home and get you some
dry clothes.
Sarah nods and turns towards the black limo. Seth opens the
door and helps her in.
SETH (CONT'D)
I'll call you later to see how
you're doing.
SARAH
Thank you.
Seth closes the limos door and walks back to his car. He
opens the door and gets inside. We see a plastic crime scene
bag with a ICE PICK in the passenger seat. He places his
keys into the ignition and starts the car.
INT. SETH'S HOME - NIGHT
Seth walks in his home and places his keys on the table next
to the front door. His home is very clean with a few
priceless painting. There is a couple of black and white
photos of the city at night.
He walks to the kitchen and checks his answering machine.
There are no messages to listen to. He walks upstairs to his
bedroom. On a dresser is a picture with a few newspaper
clippings in the frame.
He picks up the FRAME OFF THE DRESSER and begins to read the
clippings in his head. "WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN HOME. KILLER IS
STILL ON THE LOOSE." Seth puts the frame down and starts to
unbutton his coat. He places it on his bed and walks towards
his closet. He opens the door and flips the switch.
He pulls out some slacks and a shirt and lays them out on a
chair. He starts to unbutton his shirt and walks to the
shower. The water flows from the shower head. He stares at
the mirror and smiles.
SETH
One solved three to go! Soon
you'll be the most honored
detective at the precinct.
The phone suddenly rings. Seth walks towards the phone in
his room that is siting on a small table in the corner. He
sits on the bed and picks up the phone.
SETH
Hello?
(Beat)
Hi, Sarah how are you? Are you OK?
(Beat)
That's good.
Seth stands up and stares out the bedroom window. He looks
towards the street as if he was waiting for someone.
He turns around and smiles.
SETH
Sure. No problem, I'll pick you up
around eight.
(Beat)
Alright, just get some sleep and
I'll see you tomorrow.
(Beat)
Alright, bye.
He hangs the phone up and walks back towards the shower with
a smile on his face.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is siting on a bed with a SKIMPY NIGHT GOWN on. She is
hanging up the phone and looks towards Jasmine who is
sitting across for her.
JASMINE
Well?
SARAH
He said yes. It's just I need to
get some answers. I need to know
why this has happened to me.
(Beat)
I hope he can help.
JASMINE
He will. Just try to keep it
together, you've been through a
lot.
SARAH
I'm trying. How do you deal with
everything?
JASMINE
I don't know. I just try to stay
positive. I know Mike is in Heaven
watching over us. I try to talk to
him every night before I go to
bed.
SARAH
I thought we would always have
each other. No matter what.
JASMINE
I know as hard as it sounds, but
we have to move on. We just have
to. Mike would've wanted it that
way.
Sarah places her arms around her knees and turns towards the
window. She looks to the street and sees a black BMW driving
along the road.
CUT TO:
INT. BMW CAR - NIGHT
Denise is driving and Dave is looking through her purse for
her phone.
DENISE
Did you find it?
DAVE
NO! I think you left it at the gas
station.
SARAH
Just forget it then. I'll call
them when we get home. You're
worthless, you know that right?
Dave looks at her and takes his hand and starts to slide it
up her dress. He looks back up at her face to find her
approval.
DAVE
I'm sure that I'm worth something
to you.
DAVE
(Smiling)
We'll see.
The car begins to speed up as Denise starts to moan. She
finds it exciting and opens her legs a little more. The car
heads towards a vehicle on the side of a street. She quickly
turns the wheel to avoid hitting a parked car.
SARAH
Let's just save it for when we get
home.
DAVE
Why, you can't handle it?
SARAH
Will see, won't we.
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The black BMW pulls up in the driveway. Denise and Dave get
out of the car. Denise steps out and stumbles in her high
heels. Dave runs around the car and grabs her.
SARAH
Oops! Maybe I had a little too
much to drink.
DAVE
You're fine.
(Beat)
Let's just get inside.
They continue towards the front door. A dark shadow is seen
moving in the bushes around the corner. Dave sees something
move within the corner of his eye. He turns towards the
bushes and nothing is there.
DENISE
What?
DAVE
Nothing. I thought I saw
something.
The front door closes and the shadow is seen moving along
the side of the house.
INT. DENISE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Dave turns on a light and Denise is seen leaning on his
shoulder. She stands up straight and walks towards the
kitchen. She opens the fridge and pulls out some fruit. The
home is very well kept. It has a high class atmosphere with
a few sculptures.
Dave walks towards the couch and picks up the remote. He
turns to ESPN for the latest updates on the game. Denise
hears the TV and turns the kitchen light off and walks
towards the living room.
DENISE
What do you think you're doing?
DAVE
I just wanted to see the end of
the game.
Denise turns around and bends over exposing her thong and
ass to Dave. She looks over her shoulder towards Dave.
DENISE
If you want some of this you
better get your butt up stairs.
Dave turns off the TV and jumps over the couch and picks up
Denise.
DENISE
(Giggling)
I thought that would get you're
attention.
DAVE
(Smiling)
Don't worry, I'm going to take
good care of you.
The couple is seen walking up the stairs. A dark shadow of a
man moves through the kitchen and quickly disappears.
INT. DENISE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT
Denise is walking towards the bathroom as Dave is turning on
the stereo and putting in a CD. Denise is seen in the
bathroom mirror taking her dress off and leaving on her RED
THONG and high heels. Dave jumps towards the bed and kicks
off his shoes and pulls off his shirt.
He takes his pants off and gets underneath the covers.
Denise turns the light off and walks out of the bathroom.
She starts to slowly walk towards Dave moving her body along
with the music.
Denise jumps on the bed and gets on top of Dave. She begins
to lick his chest and slowly moves towards his neck. She
takes her hand and with her long nails scratches his chest.
A small trail of blood begins to form along with a few red
marks.
DAVE
AHHH! DAM DENISE! Do you always
have to be so rough?
DENISE
Don't be such a pussy.
CUT TO:
INT. DENISE'S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
A man is seen from behind walking up the stairs. He has a
shaved head and is dressed in all black. He slowly walks up
the stairs grabbing the rail with a black leather glove. He
stops and listens. A few moans come from the room.
CUT TO:
INT. DENISE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT
Denise is seen on top of Dave. Her breast are moving up and
down along with her body. She quickly stops.
Beat.
DENISE
I'm starting to get bored. Why
don't you do some of the work for
once.
DAVE
(Shocked)
Are you kidding me? You're bored?
DENISE
(Sighs)
Just do it from behind.
Dave stands up and moves behind Denise. His back is towards
the bathroom and the bedroom door. We see the door knob
slowly turning.
DAVE
ARE YOU BORED NOW!
DENISE
SHH! I'm trying to concentrate.
The bedroom door is fully open and a man is seen standing at
the doorway. He is the man in the photo at the police
station. He has a birth mark that warps around his eye. A
emotionless expression is seen on his face. A thin wire
unravels from within his hands. He slowly walks towards Dave
from behind.
DENISE
Go faster.
Dave begins to move faster. The STRANGLER STANDS QUIETLY
from behind. Dave has his eyes closed trying his very best
to please Denise. The Strangler slowly places the wire in
front of his neck. With one SWIFT MOTION he strangles
Dave.HIS EYES OPEN WIDE WITH FEAR. He reaches for the man
behind him with all of his might. His body starts to go into
convolutions.
DENISE
Ooh! That's it. Keep it up baby.
Dave's body goes limp and the strangler throws him to the
grown.
DENISE
Why'd you stop? I was almost
there.
Denise turns around to look at Dave and sees a man in black
staring at her.
DENISE
(Screams)
AAHHH!!!!
The strangler grabs her by the throat and picks her up with
one arm and slams her head against the wall. She starts to
kick and claw at the strangler. He slams her head against
the wall a second time and drops her. Her body goes limp and
starts to twitch. He gabs her by her hair and wraps the wire
around her throat and squeezes until she is motionless.
The strangler lets her go and stands there. He stares at her
body lying on the floor. He pulls out a large knife from
his coat. He holds the knife towards the light looking for
any imperfections. The knife is slowly pointed towards he
chest. With one forceful motion it runs down the center of
her chest cutting her wide open.
The blood runs down the sides of her body. The Strangler
pulls the skin back and runs his hands along the rib cage.
"SNAP" we hear the rib cage breaking apart.
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
A small car pulls up in the driveway. IT has a magnet sign
on the side that reads "MIGHTY MAIDS" with a phone number is
listed . A Spanish woman gets out of the car and walks to
the passenger side. She opens the door and picks up her
chihuahua and walks towards the home.
She has on a cleaning uniform on with white shoes. The
little chihuahua has a white coat matching her uniform. She
walks to the front door and unlocks it.
INT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
She walks inside and places her dog on the floor. The dog
runs straight upstairs. She looks up.
MAID
(Yells)
CHI CHI. Get down here, right now!
The Maid sees the kitchen a mess and walks towards the
refrigerator. She sees Denise's purse on the table.
MAID
(Yells)
Miss Martin, I'm going to get
started in the kitchen!
(Beat)
HELLO!
The dog begins to bark as the Maid walks towards the stairs.
The Maid begins to feel uncomfortable. She starts to walk
with caution.
MAID
(Worried)
Miss Martin, are you awake?
(Beat)
Hello?
The Maid sees the bedroom door cracked open. Chi Chi comes
running out the door with her noise red with blood and a
piece of meat in her mouth. The maid bends over and picks up
her dog.
MAID
What do you have there?
She pulls a piece of meat out of Chi Chi's mouth. She
examines it and drops it. Her heart drops to the floor as
her face turns white. She slowly walks towards the bedroom
with her dog in her arm. She pushes the door open slowly.
MAID
Denise?
The door slowly opens. The room is red with blood. Denise's
head is lying right next to the maids feet. The Maid SCREAMS
WITH FEAR.
MAID
O MY GOD!!!
She drops the dog. The dog plops to the floor and runs down
stairs. The maid places her hands over her face SCREAMING in
disbelief.
She turns around and runs down stairs and grabs her cell
phone and calls the police.
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
Cop cars fill the street. The crime scene tape is being ran
across the yard. Captain Bowls is walking with one of the
police officers that acted on the 911 call.
CAPTAIN
What happen here?
COP 2
Someone broke in the home last
night and killed a man and a woman
upstairs. We believe it was Denise
Martin and Dave Anderson. But we
don't know for sure.
CAPTAIN
What do you mean you don't know
for sure?
COP 2
Their bodies are in pieces and
disfigured. We think the couple
was strangle to death first, then
chopped into pieces.
The Captain shakes his head with frustration. He places his
hands on his hip.
CAPTAIN
SHIT!!!
Seth is seen walking up to the home from his car. He stares
at the house with an anxious look. He walks straight to
Captain Bowls.
SETH
Who is it this time?
CAPTAIN
We believe it is Denise Martin and
Dave Anderson. But the bodies are
hard to identify. They were
strangled then chopped up into
pieces.
SETH
Wait. Did you say Denise Martin.
CAPTAIN
Yes, that's who we think it is
anyway.
SETH
That's one of Sarah's friends.
CAPTAIN
We'll, I wouldn't mention anything
to her. She has to much to worry
about already.
SETH
I don't think that should be a
problem. She wasn't very fond of
her to start with.
Seth takes a look around to see if anything was left behind
from the killer.
SETH
Any witnesses.
CAPTAIN
None. Not a single one.
A crime scene investigator walks quickly out of the front
door of the home. He has a VIDEO RECORDER in his hand. He
walks towards the Captain and opens the side of the camera
with a white glove.
INVESTIGATOR
It looks like this couple loved to
tape themselves having sex. This
was found behind a picture on a
dresser.
The Captain rewinds the tape and pushes play. We see the
couple having sex and the Strangler walks into the room.
SETH
Wait! Rewind it.
(Beat)
Stop. Push play.
(Beat)
Pause it.
The Captain pauses it right when the Strangler walks into
the room.
SETH (CONT'D)
(Excited)
It's the Strangler. Look you can
see his eye.
CAPTAIN
It's him alright.
The Captain closes the camera and gives it back to the
Investigator.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
Keep this with the rest of the
evidence you have.
INVESTIGATOR
Sure, no problem.
The Investigator takes the camera and walks back inside.
Seth's phone rings.
SETH
Hello?
(Beat)
Hey, Sarah
Seth turns away from the Captain and starts to walk towards
the street.
SETH
I will stop by around eight.
(Beat)
Alright no problem but, I have to
go, so I'll see you then.
(Beat)
OK Bye.
Seth walks back to where the Captain is. The Captain is
looking at a few footprints left in the mud next to the
bushes.
SETH
Have you been inside?
CAPTAIN
Not yet.
Seth walks towards the front door.
INT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
The home is surrounded by CITY OFFICIALS. Seth looks towards
a woman who is taking pictures of the kitchen.
SETH
Where are the bodies?
WOMAN 2
Upstairs, in the master bedroom.
Seth walks towards the stairs. He grabs the rail with his
white glove and pauses for a moment and closes his eyes. He
tries to get in tune with the killer. He wants to see what
the killer was seeing. His eyes open with a look of madness.
He feels a source of power from within.
He starts to take every footstep that the killer took. He
looks towards the master bedroom. He sees the door slightly
open. He slowly moves the door open and sees that the room
is covered with blood. Both bodies and parts are marked with
numbers and two men are walking around taking pictures.
Seth stands at the doorway trying to imagine exactly what
happen through his mind. The room transforms back to where
Denise and Dave where having sex. Seth quietly steps forward
and moves towards Dave. He stands behind Dave and places his
hands around him as if he was strangling him.
He acts like he places the body on the floor. He looks
towards Denise and grabs her by the throat. He sees a hole
in the wall and moves towards it. He throws his arm towards
the wall as if he just smashed her head in.
Seth pictures in his mind how Denise would kick and claw at
his face. He quickly snaps out of it and looks to the
ground. He sees small pieces of skin with bone shaving. He
turns towards the bedroom door and walks out.
CUT TO:
EXT. DENISE'S HOUSE - DAY
Seth is seen walking out the front door in a hurry. The
Captain stares at him as he is walking by.
CAPTAIN
Seth, is everything OK?
SETH
Yeah, I just need some time to
think.
Seth continues towards his car and gets inside and drives
off in a hurry. The investigator walks towards the Captain.
INVESTIGATOR
Is he going to be alright?
CAPTAIN
Yeah, I think so. He just blames
himself for not catching these
killers before they pick there
next victim.
INVESTIGATOR
Maybe, he should take some time
off.
Beat.
CAPTAIN
(Shakes his head)
He won't, not until he puts them
behind bars.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
We see Seth pull up to his home from inside his bedroom
through the window. He walks in from the front door. He
walks to the kitchen and checks the answering machine. No
messages.
Seth pulls out a glass from the sink. He grabs a bottle of
VODKA from the counter. He pours it in the glass until it's
half full. He slams it and places the glass on the counter
and fills it up half way again. He slams it down and places
the glass in the sink.
HE walks upstairs to the bedroom. He unbuttons his shirt and
turns the shower on. He stares into the mirror.
SETH
Your loosing it. Get it together
DAM IT. What the hell is wrong
with you, you're supposed to be
the best.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is in the bedroom going through Jasmine's closet
looking for some clothes. She finds a dark blue dress that
stops at the knees.
SARAH
What do you think about this one?
JASMINE
That'll look good on you. I
haven't worn that dress in years.
Sarah turns to a long mirror on the closet door. She places
it against her body. The blue dress flows along with her
shape.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
So, where you two going tonight?
SARAH
I don't know. I think I might try
to see if we can have dinner at
his place. I really don't feel
like going out.
JASMINE
Just be safe Sarah. You don't
really know Seth, that well...
SARAH
I know. I just need a little
comfort. What better person to
talk to then someone who puts
these killers away. Plus he's a
cop, how much safer do I need to
be.
Jasmine reaches over towards Sarah and gives her a hug.
JASMINE
You're right. Just be safe.
The door bell rings.
SARAH
Tell him I'll be right there.
JASMINE
Alright.
Jasmine walks towards the front door. She opens the door and
we see Seth standing there with a smile and a rose in his
hand.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Hello, Detective Adams.
SETH
May I come in?
JASMINE
Sure, come in. Sarah well be ready
in a minute. Just have a seat.
SETH
Thank you. You have a nice house.
It's clean.
JASMINE
Thank you. I think...
SETH
No, no I mean it's very well kept.
Sarah comes walking out of the hallway amazingly gorgeous.
She smiles and Seth becomes speechless.
SARAH
You ready.
SETH
Sure. Here this is for you.
Sarah sees the red rose. Her mind flashes back to where Mike
and her were having diner. The three white candles burning
with a single rose stood between them.
SETH
Sarah... Sarah... are you OK?
SARAH
(Blinks)
Yeah, I'm alright. Let's just go.
Sarah places the red rose on the kitchen counter.
JASMINE
Have fun, call me if you need
anything.
The couple are seen walking out the door.
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The porch light is bright, covering the front side of the
house. A few street lamps cover the side walk. Seth stops
half way down the stairs.
SETH
Where would you like to eat?
SARAH
I thought maybe we could have
dinner at your place.
SETH
Sure, that sounds great but, I
don't have anything to eat at my
place.
SARAH
Don't worry. We can grab a few
things at the grocery store. I can
make this awesome lasagna.
Seth walks to his car and opens the passenger side door. He
lets Sarah get in. He looks to the sky. Dark and dead
silent. The street light next to house struggles to stay
lit. Seth has a feeling that someone is watching him. He
stops behind the car and looks around. A neighbor across the
street is siting on the porch.
A dim light sits above him, all Seth can see is a figure of
a man. His face is blurry from the poor light. The neighbor
gives a slow wave. Seth eyes strain to get a clear view of
the man and continues towards the driver side door. The car
backs out of the driveway and continues down the street. The
dim light goes out across the street and the neighbor stands
up. He walks in the dark to his parked car along the
sidewalk. He drives cautiously behind Seth.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The front door opens. Seth and Sarah are seen walking in
with grocery's bags in their hands. They walk to the kitchen
and place the bag on the table. Sarah walks back to the
living room, Seth follows. She is amazed of how well kept
the home is. She starts to walk around looking at each photo
of the city.
SARAH
Did you take these pictures?
SETH
Ya, I like to take pictures of the
city with my spare time.
SARAH
They're amazing.
SETH
This city is my life. Even the
good and the bad.
Seth walks to the Kitchen to check the answering machine.
The ZERO is seen flashing. He reaches for the glass out of
the sink.
SETH
(Yells)
You want something to drink?
Sarah is still in the living room amazed by his photo's.
SARAH
(Yells)
Sure, what do you have?
Seth looks towards the counter and only sees a bottle of
vodka standing by it's self. He quickly remembers an old
bottle of red wine that's been setting in a rack under the
counter for a special occasion.
He pulls it out and wipes it.
SETH
(Yells)
I have some red wine.
SARAH
(Yells)
That sounds good.
Sarah walks towards the Kitchen as Seth is pulling a wine
opener out from the draw.
SARAH
What do you have there?
SETH
Just a little something that I've
been saving for a while.
SARAH
We'll lets just save it for
dinner.
Sarah takes some vegetables out from the paper bags. She
places them in the sink and washes them. Seth pulls out a
pot and fills it up with water. He places it on the stove
and turns it on.
SETH
Would you like to listen to some
music?
SARAH
Sure, what do you have?
SETH
Just the classics.
SARAH
That sounds good.
Seth walks to the living room and places a CD in the CD
player and pushes play. He stands up and sees himself in a
mirror. His mind quickly races back to when he was a child.
INT. SETH'S BEDROOM CHILDHOOD - NIGHT
He is looking into the mirror and we see him with a busted
nose and a black eye. The room is dark with very little
light. The walls are dark blue with cracks running
throughout them. A brown door towers over him and looks
badly beaten.
We hear a MAN'S voice from the hallway.
VOICE
(Angry)
BOY I AIN'T DONE WITH YOU YET! GET
YOUR ASS BACK OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!
Seth runs to the bedroom door and locks it. He pushes
against the door with all of his might.
VOICE (CONT'D)
(Yelling)
OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR!!
(Beat)
SETH, YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT.
OPEN THIS DOOR!!
We hear the door POUNDING with the door KNOB SHAKING.
VOICE (CONT'D)
(Yelling)
YOU'RE NOTHING AND YOU NEVER WILL
BE ANYTHING! THAT'S WHY THAT BITCH
OF A MOTHER LEFT US!
(Beat)
NOW OPEN THIS DOOR!!!
Seth reaches for his baseball bat that is right next to him.
He jams it under the door knob and walks backwards until his
back hits the wall.
VOICE (CONT'D)
(Yelling)
IF IT WASN'T FOR YOUR UNCLE I
WOULD HAVE SENT YOUR ASS AWAY A
LONG TIME AGO.
We hear one last LOUD SLAM against the door.
VOICE (CONT'D)
YOUR MOTHER NEVER LOVED YOU!
We hear footsteps walking away on the hardwood floor.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - PRESENT - NIGHT
Seth snaps out of it and sees himself in the present. He
turns away and heads towards the kitchen.
SARAH
Are you OK?
Seth grabs the glass out of the sink and reaches for the
VODKA on the counter. He pours the glass half way and slams
it.
SETH
I'm fine. It's just I have a lot
of stress from the office.
SARAH
You're home now. So, just try to
relax.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - DINNER TABLE - NIGHT
The table is set with a bowl of salad and the lasagna in the
middle. Seth reaches for the bottle of red wine and pours
Sarah and himself a glass. Sarah places the garlic bread on
the table. She slides a chair back and takes her seat.
SARAH
I hope you'll like it.
Seth cuts into the dish with a spatula and scoops out a
piece. He places it on Sarah's dish and cuts a second piece
for himself. Sarah is just staring at him waiting for him to
take a bit.
SETH
MMMM! This is pretty good.
SARAH
You don't have to be so sarcastic.
SETH
(Laughs)
I'm not. This is really good.
SARAH
Thank you. Do you want some garlic
bread?
SETH
Na, I'm not a big fan of garlic
bread.
Beat.
SARAH
So, how was your day?
Seth reaches for his glass of wine and drinks the rest. He
wipes his face with a napkin.
SETH
Well, I really didn't want to tell
you this. But, you'll find out one
way or another.
Seth takes a deep breath and prepares himself.
SARAH
What?
SETH
You know you're friend Denise and
her boyfriend Dave?
SARAH
Ya, how could I forget.
SETH
Well.
(Beat)
They were found dead at her home
this morning.
Sarah drops her fork and looks at Seth.
SARAH
What happen?
SETH
We believe that the strangler
broke into their home and murdered
them.
SARAH
Why Denise? This doesn't make any
sense. Why are these killers after
me and the people I know.
SETH
I don't think it has to deal with
you.
SARAH
(Scared)
HOW DO YOU KNOW?
SETH
Look Sarah, we have every officer
looking for this man. Don't worry,
he won't hurt you.
Sarah sits back in her chair wondering what might happen to
her.
SARAH
Is it OK, if I spend the night?
Seth places his hand on top of hers on the table.
SETH
(Smiles)
Sure, you're safe with me.
Sarah reaches for the bottle of wine and pours her glass to
the top.
EXT. SETH'S BACK YARD - NIGHT
There is no porch light on. The sky is black with a few
stars that shower a little light. The white moon only
reveals half of it's true self. We hear the wind slightly
blowing upon the chimes. We see a DARK SHADOW of someone
walking along the home. We only see his BACK SIDE.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is seen washing the dishes and Seth is cleaning the
table. He puts the salad in the refrigerator and takes a
quick look outside the kitchen window.
SETH
Why don't you go upstairs and find
something comfortable to wear.
SARAH
What do you have?
SETH
I have a few long T-shirts in the
closet.
Sarah turns the water off and drys her hands. She grabs her
glass of wine and walks up stairs.
Seth grabs a glass and opens the bottle of VODKA. He pours
himself a small amount and slams it. He places the glass in
the sink. He stares out the window and his mind races back
to his childhood in the old house.
CUT TO:
INT. OLD HOUSE SETH'S CHILDHOOD - DAY
We hear a man moaning. The home is beat down from years of
abuse. The walls haves cracks with paint falling off. A
picture is barley hanging by one nail in the hallway. The
sounds are getting louder as we approach the leaving room.
We see a MAN lying on his side in a fetal position. He is
full of blood and a large knife sticking out of his stomach.
Seth is seen standing there with a blank look on his face.
The front door opens and a man in a police uniform runs
inside.
COP 3
Seth what the hell did you do?
Seth is just standing there motionless. The man on the floor
reaches for Seth and pulls him to the floor. Seth is trying
to get away but the man over powers him and pulls his HEAD
TO HIS MOUTH.
MAN
(Whispers)
You'll never get away with this.
The police officer picks the man up from the floor and
slides him to a wall. He pulls the knife out of his stomach
and looks towards Seth.
COP 3
Don't worry everything is going to
be fine.
(Beat)
I'll take care of this. You can
stay with me.
Seth is just standing there not saying a word. His face is
blank like nothing had ever happen.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - PRESENT - NIGHT
Seth pinches the top of his nose with his eyes closed. He
walks towards the stairs and goes to his bedroom. Sarah is
seen buttoning up a blue shirt that stops at her thighs.
SARAH
I hope you don't mind.
SETH
No, that's fine. It looks great on
you.
Sarah walks towards him and tries to give him a kiss. Seth
closes in and stops himself.
SETH
Are you sure?
SARAH
Yes.
The two begin to kiss and slowly walk towards his bed. Seth
starts to unbutton her shirt and she takes off his. They
fall on the bed and Sarah pulls off his belt.
She gets on top of him and starts to moan. She places his
hands on her upper thighs.
CUT TO:
EXT. SETH'S BACK YARD - NIGHT
We see a MAN IN BLACK slowly grabbing the door knob. He
opens the door and reaches for a KNIFE IN HIS COAT.
INT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
We see the man slowly walking in the hallway. He takes one
step foreword and knocks a PICTURE OFF THE TABLE. He pauses
and stands still.
Sarah is lying on top of Seth. She rolls over to his side.
Seth takes his finger and starts to follow the scar on
Sarah's stomach. He makes a circular motion of the hole left
by the ice pick.
SETH
You know you're very lucky.
SARAH
Let's not talk about that right
now.
Seth hears a noise from down stairs and his eyes open wide.
SETH
Did you hear something?
SARAH
No.
Seth jumps out of bed. He grabs his pants and slides them
on. He runs to his closet and grabs a gun. He runs towards
Sarah.
SETH
(Whispers)
Stay here.
SARAH
(Scared)
What is it?
Seth slowly walks towards the stairs. He takes one step at a
time waiting to hear someone move. He reaches the bottom
stair and looks towards the living room. He is quickly
tackled from behind, his gun goes flying in the air. Seth
TURNS AROUND AND SEES THE STRANGLER with a knife in his hand
ready to stab him.
Seth puts his leg in the air and kicks the Strangler to push
him back. Seth stands up and the Strangler runs towards him
with a KNIFE POINTING TOWARDS HIS CHEST. Seth holds him back
at the chest with one arm and with the other holding back
the KNIFE.
STRANGER
I told you I'd come for you.
THE KNIFE SLOWLY MOVES INTO SETH'S CHEST. Seth is becoming
weak and he can not hold him back any longer. We hear a loud
BANG. The Stranger falls over and we see Sarah holding
Seth's gun. The Stranger was shot point blank in the back of
the head.
Seth pulls the knife out of his chest.
SARAH
(Scared)
O MY GOD!! SETH ARE YOU OK?
Seth places his hand on his chest to stop the bleeding. He
looks at Sarah. HE STRUGGLES FOR AIR. She sees his eyes
watering and runs to the phone.
CUT TO:
EXT. SETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The ambulance is park in front of the home with the lights
flashing. Two cop cars are parked on either side. Seth is
being taken out of the home on a gurney. He is strapped in
with a oxygen mask on. Sarah is seen taking to the Captain
Bowls.
SARAH
Is he going to be alright?
CAPTAIN
I don't know. The knife punctured
one of his lungs. Other than that,
he should be fine.
Sarah runs towards the the back of the ambulance.
CUT TO:
INT. SETH HOUSE - NIGHT
The Investigator is seen looking through the hole in back of
the Stranglers head with a pen. The Captain is seen walking
up from behind.
INVESTIGATOR
You know the one thing that
bothers me is why, why a knife?
CAPTAIN
I don't know? Maybe he just grab
what ever was close to him.
INVESTIGATOR
Not quite. He brought this knife
with him. He'd always strangled
his victims before he'd kill them.
It just doesn't make any sense why
he would be so sloppy...
CAPTAIN
This wasn't one of his random
victims. Were taking about a
highly decorated officer. He might
of just done this out of anger.
INVESTIGATOR
Maybe. Maybe not.
CUT TO:
INT. AMBULANCE - NIGHT
The Ambulance is racing through the streets with the sirens
on. The paramedic is watching his vital signs.
SARAH
Is he going to make it?
PARAMEDIC
He'll be fine. He has a minor
puncture to the lung. A few weeks
he'll be back on his feet.
SARAH
(relieved)
O thank God.
PARAMEDIC
I wouldn't worry to much about it.
SARAH
Seth, can you hear me? You're
going to be fine.
Sarah is rubbing Seth's head. The Paramedic is seen writing
a few notes on a clipboard. We slowly pull away through the
back window. The Ambulance is seen driving through the dark
city.
INT. CAPTAIN'S OFFICE - DAY
TWO MONTHS LATER FALLS UPON THE SCREEN. Seth is sitting in a
chair across from the Captain. He looks healthy. The Captain
is looking at Seth through one eye and a cigar in his mouth.
CAPTAIN
How you feel?
SETH
I feel great. Never better.
CAPTAIN
I just don't understand why did
the strangler want to kill you.
What reason would he have to.
The phone rings. The Captain grabs the phone.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
Yeah.
(Beat)
OK. Thanks
The Captain hangs up the phone.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
What was I saying again?
SETH
What would the Strangler want with
me?
CAPTAIN
O, that's right. What the hell
would the Strangler want with you?
SETH
I don't know. The only thing I can
think of is maybe he thought I was
getting to close.
CAPTAIN
Maybe.
(Beat)
Who knows what the these fucked up
killers are thinking.
SETH
Speaking about killers, what is
the story on.
CAPTAIN
Don't even think about it. I'm
giving you six months paid
vacation. YOU NEED TIME OFF!
SETH
Captain, I don't need time off. My
mind will not rest until these
killers are off the street.
CAPTAIN
Look Seth, you wanna keep working
on these cases. FINE! But if the
price is your life then that's on
you.
SETH
This is my life.
CAPTAIN
Look, just take the time off and
clear your head. Your going to
drive yourself crazy if you don't
watch it.
SETH
I can handle it.
CAPTAIN
Look what happen to your uncle. He
couldn't find one killer out of 19
that he brought in.
Seth shows a bit of anger towards the touchy subject.
SETH
My uncle was the best.
CAPTAIN
Yes, he was. But look what happen
when he let his work consume him.
SETH
I'll be fine.
CAPTAIN
Just, listen for a minute. Don't
make the same mistake.
The Captain gets out of his chair and walks out of the
office. Seth is sitting in his chair staring at the plaque
on the wall. "IN APPRECIATION FOR YOUR SERVICE AND
DEDICATION FOR THE PAST TWENTY FIVE YEARS."
INT. DEPARTMENT STORE - DAY
Sarah is seen holding a shirt against her body. She places
it back on the rack and reaches for another. Jasmine walks
up to her and holds a glittery orange and red dress with a
bow on the side.
JASMINE

moving in a few weeks.

SARAH
I've been thinking about moving up
north somewhere. Work pays way
better up there.
JASMINE
Wow, that's a big jump. Do you
even know anyone up north?
SARAH
I have a couple of cousins that
live in Wisconsin. They will let
me stay with them until I can get
on my feet. I just need to get far
away from this place as possible.
JASMINE
I'm going to miss you.
Sarah places the shirt back on the rack and tries to control
herself. She places hers hands on her face and begins to
cry.
SARAH
I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!
JASMINE
It's alright. Everything will be
fine.
SARAH
No, it's not alright. I'm so
stressed out my hair is failing
out.
Jasmine wraps her arms around Sarah.
JASMINE

We see a man in his mid twenties with tattoos running up the
side of his neck and stop by his face. He is the man from
the photo at the police station. He is walking down a isle
and walks right past Sarah. He gives her a half smirk
because of her beauty and walks by.
Sarah looks at him and with a odd expression as if she knew
him from somewhere.
SARAH
Hey, haven't we seen him from
somewhere?
Jasmine turns around and only sees the back of his head.
JASMINE
MMM, no, I don't think so.
SARAH
He just looked so familiar.
JASMINE
Well, when we get back I will help
you start looking for a apartment.
SARAH
Thank you so much, I truly need
this. I need to start a new life.
JASMINE
Maybe I could even go with you?

(Excited)

your job?
JASMINE
I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal
to get transferred over. We have
offices all over the U.S.

INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Sarah and Jasmine are seen walking in the front door. Sarah
places her bags on the floor. Jasmines walks to the kitchen.
JASMINE
Are you hungry?
SARAH
Not really, I'll have a salad or
something light.
JASMINE
I can make us a salad with the
left over chicken from last night.
SARAH
Sure, that sounds good.
The door bell rings.
SARAH
I'll get it.
Sarah opens the door and Seth is standing there.
SARAH (CONT'D)
Come in.
(Beat)
How've you been feeling.
SETH
Better.
Seth takes a seat at the kitchen table. Sarah pulls a chair
beside him.
SETH (CONT'D)
The Captain wants me to take some
time off.
SARAH
That's good. You need to take a
break.
SETH
My work is my life. I need to get
these killers off the streets.
Sarah reaches for Seth's hand on the table. She inter locks
her fingers with his.
SARAH
I think me and Jasmine are going
to move to Wisconsin.
SETH
Why? What's in Wisconsin?
SARAH
I just need a new start. This city
has taken to much from me. I.
SETH
When do you plan on leaving?
SARAH
As soon as possible.
SETH
How bout I leave with you?
Sarah looks towards Jasmine.
JASMINE
I don't think that would be a good
idea. You're life is surrounded by
criminals and the last time Sarah
was with you she almost got
killed.
SETH
You're right. My life is full of
shit. You're better off with out
me.
SARAH
I promise I will keep in touch.
Seth stands up. He starts to head for the front door. Sarah
stands up and follows him.
SETH
Just promise me, you'll come and
see me before you leave.
SARAH
I promise.
Sarah opens the door and Seth leans in to give her a kiss.
Sarah moves her cheek towards his lips. Seth kisses her
cheek and opens his eyes with a surprised look. He turns
around and walks away. Sarah closes the door slowly.
SARAH
Talk about uncomfortable.
JASMINE
He didn't seem to happy to hear
that you were going to move.
SARAH
He just doesn't have anyone. No
family, no friends. No one. So of
course he is going to be upset.
JASMINE
Just, try to be there for him. At
least until we leave.
INT. CEMETERY - DAY
Seth is seen walking up the cemetery. He stops at a
headstone with a small American flag at it's side. The
headstone reads AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN, AND IN THE
MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER NATHAN ADAMS. A LOVED UNCLE AND
FRIEND.
Seth places a knee to the grown. He reaches the top of the
headstone to rest his hand. He looks to the grown.
SETH
(Mournful)
Thank you uncle.
(Beat)
Thank you for taking the time to
teach me to be a man. You're the
only true family I have.
(Beat)
I'll see you soon.
Seth stands up and takes a look around. Hundreds of
different types of headstones cover the ground. He heads
back to his car. He hears a couple of guys talking by the
sidewalk. He walks over to see what the commotion is.
EXT. CITY STREET - DAY
He sees one a young man handing someone a small package. It
resembles like a drug of some sort.
SETH
HEY!!!
The young man turns around and looks towards Seth. Seth sees
a tattoo along side of his neck. He recognizes him. It's one
of the serial killer he has been looking for.
The young man sees Seth and starts running towards his car.
He gets inside his 2009 MUSTANG COBRA and speeds off. Seth
runs back to his 1970 BLACK SUPER CHARGE DODGE CHALLENGER
and chases after him.
Seth fishtails out of the cemetery. We hear the screeching
of the tries. The engine roars with power. Seth sees the
killer about a quarter mile in front of him. He slams on the
gas. The car lifts off the grown.
The killer is pushing cars off the road. He almost hits a
Innocent bystander. He pushes his car to the max. Swerving
in and out of traffic.
Seth is gaining on him. We see the speedometer reading 110
mph. He flies right by a parked cop. The cop quickly turns
his lights on and floors it. The cop is in a marked 2009
CAMARO.
Seth looks in his rear view mirror.
SETH
SHIT!!
He pulls his badge out and holds it out the window while he
is driving.
COP 4
(Loud Speaker)
PULL OVER!!
(Beat)
PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY!!
(Beat)
THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING!!!
Seth down sifts and floors it. He drives up on the side walk
and turns to incoming traffic. The cop follows and slams
head on into a truck. The car flips in the air and lands
upside down.
Seth is now no more than twenty feet from the killer. He
gains speed and hits the Mustang from behind. The killer
looks behind him.
KILLER
SHHIIITT!! That's all you got.
Seth hits the Mustang a second time. The killer swerves down
a back alley. He comes fling out the other side into
traffic. Seth follows behind him. We see them race up to a
huge bridge that flows over the river.
Seth gains speed and pulls up beside him and hits the
Mustang in the back corner panel. The Mustang looses control
right on top of a bridge.
The car flips in the air and rolls on its side. Seth slams
on his brakes and gets out.
SETH
YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT!!!
The killer crawls out of his car. He is bleeding from the
mouth and nose. He stands up and brushes himself off. He
looks at Seth and smiles.
Seth pulls his gun out.
SETH
GET.. THE...FUCK... DOWN...VINCE!!
VINCE
What you're going to shoot me for
some cocaine?
SETH
NO, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU FOR THE
WOMAN YOU MURDERED!
VINCE
YOU KNOW I DIDN'T KILL ANYONE!
SETH
Wow, you really are that messed
up. You can't tell from reality to
a FUCK UP WORLD YOU LIVE IN.
Vince gives Seth a look of confusion. He slowly walks to the
side of the bridge and looks to the 200 foot drop to the
water.
SETH
Don't even think about it. You'll
kill yourself by impact.
Vince looks back at Seth.
VINCE
I don't know what your deal is but
I think you're the fucked up
individual.
Vince starts to climb the side rail facing towards Seth.
SETH
Get down Vince. Don't even think
about it.
Seth holds the gun with one hand and holds his other hand
out towards Vince.
VINCE
I will not serve time for those
women.
SETH
If you give yourself up now. We
might be able to work out a
insanity plea.
VINCE
(Smiles)

to pay for your sins then your
loved ones will.
Vince holds his arms out wide and leans back. He slowly
falls off the bridge and his body glides a 200 feet to the
water. A small splash is seen as Seth hangs over the side to
watch.
INT. CAPTAINS OFFICE - DAY
Seth is seen sitting in the chair next to the Captains desk.
The Captain walks in the office and slams the door shut.
CAPTAIN
(Angry)
WHAT... THE... FUCK... WAS...
THAT?
SETH
I found Vince. I couldn't just let
him get away.
CAPTAIN
Do you know I have the Governor on
the phone asking me why there's a
car blown up in the MIDDLE OF A
FUCKING BRIDGE. But not only that,
a fucking cop was almost killed in
a head on collusion.
SETH
The man was high, he wouldn't
stop.
CAPTAIN
You better hope we find him in the
river. Because, if we don't you
will be working THE IMPOUND LOT
FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.
SETH
(Angry)

The Captain pulls out a cigar for his desk. He grabs a Zippo
that is sitting on a blank file. He lights it and takes two
quick puffs.
CAPTAIN (CONT'D)
I think it's in your best interest
that you take some time off.
SETH
Two weeks.
CAPTAIN
Try two months.
SETH
What am I supposed to do with two
months.
CAPTAIN
I don't know. Take that girl Sarah
on a trip or something.
SETH
I think she wants to move to
Wisconsin.
CAPTAIN
Why would she wanna do that?
SETH
I guess she doesn't want to
remember this place and to start a
new life.
CAPTAIN
Are you thinking of going with
her?
SETH
No, I think she wants to forget
about me as well.
CAPTAIN
Just keep your head up and try to
relax.
SETH
I have.
Seth stands up and heads for the door. He stops for a
moment. A KEY WITH A SKULL AND CROSS BONES is seen on the
shelf.
SETH (CONT'D)
I'll see you in a few weeks.
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Sarah is seen working on the computer. Jasmine is sitting
next to her looking at a few apartments for rent.
SARAH
Ooh. How about this one. Two
bedroom, two bath for rent.
JASMINE
It looks nice.
SARAH
Look, it even has pool and a
tennis court.
JASMINE
You don't even know how to play
tennis.
SARAH
I can play.
JASMINE
Sure you can. What about this one.
Uh, it only has one bathroom.
SARAH
Here we go. Two story, two bedroom
town home. Close to the city.
Community pool. Perfect.
Sarah feels a little queasy. She stands up and places her
hand on her stomach.
JASMINE
Are you OK?
Sarah runs to the bathroom. Jasmine follows her. She stands
by the door and listens. We her Sarah throwing up.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
(Concerned)
Are you sick?
SARAH
Just give me a minute.
The water runs from the sink as Sarah washes her hands. A
quick rinse of her mouth and she opens the door.
JASMINE
Do you have the flu?
SARAH
I don't know. I have had it for
the past couple of days.
JASMINE
Let me take you temperature.
Jasmine walks in the bathroom. She opens the medicine
cabinet and pulls out a thermometer.
SARAH
I thought maybe it was from the
stress I was having.
JASMINE
Here put this under your tongue
for about a minute or two.
We see them walk back to the computer. Jasmine looks through
a couple more posting. She turns to Sarah.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Let's see.
She grabs the thermometer from her mouth.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Nope, you're fine.
SARAH
Maybe I have food poisoning or
something.
JASMINE
OR! MAYBE YOUR PREGNANT!!
SARAH
(Shaking her head)
No, no ,no.
JASMINE
Have you even taken a pregnancy
test?
SARAH
No.
JASMINE
Come on. I think I have one. It
might be a little old but it
should work.
SARAH
O please God don't let me be
pregnant.
Jasmine takes Sarah by the hand and walks back to the
bathroom. Jasmine bends down and looks for a box underneath
the bathroom sink. She moves a few things around.
JASMINE
Here it is.
SARAH
What do I do with this?
JASMINE

Jasmine turns the box over.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Just follow these directions.
SARAH

JASMINE
You'll be fine.
Jasmine softly pushes Sarah back in the bathroom and closes
the door.

INT. BAR - DAY
Seth walks in. A few men are playing pool in the corner. Two
men are sitting at the bar with a women in here forties.
Seth walks to the bar. He pulls out a stool.
The Bartender is telling a joke to the women who begins to
laugh. Seth raises his arm to get his attention. The
Bartender gives him a unpleasant look. He touches the
woman's arm and gives her a nod to let her know he will be
right back.
The Bartender walks up with a scruffy beard and a white
stained T-shirt. Whipping a glass.
BARTENDER
What can I do for ya?
SETH
Let me get a shot of Tequila and a
beer.
BARTENDER
Sure.
The Bartender walks back to the woman. He continues to tell
the joke. Seth pulls out his gun and his badge and places
both of them on the bar.
SETH
CAN I GET A SHOT AND A BEER!
The bartender walks back over and grabs a shot glass. He
places it on the bar and pours a shot. He grabs a glass and
pours a beer from the tap.
BARTENDER
Here.
SETH
Thank you.
Seth slams the shot and sips the beer. He pulls out his
phone and places it on the table. Sits back and looks
towards the T.V. A College Football game is on.
He grabs the cell phone off the table and text's Sarah.
"WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET SOME DINNER?"
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY
Jasmine is waiting for Sarah by the bathroom door.
JASMINE
Is everything OK in there?
SARAH
Yeah.
JASMINE
Can I come in?
SARAH
(Crying)
If you want.
She opens the door and sees Sarah sitting on the toilet
holding the pregnancy test.
JASMINE
Why are you crying?
SARAH
(Crying)
Look.
She hands over the test. Jasmines eyes become wide open and
starts to jump with excitement.
JASMINE
O my God. YOU'RE PREGNANT!
SARAH
I know. What am I going to do?
Jasmine walks towards her. She places Sarah's head against
her stomach.
JASMINE
Don't worry. I will help with
everything.
SARAH
Thank you.
Sarah's cell phone beeps.
JASMINE
Let me get it.
She walks to the kitchen. The cell phone is flashing. She
grabs it and flips it open.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
It's Seth.
She walks back to the hallway and into the bathroom.
SARAH
What does he want?
JASMINE
Here.
She hands the phone over. Sarah reads the text message and
replies "NO I DON'T FEEL GOOD RIGHT NOW".
JASMINE (CONT'D)
When are you going to tell him?
SARAH
When am I going to tel him what?
JASMINE
That your pregnant.
SARAH
I don't know. I'm not ready for
any of this.
JASMINE
You're going to have to tell him
sooner or later.
SARAH
Maybe.
CUT TO:
INT. BAR - NIGHT
Seth is watching the game. The Bartender is still working on
the woman sitting at the bar. Seth's phone vibrates. He
grabs it and flips it open. He reads the message.
SETH
DAMMIT!
He closes the phone and throws it across the room. The
Bartender looks towards Seth.
SETH (CONT'D)
What are you going to do about it?
The Bartender turns back towards the woman as if nothing
ever happen. Seth gets up from his chair. Grabs his gun and
badge off the bar. He throws a few bucks on the bar and
walks out the front door.
CUT TO:
INT. RIVER - NIGHT
Police are walking along the river bank looking for
evidence. A body is lying on the rocks with a white blanket
over it. A couple of Forensic Photographers are seen taking
pictures. The same investigator at Denise's house is looking
over the body. The Captain is seen walking up to the body.
CAPTAIN
Is it him?
INVESTIGATOR
Yup, in the flesh.
The Captain bends over and pulls back the white cloth. We
see Vince with his eyes open and pale from the cold water.
CAPTAIN
Did he drown?
INVESTIGATOR
Not quite, he broke his neck on
impact. He really didn't feel
anything.
CAPTAIN
What the hell was this guy
thinking? Did he really think he
would make a 200 foot fall from a
bridge?
INVESTIGATOR
He wanted to end his life. He
landed right on his back.
Instantly breaking his neck with
massive internal injuries.
The Captain pulls the white cloth back over his head. He
looks to the water.
CAPTAIN
Did you find anything else?
INVESTIGATOR
Not much of anything.
CAPTAIN
Let's wrap this up.
The Captain stands up and walks back to his unmarked car. He
opens the driver side door. He grabs his cell phone out from
the center counsel. Flips the phone open, scrolls down to
Seth's number. We hear the phone ringing.
CAPTAIN (CONT)
(To himself)
Seth answer the dam phone.
CUT TO:
INT. BAR - NIGHT
We see the phone on the bar floor. The front screen shows
"Bowls". The phone continues to vibrate.
CUT TO:
EXT. RIVER - NIGHT
The Captain is standing by his car with the phone to his
ear. We hear the answering machine pick up. "Seth, leave a
message."
CAPTAIN
Hey Seth, we found Vince or whats
left of him anyway. Give me a call
as soon as you get the message.
Bye.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Jasmine and Sarah are sitting on the couch. Sarah has a
blanket wrapped around here.
JASMINE
Everything is going to be fine.
SARAH
I hope so.
JASMINE
Maybe we can find a farm to live
on. You know, a few horses, cows.
O and a roster. You gotta have a
roster or two.
SARAH
(Laughs)
I know you're kidding.
JASMINE
We should start looking for a
three bedroom.
SARAH
Uh, I can't believe this is really
happening. Do you think maybe the
test might be wrong?
JASMINE
I doubt it. But there is only one
way to fined out.
SARAH
What?
JASMINE
Go and get another one.
SARAH
I really don't feel like going
anywhere right now.
JASMINE
I will get it for you. Just sit
right there. I will be right back.
Jasmine gets up from the couch. She grabs a sweater off the
chair and puts it on.
JASMINE (CONT'D)
Do you need anything else?
SARAH
No, I should be fine.
Jasmine grabs the keys off the table and heads for the front
door.
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Jasmine closes the door and locks it from outside. She walks
to the car parked in the driveway. She looks over the top of
her car and sees a skull pass by. She drops her keys.
JASMINE
(whispers to
himself)
What the hell was that?
She bends down to grab her keys and stands up. She looks
around. She gets inside and places the keys in the ignition.
Right when she gets ready to turn the key she looks INTO THE
REAR VIEW MIRROR. A skull is seen in the back seat.
JASMINE
(Screams)
AAAHHH!
She reaches to open the door. A man in the back seat grabs
her by the mouth. A black leather glove covers her mouth. A
LARGE KNIFE IS DRAWN TO HER NECK. The blade races across her
throat. Blood sprays to the windshield. Her body goes limp
and leans out the driver side door.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is setting on the couch. She has the blanket wrapped
around her looking through her text messages on her phone.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
The killer opens the back door and walks out. He has is
wearing all black with a metal skull mask. He is gripping
the knife and starts to walk towards the front door.
The neighbors door opens. A old man walks out of his home.
The Killer sees him and stops. The old man squints his eyes
towards the killer and goes on about his business. The
killer turns towards the back yard and runs off.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah searches for Jasmine's number. She presses talk. The
phone begins to ring.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Jasmines is leaning out the drivers side door. Her head is
lying on the driveway. We hear the cell phone ringing inside
the car.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah has the phone to her ear.
SARAH
(To herself)
Come on Jasmine. Answer the phone.
We hear Jasmine's answering message. "I CAN'T GET TO THE
PHONE RIGHT NOW BUT, PLEASE LEAVE ME A MESSAGE AND I WILL
GET BACK TO YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU."
SARAH
Jasmine, call me back as soon as
you get this. I need a few things.
OK. Bye.
Sarah hangs up the phone throws it on the couch. She places
her head on top of her legs.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
A black car pulls up and parks by the curb. Seth walks out.
He sees a woman hanging out from the car parked in the
driveway. He runs to her side.
SETH
JASMINE!
He places his finger on her wrist to see if she had a pulse.
He drops her wrist and looks to the front door.
SETH
SARAH!
He quickly runs to the front door. The door is locked. He
kicks in the front door. Sarah lifts her head in fear.
SARAH
(Yells)
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?
SETH
Are you OK?
SARAH
(Yells)
YES, NOW WHY DID YOU KICK DOWN THE
DOOR!!!!
SETH
The Killer. He can't be far.
SARAH
(Scared)
What?
Seth is running in all of the rooms looking for him.
SARAH
What do you mean killer?
SETH
Someone just killed Jasmine in
front of your house.
Sarah runs towards the front door.
CUT TO:
EXT. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah runs to the car in the driveway. She sees Jasmine
hanging out of the car.
SARAH
(Screams)
AAAHHHHHH!!!
Seth runs outside and grabs Sarah.
SETH
Come on. Lets get inside he can
still be out here.
Sarah runs back inside. Seth stands there looking at Jasmine
on the floor. Someone in black walks up behind him and
places a white cloth over his nose and mouth. Seth slowly
falls to his knees and passes out.
CUT TO:
INT. JASMINES HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah is seen looking for her phone in the couch. She rips
the couch apart. A man dressed in Black walks up behind her
and places a white cloth over her nose and mouth. She slowly
passes out.
INT. OLD HOUSE - NIGHT
We look through Sarah's EYES. Her eyes open slowly. We see a
man hovering over a table. A ARM IS SEEN CUT AT THE ELBOW
AND PLACED BEFORE HIM. The Man has a knife cutting it open
and pulling the meat out. Sarah's eyes become weak and
close.
Sarah opens her eyes a second time. She sees a dog devouring
a bowl of red meat. A hand cut off at the wrist is seen
leaning on the side of the bowl. Her eyes open WIDE WITH
FEAR. She realizes that she is saran wrapped to a post. Her
mouth is taped shut.
She sees three mask hanging on the wall. One resembles a lot
like the man that killed her boyfriend Mike. It even has the
scare on the side. The Second one resembles the man she shot
in the back of the head. It has a birth mark wrapped around
the eye. She looks to the third and sees a METAL SKULL.
She tries to scream for help. A muffled sound pours out from
her mouth. The dog barks at her. She looks to the dog with
fear. A moan is heard from her right side. Sarah turns to
look. It's Seth wrapped up with tape over his mouth. He
looks to be in a great deal of pain.
We hear a voice come from behind Sarah.
VOICE
Pipe down Zeus. You've had enough
to eat already.
A man is heard walking from behind Sarah. She becomes still.
The Man walks in front of her.
VOICE
Hello, I hope I haven't put you
through to much trouble.
Sarah just stares at him with a horrid look.
VOICE
Let me properly introduce myself.
My name is Arthur Mathews. O Yes,
let me get that for you.
He reaches to pull the tape off Sarah's mouth.
SARAH
What the hell do you want with me?
ARTHUR
I want to show you something. Your
friend Seth is a man of many
trades.
SARAH
LET HIM GO! HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING
TO YOU!
ARTHUR
I beg to differ.
SARAH
Where am I and why do you have the
mask of killers?
ARTHUR
This is not my place.
(Beat)
It's Seth's.
SARAH

ARTHUR
I'm sure he will love to tell you
all about it.
Arthur walks towards Seth. Seth's body looks pale. He is
sweating profusely. He rips off the tape on his mouth.
ARTHUR (CONT)
Seth, you awake?
Arthur picks up a small bottle of adrenaline off the table.
He picks up a syringe and pops the top off. The needle pokes
through the bottle. He fills the syringe and pushes the air
out. A small amount sprays in the air.
ARTHUR (CONT)
This should wake you up.
Arthur takes a knife off the table. He cuts the saran wrap.
Pulls his left arm out. The needle punchers Seth's vein. The
fluid quickly flows into his blood stream.
Seth eye's open WITH RAGE.
SETH
WHERE THE FUCK AM I?
ARTHUR
Hello, Detective Adams.
SETH
(YELLS)
GET ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!! I'M GOING
TO FUCKING KILL YOU!!!
SARAH
Seth are you OK?
Seth moves his head towards Sarah.
SETH
Sarah? FUUUCCCKKKK!!!
ARTHUR
(Smiles)
You don't seem to happy to see
her. WHY?
SETH
What do you want with me Arthur?
SARAH
What? You two know each other.
Arthur pulls the a chair out from the desk. Sits down and
stares into Seth's eyes.
ARTHUR
You could say that.
SETH
He is a serial killer. Remember
the photos at the station?
Sarah's mind races back to the police station when she was
looking at the four photos.
CUT TO:
INT. POLICE STATION - DAY
Sarah is looking at the four photos. She is holding a
picture of Vince.
SETH
He is a young man that was brought
up very abused. He is very
disturbed and doesn't know reality
from fiction. He wears a metal
mask of a skull and sneaks into
victim's homes. The mask looks
like a ghost floating in the dark.
He places his victims in a open
grave and buries them alive.
Sarah puts the picture down and picks up the third. It is a
blurry picture of an older man in his late Forties. He has
partial gray hair with reading glasses.
SARAH
He doesn't look like a killer.
CUT TO:
INT. OLD HOUSE - NIGHT
Sarah snaps out of it and remembers Arthur. She tries to get
loose. She sees Zeus on the floor eating. The hand by the
bowl rolls over to the side.
SARAH
GET ME OUT OF HERE YOU SICK FUCK!
ARTHUR
In do time. But first, I would
like to see are friend Seth
explain why we are all sitting
here in this abandon home that he
owns.
Seth tries to get loose. The saran wrap is to tight. He
barely moves.
SETH
YOU'RE GOING TO PAY!
Arthur stands up and rushes towards Seth.
ARTHUR
(Angry)
NO, YOU'RE GOING TO PAY!!! YOU
THINK YOU CAN KILL MY NEPHEW AND
GET AWAY WITH IT!!
SARAH
He didn't kill anyone.
ARTHUR
(Smiling)
Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. How blind you
really are. The man that killed
your boyfriend and he was next to
you the whole time.
SARAH
(Shaking her head)
NO, NO! YOU'RE LYING!
ARTHUR
Micheal was my nephew. His father
and mother were murdered by some
thugs in the middle of the street.
All they wanted was the money. But
one of them had to push it further
by taking there lives. No one came
to stop them. By the time the
police came they were dead. By a
miracle, Micheal was still alive
in the womb. The doctor preformed
a c-section and Micheal was born.
SARAH
You're his uncle?
ARTHUR
Yes. Micheal was adopted four
weeks later. I wasn't able to
handle a child at that time. The
only thing I can do is GET REVENGE
FOR MY BROTHER AND HIS WIFE'S
DEATH!
(Beat)
I have only killed the wicked at
heart. The ones who get away with
murder. I'M THE ONE WHO DEMOLISHES
THE EVIL PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD

SETH
DON'T LISTEN TO HIM! HE'S FULL OF
SHIT!
ARTHUR
I wouldn't push it Seth. It's
over, you're done.
Zeus stands up and walks to Seth's right side. A small
puddle of blood is seen on the floor. Zeus starts licking
the floor. Seth looks down at his side.
SETH
(Screams)
WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!
Seth's arms is cut off at the elbow. The blood from his arm
is dripping on the floor. Sarah is in a state of shock.
ARTHUR
This is only the beginning.
Seth's cell phone begins to ring.
Beat.
SETH
The police with be here any
minute.
ARTHUR
Why? Because you left your car
with a dead woman next to it. I
wouldn't count on it. You know you
are the only one that knows where
this place is. That's why you
bought it in the first place.
SETH
(Angry)
FUUCCKK!!!
SARAH
How the hell could you do this
Seth? I thought you were.
Arthur looks towards Sarah.
ARTHUR
Seth is far from anything good. He
killed his father at the age of
nine. I'm sure he forgot to tell
you about that.
SETH
That man deserved everything he
got.
Arthur turns to Seth.
ARTHUR
The man was abusive but did he
really deserve to die.
SETH
YES!
Arthur moves towards the chair and takes a seat. He looks at
Sarah who is crying uncontrollably.
ARTHUR
Seth's Uncle was the one who
covered up the murder and raised
him up from a child. After high
school he joined the academy. His
uncle was a great Detective but
lost it all from one woman's
death. He couldn't capture a mass
serial killer. He ended up
retiring early and died of a heart
attack a few years later.
Seth is starting to pass out from all the blood draining
from his body. Arthur stands up and walks to Seth. He Slaps
him in the face a few times.
ARTHUR
Don't quit on me know. Were not
done yet.
SARAH
(Crying)
Why Seth? Why?
Arthur walks in front of Sarah.
ARTHUR
He wanted to be the best. No
matter what the price was. He hand
picked three criminals to set up
as killers.
SETH
(Out of breath)
Leave her alone.
Arthur grabs one of Seth's fingers and snaps it.
SETH
(Screams)
AAHHH!!!
ARTHUR
There was the young man named.
What was his name again? Oh yeah,
Vince. He was a drug dealer. He
sold some heroin to two 16 year
old girls.
Sarah is moving her fingers and trying to pull the saran
wrap apart.
ARTHUR
They of course over dosed and were
found dead the next morning. Seth
arrested Vince on a drug felony
charged and was released six
months later. Vince was on the
road to recovery. Those two girls
changed his life for ever. Seth
thought it would be easy enough to
portray Vince as a mindless Drugi
who murders women.
Zeus walks in front of Sarah and picks up the hand off the
floor and starts to chew on the finger.
ARTHUR (CONT)
The strangler was a honest man. He
was born with a birth mark around
his eye. He made a few bad
decisions but he diffidently
wasn't a killer.
SETH
Stop. Just stop and let her go.
You have me and that's what you
wanted. Just let her go.
ARTHUR
In due time. Let's see. MM, oh
yes, the strangler. One night He
was with his sister at the bar.
She got a phone call from the baby
sitter that her son was ill. She
stepped outside and was stopped by
a man. She was raped by this man
in the alley behind the bar. He
just happen to walk out of the bar
at the right time. He beat this
man with his own fist until his
skull split wide open. He served
ten years and was released. Seth
thought it would be great to set
him up as a vicious murderer.
Sarah makes a small rip in the saran wrap. She slowly pulls
it apart.
ARTHUR (CONT)
He was a smart man. He knew Seth
was setting him up with the rest
of the murders. He just didn't
know why. He saw his picture in
the news paper for the murders. He
watched his home torn apart by the
police and Seth. It wasn't until
the night he was shot that he knew
why Seth set him up. He was
running out of killers. He wanted
to live up to his uncles legacy
and not only that. But Seth loved
to be a true killer and get away
with it. The killer instinct was
already apart of him.
Arthur walks towards Sarah as if he knew what she was doing.
ARTHUR (CONT)
And the last killer. The one we
have in common. The man with a
scar on the side of his face.
Andrew Anderson, a man with a
heart of gold. He was brought up
on domestic charges a few years
ago. He broke his wife's jaw and
she slash his face with a knife
during a fight. He never forgave
himself for that night. He loved
her so much that he would give up
his own life to save hers. The
night she was killed was a mind
fuck from Seth.
SETH
(Out of breath)
Fuck you Arthur.
ARTHUR
That night Andrew got into a fight
with his wife. He left to prevent
any conflict that might get out of
hand. As he walked out. Seth
walked in and killed her. Not only
did he kill her but her cut off
her head and hid it in the
basement for evidence. He knew he
could get him back in the house
just by a simple phone call. He
waited until Andrew showed up and
everything else fell into place.
He thought it would be great to
use this man to make me think he
really killed my nephew.
Arthur walks towards Seth with ANGER IN HIS EYES. We here
another "SNAP". He breaks another finger.
ARTHUR (CONT)
He wanted me to be at his funeral
to take me down.
SARAH
He made himself look like him to
kill my boyfriend?
ARTHUR
You don't know how impressed he
was to see you alive. He actually
fell in love with you. You were
the only one that ever survived.
It was only a matter of time
before I caught onto his game.
Arthur grabs a knife and walks towards Sarah.
ARTHUR (CONT)
He killed your friend Jasmine
because he felt she was getting in
the way. I arrived to late to save
her.
SARAH
(Scared)
PLEASE NO!
He places the knife to her backside and cuts the saran wrap.
She falls to the floor.
ARTHUR
Here I think this belongs to you.
He hands her the diamond ring Mike had with him the night he
was murdered.
SARAH
What's this?
ARTHUR
This is the ring Mike had on him
the night he was murdered. He was
going to propose to you. A friend
of mine from the station gave it
to me.
Sarah looks up and sees all the masks with each weapon
perfectly placed on the table. She grabs the ice pick and
walks towards Seth.
SARAH
YOU SON OF A BITCH! YOU KILLED MY
BOYFRIEND, MY BEST FRIEND, AND YOU
TRIED TO KILL ME!
SETH
(Out of breath)
Sarah, I. I Love you.
SARAH
(Angry)
FUCK YOU!!
Sarah takes the ice pick and slams it into the his ribs
three times.
SARAH
Do you know what that feels like?
Blood drips out of his mouth. He gasps for Air. Sarah drops
the ice pick. She looks behind her and Arthur is gone. HE
DISAPPEARED. Sarah slowly walks to the stairs.
SETH
(Dieing)
Sarah, please don't leave me like
this. Don't let them find me like
this.
Sarah looks to the floor next to the stairs and sees a red
plastic container of gas. She picks it up and walks towards
Seth. She pops the top and pours it all over him and the
floor.
SETH (CONT)
(Dieing)
I love you.
She finds a box of matches next to a ash tray. She opens the
box and pulls a single match out. She strikes it and a small
flame is born. She flicks the match.
SARAH
Burn in hell.
The floor lights up. Seth is quickly devoured in flames.
Sarah turns back towards the stairs and slowly walks up.
INT. CAR PARKED BEHIND OLD HOUSE - DAY
Arthur is seen seating in the back seat. The man from the
police station that was seating two desk over from Sarah
when she was looking at the four photos is in the driver
seat.
Looking through the inside of the car out. We see Sarah
walking out of the home onto a dirt road.
DRIVER
Should I pick her up?
ARTHUR
No, she'll be fine.
EXT. OLD HOUSE - DAY
Sarah is walking down hill for the home on a dirt road. The
home is engulfed in flames. She continues to walk forward
not even thinking twice of looking back.
EXT. ACADEMY CEREMONY - DAY
We see FOUR YEARS LATER fall upon the screen. Sarah is
standing on stage with the rest of the cadets. She is sworn
in and walks off the stage to meet with her cousin Amy. She
is in her thirty's with red hair and brown eyes. A young boy
the age of three is standing next to her.
Sarah comes running up to the boy and picks him up.
SARAH
Aren't you going to clap for
mommy?
She pickups up the little boys hands and starts to clap.
AMY
You were great. I just can't
believe you're a police officer
now.
SARAH
Ya, well. Hopefully I will be
Detective Bailey one day.
Sarah looks through the crowd and sees two men standing
there that resembles a lot like Mike and Arthur. The two men
watch her from a distance and turn around and walk away.
Sarah quickly puts the boy down.
SARAH
Here can you watch him for a
minute.
AMY
Sure.
Sarah runs through the crowd pushing people to the side. She
makes to where she saw them. But there gone. She stands
there in shock wondering if it was really them. Her mind
races back to the night were she was almost murdered. She
remembers the raspy voice. A smokers voice. The killer was a
smoker. We see the glass at the restaurant with a cigarette
inside.
She remembers the ash tray on the table at the old house
where she grab the matches. She remembers Seth telling her
that Arthur would put NASA engineers to shame. She quickly
realizes that ARTHUR WAS THE TRUE KILLER. Her knees become
weak and she kneels to the ground.
FADE OUT.
