Act One Teaser

NARRARATOR: Previously on the Twilight Realm...
 
HAIKU'S VOICE: You never know what might happen.

A shot of the war with the two dozen demon ninja's.

Cut to Tetsogara standing before them on top of a cliff.

TETSOGARA: Welcome...to your end... 

SURAL: Master Tetsogara has deemed that you are worthy of a fight 
against him. But only one of you may fight.
       The others...

Cut to Sural fighting Durosa, Faral and Narago at the same time. 

Cut to Durosa grabbing Faral's hand as he falls over the edge. 
Narago sees this and kicks Sural away, then runs and grabs 
Durosa's hand just as she falls over. Narago tries desperitely to 
keep a good grip on her hand.

Cut to Tetsogara blocking a swipe from Haiku and kicking him to 
the ground. He raises his sword above Haiku's stomach.

TETSOGARA: The era of Tetsogara is now...

FADE OUT.

NARRARATOR: And now the conclusion...

[OPENING CREDITS]


Act I Scene 1

Tesogara's chambers.


SCREEN TEXT
"AFERMATH"


As Tetsogara holds the sword above him, Haiku rolls forward 
underneath Tetsogara's legs. He rises up and kicks Tetsogara onto 
the ground.


Act I Scene 2

Bottom of cliff.

Sural walks toward his opponents, who are barely hanging onto the 
cliff.

SURAL: I see no reason to keep you alive now. Face it...you've 
lost.

As Sural runs for them, Narago kicks him back onto the ground. 
Narago pulls his clan members up and they stare Sural down. Sural 
darts ahead and tackles Narago, who rolls onto his back and 
monkey-flips Sural over the cliff. He screams as he falls down 
the dark abyss. As they stand in the tense silence, Durosa speaks 
up.

DUROSA: Come on. We have to help Haiku.


Act I Scene 3

Tetsogara's chambers. 

Haiku and Tetsogara duel with their swords across the area. As it 
continues, Haiku ducks a swipe and cuts into Tetsogara's arm. He 
stumbles back and holds it.

TETSOGARA: Very nice. You caught me off guard and were able to 
strike a blow. I'm impressed.

Haiku runs and flips over Tetsogara, then kicks him onto the 
ground. Durosa, Faral, and Narago suddenly burst into the room. 

HAIKU: You guys okay?

They all nod as Tetsogara spins on his back and kicks Haiku away. 

TETSOGARA: This isn't the end, Gurado clan. Just because you've 
taken out Sural doesn't mean I'm done 
           fighting. 

Tetsogara puts his hand up and pushes all of them onto their 
backs. He darts out of the room. Haiku rises and looks to where 
Tetsogara ran out. His clan members run up to him.

FARAL: What are we waiting for? Let's go after him!

HAIKU: Is this what the Prophet was talking about?

The clan members pause.

NARAGO: If it is, we stick together. 

HAIKU: He said only one of us would defeat Tetsogara.

DUROSA: Maybe he meant all of us. 

FARAL: What?

DUROSA: We're all one aren't we?

HAIKU: Yes. We're all part of the same clan. 

A pause.

HAIKU: Come on, we finish this.


Act I Scene 4

Top of Realm.

Tetsogara stands at the top, overlooking the Realm. We PAN DOWN 
to the bottom of this large stairway, where the clan stands. We 
STEADY on each of their faces, full of hatred and intent to kill 
Tetsogara. After a breif pause, they take off up the stairs. As 
they make their way up the stairs, they fight their way through a 
horde of demon ninja's. At the top, Tetsogara turns.

TETSOGARA: Welcome to the very top...the peak of the Twilight 
Realm. Beautiful view isn't it?

Tetsogara turns around and looks over the Realm again.

TETSOGARA: I only wish that I could have one more battle with 
Kobiyashi Tatsu. All of you are worthless 
           excuses for fighters. 

He turns to them.

TETSOGARA: Except for you...

He looks at Haiku.

TETSOGARA: I'm surprised by your determination.

He looks over to Faral.

TETSOGARA: And you...you're not bad either. But the other two I 
could do without. 

Tetsogara pauses.

TETSOGARA: What do you say, Faral...

He gets into a figting position.

TETSOGARA: ...care to try your luck?

A pause as Faral gets into his fighting stance.

HAIKU: Faral...

FARAL: No. I have to see. I have to see if I really am strong 
enough to take over this clan some day.

HAIKU: But you are...you don't have to see if you are.

Faral looks away from Haiku and runs at Tetsogara. He swings his 
staff, but Tetsogara blocks it and spins to cut into Faral's 
chest with his sword. 

DUROSA: NO!

Blood spews out from his chest as he falls down and tumbles down 
in front of his clan members. 

NARAGO: Damn it...

They kneel down to their dead partner.

NARAGO: God damn it!!

Narago takes off and clashes swords with Tetsogara. The fight 
doesn't last long as Tetsogara ducks a swing and kicks him away. 
Narago rolls down the stairs and gets to his feet. As Narago 
walks toward Tetsogara again, Haiku hurls a throwing star and it 
sticks in Tetsogara's shoulder. He stumbles back and falls over 
the edge, but catches his hand on the edge.

HAIKU: Come on!

Haiku grabs Faral's body and runs down the steps with his clan.

HAIKU: We are outnumbered!

Tetsogara pulls himself up and screams out.

TETSOGARA: Cowards!! You may have escaped now, but the blow to 
your clan is quite severe!


Act I Scene 5

Junon forest.

Haiku sets Faral's body down as Narago kicks a tree.

NARAGO: God damn!

He begins to cry as Haiku looks over Faral's body. 

On the shot of Durosa comforting Narago, we FADE TO the clan 
burning Faral's body on a pile of wood. 

NARAGO: He will pay for this. Trust me...


Act II Scene 1

Tetsogara's lair.

Three demon ninja's place Sural's battered body on the ground in 
front of Tetsogara. After a moment, Sural stirs and stands up.

TETSOGARA: I can't believe you let them destroy what little pride 
you had within your body. 

SURAL: I'm sorry, sir.

TETSOGARA: I didn't exactly see the fight, but I have a good idea 
of what happened. Let me guess...they 
           caught you off guard?

Sural nods.

TETSOGARA: Do you think that was a lucky guess, Sural?

SURAL: No sir.

TETSOGARA: How do you expect to have any kind of power when 
you're beaten by three pathetic amateurs?

SURAL: I...I don't sir.

TETSOGARA: Wrong!

Tetsogara rises.

TETSOGARA: Although I am disappointed by your performance, the 
only thing you can do from this experience is 
           learn and adapt. That's the key word, Sural...adapt.
 
Sural nods.

TETSOGARA: Do you understand?

Sural nods.

TETSOGARA: Don't just nod...

SURAL: Yes sir.


Act II Scene 2

Dirt road.

Haiku, Narago and Durosa sit next to each other on the dirt road.

NARAGO: I wanted to kill him so bad. If you guys could've known 
the rage and hatred that was going through 
        me.

HAIKU: I know what it's like Narago...we all do. It's a part of 
life. But Faral died fighting, and that's--

Narago interrupts.

NARAGO: --no that's not all that matters! Damn it Haiku...it's 
not that simple. 

HAIKU: It is, Narago. Faral's dead...and there's nothing we can 
do to change that.

NARAGO: You're the one who said if one of us goes down, we all go 
down...

HAIKU: I know...but getting yourself killed just because one of 
our members is dead won't help us. 

DUROSA: Faral died fighting for what he believed in...it's what 
we all believe in right? Faral died fighting 
        Tetsogara, our sworn enemy. Isn't that enough?
 
A silence falls between the three of them.

NARAGO: No. 

Narago walks off down the dirt road.


Act II Scene 3

Tetsogara's lair.

Tetsogara sits on his throne as Sural stands in front of him.

TETSOGARA: I've hit a slight snag, Sural.

Sural is curious of Tetsogara's remark.

TETSOGARA: I always said I would kill Haiku first, but I've 
killed Faral.

SURAL: But sir, does it really matter who you kill first?

TETSOGARA: I suppose not, but I really wanted to take Haiku down 
to cause a blow to the rest of them. Perhaps 
           the loss of Faral will have the same effect...
  

Act II Scene 4

Kalro city.

Narago walks through the entrance to the city and is greeted by a 
young man.

MAN: Hello...and welcome to Kalro city...

He shakes Narago's hand.

MAN: We hope you enjoy your stay.

NARAGO: Thank you.


Act II Scene 5

Tetsogara's lair.

VINE, a beautiful woman and one of Tetsogara's soldiers, walks 
with Sural to Tetsogara's chambers.

SURAL: Tetsogara has the highest hopes for you catching the 
       clan.

VINE: I heard about how the clan showed you up.

SURAL: They didn't show me up.

VINE: Tetsogara said they did.

SURAL: Yeah well they didn't.

Sural opens the doors into the chamber, a bit angry. Vine enters 
and stands in front of Tetsogara.

TETSOGARA: Vine...what a pleasure...I've not seen you for at 
least...what? Three weeks?

VINE: Five...but who's counting?

TETSOGARA: Indeed. You understand that I need you now more than 
ever...Scope too.

VINE: Scope's pathetic. His weapon is so primitive.

TETSOGARA: Noted, but I've grown quite fond of those weapons.

VINE: Guns are nothing but a waste of time. One of the worst 
inventions mankind has ever come up with. My 
      plants are all that you need. 

TETSOGARA: To each his own.

Tetsogara smiles.

TETSOGARA: Or should I say...to each her own?

Vine smirks.

TETSOGARA: But I do need you, Vine. 


Act II Scene 6

Kalro city.

We STEADY on the shoulders of Haiku and Durosa, who spot Narago.

HAIKU: There he is...

They walk up to him.

NARAGO: Hey...

HAIKU: Narago, I'm sorry about Faral...but...

NARAGO: I...I don't wanna talk about it.

A long silence is broken by Haiku.

HAIKU: Well this looks like a good town to settle in until our 
next move. 


Act II Scene 6

Hotel. Haiku's room.

Haiku lays in his bed, unable to sleep. Durosa enters.

DUROSA: Haiku? Are you asleep?

He sits up.

HAIKU: No. What's wrong?

DUROSA: Nothing. I can't sleep either.

HAIKU: Narago?

DUROSA: Like a log...

Haiku smirks.

HAIKU: Was there something you wanted?

DUROSA: To talk...

HAIKU: Sure. What about?

DUROSA: Just...things...

A pause.

DUROSA: What are your parents like?

HAIKU: Well I don't know what they're like now, but when I was a 
kid, they were just like any kind of 
       parents...loving, caring...

Haiku smiles.

HAIKU: They'd always do the same thing every sunday morning. Dad 
would go down and get water from the creek 
       by our house, and mom would plant flowers. Then dad would 
water them with the water he got from the 
       creek.

A pause.

HAIKU: I have to see them again. 

DUROSA: What?

HAIKU: I have to see my parents again. We have to go to Sival 
city.

DUROSA: When?

A pause.

HAIKU: Tomorrow.

After a slight pause, Durosa leans in, kissing Haiku. They lay 
down on the bed together as we FADE OUT.

[CLOSING CREDITS]








NEXT EPISODE PROMO

NARRARATOR: Next time on the Twilight Realm...the clan 
            encounters Vine...

Cut to Durosa fighting Vine.

NARRARATOR: The woman who controls all plant life will wreak 
havoc on them...

VINE'S VOICE: Either you fight me alone...

Cut to Haiku and Narago trapped in several vines, unable to 
escape.

VINE'S VOICE: ...or they die...

BLACK OUT.
