INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
A nice house, small but nice. JOE COOPERMAN is lying on the sofa
watching television. He reaches into the popcorn and CRUNCHES them.
The phone RINGS
It startles Joe, he reaches for it which is right next to him but he's
had a hard day's football training and can hardly move.
JOE
Hello.
MAN
Hello.
JOE
What can I do for you?
MAN
Well, you can do a lot for me.
JOE
Excuse me?
MAN
Ever thought about what it'd be
be like to be dead?
JOE
No.
MAN
Believe me, it's not exactly a
fun thing.
Silence.
MAN
So, Joe... It is Joe isn't it?
JOE
Yeah, how did you know?
MAN
I know more about you than you
think, Mr Cooperman.
JOE
Do I know you?
MAN
Maybe you do, maybe you don't.
JOE
Look, I don't like games.
MAN
That's a shame because I do.
JOE
Well, if you mean Twister or
Monopoly than I suppose they're
okay.
MAN
Do you want to die, Joe?
JOE
(curious)
No, why do you?
MAN
Is that a threat?
JOE
No.
MAN
Good, because I get angry when
people threaten me.
JOE
I'm sure you do-
BEEP! Another caller is trying to get through to the phone.
JOE
I've gotta go.
CLICK! Joe hangs up the phone and presses a button.
JOE
Hello.
NOAH
Hey, dick, where the fuck are
you?
JOE
What?
NOAH
We're going to see that movie,
the Possessor.
JOE
Shit! I forgot all about it, I'll
be right there.
NOAH
Hurry up!
CLICK! He hangs up and stands but...
The phone RINGS again.
JOE
I'm coming!
MAN
Where to?
JOE
Oh, nowhere.
MAN
Mind if I join in?
JOE
Who are you?
MAN
A friend of the family's.
JOE
Well no one's in at the moment-
MAN
I know!
JOE
What do you want?
MAN
Where is she?
JOE
Who?
MAN
Brooke Carter!
JOE
(shocked)
I don't know!
MAN
Oh come on, Joe, you are her
cousin. If anyone knew where she
was it'd be you.
JOE
How do you know that?
MAN
I told you, I'm a friend of the
family's.
JOE
Don't call here again!
CLICK! He hangs up again. He walks through to the kitchen and searches
for his clothes in the laundry basket.
THE PHONE RINGS.
Joe hesitates but does answer it.
JOE
What?
MAN
Don't hang up on me.
JOE
What do you want?
MAN
Don't you want to talk to your
Uncle Charlie?
Joe's face turns pale and ghostly.
MAN
What's the matter? Cat go your
tongue?
JOE
(spooked)
You can't be... You're dead.
MAN
Yeah they said that twice before
but I keep coming back.
JOE
What do you want?
MAN
Where is Brooke?
JOE
I don't know.
MAN
Joseph, that's the wrong answer.
JOE
I swear I don't know.
MAN
I think you're lying.
JOE
I'm not!
Silence.
MAN
Do you want to be dissected?
JOE
(nervous)
What?
MAN
If you don't tell me where she
is than I'll kill you.
JOE
I don't fucking know where she
is!
MAN
Don't use that language at me!
JOE
Just leave me alone!
CLICK! He throws the phone in the sink and pours water over it. He
closes the back door and shuts the curtains... He is scared.
EXT. CINEMA
There is a big queue for the movie premiere of THE POSSESSOR based on
the incidents that have occurred in the past two years. NOAH PETERS, RIA
HARVEY, and CLAIRE WALKER are waiting in the line. It is a clear night,
with a gentle breeze.
RIA
Where is Joe?
NOAH
He said he'd be here.
RIA
Yeah, but he's not!
NOAH
Well, it's not as if it's you
he's standing up is it?
RIA
No, it's my best friend!
CLAIRE
Hey guys, don't worry about it.
NOAH
We're still gonna see the movie
though aint we?
RIA
What is so good about that
fucking movie?
NOAH
(spooky voice)
It is based on a true story!
RIA
Yeah right.
NOAH
No, it's true.
CLAIRE
I'm just gonna go home.
RIA
Claire, when I see Joe I'll
kill him!
Claire nods and gives them a fake smile. She walks away, into the
darkness of the night. Ria turns to Noah in a mood.
NOAH
What?
RIA
Your "mate" just stood my best
friend up.
NOAH
Forget about them. Tonight,
it's all about us.
RIA
Yeah, us and that "true" story.
NOAH
It's true! A load of kids were
killed a couple of years back
in a city near this one.
RIA
And who was the killer?
NOAH
The spirit of Charlie Stone. He
was out for revenge after his
daughter killed him when she
was really little.
RIA
Did he kill her?
NOAH
Charlie didn't kill by actual
one-on-one, he made their
deaths look like accidents. He
was banished from this world
by his daughter but she was
unsuccessful. A year later he
returned and started to kill
all her friends. He even made
a helicopter crash into her
friends house!
RIA
Has the spirit gone now?
NOAH
The daughter banished him again
but if it failed the first time
it might fail again and he could
return for revenge...
Ria is shaken by the story. Noah laughs when he sees her reaction.
NOAH
It was a joke, Ria, there's no
such thing as a spirit!
RIA
You asshole, I believed you!
She hits him in the arm, repeatedly.
RIA
I can't believe you just did
that!
NOAH
I'm sorry, I was just having a
little fun. You didn't believe
all that Charlie Stone shit
did you?
Ria shoots him and icy look as she enters the Cinema. Noah follows her
in, still laughing.
INT. HALLWAY
Joe is upstairs and pulls out his mobile phone. He dials in a number and
waits for the caller to pick up.
JOE
Aunt Denise, I think he's back
and in my house!
DENISE
Who's back?
JOE
(sadly)
Uncle Charlie!
Silence.
JOE
I got a phone call, he said
that he wanted to know where
Brooke was but-
DENISE
You didn't say where she was
did you?
JOE
No, of course not.
DENISE
Good. Joe, it's probably just
some kids messing about, you
know, with the movie out and
everything.
JOE
Yeah, I guess you're right.
DENISE
Just calm down.
JOE
I am, I'm calm.
DENISE
Well, I've got to go now but
ring me if anyone phones you
again.
JOE
Sure.
DENISE
Bye, sweetheart.
CLICK! Th phone goes dead. Joe moves through the hallway and into his
bedroom.
INT. BEDROOM
He locks the door and sits on his bed. His bedroom is a shrine to
football, he loves it, there's nothing else he enjoys most. He stands
and starts to kick his football around the room but...
The phone RINGS.
JOE
Hello.
MAN
You fucking hang up on me again
and I swear I'll gut you like a
fish!
Joe's stomach is turned upside down by this comment. He backs away from
the window and stands completely still in the middle of the room.
MAN
Have I got your attention?
JOE
Yes.
MAN
Where is Brooke?
JOE
I don't know-
MAN
Bullshit! Where the fuck is my
daughter?
JOE
I wont tell you.
MAN
Joseph Cooperman, a big brave
boy. Drop the act, Joe, I know
you want to tell me.
JOE
I don't want to tell you, and I
wont.
MAN
If you don't than you will die!
Joe is sick to the stomach, he starts feeling dizzy and then he gets a
very bad headache.
MAN
Where is she?
JOE
(painfully)
I wont tell you!
MAN
I will give you one more chance
before I kill you... Where is
Brooke Carter?
JOE
(tortured with pain)
No... Do what you want with me
but Brooke is my cousin and I
wont let you go and kill her.
MAN
You've made your decision then.
Silence.
MAN
Goodbye, Joe.
CLICK! The phone goes dead. Joe turns to see the reflection of a shadow
in the fish tank. He steps back but trips on the football, he grabs the
table and swings round but loses control. He dives into the wall where
he becomes faint. He stumbles backwards and hits a world globe. It rolls
off the table, onto the floor and knocks the big lamp. The lamp swings
round and CRASHES into Joe. Joe falls backwards and SMASHES through the
window where he falls from the third-story high house.
CLOSE ON JOE
His motionless face, covered with his own blood. Neighbours gather to
see the man who just fell out of his window and fell to his death.
INT. CINEMA
A screaming audience are watching "The Possessor" on the big screen.
Noah leans towards Ria and kisses her, he reaches for the popcorn and
CRUNCHES it in his mouth. He kisses her again, starting to feel her. She
stops him and is shocked.
RIA
Noah, what are you doing? This
is a public place!
NOAH
Sorry, I don't know what came
over me.
RIA
Male hormones!
NOAH
I'm gonna go for a piss.
RIA
Thanks for sharing!
Noah stands and exits the theatre. He looks around and enters the mens
toilets.
INT. TOILETS
He enters a cubicle. He moves a broom out of the way, it has a very
sharp end, he sits but he hears someone talking on the phone. He listens
to the conversation but, unknown to him, there is water below him. He
turns but slips and his head goes straight through the sharp end of the
broom. Blood squirts from the wound as his eyes flicker. He can feel the
pain and then, he sees the reflection of a shadow in the metal toilet
flusher. His eyes fill with red cracks and tears. He tries to shout but
can't, he is waving his arms, banging on the side but no one comes to
his rescue... He dies.
INT. CINEMA
Ria is sitting alone in the theatre, she looks around to see where Noah
is but he hasn't returned. She slumps in her chair but...
Her mobile phone RINGS
RIA
Hello.
MAN
Hello.
RIA
Who is this?
MAN
Who's this?
RIA
Ria Harvey, and you are?
MAN
The man of your dreams.
RIA
Very funny!
MAN
Or maybe I'm your worst nightmare.
RIA
Who are you?
MAN
Where's your boyfriend, Ria?
RIA
How do you know I have a
boyfriend?
MAN
Because I just killed him!
Ria's heart stops, she hears the man's deep and heavy breathing and she
just feels so ill.
MAN
And if you don't do exactly
what I say, you'll die with
him. Understand?
RIA
Yes.
MAN
Your Mother is Della Harvey,
correct?
RIA
Yes.
MAN
A want you to steal a file from
her, it is Brooke Carter.
RIA
I can't!
MAN
You have twenty minutes to do so
or you will be dead!
Ria cries in her arms as the phone goes dead. She looks around her,
nobody has the slightest clue about what just happened. She quickly runs
through the crowds and exits.
INT. CINEMA - OUTSIDE THE TOILETS
Ria runs to the door and knocks on it. She is shaking, unsure of what to
do. She continues to knock but there is no answer. Suddenly someone
comes out of the toilets.
RIA
Is anyone in there?
The man shakes his head. Ria starts to get worried, she slowly pushes
the door open and peers into the toilets.
RIA
(calling)
Noah, are you in there?
Silence.
RIA
Babe?
She steps into the toilets and closes the door after her. She waits and
listens but can't see or hear anything. She looks around but no one is
in there, then...
Her mobile phone RINGS.
It makes her jump. She pulls it out and we see that she is scared. She
presses a button and slowly puts the phone to her ear. She is silent for
a minute but then she hears heavy breathing.
RIA
(quietly)
Hello?
MAN
Hello, Ria.
RIA
Where the fuck is Noah?
MAN
Right in front of you!
Ria glances at the cubicle in front of her, it is locked. She slowly
looks under the door and sees a foot. She drops her phone and instantly
knocks on the door.
RIA
(fearful)
Noah... Noah, please... Are you
in there?
She starts to push against the door but it refuses to move. She kicks
and punches the door but...
A SECURITY GUARD enters.
SECURITY GUARD
What's going on?
RIA
Please help, it's my boyfriend,
I think he's hurt. Please help!
The security guard is curious, he calmly knocks on the door and waits
but there is only silence.
SECURITY GUARD
Is anyone in there?
Silence.
RIA
Open the fucking door!
SECURITY GUARD
It's locked.
RIA
Break it down then.
SECURITY GUARD
That would be criminal damage!
RIA
Noah could be fucking dead!
Ria starts to kick the door but the security guard stops her. He pulls
out his gun and stands her back. He forcefully kicks the door, it swings
open, revealing Noah's lifeless body. Ria SCREAMS in horror as she sees
his head has been pierced by the wooden broom. The security guard is
also disgusted by the horrific sight. Ria steps back, shaking her head
in disbelief. She glances at the mirror where she sees a shadow. She is
frightened, she quickly turns but knocks the hand dryer off the wall.
The security guard, not seeing Ria, jumps out of his skin and waves his
gun at her. Ria dives out of the way as he shoots at her. Ria lands on
Noahs body, she slowly turns to see his blood-covered head and
SCREAMS...

TITLE CARD
"THE CALL 3"
FADE IN:
EXT. PARK - AFTERNOON
Paul Reynolds is sitting on the bench, looking at the children playing
in the park. He is now twenty years old but looks a lot better than he
did a year ago. He often came to the park because it was a peaceful
place, no harm could come to this place. He saw the children's parents
playing with them. He waves to one of the children.
CLOSE ON HIS LEFT HAND
There is no wedding ring, he is no longer married to Brooke Carter.
CHILD
Uncle Paul!
We see that Kim Ford is with the small child, Harry Shield, her nephew.
She smiles at Paul, she too is twenty and looks more beautiful than
ever. She sits next to Paul.
KIM
How are you?
PAUL
Good, you?
KIM
I'm okay, my sister's gone out
of town so I'm looking after
Harry.
PAUL
I see he still remembers me.
KIM
You've only been gone for two
months, Paul.
PAUL
It feels like forever. I just
had to get away. I wasn't sure
if I could come back here, not
after me and Brooke split up.
KIM
What a time to come back, did
you know about the movie?
PAUL
Yeah... The Possessor!
KIM
Have you heard from...
PAUL
Brooke? No. It's like she's
disappeared off the face of the
the planet.
KIM
I spoke to her Mum but she wont
tell me where she is... I don't
even think she knows.
PAUL
Anyway, that's a sore subject
for me. Did you know I've met
someone?
KIM
Someone?
PAUL
Yeah, Megan.
KIM
Megan O'Connell? Please tell me
you're not with her.
PAUL
Why, what's wrong with her?
KIM
She's a first class bitch! She
was the one who tried to split
me and Leon up before... Well,
he died.
PAUL
That was over a year ago now.
KIM
Yeah I know.
PAUL
She makes me feel good, you
know? She makes me laugh, which
is something I never thought I
could do again, not after the
shit Brooke put me through.
KIM
That's not fair, Paul.
PAUL
She's the one that caused it
all.
KIM
What has happened to you? You
use to be so nice and never had
a bad thing to say about anyone.
PAUL
Things change. Brooke's said
some things about me before...
She even said that I could never
replace Tommy!
KIM
I didn't know Tommy but she did
really love him.
PAUL
And I thought she loved me.
KIM
She did. Paul, you were together
for a long time.
PAUL
I just don't understand. One day
we couldn't be happier and then
the next she wants a divorce!
KIM
I guess you two just grew apart.
PAUL
No, Kim, she just wanted to put
this whole thing behind her...
And that includes us.
KIM
Can you blame her?
PAUL
Yeah I can. If she hadn't of
killed her Father.
KIM
(sarcastically)
Oh I forgot, you're so good and
pure!
HARRY
Why are you arguing?
Kim sighs.
KIM
We're not... This is how Paul
treats all his friends.
PAUL
Excuse me?
KIM
You say you still love Brooke
but yet you've got a bit on the
side and not even attempting to
find her!
PAUL
How can I? No one knows where
she is. She doesn't even want to
be found.
KIM
All I know is, if I loved a
person that much, I'd stop at
nothing to find him.
Paul thinks about her response but a radio catches their attention.
ANTHONY ALDRIDGE is walking with his stereo.
DISKJOCKEY
(from radio)
... Was found dead in the
cinema toilets by his girlfriend
and the Security Guard...
Kim shoots Paul a worried look. She then turns back to Anthony and
motions for him to come to her, he does so. He is about nineteen and has
the whole home-boy look.
ANTHONY
Yo, you hear about last night?
KIM
What?
ANTHONY
Joe Cooperman and Noah Peters
died last night.
KIM
(apprehensively)
How?
ANTHONY
Joe fell out of his window and
broke just about every bone in
his body.
KIM
(to Paul)
Brooke's cousin!
ANTHONY
Noah was found by Ria in the
mens bogs, his head was impaled
through a sharp wooden broom
handle.
PAUL
Kim, it's not what you're
thinking.
ANTHONY
What you thinking?
KIM
Thanks, Ant, see ya around.
She smiles as he begins to walk away.
ANTHONY
There was one more thing... A
gold ring was found in Joe's
mouth!
Paul and Kim exchange curious looks. Anthony walks away, with his music
BLARING.
PAUL
Kim-
KIM
Don't tell me it's just a
fucking coincidence, Paul! Joe
and Noah, both in one night,
don't you find that a little
strange?
PAUL
These things happen.
KIM
Not like that they don't! How
could Noah just fall on a sharp
pole?
PAUL
You're getting paranoid. Look,
Kim, everyone knows about the
whole thing. Especially now
with the movie out, it's gonna
be some fucked up freak that
wants attention!
KIM
Aren't you the least bit curious?
PAUL
Yeah, of course. Noah was a mate
of mine but there's no point in
making something out of nothing.
Just then Linda Jennings approaches them, she has her camera man with
her. They are smiling and after a story. Linda hasn't changed much, she
is still the power-driven reporter bitch! Kim looks at her and moans.
KIM
We don't know anything about last
night before you ask.
LINDA
Why bring it up if you don't know
anything?
PAUL
Linda, get the fuck out of my
face!
LINDA
I thought we were all friends!
KIM
I'm sorry I must of missed that.
LINDA
After all, I was invited to your
wedding, I guess I shouldn't
bring that up, what with you being
divorced and everything.
KIM
Fuck off, Linda!
LINDA
Do you think he's back?
PAUL
There is no he, she, or it! It's
over and we want to get on with
our lives. We don't need you
snooping around every corner.
He walks away, with both Kim and Linda staring at him. He turns the
corner, he sees a shadow but dismisses it. Then, a shadow overlays him,
he sharply turns to see...
DENISE CARTER
He sighs with relief. Denise looks better than she did but still has a
distressed feeling about her.
DENISE
Did I scare you?
PAUL
I'm just a bit jumpy.
DENISE
I assume you heard then.
PAUL
I have.
DENISE
And?
PAUL
And nothing! This is nothing!
DENISE
That's what I keep telling
myself.
PAUL
Ms Carter, I don't understand
why people keep bringing it up.
I just want to forget about it.
DENISE
It's not that easy I'm afraid.
Silence.
DENISE
I know you're hurting, Paul,
everyone is.
Silence.
DENISE
Sometimes we just have to
accept the fact that it's not
going to be forgotten.
PAUL
It's okay for Brooke to forget
about it though!
DENISE
I don't think Brooke will ever
forget it. She has to live
with it for the rest of her
life.
PAUL
Don't we all? Why is it that
she can just disappear and not
face it?
DENISE
Brooke will-
PAUL
I'm sick of it. I'm sick of all
the Charlie Stone shit, the
movie, and most of all... Brooke
Carter!
CUT TO:
EXT. A SECLUDED HOUSE
The house is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and fields.
There is an enormous drive way to the house. On the drive way we see a
young woman walking. It is...
BROOKE CARTER
She looks as beautiful as ever. She appears to be an ordinary woman but
her eyes tell another story. They show a life of pain and torture. Even
her smile isn't as convincing as it once was. She unlocks the front door
and disappears from view.
INT. HOUSE - LOUNGE
Brooke closes the door and locks it, there are millions of locks. She
looks through the window, checking that there is no on there. She then
turns to her phone and realises she has one new message on the answering
machine. She walks to it and presses a button.
DENISE
(on answering machine)
Brooke, honey, it's me. How are
you? I have some bad news I'm
afraid. It's your cousin, Joe,
he died last night...
Brooke sits on the sofa with a magazine. She is reading it and listening
to the message.
DENISE
(continuing)
There's something else, a young
man was also found dead last
night... His head was impaled by
a wooden spear...
Brooke is beginning to feel uneasy and unsafe. She looks around the
room... Nothing. She turns back to the phone.
DENISE
(continuing)
And something was found on the
body... Tommy Hilton's ring!
CLOSE ON BROOKE'S FACE
Her eyes fill with a tear, a tear of fear and pain. Her lips tremble
with dread that Charlie Stone might be back. She forces herself to
listen to the rest of the message.
DENISE
(continuing)
I didn't want to tell you but
you have a right to know. Well
that's all I had to say really,
call me when you get this
message. Take care, love you.
BEEP! The message ends as Brooke stands. She looks around and then peers
through the window. It has suddenly gotten dark. She turns a lamp on and
peeks through the other window and can't see anything. But just at that
tense and emotional moment...
The phone RINGS.
Brooke jumps out of her skin. She gulps and slowly walks to the phone,
it continues to RING. The echo of it bounces through Brooke's head,
causing her a headache. She decides to wait for the answering machine to
take the call.
MAN'S VOICE
(on answering machine)
Brooke... Are you there? It's
me... Don't you recognise my
voice?
Brooke is stricken with horror. She does remember the voice, it's him...
Charlie Stone, her Father. She steps back, trying to escape from the
voice.
MAN
Darling, be a good girl and pick
up the phone. It's only Daddy...
Brooke picks up her mobile phone and has her fingers on nine-nine-nine.
She knows that the police wouldn't be able to do much but it makes her
feel better that someone is there for her.
MAN
Pick up the phone, Brooke, Daddy
wants to talk to you. Come on,
don't you want to speak to me?
You have to, Brooke, I'm your
Father and you know what they
say... You can't choose your
family!
Silence. Brooke is petrified, she doesn't even want to breathe as she
fears he will hear her.
MAN
Don't you love me? I love you,
angel. Pick up the fucking
phone!
(pure evil)
I wont hurt you!
She runs to the wall and pulls the phone cord out of the socket... The
voice has stopped. She breathes deeply, calmly. She turns around, facing
the window but SCREAMS when she sees CHARLIE STONE standing in front of
her. She trips over the wire and falls backwards, not taking her eyes
off the ghostly figure outside her house. She is frightened for her
life, scared that he will kill her, and basically just overwhelmed with
fear. Then...
Her mobile phone RINGS!
She looks at it and then turns back to the window. He has gone! She
jumps to her feet, spinning round, scanning the room. She looks down at
her phone and puts it to her ear.
MAN
Hello, Brooke.
It's him! She looks back at the window but there is nothing. She puts
her back to the wall so she can see the whole room.
MAN
What's the matter, cat got your
tongue?
BROOKE
(tearful)
What... What do you want?
MAN
Hmm, what do I want? I thought
you'd know the answer to that by
now... I want your blood!
Brooke drops the phone, it falls and CRASHES to the ground, the sound
echoing through the house. She shakes her head in disbelief. Then...
A BODY COMES CRASHING THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR
Brooke runs as she sees it is Charlie Stone. She jumps over the sofa and
into the kitchen. He slowly follows, he is in no rush.
INT. KITCHEN
Brooke SLAMS the door shut and tries her best to lock it but she is
shaking too much. She runs to the back door, but it wont budge. She then
instantly focuses on the door between the kitchen and the lounge...
Charlie Stone is BANGING on it.
BROOKE
(screaming)
NOOO!
She pulls open a drawer, it falls to the floor. She grabs a knife as
Charlie punches a whole through the door. She runs into the next room,
with her knife. Charlie finally breaks through the door and continues to
pursue Brooke into the next room.
INT. DINING ROOM
Charlie enters, taking a quick look around. Brooke comes out from behind
the door and STABS him. She does it again, and again. She repeatedly
stabs him. There is such anger in her eyes, there is no other person in
the world as angry and pained as her. She stabs him one more time, he
goes CRASHING through the patio doors.
CLOSE ON CHARLIE
He lies, motionless, blood pouring from his stab wounds. His face is
pale, his eyes are dark. He is the figure of pure evil. We hear Brooke's
deep breathing, she is standing over his lifeless body with the bloodied
knife. She drops it and steps back. She opens the door and begins to
cry, turning her back on Charlie. Then she hears a slight movement, she
abruptly turns back to find he is gone! She searches for him but is
horrified that he is not there. She realises that the knife is also
gone, she starts to hyperventilate but...
CHARLIE APPEARS IN FRONT OF HER
She is shocked, it's as if he just re-appeared right before her eyes.
She looks at him, he looks at her. Then...
CAMERA (P.O.V)
A sharp and bloodied knife is driven into Brooke's stomach.
CUT TO:
INT. LOUNGE
Brooke is lying on the sofa. She SCREAMS and falls off the sofa. It
takes a minute for her to realise it was a dream. She tries to breathe
properly and covers her face with her hands.
BROOKE
Don't do this!
She sits back on the sofa, still cautious. She has been through a lot in
her life and will never get over what has happened. But still, in the
back of her mind, she knows there is a chance that Charlie Stone will
return and finally take his revenge on her.
INT. CARTER RESIDENCE - LOUNGE - NIGHT
A huge lounge. Denise is sitting on the sofa, watching television. She
is channel surfing whilst on the phone. She is in mid-conversation with
Gerald Hanson, an old friend of hers.
DENISE
(on phone)
I just want a night in, Gerald.
I'm too tired for another "wild"
night out.
GERALD
(from phone)
Denise, I promised I would show
you a good time. I want to take
your mind off... You know.
DENISE
I know.
GERALD
How about I come over yours?
Denise thinks for a minute, she smiles a Gerald's determination. She
rolls over, facing the back of the sofa.
GERALD
Well?
DENISE
Okay, but only because I'm
lonely.
GERALD
I know. I'll be over soon.
DENISE
See you then.
CLICK! She hangs up and smiles again. She places the phone next to her
and pulls out a photo. It is a passport photo size of her, Brooke, and
Charlie. She slowly rips Charlie's body out of the photo and throws it
on the floor.
CLOSE ON PIECE OF PHOTO
Charlie looks like evil, even when he was still alive. We wonder how
Denise could ever of married him, a drunken and violent man. Suddenly
the piece starts to disintegrate until it has all gone!
The phone RINGS.
DENISE
(laughing)
Let me guess, you want to bring
me flowers?
MAN
Hello, Denise.
DENISE
Who's this?
MAN
Just an old friend.
Silence.
MAN
Are you ready for a reunion?
DENISE
Your voice, I recognise it.
MAN
I should think so, we were very
close.
DENISE
(thinking)
Michael?
Silence.
DENISE
Erik?
Silence. Denise is getting tired of the guessing games. She sits
properly on the sofa, still watching the television.
DENISE
I don't know, you tell me.
Silence.
MAN
Where are you?
DENISE
Why do you want to know?
MAN
Come on, Denise, we use to tell
each other everything... Well,
almost everything.
Denise is confused.
DENISE
Did we go to school together?
MAN
Maybe.
DENISE
College?
MAN
Maybe.
DENISE
It would be a lot easier if you
just told me who you are.
MAN
But that's no fun.
DENISE
I've just about had enough "fun"
to last me a life time.
MAN
So I've been told.
DENISE
What is that suppose to mean?
MAN
How is Gerald?
Denise is silent. A shiver is sent down her spine as Gerald's name is
mentioned.
DENISE
Who is this?
MAN
I know about the fun you two
were having.
DENISE
I beg your pardon.
MAN
You were married, Denise, but
you couldn't stick to one man
could you?
Silence.
MAN
You took marriage vowels, you
broke them.
Denise looks on the floor, expecting the piece of torn photo to be there
but it isn't. She searches for it. NOTHING.
MAN
(revealing himself)
I stuck to my vowels.
It's Charlie. Denise shoots to her feet. She spins around the room,
scanning it. NOTHING.
DENISE
I don't know who you are but
it is not funny anymore. How
could get pleasure out of other
people's misery. Stop phoning
me!
CLICK! She hangs up the phone. Obviously she has had a lot of prank
phone calls. However, she is still uneasy. She closes the curtains, not
looking through the window and then she grabs the phone. She dials a
number and waits.
GERALD
(from phone)
Hello, this is Gerald Hanson.
Sorry I'm not home to take your
call but if you could leave a
message I'll get back to you as
soon as possible. Thank you.
BEEP! It's his answering machine. Denise sighs.
DENISE
It's only me, someone's calling
me. I'll tell you more when you
get here.
CLICK! She hangs up. She moves to the front door, waiting for Gerald to
come. But...
BUMP! She hears a noise upstairs. She peers up the stairs.
UP THE STAIRS
It is total darkness. She reaches for the light switch, not taking her
eyes off the stairs. She turns it on, NOTHING.
BUMP! There's a noise in the kitchen. She quickly turns to the kitchen
door but it's closed. She steps forward, warily. She walks towards the
door and slowly pushes it open...
INT. KITCHEN
Nothing, the room is empty. She is relieved as she checks the back door.
It is locked. She turns but...
THE BLENDER SWITCHES ON!
Denise jumps back, petrified by the noise. She almost runs to the
blender to switch it off. She looks at the socket.
CLOSE ON SOCKET
There is no plug in it so how could the blender work?
BUMP! There is a noise in the lounge. Denise is getting worried, she
reaches for the portable phone and dials. She waits.
MAN'S VOICE
Hello.
DENISE
Howard?
SHERIFF WALKER
Is that you, Denise?
DENISE
Yes. I think someone is in my
house.
SHERIFF WALKER
Are you sure?
DENISE
I'm positive.
INT. WALKER RESIDENCE - HALLWAY
The hallway connects to both the stairs and the lounge. SHERIFF HOWARD
WALKER is on the phone. He is only in his boxers, we realise that it is
late.
SHERIFF WALKER
Okay, Denise, I'll be over as
soon as I can.
DENISE
Thanks, Howard.
CLICK! He hangs up. CLAIRE WALKER runs down the stairs with a baseball
bat, she is in her nightgown. She is about nineteen and a beautiful
young lady.
CLAIRE
Dad, I thought you were a
burglar.
SHERIFF WALKER
I've gotta go to Denise's
house.
CLAIRE
What's wrong wither her this
time?
SHERIFF WALKER
Claire! She's been through a
tough time.
CLAIRE
If I didn't know better, I'd
think you were having an affair!
Sheriff Walker frowns at her.
SHERIFF WALKER
Go back to bed but don't wake
your Mother.
CLAIRE
Okay but be careful... Don't
let the infamous Charlie Stone
get you.
Sheriff Walker smiles and shakes his head.
SHERIFF WALKER
Bed!
CLAIRE
I'm going.
She runs back up the stairs. Sheriff Walker walks through to the next
room, the lounge.
INT. LOUNGE
He opens a small basket and reaches for his jeans and shirt. He puts
them on but hears a BUMP upstairs. He quickly puts his shirt on and
returns to the hallway.
INT. CARTER RESIDENCE - LOUNGE
Denise is sitting on the sofa. Gerald still hasn't arrived. She looks at
her watch and sighs. She goes to pick up the phone but...
It RINGS again.
DENISE
(moody)
Where are you, Gerald?
MAN
Are you and Gerald a couple?
DENISE
I don't know who you are and I
don't particularly care. Just
leave me alone.
MAN
But I can't do that, Denise.
DENISE
Why?
MAN
Because I want revenge.
Denise is starting to get impatient.
DENISE
I don't know why you would want
to imitate Charlie Stone, he was
a vicious coward!
MAN
Was? That's past tense, I'm here
and ready to cut you to pieces!
CLICK! Denise hangs up and throws the phone on the floor. She turns to
the television. It is an interview with ANNA FREEMAN, an actress who
plays Brooke in "The Possessor".
ANNA
It has been so fun playing
Brooke. She is such a complex
character.
INTERVIEWER
How do you mean?
ANNA
When Brooke was a child, she
killed her Father because he use
to beat her Mother. Of course,
they didn't admit to the murder
but it has played on their minds
ever since.
INTERVIEWER
You've done a lot of research
on her then?
ANNA
Loads! I needed to feel like
Brooke to actually be her.
INTERVIEWER
Did you and the other cast
connect?
ANNA
Straight away. Courtney Cox was
suppose to be joining us but she
was too busy on other projects.
INTERVIEWER
Do you think there will be a
sequel?
ANNA
Of course! I mean, the murders
happened again in real life so
there has to be a sequel.
INTERVIEWER
And will you be returning for
it?
ANNA
If I'm asked. Maybe there'll
even be a third, a trilogy!
CLOSE ON DENISE'S EYES
They widen with fear. Her eyes hold a dark secret, a secret that would
ruin her life, as well as Brooke's. She vowed never to speak of it again
but maybe she has to.
INT. WALKER RESIDENCE - UPSTAIRS HALLWAY
Sheriff Walker is investigating the noise. He looks around, searching
for the light switch but it's too dark to find it. He walks towards a
door and KNOCKS.
INT. CLAIRE'S BEDROOM
Claire is lying in her bed with the television on. She is also watching
the Anna Freeman interview. Sheriff Walker enters.
SHERIFF WALKER
Are you okay?
CLAIRE
I thought you were going?
SHERIFF WALKER
I was. What were those noises?
CLAIRE
The banging?
SHERIFF WALKER
Yeah.
CLAIRE
I thought it was you.
They both look around. Claire gets out of bed and looks down the
hallway. She looks straight to the door down the other side.
CLAIRE
Maybe Mum's awake.
Sheriff Walker motions for Claire to stay there. He grabs her baseball
bat and slowly steps forward.
INT. CARTER RESIDENCE - LOUNGE
Denise is still alone in the house. Gerald is nowhere to be seen. She
has turned the television off and is sitting in silence. Then...
The phone RINGS!
Denise is unsure of whether to answer it or not. She slowly reaches for
it but it stops. Then...
THE TELEVISION TURNS ON
Denise sharply turns to the television in shock.
REPORTER
... The end is near...
IT TURNS BACK OFF AGAIN
Denise realises that it was a message from someone. She now knows that
she was talking to Charlie Stone on the phone. She reaches for it but...
It RINGS again.
DENISE
Hello.
MAN
Believe me now?
DENISE
What do you want?
MAN
I want you... Dead!
CLICK! The phone goes dead, someone or something has cut the wires. This
is the point where we know there is going to be no more phone calls,
Denise will be attacked.
DENISE
(to herself)
You wont get me, I'm a
survivor.
She runs to the front door and grabs the handle but the locks slide
across, bolting the door shut. Denise tries to unlock it but the locks
wont budge. She runs through to the next room.
INT. KITCHEN
She almost dives for the back door, reaching for the handle. But a chair
launches towards it before it. The back of the door traps under the
handle, keeping the door locked. Denise tries to move the chair but
realises she can't. She looks at the window and smiles.
DENISE
You didn't think of that did
you, asshole!
She picks up a tin of food and throws it at the window, but it only
CRACKS. She then hurls the radio through it. The window SMASHES as she
covers her eyes from the pieces of glass. She climbs onto the sideboard,
she looks cautiously at the edges of glass in the window. She puts one
leg over and then continues to do so with the other, but she does it
very slowly, as not to hurt herself.
INT. WALKER RESIDENCE - UPSTAIRS HALLWAY
It is dark in the hallway. Sheriff Walker and Claire are edging towards
the bedroom door. They are looking all around, through every open door.
Claire is now holding the baseball bat.
CLAIRE
Are we actually gonna go in
there or spend the whole night
walking towards it?
SHERIFF WALKER
I don't want to go in there
unless the noises are actually
from there.
CLAIRE
Mum may be diseased but she's
not a hideous freak!
SHERIFF WALKER
I didn't say she was.
EXT. CARTER RESIDENCE - GARDEN
Denise is half in the house and half in the garden. By the window she is
climbing out of we see railings only a metre away. The spikes on it are
very sharp. Denise finally gets out of the house but gets her foot stuck
on a bit of the glass in the window. She tugs at it but it wont move.
DENISE
Shit!
She continues to pull but decides just to take the shoe off instead. She
does so, trying to balance but the reflection of a shadow in the bit of
broken glass causes her to quickly turn. She loses her balance and
begins to fall.
(BEGIN SLOW MOTION SEQUENCES)
INT. WALKER RESIDENCE - HALLWAY
Sheriff Walker and Claire are STILL in the hallway! Claire is behind her
Father, just in case there is something wrong. Sheriff Walker grabs the
handle as a shadow reflects in it.
EXT. GARDEN
Denise grabs hold of the plastic drainpipe. She is trying to balance on
the narrow windowsill. Her fingers begin to slip, one-by-one until her
whole hand is free from the drainpipe. She reaches out for anything but
there is nothing. She falls backwards...
INT. WALKER RESIDENCE - HALLWAY
Sheriff Walker turns the handle and begins to open the door. His face is
curious but his eyes tell another story. Claire is uneasy, like she
knows something is amiss.
(STOP SLOW MOTION SEQUENCES)
EXT. GARDEN
Denise falls backwards onto the railings. The metal spikes pierce
through her body. She SCREAMS with pain, such torture in her voice. The
CAMERA PANS to reveal how far her body has gone into the spikes.
INT. WALKER RESIDENCE - HALLWAY
Sheriff Walker finally opens the door, it turns aside as he stares in
horror. Claire looks over his shoulder, but sees the most horrific thing
she will ever see.
CLAIRE'S P.O.V
We are looking into the bedroom. There are flames everywhere, the room
has somehow caught on fire. The CAMERA MOVES to reveal EDITH WALKER'S
dead body hanging from the four-poster bed, her legs have been ignited
by the flames.
She has been hung by her own bed sheets. Claire SCREAMS in distress.
EXT. GARDEN
Denise is hanging onto her life, she is not ready to die. We see
Gerald's car through the narrow gap in the fence. Denise tries to call
to him but she is in too much pain.
EXT. FRONT DOOR
Gerald presses the door bell. He waits, looking at the watch on his
wrist. He sighs.
GERALD
I'm late!
He glances round and sees the broken window over the fence. He quickly
runs to it.
GERALD
(calling out)
Denise... Are you there?
EXT. GARDEN
Denise is lying on the spikes, her feet dangling in the air. She can see
a water can out of the corner of her eye. With all her strength she
manages to kick it over, making a slight BANG!
EXT. DRIVEWAY
Gerald hears the noise and tries to open the gate to the garden but it
is locked. He takes a run-up and CRASHES into the gate. The gate swings
into the drainpipe, causing it to break away from the wall. It goes
CRASHING down to the ground as Gerald sees Denise. He runs to her but...
CREAK!
Gerald slowly looks up as he sees the tiles fall off the roof. They come
hurdling at him, he tries to block them with his arm but they are too
hurtful for him to take. He backs away from Denise, (who is almost
dead). He is out of the way of the tiles and watches as they bury
Denise. He is shocked but then a strong wind blows and...
SCRAPE!
Gerald slowly looks up again as a metal spike plunges into his head. He
stands for a minute, with the weather vane pierced through his head. He
shows great pain through his eyes and then collapses on the ground... In
his own pool of blood. Then a card falls down onto his dead body...
CLOSE ON CARD
It is an ID CARD of TOMMY HILTON!
EXT. PARK - MORNING
Paul is sitting on the bench, we notice that he always comes here to
think. His face shows that he is disturbed by something. He use to think
that his life was in danger every second of the day, he would have to
watch where he trod and looked about twenty times before he crossed the
road. He never once thought that death would catch up with him, he has
always tried to deny it. He now has to rethink everything. Suddenly, out
of the blue comes...
MEGAN O'CONNELL
She kisses him on the cheek and sits with him. She knows there is
something wrong with him, she can tell by the look in his eyes. She
hands him a newspaper...
CLOSE ON NEWSPAPER ARTICLE
"Three mysterious deaths occurred last night. Edith Walker, wife of
Sheriff Walker and Mother to Claire Walker, died last night in an
enigmatic manner. Sheriff Walker and her daughter found her in her
bedroom, the room was on fire and she was dead..."
Paul looks up at Megan.
PAUL
So.
MEGAN

Paul is reluctant to read the article but there is a voice in his head
that tells him to.
CLOSE ON NEWSPAPER ARTICLE
"Two bodies were found outside a home, their deaths also happened last
night. The bodies have been identified as Gerald Hanson and Denise
Carter, the woman who believed that her deceased husband had come back
to kill her and her daughter, Brooke Carter. Sheriff Walker was yet to
comment on the occurrences but will hold a press conference tonight."
Paul shakes his head and folds the newspaper in half. We see that he is
trying to deny the evidence that Charlie Stone is back, but he can't. He
thought it was all over but it's only just begun.
MEGAN
I think you need police
protection.
PAUL
No.
MEGAN
But it's a pattern, Paul-
PAUL
Megan, if Charlie Stone is back
then police protection isn't
gonna stop him.
MEGAN
You have to do something.
Paul is about to speak but is interrupted. A microphone is shoved in his
face, he pushes it away. The CAMERA PANS to reveal...
LINDA JENNINGS
Paul shoots her an icy look. He stands but Linda blocks his way, she
flashes her innocent smile at him.
PAUL
What do you want, Linda?
LINDA
I just want to talk.
PAUL
I'm not in the mood for talking.
LINDA
So? Is there actually a time
when you are?
PAUL
What do you want from me?
LINDA
An interview.
PAUL
No.
LINDA
The public have a right to know
about it all.
PAUL
Don't you think they know
enough by now?
LINDA
No, I don't.
MEGAN
I think you've said enough.
LINDA
Oh, and who are you? The little
rebound girl?
MEGAN

PAUL
Stop it, the both of you.
LINDA
(cold)
How is Brooke?
Paul feels like punching her, he clinches his fists but knows he can't
hit her, he could never do that to a woman. Megan holds his hand.
LINDA
Paul...
PAUL
(angry)
What?
LINDA
We do need to talk.
Paul smirks and goes to walk away.
LINDA
Off the record.
Paul continues to walk away.
LINDA
It's about Brooke.
Paul stops dead in his tracks, he turns to Megan who obviously resents
Brooke because although Paul might say he hates her, he does still love
her.
LINDA
I think she's in danger.
Paul is confused, he is unsure of what to do. It's like there's a bridge
and he's in the middle. Brooke and Megan are on either side of him, he
has to chose which one to run to.
MEGAN
Come on, let's go.
She tugs at his sleeve but he doesn't move. Megan knows what he wants to
do but she can't believe it.
MEGAN
I get it, if you'd rather go to
Brooke than me, fine!
PAUL
Megan, if she's in danger-
MEGAN
(sadly)
I understand. You and Brooke
have a past, something which
we're never gonna have.
She walks away from Paul and Linda. She is crying. Paul feels guilty
about the whole thing but he has to do what he feels is right.
LINDA
Don't feel bad.
INT. CAFÉ - LATER
Paul and Linda are sitting in the small Café, it is almost empty. We see
a notice on the wall.
CLOSE ON NOTICE
"Home of the spirit".
Paul glances at the notice but doesn't think anything of it. There are
obviously loads of these signs all over the town. Paul sips his coffee
and turns back to Linda, they are in mid-conversation.
LINDA
You don't believe it?
PAUL
No.
LINDA
There have been five deaths and
they're just like before-
PAUL
I don't want to believe it.
LINDA
Well I'm afraid you have to.
Paul sighs, he is bored of having the same conversation over and over
again.
PAUL
Why did you say Brooke was in
danger?
LINDA
A file was stolen from Della
Harvey's office.
PAUL
So.
LINDA
It was a file on Brooke.
PAUL
What was it about?
LINDA
Where she is.
Paul rolls his eyes.
LINDA
What is wrong with you? She
could die.
PAUL

Linda sees someone enter, the figure stands behind Paul. Linda is about
to say something to him but he beats her to it.
PAUL
Maybe Brooke Carter is better

VOICE

Paul quickly turns around, he is shocked to see...
BROOKE
He realises that she heard him talking. He stands and examines her, he
hasn't seen her for months.
PAUL
What are you doing here?
BROOKE
I came home.
Linda gets up and hugs her. Brooke is surprised.
LINDA
I've been trying to find you.
BROOKE
To get a story?
LINDA
Why does everyone think I'm a
total bitch?
PAUL
Because you are!
Linda ignores his comment.
PAUL

BROOKE
About my Mother? Kim phoned me.
PAUL
Figures.
BROOKE
Don't you think I have a right
to know my own Mother's dead?
Silence.
BROOKE
I heard there were some things
left on the... The bodies.
LINDA
Yes, possessions of Tommy
Hilton.
BROOKE
What do you think it means?
PAUL
Nothing... There was no point
in you coming back.
He pushed past her and exits the Café. Brooke sighs, Linda sits back
down. Brooke joins her.
LINDA
He's a bit tense.
BROOKE
I'd say hateful.
LINDA
He doesn't hate you.
BROOKE
Yes he does and I don't blame
him. I've put him through a lot
and it's hurt him.
LINDA
You're not to blame for that.
BROOKE
Aren't I?
Silence.
LINDA
Anyway, I was gonna try and get
some information about Tommy
Reynolds.
Brooke is saddened, she still thinks about Tommy all the time and can't
stop thinking that his death was her fault.
LINDA
I mean, his possessions must be
a clue of some sort.
BROOKE
Yeah.
LINDA
Maybe you could help me, only
if you want to.
BROOKE

EXT. SIDEWALK - LATER
Megan is walking. She passes loads of shops, we sees another of those
signs. The CAMERA PANS to reveal that Paul is walking on the other side
of the road. He can see Megan but she has failed to see him.
Megan's mobile phone RINGS.
MEGAN
Hello.
MAN

MEGAN
Who's calling?
Silence.
MEGAN
Is anyone there?
MAN
Sorry, I was taken back by your
beautiful voice.
Megan giggles.
MAN

MEGAN

MEGAN

Megan stops in her tracks as his evil voice replays in her head. She
walks slowly.

The phone goes dead. Megan puts her mobile in her pocket. She is
disturbed by the phone call, she speeds up a bit. She goes to cross the
road but doesn't look to see if a car is coming. Paul sees her.
PAUL
(shouting)
Megan!
Megan turns to him, just in time to get out of the way of a passing car.
Paul runs towards her.
PAUL
Are you alright?
MEGAN
Are you following me?
PAUL
No-
MEGAN
You just scared the shit out of
me.
PAUL
You nearly got run over.
MEGAN
Whatever, Paul, just leave me
alone.
She walks away, leaving Paul by himself.
INT. HOUSE - LOUNGE
The room looks nice but old. It has a certain look about it, almost like
it doesn't belong in that town. SHEILA HILTON is sitting in an armchair,
watching television.
The doorbell CHIMES.
Sheila walks towards the door and answers it. It is Linda and Brooke,
Sheila is surprised to see them.
SHEILA
Brooke.
They hug.
BROOKE
Hi, Mrs Hilton.
SHEILA
Where have you been, darling?
BROOKE
I just went away for a while.
SHEILA
We've all missed you.
Brooke smiles.
LINDA
Mrs Hilton, we're here
because we needed to look at
Tommy's room.
SHEILA

Haven't you heard? Tommy's
things have been showing up on
the dead bodies.
Sheila is taken back by her remark, she glances at a photo of Tommy. A
tear fills her eye.
BROOKE
We shouldn't of come.
SHEILA
No, it's okay. I don't mind.
BROOKE

Do you think the deaths are to
do with...
LINDA
Yes, we think Charlie Stone is
back.
SHEILA
Well, if this is going to save
lives then go ahead. Do what you

Brooke motions for Linda to leave them alone together.

Second on the left!
Linda goes up the stairs. Sheila and Brooke sit on the sofa.
SHEILA
How are you holding up?
BROOKE
I'm fine, you know me, tough as
old boots.
SHEILA
I'm sorry to hear about your
Mother.
Brooke nods. She doesn't really want to talk about it.
SHEILA
She'll be missed.
BROOKE

interested in is making movies.
It makes me sick.

She looks at the photo of Tommy.
SHEILA
He had so much to live for. He
was liked by everyone. Why does
it have to happen to the good
people?
BROOKE
It only happens because they
get too close to me.
SHEILA
You mustn't say that.
BROOKE
It's true though, isn't it?
SHEILA
No. Everything happens for a
reason.
BROOKE
Maybe I should just give myself
up to him.
SHEILA
No, Brooke, you can't.
BROOKE
I can't imagine anyone else
objecting.
SHEILA
Paul would.
Brooke shakes her head.
SHEILA
He still loves you. He tells
me all the time.
BROOKE
Paul talks to you?
SHEILA
Yes, more than you'd think.
EXT. SIDEWALK
Megan is walking through the dark streets, Paul is begging her to talk
to him. He grabs her hand but she breaks away from him. She slaps him
around the face and turns around.
PAUL
What was that for?
MEGAN
You'd rather have Brooke than
me.
PAUL
No... I want you.
MEGAN
Yeah, maybe you want me but you
love her.
PAUL
But I-
MEGAN
Cut the crap, Paul, I'm sick of
it.
PAUL
I don't want Brooke, she's out
of my life.
MEGAN
Obviously not if you'd rather
be with her than me.
PAUL
If I wanted her, if I loved her,
do you think I would be here
with you? Megan, Brooke Carter
means nothing to me.
MEGAN
I don't care if she does or she
doesn't. I'm getting out of all
this while I can.
PAUL
What does that mean?
MEGAN
I'm getting out of your fucked
up world! I don't want to be
apart of the Charlie Stone shit
and I don't want to be with you
anymore. So you can drop fucking
dead, Paul!
She turns but almost walks into a man on his bike. The bike nearly
crashes but the car swerves out of its way. The car hits a street sign.
The sign spins into the air and slashes the cable that supports "The
Possession" advertisement. One side of the cable snaps and the
advertisement swings towards Megan. Paul dives towards Megan but the
advertisement SMASHES into her. She is hurled into the air, with the
advertisement. Paul watches in shock as she plummets back down. She
CRASHES into the ground, every single bone in her body broken and blood
pouring from her wounds.
PAUL
(shouting)
Megan!
Paul runs towards her and is horrified by the sight of her. Her body is
twisted in every way possible. Her head has almost caved in, blood
streaming from it. However, Paul still manages to cuddle her, even
though she is the most disgusting sight he has ever seen.
INT. TOMMY'S ROOM
Linda is looking around, poking through all his private things which
haven't been touched after two years. She moves closer to a cupboard and
opens it, inside it she finds a small box. She opens it, there are
hundreds of letters from Brooke to him in there, old love letters. she
closes the box and looks up in the mirror, she sees a ghostly figure in
the reflection. She screams and then quickly turns behind her...
NOTHING
She tries to catch her breath and turns to close the cupboard. She does
so but suddenly Brooke and Sheila barge in and frighten the life out of
her again.
BROOKE
What's wrong?
LINDA
I thought I saw something.
BROOKE
What?
LINDA
It was... Tommy!
Sheila looks devastated and so does Brooke.
SHEILA
My boy's here?
LINDA
I'm sure I'm mistaken-
A big gust of wind crashes through the window, causing bits of glass to
scatter across the floor. They see a piece of paper being blown into the
fan on the light and torn apart. The paper then lands beside Brooke's
feet. She picks it up and looks bewildered.
CLOSE ON PAPER
'HOLY'
They all study the paper.
BROOKE
It's a message.
LINDA
What does it mean?
BROOKE
Holy... Holy...
SHEILA
Holy spirit?
BROOKE
But why would Charlie show us
this?
Suddenly it hits Linda.
LINDA
It's not Charlie!
SHEILA
Then who?
It becomes clear to Brooke too.
BROOKE
It's your son!
EXT. SIDEWALK
Paul is hurrying through the streets, now believing everything everyone
has been saying. He now knows that Charlie Stone is back for revenge and
he isn't going to stick around to be killed. He turns the corner but
trips over a brick and falls to the ground. He tries to regain himself
but sees two people running towards him-
BROOKE AND LINDA
They help him to his feet and sigh with relief. He breaks away from them
and then sees Kim across the street.
PAUL
You're poison, Brooke!
She lowers her head. She spots Kim out of the corner of her eye and
turns to see her crossing the road. The traffic lights go red but they
switch back to green very quickly. Kim, in the middle of the road, is
unsure of what to do as cars zoom past her. She looks to Brooke.
KIM
A little help?
They all turn to see as the traffic lights switch from one colour to the
next, and then sparks fly out of them. Kim begins to run but the traffic
lights come crashing down right in front of her. She turns back but the
other lights do the same, trapping her. Just as things look bad, all the
cars stop. She sighs a little and begins to walk closer to Brooke.
Suddenly-
Two cars either side of her are forced towards her at great speeds. She
knows it is time to meet her maker as the bumpers meet and she is
totally squashed and killed. Brooke, Paul, and Linda are all disgusted
by the events and saddened by the loss of Kim. Brooke begins to cry.
PAUL
I'm getting out of here!
BROOKE
It's not Charlie!
This grabs his attention.
BROOKE
It's Tommy!
PAUL
What?
BROOKE
All the clues fit together,
it has to be him.
Paul seems uneasy about the statement he has just been told and if it
was true then Tommy would definitely be out to get Paul.
EXT. CARTER RESIDENCE - LOUNGE
Everyone is sitting in the living room, they are unsure of how to act.
Somehow they have gotten the possessions left by the spirit and they are
in the middle of them three.
BROOKE
This is where it all started.
This is where I killed my
Father, this is where I lost
my virginity to Tommy, and it's
where we have to put a stop to
it all.
Paul and Linda exchange glances.
LINDA
We've tried to banish spirits
before but it never worked,
what makes you think it will
this time?
BROOKE
I have a plan.
The phone RINGS.
BROOKE
Hello.
MAN
Brooke, darling.
BROOKE
We know it's you Tommy.
MAN
Really? Then open the door.
CLICK! The phone goes dead as Brooke moves closer to the door, she opens
it without fear and standing right there is the ghostly figure of
CHARLIE STONE. Brooke is suddenly petrified.
CHARLIE
I'm home!
Brooke screams as she tries to slam the door. She races up the stairs as
Paul and Linda see the ghost. They back away but it seems to ignore
them, it instead disappears.
INT. BEDROOM
Brooke slams the door behind her and looks through the window, the
reflection of herself. Suddenly she is thrown through it and onto the
roof by a gigantic force.
EXT. ROOF
Brooke tries to grip onto the tiles and does so. She climbs to the top
of the roof and just sits there. We then see Paul and Linda peering out
of the window, looking for her but can't seem to find her. They
disappear back inside the house. Brooke looks around and shakes her
head.
BROOKE
Why?
CHARLIE'S VOICE
You killed me.
BROOKE
You tried to kill Mum.
CHARLIE'S VOICE
You think she's so perfect?
She was having an affair with
Gerald Hanson! I told her if
she continued to see him then
I would leave her and take
you with me.
Brooke seems disturbed.
CHARLIE'S VOICE
She wouldn't accept that and
picked up a knife. She tried
to kill me! I was protecting
myself.
FLASHBACK
We see ourselves in the Carter residence, the lounge. Denise has grabbed
a knife and is trying to stab Charlie.
BACK TO NORMAL
Brooke remembers now, she knows that Charlie is telling the truth. She
edges closer to the corner of the roof.
CHARLIE'S VOICE
And you killed me!
BROOKE
I didn't know-
CHARLIE'S VOICE
It's time to join me in hell.
She stands and looks at the sky as a faint picture is formed. It is
Charlie's face. She looks down and sees Paul and Linda looking up at
her, they are screaming at her to get down but she knows it has to end.
She can't banish her Father, he wont just go away. She has to do what
she knows best.
BROOKE
You want me, Daddy?
(beat)
Tough shit! Coz I aint going
to hell!
With those final words she raises her arms and jumps off the roof. Her
last moments on Earth are spent gliding through the air. We see her
face, she is finally set free of the evilness that Charlie Stone
inflicted on her and with that, we...
FADE OUT.
