PITCH BLACK

This story is based on a legend, but the events depicted here are
fictitious.

FADE IN:

INT. WAREHOUSE – NIGHT

NOEL FAHEY, 38 talks to ANGELO, his best friend. Both are standing face
to face.

Noel Fahey, is a tall, beefy man with a look on his face that might let
some people know abous his ominous personality.

NOEL
How's it going?

ANGELO
The gasoline cans are loaded onto your truck.

NOEL
Good.

ANGELO
How's Desmond?

NOEL
He's fine.

Beat.

ANGELO
Oh, what the fuck did I say that for---

NOEL
Oh, he's still a shitty little brat.

ANGELO
Tell me about it.

NOEL
But he respects me.

ANGELO
How are the bunnies?

Noel frowns.

NOEL
You know, there's something that just makes
               me think---

ANGELO
Think about?

NOEL
He never touches the bunnies.

ANGELO
He's eight, and why the fuck would he want
               to touch the bunnies?

NOEL
I---

ANGELO
Like I said. Eight. Could he be that much of
              a trouble maker?

NOEL
I don't know.

ANGELO
And there's something else I've been meaning
              to tell you.

NOEL
What is it?

ANGELO
The rabbits.

NOEL
What?!!!

ANGELO
The bunnies.

NOEL
What about them?

ANGELO
I think you should just stop...raising them in
your farm, I mean people talk about you...you're
in the papers, they know you're rich, they know
             about your bunnies...I mean, why?

NOEL
It's something I want to do. Raising bunnies.

ANGELO
I mean people call you the bunnyman for God's sake!

NOEL
Bunnyman.

ANGELO
Yes!

NOEL
So, what's wrong with it?

ANGELO
Noel, it's a very...creepy NAME.

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

NOEL drives his truck through the dark road. Leaves, papers, plastic
wrappers fly everywhere.

The lights in front of Noel's truck spike the air.

AT THE BACK OF NOEL'S TRUCK

are huge wooden boxes with loads of cans resting inside them, the boxes
are see through. The cans, gasoline.

INT. TRUCK

Noel can see a vehicle straight ahead. The headlights blinding him. The
car speeds up, and is heading STRAIGHT to Noel. But the car, suddenly
veers and screeches. The truck does the same.

Just a couple of meters ahead is a bridge. A small one. And from where
he sits, the bridge is about 85 feet above.

Noel's truck crosses under the bridge, but CRASHES to one of its brick
walls.

EXT. UNDER THE BRIDGE – NIGHT

Noel is injured. He tries to get out of his vehicle, but he can't. His
body just sags sideways just near the truck's door. His head on the
ground.

THE GAS CANS LEAK.

BOOM!

A giant explosion rocks the place.

TIME CUT

Just a little while later, the entire area under the bridge is
scorched, some ashes starting to float.

The bridge is really BLACK this time. And the damage can easily be made
out. Even just tonight.

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

A GRAY CAR parks up at the side of the road. It's the same road where
Noel Fahey met his fiery fate.

TITLE CARD: 28 YEARS LATER

The TERROR BRIDGE is just right ahead.

INSIDE THE CAR

are ELLE AND KURT RUDNER. Elle on the front passenger's seat, Kurt on
the driver's.

Elle is an extremely pretty girl of 19. She's a college student. Kurt's
18.

Now, what are they up to?

KURT
Here we are. The Terror Bridge. Bunnyman
                Bridge.

Elle smiles.

ELLE
Oh yes.

Suddenly, Elle tenses.

KURT
Are you scared?

ELLE
Should we be doing this?

KURT
Come on, you don't actually believe the
                Bunnyman legend do you?

ELLE
I'm not sure.

KURT
Come on, that's bullshit.

ELLE
Well, we're here to prove it are we.

KURT
What?

ELLE
To prove if its just a legend...or if the
                Bunnyman is real.

KURT
Even if he was, I could manage to crouching
               tiger his ass.

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

Kurt steps out of his car. He walks toward the bridge. At the side of
the bridge is a concrete stairs that leads up to it. Kurt ascends
through the stairs, and finally reaches the top of the bridge.

Kurt raises his arms high up and starts waving. Showing off to his
sister.

ON ONE CORNER OF THE BRIDGE
just near one of the concrete barriers that keep people from falling
off---

the killer, the bunnyman killer, terror bridge killer, whoever he is
just lies down, staring at Kurt.

It's really dark. And the killer's face can't be seen. Not even his
features can be made out.

INSIDE THE CAR

ELLE'S POV,

Kurt is still waving, dancing around, trying to show off.

But the killer gets up, gripping a thin FIFTY INCH WOODEN STICK in his
hand.

The killer creeps up from behind Kurt. He chokes Kurt with the wooden
stick. Kurt drops, and can no longer be seen.

The killer, however continues to look to the vehicle. He whips out a
FLASH LIGHT, and points it toward Elle, in the car. Blinding her.

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

Elle scrambles to the passenger seat. Starts the car up.

Elle turns the car around, and speeds up the vehicle. Getting the hell
away as far as possible from this place!

It's true! The legend is true. The faceless, bunnyman serial killer
exists!

EXT. YARD – DAY

It's the front yard of SONYA WELCH'S HOUSE.

TITLE CARD: 3 MONTHS LATER

Sonya and Elle are seated on a coffee table having a little chat.
Behind them, a peaceful environment of playing kids, kites flying,
children running around.

SONYA
How do you it was Desmond Fahey?

ELLE
Well, it had to be him...come on, Noel
                 couldn't have survived the accident.

SONYA
What about the ghost rumors? The phantom
                rumors.

ELLE
Nah, they can't be true.

SONYA
So he just, used a flashlight to blind
you, and he didn't...make any finishing
                 touches to Kurt's body...

ELLE
No.

SONYA
Just one blow, huh.

ELLE
Yes. With the wooden stick.

SONYA
You want Desmond Fahey dead?

ELLE
No, that's not enough...

Sonya leans forward. Frowns.

Then leans back.

ELLE
I want to see him die. I have to see
                  Desmond Fahey lose his life.

SONYA
Question is, why'd you and Kurt ever
                  bother to do it.

ELLE
Bother to do what?

SONYA
Go to the terror bridge.

ELLE
Oh...

Elle shrugs.

ELLE
We were just curious.

SONYA
Did it ever occur to you that you would
be paying a price? To Kurt?

ELLE
No.

Elle takes a breath.

ELLE
No. None of us did.

SONYA
When did the terror bridge murders
                   start?

ELLE
Five years ago.

SONYA
So, spare me the drag, tell me where it
                 all started.

ELLE
I guess in the library.

INT. LIBRARY – DAY

Elle walks with JEAN HINGLE inside the library. They approach the
librarian. Jean's almost as pretty as Elle, though less attractive than
Sonya.

LIBRARY
Yes?

ELLE
Where are the magazines?

The librarian points to one corner of the huge room.

ELLE
Thanks.

Elle and Jean go to the magazine stand, where stacks of magazines,
booklets, rest.

Elle and Jean rummage through the pile of magazines. And finally find
one.

They take that magazine with them, sit on a table and start reading.

JEAN
Bunnyman bridge, also known as the
                   terror bridge.

ELLE
Damn, right...

Jean goes on reading.

JEAN
This is where the famous bunny collector,
Noel Fahey...he raised a lot of bunnies,
his friends called him the Bunnyman, they
thought he was a mysterious, eccentric,
man...and people also looked down on Fahey's
                wife and only son, Desmond.

ELLE
That doesn't surprise anybody.

Elle, moves the magazine closer to her and reads as well.

ELLE
Then, after he died Desmond disappeared,
he could have died also...in a completely
different situation, or he could have
                been adopted...

JEAN
But many speculate that Desmond Fahey is
alive, especially when the terror bridge
                murders started fifteen months ago,
(to Elle)
so this magazine...it was written four years
                ago!

Elle shrugs.

ELLE
Yeah.

JEAN
Elle, tell me something.

ELLE
What?

JEAN
Promise me you won't get angry.

ELLE
Well, I won't!

JEAN
No, never mind!

ELLE
Come on, Jean, spit it out!

JEAN
Do you care about Kurt that much?

ELLE
What???

JEAN
I mean, what you're about to do...
you're gonna go some place far...
that means you really care about him,
                   right?

ELLE
You just answered your question.

INT. PIZZA PARLOR – NIGHT

It must be really late, there aren't many customers.

Except for BRYAN RENFRO, ABBIE ROBINSON and JARVIS MURPHY who are
seated on a long table. They're Elle's friends and are about as old as
her.

Elle enters.

Elle walks towards their table and sits.

BRYAN
What's up.

ELLE
So have we decided yet?

BRYAN
We?

ABBIE
Yeah, we're going...and even if
it's just the four of us...I mean
four against one's better than two
                    against one, right?

Elle swallows.

ELLE
Right.

JARVIS
So, what does this guy do?

BRYAN
He just waxes people off the face of
                  the earth.

ELLE
And he does it with a fifty inch wooden
                stick!

JARVIS
What?

BRYAN
Dumbass.

ELLE
He --- strangles people with it.

JARVIS
Just a stick!

BRYAN
Elle?

ELLE
Yeah, I guess.

BRYAN
Then it shouldn't be a problem, I can
karate chop his balls! And I'm gonna
bitch slap him back to his father's farm!

ELLE
So who else is going?

BRYAN
Um...Elle, we're not sure yet.

JARVIS
I'm going, Bryan, Abbie, you, maybe Sonya!

BRYAN
Sonya?

ELLE
Yeah!

BRYAN
What's the matter, Jarvis?

JARVIS
Doesn't she always workout at the gym?

ELLE
Well she does---

BRYAN
No, no, that's just Steve.

ELLE
So, what about it?

Bryan chuckles.

BRYAN
Yeah, we're not really sure yet.

JARVIS
Come on man, we just wasted our time here!
INT. GYM – DAY

STEVE MAYHEW, very athletic works out with a pair of huge and heavy
weights.

ELLE
(V.O.)
Then, we went to the gym...you were
                   there.

TWO PUNCHING BAGS are hung near one corner of the gym. And are about
three meters apart.

Each of the bags are being tortured, punched, kicked by Sonya and JACK
BALSAM.

Elle and Bryan come in from the huge doorway.

ALL THREE OF THEM STOP DOING THEIR EXERCISES.

BRYAN
What's up, muthafuckas!!!

JACK
Yeah, what's up.

ELLE
Are you going, Jack?

JACK
Yeah.

ELLE
Sonya?

SONYA
Nah, why bother...

BRYAN
Sonya, it could be worth the experience.

SONYA
But, it's not like I believe in that
                  Bunnyman killer crap.

BRYAN
Yo, Steve?

Steve pulls one of the weights up and down with his HARD and muscular
arm. He's basically telling Bryan---

BRYAN
Oh, I get it!!!

STEVE
Yeah.

Steve drops both weights to the floor and they fall with a loud and
somewhat irritating THUD!

BRYAN
That's right, nigga!!! Shizzo my
                    nizzo!

Steve forces a smile. Then sits on the bench he has been using. Goes on
working out.

JACK
I am gonna kick that motherfucker's
ass! And I am gonna bitch slap him
                  to kingdom come.

BRYAN
Desmond Fahey is not an ordinary dude,
its not that I'm afraid of him...but I
don't underestimate him, I---no one can.

Bryan turns to Elle, raises a brow.

ELLE
That's right.

JACK
What was his name again?

ELLE
Desmond Fahey.

STEVE
(softly and gasping for breath)
I know.

Steve drops the weights again. Rests. Flexes his arms. Gets up, jumps,
limbers up.

ELLE
Sonya, you're not going?

SONYA
No!

BRYAN
Come on, babe.

SONYA
No!!!

BRYAN
Well, it's not like we're gonna
care if you don't go with us.

SONYA
So, stop bugging me about it.

ELLE
Jack check. Sonya-X, Steve---

STEVE
X.

BRYAN
Bye!

Bryan and Elle turn around, head for the doorway.

BRYAN
I think we are a good to go.

ELLE
Yes.

EXT. ELLE'S HOUSE – NIGHT

Bryan's EXPLORER is parked at the curb just in front of Elle's yard.

INT. ELLE'S HOUSE, LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Everyone's ready. Elle, Bryan, Jack, JARVIS, MARY, ABBIE AND VALLOR.
Abbie and Mary are both attractive. Mary the better of the two.
Possibly even more pretty than Elle.

Elle is packing some clothes into a satchel. What is she gonna use them
for?

Bryan turns to her.

BRYAN
Yo, what's up with that?

ELLE
I don't know...

BRYAN
You don't know?

ELLE
Just in case.

BRYAN
In case, what?

ELLE
We can never be---

BRYAN
Elle, get those clothes of your backpack,
and put in some of the more useful things.

Beat.

Elle dumps all the clothes out of her back and sets them onto the couch
she's sitting on.

Jarvis pulls out a pair of BINOCS

JARVIS
Yo, we might wanna use this!

ELLE
Telescope?

JARVIS
These binocs could help us get a better
look at the killer, 'ya know.

BRYAN
It's better than packing a shitload of
                 T-shirts and extra clothes.

Elle sighs.

BRYAN
Elle---

ELLE
(Jarvis)
Yeah.

Elle gets up from the couch. Walks to Jarvis and grabs hold of the
binocs.

Elle walks back up to the couch and puts the binocs into her bag.

VALLOR
Um...don't you think we should be
                   some food?

JARVIS
(whispers)
Shut the fuck up!

VALLOR
I mean, we might go hungry and all.

BRYAN
No, we are not gonna be in that fucked
up place for the whole night. So we're
not gonna be needing some food.
(Elle)
                 Or some clothes.

JACK
What about some cameras?

BRYAN
WHAT IS THIS? REALITY TV? NO, NO, NO!
We're only gonna have to be bringing
ourselves! And this Desmond Fahey guy
shouldn't be too hard to mess with. For
all we know, he's a loon. And guys like
                 that can't and won't think. They pro'lly
can't give a shit about logical reasoning.
That should work to our advantage.

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

The Explorer parks up at the curb.

INT. EXPLORER

Elle, Jarvis, Mary, Abbie, and Vallor are on the backseat. Bryan and
Jack in front. Bryan in the driver's seat.

MARY
Here we are, terror bridge drive.

JARVIS
How long is this road?

BRYAN
How long have you lived here?

JARVIS
What???

BRYAN
About an eighth of a kilometer.

ELLE
So, what are we gonna do?

Jack still has his seatbelts on. He forces his head to turn sideways,
to talk to Elle.

JACK
You tell us, Elle.

ELLE
Let's find him!

VALLOR
Him?

ELLE
Desmond Fahey.

VALLOR
Why does he do this?

ELLE
Why does he kill people?
VALLOR
At night, when we attempt to get close
                 to the bridge.

ELLE
From what I've read...he kills people
because he's mad. People made fun of
him when he was a kid. They called him
the Bunnyman boy. His classmates and
neighbors thought he was a very creepy
kid, as the son of Noel Fahey...when his
father died---I guess he was just disturbed.

VALLOR
What the fuck!!!!!

ELLE
Well, I've also read that he started
                  people when...

Beat.

ELLE
A group visited the bridge. They started
shouting out his name, "Desmond!" They
made fun of him. Then he just materialized
from the darkness and slayed all of them.

BRYAN
With the wooden stick.

ELLE
Yes, he strangled them.

VALLOR
So he just kills whoever provokes him,
whoever stops by that bridge over there
(points to the terror bridge)
because he's upset about people making fun
of him, and calling him what they used to
call his father, Noel, when he was still
                 alive?!!!

ELLE
Yes.

BRYAN
And Noel Fahey died in the bridge, when
                 his truck crashed.

JACK
So, let's get started.

ELLE
Jack?

JACK
We'll get him to show himself.

Jack gets off the car---

BRYAN
Hey!

JACK
Come on, you think I'd turn yela just
because I'm about to piss of a motherfucker
who chokes people---that's all he does, he
doesn't have a knife, a gun! And Elle told
me that the only other thing he has with him
                 is a flashlight!

Jack slams the door shut.

Jack walks towards bridge. He takes a look at the small tunnel. The
tunnel where Noel Fahey crashed. Walks towards it.

Only the headlights of the Explorer illuminate the spot he stands on.

JACK
HELLO!!!

Jack's voice echoes.

JACK
HEY FUCKHEAD, COME OUT!!! BUNNYMAN!
                   DESMOND!!!

Jack walks away from the tunnel, and goes to the concrete stairs that
leads to the top of the bridge. He climbs quickly and reaches the top.
No one!

JACK'S POV

He can see the windshield and the backseat of the car. He can see Elle
flashing her flashlight, trying to help him see. Jack waves.

Jack turns around. Still, no one.

A THICK ROPE DANGLES FROM A TALL TREE'S BRANCH. That's strange. But
there's no noose tied around the tip.

Jack turns back and just stares at the Explorer. Well, he needs to go
back to them now. No sign of the killer.

THEN, THE KILLER EMERGES FROM THE LEAVES OF THE TREE, GRIPS THE ROPE
AND DESCENDS SLOWLY, SECRETLY.

JACK'S POV

Bryan snatches the flashlight from Elle's hand and starts waving the
light left and right, a gesture of panic.

Jack turns around. The killer's already standing in front of him. The
killer whips out his stick, does a backhand on Jack's forehead. The
killer's face can't be seen. It's really dark. It's almost as if he has
the magic of not letting anyone see his face. The killer grabs Jack's
shirt by the chest. The killer strangles Jack.

The killer turns and walks toward the stairs. Jack's corpse behind him.
Then he just disappears into the darkness.

INT. EXPLORER

Everyone panics.

VALLOR
Wow!

JARVIS
Did he kill him?

BRYAN
Of course he did!

Beat.

BRYAN
Hold on a second, where did he go?

VALLOR
Looks like he climbed down from the
bridge. He's coming to get us!

BRYAN
That's---

ELLE
Byran, we better do something quickly!

JARVIS
Holy shit man, Jack is dead...holy shit.

ELLE
Bryan!

BRYAN
Yeah, we'll wait for him to come.

VALLOR
What the fuck?

MARY
I say we should just get the hell out
                 of here, before---

BRYAN
Look. It's not my decision, it's Elle's!

Elle just stares at nothing, her jaw drops. She can't think of anything
right now.

ELLE
I don't know.

BRYAN
Just follow my lead.

ABBIE
It's too risky to be here.

BRYAN
Look, you don't have to be afraid,
I can take care of that bastard!

MARY
Oh, Jesus, that's what all you guys
say, and then we end up dead. Like
                  Jack!

BRYAN
Look, I'm not a fucking idiot.

ELLE
What?

MARY
(sobs)
A fucking idiot like Jack?

VALLOR
Bryan, dude, it ain't worth it.

BRYAN
No, it is. It is.

Bryan turns to Elle, as he does, he dislodges his seatbelt.

BRYAN
It's worth it for Elle. For Kurt, this
is what you want to do Elle, right?

ELLE
I---

BRYAN
It's all worth it.

ELLE
No, Bryan.

BRYAN
What?

ELLE
We should leave now!!!!

BRYAN
Elle. You don't trust---

ELLE
NOW!

Bryan steps on the pedals. He backs the Explorer up. Slowly. He can
barely see, even with the lights at the front of his car. It's really
dark.

Now the Explorer is fully turned around. Bryan steps on it--- BUT
SOMETHING HAPPENS! THE TIRES SCREECH AS HE ACCELERATES. THEN BEFORE HE
DISCOVERS IT, A TREE IS IN FRONT OF HIM! JUST A COUPLE OF INCHES FROM
THE WINDSHIELD! THE EXPLORER CRASHES TO THE TREE. SMOKE STARTS TO RISE
FROM THE HOOD.

BRYAN
Fuck!!!

MARY
Oh, great, Bryan, now you've done it!

BRYAN
Shut up!

VALLOR
Bryan???

ELLE
Look, we'll just try to calm---

JARVIS
We're in for some serious shit, now!

BRYAN
Fuck.

All of them step out of the now wrecked up Explorer. Elle, Bryan,
Abbie, Mary, Jarvis, Vallor.

MARY
Oh, what are we gonna do now!!!

BRYAN
Mary, keep your fucking voice low.

MARY
Hey, fuck you Bryan!!!

BRYAN
Do you want to get Desmond's attention?!!!

MARY
No.

All of them see an ABANDONED HOUSE. IT'S A TWO STORY HOME, EVERYTHING
THAT MAKES UP THE HOUSE IS BASICALLY DILAPIDATED.

All walk towards it.

EXT. ABANDONED HOUSE – NIGHT

They come closer to the doorstep. Then finally reach it. There's a knob
on one of the doors. Bryan twists it, tries to open it. No luck.

Bryan does a flying frontal kick and assaults the doors. They don't
open.

Behind them, the killer, still faceless from everyone's point of view
approaches.

The killer approaches slowly, calmly.

His infamous strangulation stick tucked in his pants.

MARY
Bryan, please!

ABBIE
Bryan!

BRYAN
I'm working on it.

Bryan starts to elbow the doors. Then it hurts him.

BRYAN
Ahhh fuck!

ELLE
Bryan.

BRYAN
I KNOW!

The killer continues his approach without a rush. As always, it's very
dark, his face can't be seen. He walks at a moderate pace. He's now
just a few meters from them.

Bryan kicks at the door again.

VALLOR
Let me try!

Vallor throws a kick too. No luck.

BRYAN
Hey, all of you! Bunch up and ram the
door with your elbows! All of us.
They do. The door trembles. But it still doesn't fling open!

Bryan does a side kick. The door finally opens. The killer draws
closer.

The all get in.

INT. ABANDONED HOUSE – NIGHT

They shut the doors. Luckily there's a LONG PIECE OF WOOD lying around
a corner. Just near the door.

They jam the door with it.

If outside was dark, it's nothing compared to the house! It's basically
pitch black!

Elle pulls out her flashlight. Switches it on. Flashes it all around,
to get some quick glances at the inside of this old house.

Mary peers through the glass window that's partly covered with wood.

MARY
He's not outside!

BRYAN
That's good.

Vallor hits a light switch. A SMALL FLOURESCENT LIGHT TURNS ON, but it
blinks. It's half-broken. Well, it's not dark anymore. At least not so.

VALLOR
What are we gonna do now?

BRYAN
We'll wait for him to come in.

MARY
Are you nuts???

BRYAN
Jack was.

ELLE
Why'd he just...vanish?

BRYAN
I don't know.

JARVIS
I just hope he can't get in here.

BRYAN
No. He can. And he will.

ELLE
Are you sure you know what you're doing,
                Bryan?

BRYAN
Don't worry.

ABBIE
I wasn't able to make anything out, was
                 he wearing a mask?

ELLE
No.

ABBIE
What?

ELLE
He's just...it's just that we can't see
                his face.

BRYAN
Yeah, and he has mastered some techniques
               of embracing darkness...shit like that.

MARY
Can you talk any louder?

BRYAN
YES!

JARVIS
This is just whack.

This time, it's Elle who peers through the window. She can't see
anybody. Her vision PANS left, then to the right. No one.

Elle backs away from the window.

ELLE
No sign of him.

BRYAN
Then we're just gonna wait.

VALLOR
What the fuck, Bryan?

BRYAN
We're gonna wait okay. Then we'll
be heroes. Trust me. We can get this
guy! All six of us. Six against one.
                   Come on!

ABBIE
I just hope you're right, Bryan.

BRYAN
Hey, hey, hey! Tell that to Elle.

Bryan turns to Elle. Elle just shrugs.

JARVIS
The kitchen.

Jarvis points to the KITCHEN, or the dining room. Whatever.

The six of them move towards the kitchen. It's barely illuminated by
the broken flourescent, but they can see. That's what matters.

Jarvis, Bryan, Elle, and Mary lean against the wall. There are three
CHAIRS that rest in front of a round table. Vallor and Abbie sit on
them.

JARVIS
What the fuck do we do now?

Beat.

JARVIS
Look, I don't wanna end up like Jack.

BRYAN
You won't, if you just watch your back.

Elle doesn't realize it until now. Her flashlight's still on. Can't
afford to waste the batteries. She puts it off. Elle's pocket becomes
bulky as she puts it in there.

ELLE
Do you think he has a gun?

BRYAN
Maybe.

Bryan shrugs.

BRYAN
Maybe a shotgun---or a---

Beat. Bryan scratches his head absently.

BRYAN
No. He doesn't have a gun! Just the
                  stick.

JARVIS
(sarcastic)
Oh thanks, Bryan that just makes me feel
                better!!!

BRYAN
Shut up.

ELLE
What's taking him so long?

JARVIS
Taking him so long to slay us all!

BRYAN
Jarvis, Mary's already gotten over
                   it.

MARY
(whispers)
Not so.

JARVIS
Look, I don't give a shit about this---
I'm leaving the five of you!

Jarvis gets up from his chair and---

BRYAN
You really have the guts to turn your
back from us. Walk. Alone in the darkness.
Then Desmond Fahey, the Bunnyman creeps
from behind you, and kills you. It's
gonna hurt. For about five or three seconds.
And that pain ain't worth it Bryan.

JARVIS
But I'm still gonna end up that way
if I stay with you guys!

Bryan shrugs. Beat.

BRYAN
Either way you lose.

JARVIS
Elle---

ELLE
What?

JARVIS
Why?

ELLE
Why what?

JARVIS
Why do this?

ELLE
I told you, none...right now, I'm
not the one who makes the decisions.

BRYAN
Sure you are. You just don't want to
to take the blame for anything. And
                  you don't deserve to...

Beat. Bryan frowns.

BRYAN
What do you think Elle?

ELLE
You?

BRYAN
We stay here. Clean this dusty floor with
                Desmond Fahey's ass.

ELLE
Oh well.

Elle shrugs. Takes a breath. But she doesn't panic or anything.

JARVIS
See? You're all in on this together!

MARY
(whispers)
Not me.

VALLOR
Jarvis, I think we should just trust
                  Bryan.

Jarvis calms down. Takes some deep breaths.

Bryan turns to Elle and starts speaking softly.

BRYAN
Elle, I got an idea.

ELLE
What?

BRYAN
What if I go out there.

ELLE
There?

BRYAN
Go out of the house.

ELLE
I don't understand.

Mary ceases her leaning on the wall and---

MARY
What are you---

ELLE
No, no, not now, Mary. We're thinking
                 of something.

MARY
Can you---

BRYAN
Elle, what do you think?

ELLE
I still didn't get you.

BRYAN
I mean, I'll get out of the house and
I'll try to get his attention.

ELLE
You really think that's---

BRYAN
It is.

ELLE
And what if he's in here, you can't
                  leave us!

BRYAN
Come on, you got Vallor.

ELLE
No---

BRYAN
All right, all right. He's not inside
this house. I know that. He's outside,
waiting, calmly trying to think of a
                 plan that...

Beat. Bryan frowns.

BRYAN
He's gonna use to kill us.

ELLE
Bryan!

BRYAN
Trust me!

Bryan walks out of the kitchen.

JARVIS
Now, where are you going?
BRYAN
Upstairs.

The STAIRS is just a few meters left of where Bryan is standing, it's
made of wood and it's decrepit too.

All five follow Bryan.

JARVIS
What the fuck are you gonna do?

They all climb, and reach

THE SECOND STORY of this abandoned house. Except that it's not so
abandoned now.

They see a hallway and three rooms. One of them is large. They head
towards it.

They walk through a HALLWAY that leads into the large

ROOM

There's another FLOURESCENT above them. Right on the ceiling. Elle hits
the switch and turns it on.

There's a window in front of them. Not covered with glass like it used
to be. Not covered with wood.

Bryan walks to the window. It's big enough for anyone to fit in and
climb in or out of it.

Bryan sees a METAL DRAINAGE PIPE that's stationed on that starts from
up where the GUTTER is and leads down, to the ground.

BRYAN
All right, this is what I'm looking for.

ABBIE
You're gonna jump?

BRYAN
No, I'm gonna use the drainage pipe to climb
              down.

ABBIE
Be careful.

Bryan climbs out of the window and clings to the drainage pipe using
his super-strong arms. He just wonders if Steve or maybe Sonya could do
this.

Bryan slides DOWNWARD and finally drops and lands on the ground with
his two feet. Uninjured.

BRYAN
See!!!
EXT. ABANDONED HOUSE – NIGHT

He walks away from the abandoned house.

Bryan starts walking towards the bridge. He strides as he heads for it.
He climbs the concrete stairs of the bridge and reaches the

TOP, the bridge.

BRYAN
Hey!!!!!

Beat.

BRYAN
ANYONE!

Beat.

BRYAN
MR. BUNNYMAN!!!

Beat.

BRYAN
YOU BETTER SHOW YOURSELF, CAUSE
I AM GONNA KICK YOUR MOTHERFUCKING
ASS AND SEND YOU STRAIGHT TO HELL!

INT. ABANDONED HOUSE – NIGHT

The five still stand by the window. Bryan climbs in. Wards some dirt
off his lap. His jeans.

VALLOR
How did it go?

BRYAN
No one.

ABBIE
So, you think that he just left?

BRYAN
No. We won't give up.

ABBIE
Are you sure---

JARVIS
Did you hear footsteps coming from behind you?

BRYAN
You think I'm a fucking idiot?

Beat.

BRYAN
I think you do think that.

ELLE
Let's go downstairs.

INT. THE KITCHEN – NIGHT

They're all back to the kitchen. This time it's Elle and Bryan on the
two chairs. The rest stand, while Vallor and Abbie sit on the floor.

ELLE
So, what should be done?

BRYAN
Just the waiting that's all.

ELLE
You think he heard you out there?

BRYAN
What?

ELLE
Your voice was pretty fucking loud.

BRYAN
Yeah.

ELLE
I just wonder what's taking him so long
                 to show himselft.

BRYAN
He will.

Beat.

BRYAN
And when he does, he's gonna surprise us,
               catch us offguard.

ELLE
What?

BRYAN
When we won't see him coming.

Beat.

BRYAN
He could even fall from the rundown ceiling
               above us.

Beat.

BRYAN
But we don't know.

Bryan takes a breath.

BRYAN
Where he is.

ELLE
Bu that's what he wants, right.

BRYAN
Yeah.

ELLE
You think we'll be able to spot him?

BRYAN
What do you---

ELLE
Notice him, before he notices us.

BRYAN
What?

ELLE
Is that possible.

BRYAN
I don't know.

Beat.

BRYAN
But we'll---

Bryan nods his head slowly, three times.

BRYAN
We'll just be careful.

ELLE
Right.

Vallor gets up.

VALLOR
Hey, Jarvis.

JARVIS
Yeah, dude, what's up?

VALLOR
Let's go back up, check things out,
son of a bitch could be hiding up
                  keeping quiet. We never know.
JARVIS
No way man.

VALLOR
What? Come on, man.

JARVIS
Okay, dude.

INT. ROOM – NIGHT

It's the same large room. The room where Bryan got out the window and
used the drainage pipe.

Vallor and Jarvis just stand, meters away from the window.

VALLOR
What are we gonna do?

JARVIS
I don't know, you tell me.

VALLOR
All right, we'll just wait here, until
                 we can find a---

Vallor scratches his head, restless.

VALLOR
Until we pick up some clues as to where
he is and how he plays this game.

JARVIS
Game?

VALLOR
Is it obvious?

JARVIS
What the fuck are you talking about?

VALLOR
You listen to me.

Vallor steps closer to Jarvis.

VALLOR
He ain't showing himself, but Jack isn't
the last person he's gonna kill tonight.
At least Jack's not the last he wants to
                become victim.

JARVIS
What?

VALLOR
He wants to take us all. And he's doing...
               he's hatching his plans slowly.

Vallor and Jarvis move towards the window.

And there, in the darkness, in the shadows of the night, the killer
takes a stride. Towards the abandoned house! Desmond gets closer, and
closer...

and closer.

Vallor and Jarvis see his arms embrace the drain pipe. Desmond clings
to the drain pipe and begins to climb.

Vallor and Jarvis back away from the window, and see a wooden CHAIR.

VALLOR
(whispering)
See, I fucking told you!

JARVIS
(whispering)
Did you get a look at his face?

VALLOR
(whispering)
No.

JARVIS
(whispering)
Well, I wonder how that motherfucker
                  does it.

VALLOR
(whispering)
Does what?

JARVIS
(whispering)
Move without anyone seeing his face,
                  embracing the shadows.

VALLOR
(whispering)
He's been practicing.

Vallor grabs hold of the chair, moves towards the window. Jarvis does
the same, standing beside Vallor.

The killer is JUST A FEW METERS AWAY FROM REACHING THE TOP!

The killer finally does, his legs on the ledge of the window. Vallor
hurls the chair to the killer as they both back away.

They see the chair and the killer disappear out of the window.

Vallor and Jarvis just stand, side by side, staring at darkness. They
stay like that for a long moment.

Then they start to close in on the window again.

Now, they can't see him! Just the chair lying on the ground.

JARVIS
Now, how did he manage to---

VALLOR
I don't know. He's got...

Beat.

VALLOR
Quick reflexes.

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

Both Vallor's and Jarvis's FOOTSTEPS ARE HEARD COMING DOWN THE STAIRS.
They come to the kitchen.

All four rise.

BRYAN
What was that?

ABBIE
Yeah, what happened?

MARY
Did you find the---

VALLOR
Yeah!

BRYAN
What happened?

VALLOR
He just climbed using the pipes, like
you did, Bryan, and we assaulted him
with a chair, and he just fell...we checked
out the window, and he was just gone.

MARY
That quickly?

VALLOR
Yeah.

ELLE
Were you able to get a look at his face?

VALLOR
What do you think?

ELLE
Well?

VALLOR
No. We didn't see his face.

JARVIS
Maybe we won't. Ever.

ELLE
Oh, shit.

Elle sighs.

IN ONE CORNER OF THE KITCHEN, ELLE SEES A TELEPHONE, COMPLETE WITH
WIRES STILL HOOKED UP RESTING BESIDE A RUSTY THERMOS.

ELLE
Hey, check that out!

ABBIE
What?

ELLE
Telephone.

Elle walks towards it.

So does Abbie.

Elle picks up the receiver. Dials up a number. Nothing.

ELLE
Nah.

ABBIE
What were you supposed to use it for,
                 anyway?

ELLE
I don't know.

Beat.

ELLE
Call Sonya.

Elle chuckles.

ELLE
Or Steve.

ABBIE
Jarvis!

JARVIS
Yeah.

ABBIE
What did he carry with him?

JARVIS
The---Desmond?

ABBIE
Yeah.

JARVIS
Nothing.

VALLOR
He was carrying nothing. He...

JARVIS
Except the stick.

ABBIE
What?

JARVIS
The stick...it was still tucked in his
pants. He was ready to use it on us,
                 lucky we found that chair.

ABBIE
Oh shit...

ELLE
What?

ABBIE
He's probably upstairs now!

BRYAN
We don't know that.

ABBIE
Or, if this house has basement, he's
probably already in there, and he'll
                  sneak up on us---

BRYAN
Look, calm down!

ABBIE
No, no---

BRYAN
Abbie!

ABBIE
Sorry.
BRYAN
Chill.

ABBIE
Look, I don't think this is worth it!

ELLE
What?

ABBIE
Doing this, waiting to trap him...it's just
               suicide.

BRYAN
We're not dealing with a ghost here, Abbie.

ABBIE
So---

ELLE
No.

ABBIE
No, I don't want this.

JARVIS
(whispering)
I'm with you.

VALLOR
So, what's it gonna be?

ABBIE
We're gonna quit this thing.

ELLE
No. No.

ABBIE
We're going out.

Beat.

ABBIE
I want us to leave.

BRYAN
This is not your decision, Abbie.

ABBIE
Who's is it then?

BRYAN
Like I always say, Elle's.

ABBIE
Then---

BRYAN
It's your fault for wanting to be a part
                of this.

Bryan turns to Jarvis.

BRYAN
Yours too.

ELLE
Look, Bryan, maybe we should.

BRYAN
Should what?

ELLE
Leave. Give up.

BRYAN
What???

ELLE
I don't think this is worth it.

BRYAN
Why?

ELLE
I just...

BRYAN
He killed your brother. Kurt.

ELLE
And---

BRYAN
And you're gonna let him get away with
                 it?

Bryan shakes his head.

ELLE
What if we just tell the police. Leave it
                to the cops.

BRYAN
What?

ELLE
I mean, they've never attempted to provoke
the killer. They've never attempted to come
to Terror Bridge and catch Desmond Fahey...

BRYAN
Cops are stupid.
Elle raises a brow.

BRYAN
And another thing---

Bryan frowns.

BRYAN
That son of a bitch is probably afraid
                 of the city's finest.

ELLE
What do you mean?

BRYAN
Even if the cops tried to do what
we just did, what we're doing now,
I'd bet heavily that Desmond Fahey,
                   the Bunnyman won't show himself.

ABBIE
But we should just go!!!!

ELLE
YES.

BRYAN
All right, babe. Whatever you say.

Bryan gets everyone's attention.

BRYAN
Let's get out of here.

ABBIE
I'm glad.

The six head for the door. It's still jammed with the long piece of
wood. Bryan takes it out.

BRYAN
All right.

Jarvis opens the doors.

then---

THE KILLER IS WALKING TOWARDS THE DOOR! TOWARDS THEM! THE FLASHLIGHT IN
THE KILLER'S HAND BLINDS ALL OF THEM, AND KEEPS THEM FROM SEEING HIS
FACE.

Then Jarvis slams the doors shut. He takes the long piece of wood, and
uses it again to jam the door up.

JARVIS
Holy shit!

Then AN IRRITATING POUNDING NOISE COMING FROM THE DOOR ASSAULTS THEIR
EARS. IT'S COMING FROM JUST OUTSIDE THE DOOR. IT'S THE KILLER. HE'S
GONNA BREAK THE DOOR DOWN!

The pounding stops.

They see the killer's silhoutte pass by the window that's partly
covered with wood.

He gave up on the door.

BRYAN
What kept him?

ABBIE
All right, we're---

ELLE
Bryan, I change my mind.

ABBIE
What?

ELLE
Bryan, we should stay here.

BRYAN
You mean---

ELLE
No, I don't want that motherfucker to
live tomorrow. Before the sun comes up,
I want him already in a body bag.

BRYAN
That's what I'm talking about.

Bryan takes a breath.

BRYAN
All right, we're staying!

JARVIS
What the fuck is it with you people!!!

BRYAN
Hey, keep it down.

VALLOR
What's step two?

BRYAN
What?

VALLOR
We're staying, then we've got to do
something. Than just sit around in the
                  kitchen.

BRYAN
What?

VALLOR
We've got to get him to come inside,
convince him to attack us, then we
                  nail the motherfucker.

BRYAN
I can do that.

ELLE
But?

BRYAN
It's not gonna be easy.

ELLE
Of course not.

Bryan leads them back to the kitchen. They follow.

Bryan SEES AN AXE RESTING ON THE FLOOR. Why didn't he notice that
before?

Bryan walks to it. Picks it up.

BRYAN
This.

JARVIS
What?

BRYAN
We can chop his head off easily.

ELLE
That's a relief.

BRYAN
Yeah.

MARY
But how---

BRYAN
We're gonna call to him. We're gonna
shout his name. Piss him off.

MARY
Yeah, but someone better be with me
                  if we're gonna split up.

BRYAN
You guys stay here!

Bryan walks to the stairs and ascends carefully.

JARVIS
Hey! Where are you going???

ELLE
He's gonna---

MARY
Oh, I just hope he gets here on time
                  when Desmond already throttling one
                  of us.

ELLE
He will.

INT. DARK ROOM – NIGHT

Bryan's upstairs, the room is dark. But not entirely. There's a post
outside the street, that's LIGHTED UP. That light illuminates the room
too.

Bryan studies the room.

Scans it for signs of anybody playing hide and seek. No one.

Bryan twirls the axe on his hand.

BRYAN
Hey, Desmond Fahey!

Beat.

BRYAN
I WANT YOU TO SHOW YOURSELF!!!

Beat.

Bryan turns around, looks to the doorway. No one. No signs of movement
of anything.

BRYAN
HEY DESMOND, I'M TALKING TO YOU!

Bryan swings the axe, and chops part of a closet's wall.

BRYAN
MOTHERFUCKER, YOU SHOW UP NOW!!!!!!!

BRYAN
COME ON!

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

Everyone's still here. Vallor and Jarvis talk.

VALLOR
Come on, man, let's go upstairs.

JARVIS
What for?

VALLOR
We'll talk. Or we'll wait for the
                    killer to show up.

INT. DARK ROOM – NIGHT

It's another dark room. Jarvis and Vallor sit on wooden boxes.

VALLOR
I'm gonna ask you, what do you think
                  this guy wants?

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

The killer, walks towards the tree where Bryan's explorer has crashed.
Looks like he's up to something.

JARVIS
(V.O.)
I don't know...blood.

VALLOR
(V.O.)
Exactly.

JARVIS
(V.O.)
So?

VALLOR
(V.O.)
Why does he want to kill.

The killer comes closer, and closer to the vehicle. But he just walks
slowly. Calmly.

JARVIS
(V.O.)
He enjoys it.

VALLOR
(V.O.)
May---

Beat.

VALLOR
(V.O.)
Maybe it feels liberating to him.

The killer comes closer, and closer to the vehicle. But still having a
very SLOW approach.

INT. EXPLORER

The killer gets inside Bryan's vehicle. Begins to tinker with what's
inside. Studies the vehicle.

JARVIS
(V.O.)
Maybe he's practicing.

VALLOR
(V.O.)
Yeah, right, practicing for what?

JARVIS
(V.O.)
Maybe...he just wants to be a legend.

VALLOR
(V.O.)
That's possible.

JARVIS
(V.O.)
Someday, people could make a T.V. show
about him, about Bunnyman bridge. Where
the Bunnyman would take whoever crosses
it in the middle of the night.

VALLOR
(V.O.)
Either way, none of the shit that this
guy runs makes sense to me.

The killer gets off the vehicle. Opens the hood.

He walks to the GARAGE of the old house.

INT. GARAGE – NIGHT

There's no garage door. He easily enters, and looks for something. A
CAN OF GASOLINE RESTS ON A CORNER.

He picks it up.

Walks back to the Explorer.

EXT. EXPLORER – NIGHT

He pours the gasoline into the hood. Now, how the fuck did he know that
the can ACTUALLY contained gas?

The killer digs into his pocket for something.

A STRIKE-ANYWHERE MATCH. He fires up the match, tosses it to the now
gassed up hood.

THE EXPLORER'S ENGINES GO UP IN FLAMES.

INT. DARK ROOM – NIGHT

The dark room where Bryan is in. He still carries the axe, and through
the window, he sees his vehicle on fire! But the killer isn't standing
somewhere beside it. Desmond is back into his hiding routine again.

BRYAN
Awww, motherfucker!!!!

Bryan walks back and forth for a moment. Restless.

BRYAN
I'LL KILL THAT MOTHERFUCKER!

BOOM! A loud explosion is heard from not far outside. His Explorer. Now
it's barbecued.

Jarvis and Bryan enter the room.

JARVIS
Bryan, you see that?

BRYAN
Of course I did.

JARVIS
What's he trying to do?

BRYAN
He doesn't want us to get away.
He wants us to stay here.

JARVIS
How much did that Explorer cost?

VALLOR
Bryan, did you see him...OUTSIDE.

BRYAN
While he was on his way to cook my
van! No! I didn't see him. I only
looked out the window when I saw...
                   some flames rising.

Vallor's face tenses.

VALLOR
We're sitting ducks, Bryan.

BRYAN
I know that.

VALLOR
We haven't done anything.

JARVIS
He's right, we---

BRYAN
Sitting ducks. That's what we want
to do. We'll wait for him to get to
us. That was always the plan. We want
to BE his prey. We want to trap the
bastard, and when we do--- we nail him!

JARVIS
Y---

BRYAN
We are his prey.

Beat.

BRYAN
But not for long.

VALLOR
How are we supposed to leave?

BRYAN
When this is all over?

VALLOR
If we win.

BRYAN
We're just gonna walk...

Bryan's face turns angry red. Bryan raises his arms, points a finger.

BRYAN
NO THANKS TO THAT MOTHERFUCKER OF
                    COURSE!

JARVIS
I'm not starting to like this anymore,
                 man!

BRYAN
How are they?

VALLOR
They're downstairs...still in the kitchen.

JARVIS
Bryan, we better leave!

BRYAN
How many times do I have to take your
                 bullshit, Jarvis? We're not leaving!!!

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

Bryan rumbles down the stairs, this time not giving a shit about how
much noise he's making. Vallor and Jarvis are still upstairs.

ELLE
We saw, Bryan.

BRYAN
Yeah...

Beat.

BRYAN
Well, try not to walk to that doorway,
or that window, all by yourselves next
                 time.

MARY
How did he set it on fire?

BRYAN
Son of a bitch must have been using
                  gasoline to torch it up.

ABBIE
And are we gonna just sit here and---

BRYAN
NO!

Bryan turns to Elle.

BRYAN
Elle, I'm going outside. I'm gonna find
                him.

ELLE
No, Bryan, don't leave us.

BRYAN
Well, all of you can come.

ELLE
No, not yet.

BRYAN
What's the matter?

ELLE
I'm just...nervous.

BRYAN
Well, we better get ourselves moving!

ABBIE
Yeah, I mean, he's moving too.

MARY
He?

ABBIE
Desmond.

MARY
Oh.

BRYAN
I just wonder what's taking that son of
                a bitch so long.

ELLE
What?

BRYAN
He ought to be choking one of us, right
                 now.

Beat.

BRYAN
Unless the guy's a wimp.

ELLE
No, Bryan. We'll be more patient. We'll
                 wait for awhile.

BRYAN
Or, he's taking his time, because he's
gonna find a moment when one of us is
off guard. That's the time, he'll strike.

Beat.

BRYAN
You know, I thought that son of a bitch
only does his murders near the bridge...
                 Bunnyman bridge killer, huh!

Beat.

BRYAN
I thought he only shows up on the bridge.
But he walks farther. He sets vehicles
               on fire.

Beat.

BRYAN
Whoever made him a legend through the
                   newspapers...was responsible. For
                   making him addicted...to doing this.

EXT. DARK ROOM – NIGHT

Outside the dark room. Outside the window. The window is covered with a
white piece of cloth.

VALLOR
(O.S.)
Well, if you're staying here and
                    being sentimental...I'll leave you
and join with the rest of the gang
                    in the kitchen, okay?

JARVIS
(O.S.)
Yeah, bro.

Their voices were coming from inside THAT room.

Vallor's FOOTSTEPS LEAVING THE ROOM ARE HEARD. Now even from outside
the window covered with cloth, even if there are no lights, it's easy
to tell that Jarvis is alone. Beat.

A long moment goes by.

Then suddenly, YELLOW LIGHT FROM A BULB ILLUMINATES THE ROOM! JARVIS'S
SILHOUETTE, AND THAT OF ANOTHER MAN ARE SEEN! THE OTHER GUY WHIPS OUT
A...YEAH, THE STICK! IT'S THE KILLER.

JARVIS
(O.S.)
You!

WITHOUT A BEAT, THE KILLER CHOKES JARVIS WITH THE STICK. JARVIS'S BODY
DROPS TO THE FLOOR WITH A THUD! THE KILLER SWITCHES OFF THE LIGHT.

Now, no shadows are seen once again through the window.

INT. SONYA'S HOUSE – NIGHT

Sonya is with her boyfriend, RAGNAR VOIGHT on a couch. A blanket covers
them. Looks like they just made love.

SONYA
(V.O.)
That moment, Elle...we...I was probably
                 in the couch with Ragnar.

ELLE
(V.O.)
(laughs)
Have a good time?

SONYA
(V.O.)
Not really.

Sonya turns her attention to Ragnar.

SONYA
I just wonder...

RAGNAR
What baby?

SONYA
How the gang is doing.

RAGNAR
I---

SONYA
You know all about it right.

RAGNAR
Yeah, yeah, Elle told me.

SONYA
I hope they're still seven.

RAGNAR
What?

SONYA
Don't you think...that the Bunnyman
killer has slayed at least one of them?

RAGNAR
I don't know, baby...

Beat.

SONYA
Wh---

RAGNAR
But Steve is with them.

SONYA
No, not Steve! Just Bryan.

RAGNAR
Oh, Bryan's a kickass dude. They're
                  all right.

Ragnar throws the covers aside revealing both of them in their
underwear. At least Sonya's wearing pajama tops.

Ragnar sits up.
RAGNAR
Why you suddenly bring that up?

SONYA
I don't know.

Beat.

SONYA
Just a little bit concerned. Since, they're
              my friends.

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

No one. But the axe that Bryan was holding now rests on the dining
table.

VALLOR
(V.O.)
Oh, fuck!

INT. ROOM – NIGHT

All five are now in the dark room.

It's the room where Jarvis's body is.

Jarvis's corpse lays on the floor. No blood. The murder was perfectly
clean.

ELLE
What the fuck happened?

BRYAN
He's inside.

Beat.

BRYAN
And he's gonna do this again.

Bryan crouches down and puts his palm at the back of Jarvis's neck to
feel his pulse. He's dead all right.

BRYAN
Right now, he's...somewhere, he could
                  be downstairs, I don't know.

MARY
Now, what took him long to take out
one of us since he killed Jack?

BRYAN
He killed Jarvis because he was alone.

ELLE
What---

BRYAN
That means he's obviously afraid that
we're gonna gang up on him...or something
                 like that.

MARY
He's already killed two! We can easily
go to the cops now and---

BRYAN
Like I always say, no cops.

Beat.

BRYAN
If he knows that we're gonna go
to the police, he won't show up.

Beat.

BRYAN
He's always playing this sick game
                   of his.

Beat.

BRYAN
But either way, we still want to pose
                 as his prey.

Vallor shakes his head, staring at the person who used to be his best
friend.

VALLOR
This is sooo fucking bad...

BRYAN
It's like, if we stay in this room,
he ain't gonna show up. Unless...
he can think up a way of attacking us
                  all at once.

MARY
What about his other victims?

BRYAN
He got lucky. They came as a group,
and he managed to hunt all them down
before they could ever get away.

BRYAN
But it won't happen to us.

Mary walks to the door, gets out of the room and stands in the

HALLWAY

Vallor follows her.

VALLOR
Hey, wait up!

MARY
Yeah?

Bryan, Elle and Abbie back away a few meters from the Jarvis's body.
They just leave it there, on the floor.

Vallor leans on the banister of the stairs in the dark hallway. Mary
stands beside her.

MARY
I wanna go home.

VALLOR
Me too.

MARY
I just don't understand how they
                    manage to be this tough.

VALLOR
Elle and Bryan?

MARY
Abbie.

VALLOR
Looks like all three of them are in
the mood for flirting with danger.

Beat.

VALLOR
Frankly, I'd give anything to convince
them to make us vamoose outta here.

MARY
You're---

VALLOR
But then again, I don't wanna leave.

MARY
What?

Beat.

MARY
You wanna---

VALLOR
I want that Bunnyman bastard unmasked.

MARY
Val, it's---

VALLOR
I don't care.

MARY
You---

VALLOR
I just want him to pay for what he did
                 to Jarvis.

IN THE ROOM

Bryan and Elle talk. Abbie sits on one corner. Her arms wrapped around
her knees, her head rested on it. Looks like the site of Jarvis's body
is starting to give her the creeps.

ELLE
If he's inside, where the fuck
                     could he be?

BRYAN
Somewhere.

Bryan frowns.

BRYAN
Or he's probably outside, trying
to figure out another way to take
                    one of us out.

ELLE
Bryan, promise me...

Elle swallows.

ELLE
You won't let him do that to the
                    five---

BRYAN
I won't let him touch you.

Bryan shakes his head.

BRYAN
Never, baby.

ELLE
But---

BRYAN
No, all we ever have to do is to
watch out. And be careful. Watch
                    our backs. Stay together.

Beat.

BRYAN
Elle, I just wanna ask.

ELLE
What?

BRYAN
Kurt.

ELLE
What about him?

BRYAN
Where did you find his body? I mean,
                  the cops when they---

ELLE
The bridge. The top of the bridge,
                   after he...

Elle swallows.

ELLE
...killed him, he didn't take Kurt
                   anywhere.

BRYAN
The cops checked his body for fingerprints.

ELLE
They did.

BRYAN
Whoever that son of a bitch is knows what
               he's doing.

ELLE
I know.

Elle tenses. Beat. Bryan steps closer to her.

BRYAN
You all right?

Bryan touches her arms.

ELLE
Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.

Elle takes a breath.
INT. SONYA'S HOUSE – NIGHT

Ragnar and Sonya still on the couch. This time, the T.V. set is on.
They sit in front of it, but they're not paying attention to it.

SONYA
I have a question.

RAGNAR
What?

SONYA
Do you miss Elle?

Beat. Ragnar shrugs.

RAGNAR
Maybe.

SONYA
Do you find me exciting?

RAGNAR
More exciting than Elle?

SONYA
Yeah.

RAGNAR
Well, I don't know.

SONYA
What do you make of the relationship
                  we're having?

RAGNAR
I don't know...

Ragnar frowns.

RAGNAR
I don't know, Sonya.

SONYA
You don't---

RAGNAR
I guess I feel something's...

Ragnar frowns again.

RAGNAR
Not right.

SONYA
What???

RAGNAR
You're right.

SONYA
Right about, what?

RAGNAR
I miss Elle.

Sonya's face tightens. She bites her lip. Shrugs.

SONYA
Okay.

RAGNAR
It's not that I---

SONYA
You think---

RAGNAR
Oh, she's a lot finer than you.

Ragnar smiles.

Sonya sighs.

SONYA
Then we should just quit this.

RAGNAR
Quit what?

SONYA
This. Go back to Elle. Tomorrow,
you're gonna tell her that you...
wanna be together with her again.

RAGNAR
I might.

Sonya edges closer to Ragnar on the couch.

SONYA
Why do you think Elle's doing this?

RAGNAR
What?

SONYA
Going to Bunnyman bridge.

RAGNAR
She wants to get back at the Bunnyman
killer for waxing Kurt off the face of
                 earth.

SONYA
Why didn't you go by the way?

RAGNAR
You?

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

They're all back in the kitchen. This time minus one. Jack was already
dead before they got to the house anyway.

BRYAN
All right, we all ain't gonna sleep.

MARY
Bryan, hello!!!

BRYAN
Mary?

MARY
We ain't sleepin' are we.

ABBIE
Yeah, we're not.

BRYAN
I mean, if it takes us the whole night
to get this bastard, be it then.

VALLOR
Bryan, why?

BRYAN
What do you mean?

VALLOR
Why go this far?

ELLE
Because I want to.

Bryan nods.

BRYAN
That's right.

ABBIE
How many times did we have this
                     conversation?

VALLOR
(whispering)
Not sure.

Beat. Bryan rubs the axe's handle momentarily. This will be the weapon
that he should use to strike Desmond Fahey down.
BRYAN
And we better...wait.

ELLE
You think he's upstairs?

BRYAN
Nah.

ABBIE
Wh—--

BRYAN
Probably in the garage.

ABBIE
What could he be doing?

BRYAN
Listening to us.

ELLE
I---

BRYAN
THAT won't matter. We're gonna
                     kill him anyway.

Elle's leaning against the wall, her mind totally empty. She's half-
afraid, half-anxious to get Desmond Fahey and send him to the grave.
Vallor turns to her. Vallor begins to speak in a HUSHED VOICE.

VALLOR
Elle, is this all worth it?

ELLE
I don't know, anymore Vallor.

VALLOR
We've been waiting for...I don't
know how much time has passed an
                    hour and fifty three minutes.

ELLE
Time won't matter.

Elle sighs.

ELLE
That son of a bitch is always taking
                  his time.

VALLOR
Do you think we'll win?

ELLE
We will.
VALLOR
Are you thinking about what he did
                   to his other victims?

ELLE
No.

VALLOR
What he can do to us.

ELLE
No.

VALLOR
How's Ragnar and Sonya by the way?

ELLE
Fine.

Elle moves closer to Vallor. Hoping that she can speak more softly.

ELLE
Guess they're both enjoying themselves.

Elle nods.

ELLE
I guess they are.

VALLOR
Do you care.

Elle raises a brow.

ELLE
Yeah.

VALLOR
What?

ELLE
I guess I kinda miss Ragnar.

VALLOR
You sure?

Beat. Elle shrugs.

ELLE
Not sure.

Elle takes a breath.

ELLE
About anything.

ABBIE
Got any other plans???

BRYAN
No.

ABBIE
Come on, Bryan, think.

BRYAN
I AM. I AM.

ABBIE
What would bring himself to appear?

BRYAN
If we make him mad.

ABBIE
If---

BRYAN
If we make him REALLY mad. We're gonna
PISS THE HELL OUTTA HIM. THEN HE MIGHT
                 SHOW.

Bryan shakes his hed.

BRYAN
But nahhh...

MARY
What?

BRYAN
That's gonna be hard.

ABBIE
What if we---

BRYAN
What?

ABBIE
Nah, it's too---

BRYAN
Come on, Abbie.

Abbie raises a brow. Chuckles.

ABBIE
Pretend to sleep. NO, no.

Bryan shrugs.

BRYAN
Right.

ABBIE
(to herself)
What else...huh...w...

ELLE
(abrupt)
Are you getting tired, Bryan?

BRYAN
No.

ELLE
Oh well.

BRYAN
You?

ELLE
A little bit. But I can handle it.

ABBIE
Wait a minute! There's a basement in
                  this house, right?

BRYAN
Yeah, so?

ABBIE
We can go check...if there's a gun.

BRYAN
A shotty. An old one with bullets
beside it. Hidden in a chest.

ELLE
Yeah, what do you think?

BRYAN
But what are we gonna use it for?

Bryan eyes everyone. All have their brows, raised, clueless as to how
to react.

BRYAN
It might be worth a try.

INT. BASEMENT

Dripping black devours the basement until---

the basement door opens, and the BLINDING BEAM of Elle's flashlight
spikes the darkness.

The five descend slowly down the staircase.

They scan the room. It's basically empty. Nothing.

BRYAN
Well, there's nothing here!

ABBIE
There can be something we can use.

BRYAN
Something???

ABBIE
Yeah.

MARY
He---

BRYAN
Desmond hasn't even shown himself, and
he barely does. So, that axe will do, okay?

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

They're all back.

Bryan sits on a chair, his elbow rested on the table, his palm covering
his eyes.

BRYAN
Whooo...

ELLE
Getting tired now, right?

BRYAN
I guess.

Bryan sighs.

BRYAN
I don't know, if we're going anywhere.

ELLE
Me neither.

Elle raises a brow and wears a curious look on her face. She looks to
the axe on the table.

ELLE
Bryan, you know how to use that axe?

BRYAN
When I was in boyscout camp...

Bryan gets his palms off his eyes. Blinks. Rubs his temples.

BRYAN
I used to do some tree chopping.

ELLE
I mean---

BRYAN
Don't worry, I can kick someone's ass
                 with it!

ELLE
Bryan, why don't you check outside?

BRYAN
What?

ELLE
Check outside.

BRYAN
What for?

ELLE
Come on, we keep waiting for him to make
                the first move...

BRYAN
Exactly what do you want me to do?

ELLE
Just open the door and start snoopin'
                 around

Bryan gets up. Brings the axe. He walks to the

LIVING ROOM that's not far from the kitchen.

And he heads for the door. He takes the long piece of wood away, opens
the door---

THEN THE KILLER APPROACHES! BUT SLOWLY.

Bryan squints his eyes. Oh yes, muthafucka, come to papa. He wants to
get a look at his face. But he CAN'T! Too dark.

Bryan shuts the door. Hurriedly puts the wood back into place. Just to
make sure that the door remains jammed.

Bryan holds the axe with both arms, ready to take a swing at anything.
Basically, he's doing a kendo stance. But he doesn't know it.

BRYAN
Come on, motherfucker!

ELLE
Bryan, it was him, right???

BRYAN
Yeah, yeah, quiet.

Bryan's still in the same position.

BRYAN
Come on, motherfucker. Come!

Bryan takes a deep breath. Excited.

BRYAN
Come on, you son of a bitch.

Beat. Bryan stays like that for a long time.

MARY
What's happening?

ELLE
He's coming.

A long moment goes by.

Nothing.

An even longer moment. Still, nothing, no one pounding on the door, no
shadows Bryan can see through the cracks of the wood-on-windows.

BRYAN
Damn it!

Bryan lowers the axe. Walks back to the kitchen.

Bryan sets the axe back on the table and begins walking back and forth.
Restless.

BRYAN
Why?

Beat.

BRYAN
Why God damn it!

ELLE
Bryan, give it a rest.

BRYAN
No.

MARY
What if he's waiting for us outside?

BRYAN
What?

MARY
What if he actually wants us to show
                  ourselves outside?

Bryan drops on one of the chairs near the table.

BRYAN
No. He doesn't want that.

VALLOR
Were you able to see his face?

BRYAN
No.

VALLOR
Could you make anything out at all?

BRYAN
No, I couldn't.

VALLOR
His nose.

BRYAN
No.

VALLOR
His hair.

BRYAN
No, no. I couldn't make anything out. Too
               fucking dark all the time.

ELLE
What are you thinking, Bryan?

BRYAN
I don't know.

ABBIE
Where do you think he is? What do you think
              he was up to?

BRYAN
Don't have a clue in that department either.

ABBIE
Do you think he's inside.

Bryan frowns.

BRYAN
Yes.

ABBIE
Or---

BRYAN
Or he could be coming in. I don't
                   know...

MARY
I have a feeling this will never end.

ABBIE
Me too.

BRYAN
Don't worry y'all. It will.

MARY
God, I wish there was a john.

ABBIE
What?

MARY
I gotta take a leak.

Beat. Mary takes a breath.

MARY
I've been holding it in.

Mary turns her attention to Bryan.

MARY
Bryan!

BRYAN
Yo!

MARY
You think there's a bathroom inside
                  this house?

BRYAN
There should be.

Bryan gets up. So does Mary.

BRYAN
I'll help you out.

Brya turns to Elle.

BRYAN
Elle.

ELLE
What?

BRYAN
Flashlight.

Elle tosses the flashlight to Bryan. Bryan walks out of the kitchen and
walks left. So does Mary.

They are now in a DARK HALLWAY. Straight ahead is a ROOM. They walk
towards it. Bryan pushes the door, trains the flaslight beam to it.
Well, it's a bathroom. The toilet is FAR from the door. About seven
meters apart from it. There's a tub, and lightbulb.

Bryan walks it. Pulls the rope of the lightbulb. It switches on. Bryan
walks out. Mary walks in.

BRYAN
There you go.

Bryan waits awhile.

BRYAN
Don't take too long, I'll be back
in the kitchen. You're gonna be needing
                   the flashlight.

MARY
(O.S.)
No, it's not to hard to see.

BRYAN
Okay.

INT. BATHROOM

Mary's just standing.

Mary turns to the toilet. Pulls her pants down revealing her WHITE
PANTY, then---

A HAND, GRIPPING A KNIFE REACHES IN AND SWINGS! THE KNIFE ASSAULTS
MARY'S NECK. MARY STAGGERS BACK, AWAY FROM THE TOILET BOWL, AND CRASHES
TO THE CERAMIC WALL.

Mary's body drops. Dead. It was the killer.

INT. KITCHEN – LATER

Abbie, Bryan and Elle are seated on the chairs. Vallor sits on the
floor.

ABBIE
What's taking Mary so long?

BRYAN
Nothing. We'll just wait for her.

Abbie shakes her head.

ABBIE
I don't think so.

BRYAN
So?

ABBIE
I better go check.

Abbie gets up.

Abbie walks left, then reaches the hallway, and then stands before the
bathroom door, that's HALF- OPEN. Just centimeters seal the gap between
the door and the wall around it. The light's still on.

ABBIE
Mary!

Beat. Abbie just stands. Waits.

ABBIE
Mary! Are you still...

Abbie takes a breath. This doesn't look good.

ABBIE
Mary!!!

This is enough. Abbie pushes the door open and BLANCHES at the sight of
Mary's dead body.

Abbie scurries away from the bathroom, walks through the hallway and
goes back to the

KITCHEN

Abbie's face becomes very pale.

ABBIE
OH MY GOD!

BRYAN
What???

ELLE
Abigail, what happened?

ABBIE
Oh, my...

Abbie swallows. She's breathing heavy.

ABBIE
He---

BRYAN
Abbie!

ABBIE
Mary. He killed Mary. She's in the
                   bathroom. I---OH MY GOD.

INT. DARK CORNER – NIGHT

It's a dark corner of the house. The killer is rummaging through a pile
of boxes. Looks like he owns this house, and he's stashed up a few
things.

The killer still holds the knife. He tucks it between his belt and
pants. It just stays there.

The killer whips out his fifty inch wooden stick. Tosses it to the
floor. He won't be needing it anymore.

The killer finds a FOLDED BLACK CLOTH. He unfolds it and it spreads
like a blanket. Even bigger than a blanket. He wears the black cloth
around his body. He's gonna use it as a cloak. Now, everything is
covered, his face is covered by the shadow of the cloak around his
head. Now he looks a lot like the Emperor in Return of the Jedi.

INT. SONYA'S HOUSE – NIGHT

Sonya sits on the couch. Ragnar lies on the floor. But both of them are
awake.

SONYA
I was wondering...

RAGNAR
What, baby?

SONYA
What if they're starting to die one
                  by one?

RAGNAR
That's impossible.

Ragnar shakes his head.

RAGNAR
I think the legend's bullshit.

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

The killer, still wearing the cloak emerges from the darkness! Finally!
Vallor gets up from the floor and dashes towards the killer. He tries
to take a swing.

VALLOR
Motherfucker!

The killer whips out the knife. Instant. He pushes it to Vallor's neck.
Vallor drops to the floor. Dead.
Bryan picks up the axe from the table. Swings it in an attempt to
cleave the killer. Then the killer evades the blow, and the axe gets
stuck in the wall!

Abbie backs up, then drops to a corner. Scared.

ABBIE
Noooo.

The killer punches Bryan in the face. Bryan flies back. Elle doesn't
react at all. Not yet. She's still seated on the table.

The killer walks towards Bryan, who is semi-conscious.

BRYAN
Shit.

The killer's a dumbass. ELLE GETS UP, GOES FOR THE AXE, PULLS IT OUT OF
THE WALL, WALKS CAREFULLY TOWARDS THE KILLER. SWINGS IT. IT STRIKES THE
KILLER IN THE STOMACH!

The killer drops to the floor.

Bryan finally manages to get up. He takes off the part of the cloak
covering the killer's face.

The killer is Steve Mayhew! Steve coughs blood. The axe still on his
stomach.

BRYAN
What the fuck were you doing, Steve?!!!

STEVE
I am Desmond Fahey. The Mayhew's adopted
                me...

Steve coughs out more blood.

STEVE
When my father died.

BRYAN
What the fuck?

STEVE
The first time I did...the...first...

Steve coughs again.

STEVE
Bunnyman murders. I became popular an
entire story. Legend was made up...

BRYAN
Now, how the fuck did the first victims
know that YOU were the killer. Desmond.

STEVE
They guessed very well.

BRYAN
And wh---

STEVE
I...enjoyed doing the routine. The
                   murders. I became...addicted.

BRYAN
Even to us, your friends you motherfucker!

STEVE
Always wanna be...consistent.

Elle just stares at the fallen Steve. Bryan pulls the axe ruthlessly
out of Steve's stomach.

STEVE
Arrrghhhh!

Bryan hands it to Elle. Elle just stands. For awhile. Elle crouches
down. Swings the axe.

FADE OUT

EXT. YARD – DAY

Back to Sonya and Elle on the yard. Still chatting.

SONYA
So you told the cops it was self
                    defense?

ELLE
Yeah.

SONYA
You know what...

Sonya shrugs.

SONYA
None of this makes sense.

ELLE
I know.

SONYA
Me and Ragnar had an argument two nights
                ago.

ELLE
What?

SONYA
He says that he's better off with
                   you.

Suddenly, Ragnar arrives. He approaches them on their table.

RAGNAR
Hi.

SONYA
Hi, Ragnar.

ELLE
So, how's everything.

RAGNAR
Fine. Did Elle tell you?

Beat. Elle nods her head.

RAGNAR
Wanna go somewhere? Anywhere.

Elle gets up. Holds Ragnar's hand.

ELLE
Yeah.
