NO COINCIDENCES

INT. BATHROOM – MORNING

 A MAN walks in the bathroom, clad in boxers. He has obviously just woken up as 
his hair is musseled and his face is unshaven. 

EXT. STREET – MORNING

A MAN is hit in the face with a baseball bat. He collapses onto the ground, 
clutching his shattered jaw. TWO MEN come out of an alley, shouting at him, they 
begin to kick the man on the ground in the stomach.

INT. BATHROOM 

The MAN looks into the mirror, his body dripping with water from a shower. He 
picks up a SHAVING RAZOR and begins to shave his face. Suddenly, his face 
contorts as he CUTS HIMSELF accidentally. BLOOD dribbles down his face.

EXT. STREET

The MAN lying on the sidewalk moans through his broken jaw, BLOOD dribbling out 
his mouth as the two men continue to yell and kick him.

INT. BATHROOM

The MAN straightens his tie in the mirror and combs his hair neatly. His hand 
briefly touches a SMALL WHITE BANDAGE on the side of his face, where he had cut 
himself. He EXITS the BATHROOM.

EXT. STREET

The TWO MEN take the man's WALLET. They flip through it impatiently, finding no 
money. They THROW the wallet down, PICTURES and VARIOUS CARDS fluttering out. In 
a fury MAN #1 KICKS the man on the sidewalk repeatedly in the FACE, as MAN #2 
PUMMELS the victim's body with the baseball bat.

INT. CAR – MORNING

The man drives in his car. On the dashboard sits a picture of a MIDDLE AGED 
BRUNETTE SMILING. The man HOLDS HER in his arms. The man then takes the picture 
and throws it down, watching it flutter to the floor. He then replaces the 
picture with a photo of a YOUNG BLONDE WOMAN.

MAN POV – He watches through the windshield as he rounds a corner to see outside 
an ALLEY, two men standing over a BLEEDING, BROKEN, YOUNG MAN on the sidewalk, 
he drives up to them, slowing.

EXT. STREET 

The TWO MEN look up as they see the car come around the corner and come to a 
stop beside them. The BUINESS MAN steps out of his car halfway, looking down in 
shock.

MAN #1 takes out a REVOLVER and SHOOTS THE BUINESS MAN IN THE HEAD. The back of 
the business man's head explodes in a shower of red. His brains paint the roof 
of the car. THE TWO MEN RUN AWAY.

The BUISNESS MAN'S BODY falls limply to the street beside the VICTIM.

CLOSE ON – A PHOTO lying in the GUTTER beside the VICTIM'S wallet. The picture 
is of the YOUNG BLONDE WOMAN. She is smiling.

FADE TO BLACK.
