THE WRATH OF THE PATRIOTS

We SWERVE in and out of the main titles, slowly into a dark
screen. The gruff voice of SOLID SNAKE is all that we hear. It
is semi-weak.
SNAKE
This is Solid Snake--if you're
listening to this, it means I'm
either missing--or worse. About
two years after the Big Shell
incident, an armed group of
terrorists took over the Shadow
Moses Island facility and demanded
thirty billion dollars. They said
if their demands were not met,
they would launch a nuclear strike
on Manhattan. They claimed to have
a new Metal Gear variation known as
Omega Gear. The weird part was that
terrorist leader turned out to be
Liquid Snake. With Ocelot dead and
buried, I knew that this could only get
worse. Once I arrived at the facility,
this whole nightmare started.
FADE IN.
SHADOW MOSES. NIGHT
We swoop up and over the heliport as the cargo elevator rises up
to the surface. It rises and a figure runs out from it and over
looks the very different facility. It is now three seperate
complexes joined together by connecting bridges. The figure is
shown to us in a flash of light--Solid Snake.
Snake is now two years older, and although he is showing his
age, he is still as quick as ever. Snake runs over and touches
the base of his skull to activate his codec. The codec screen
rises where Snake speaks to OTACON.
SNAKE
This is Snake, do you read me?
OTACON
I hear you. Bet this is bringing
back some memories.
SNAKE
You have no idea.
OTACON
As you can see, Shadow Moses
has changed alot since your
last visit. It's now three
seperate complexes joined
together by connecting bridges.
SNAKE
Sounds like the Big Shell lite.
OTACON
In any case, I've finished
downloading that satellite
photo. It shows some pretty
interesting people in them.
SNAKE
Who?
In the codec's small screen, a photo of Liquid Snake standing
next to his guards is shown.
SNAKE
Liquid...
OTACON
Yeah.
Snake notices the man in the black lycra jumpsuit next to
Liquid.
SNAKE
Who's that?
The picture is made bigger so that we can see this man.
OTACON
Deadpool. He's one of Liquid's
recruits. After he got his body
back, he started drawing in some
new blood for the takeover. First
being Deadpool. Once a member of
the KGB, he's armed to the teeth
with knives on his forearms, a
sword on his back, and an AKS-74u
strapped to his knee.
SNAKE
Sounds fun.
OTACON
Next there's Faron Strom. An
Ex-Marine who went sour on
the U.S. after the Gulf War.
SNAKE
Sour?
OTACON
Yeah. After the Gulf, he
felt that the U.S. was
treating it's soldiers
un-fairly. So he quit
and joined up with Liquid.
SNAKE
Just sounds like an aging
veteran to me.
OTACON
That sounds about right. And
finally, there's Tarpin Drake.
She was also a member of the
KGB at one time. She uses an
advanced form of telekenesis.
I'd watch for her, Snake.
SNAKE
All right. I think I'm ready.
OTACON
Okay. Call me if anything
comes up.
Snake ends the transmission and looks up at the large facility
ahead of him. Since his last visit six years ago, it has
definitely changed in appearance. The title fades in.
MEATL GEAR SOLID
THE WRATH OF THE PATRIOTS
INT. TANK HANGAR
We pan down from the ceiling and see the familiar, but also
quite different tank hangar. The camera pans across the top
level and we see a figure sneaking along. We pan back down to
the bottom level to see Snake coming in through a vent. He looks
up to the top and sees the figure. The figure sneaks past a
guard and enters a room labled "Air Chamber".
INT. AIR CHAMBER
The air chamber is a maze of dripping pipes and busted crates.
The man we saw earlier comes into view, allowing us to see that
he is wearing a Skull Suit. The camera stops behind him and
swoops around him in slow-motion to reveal RAIDEN. He still has
the long flowing blond hair, and looks older. He also still
sports the H.F. Blade. His name is displayed. Raiden has with
him an M9. He sneaks down the room and is caught off guard by a
figure(Deadpool) who lands in the darkened area of the room.
Raiden points his weapon at him.
RAIDEN
Who are you?
The figure doesn't answer, he just chuckles and steps into the
light, revealing a man in an all black jumpsuit. The man leaps
up into the air and tackles Raiden. They tumble across the floor
and slam into the opposite wall. Raiden is the first up and
points his M9 at him. The man slices into Raiden's arm with one
of the knives attatched to his forearm. Raiden stumbles back as
the man goes in again.
Raiden spin kicks him backwards into the wall. As Raiden starts
to go in, the man spins down and sends his fist into Raiden's
gut to knock him back. With Raiden dazed, the man goes in for a
stab. Raiden grasps the sides of the knife with his two palms.
As they struggle for the knife, the mysterious attacker takes an
open door and kicks Raiden's knees out from him. Raiden falls
and the man goes in again.
We pan back to the doorway to see the barrel of a USP pistol
pointed inside. A piercing bullet flies from it and, in a slow-
motion shot, connects with the man attacking Raiden. He falls
back onto the ground and seems dead, but isn't and leaps up into
the rafters.
Raiden looks back to see Snake in the doorway.
RAIDEN
Snake?
Raiden stands up and walks over to Snake.
RAIDEN
Snake...what are you doing
here? I--
Snake interrupts.
SNAKE
Nevermind what I'm doing here.
What are you doing here? What
about Rose?
Raiden falls silent, turning his back to Snake.
RAIDEN
Rose? She's... She's...dead.
Snake is taken aback by this.
SNAKE
Dead? How?
RAIDEN
She...killed herself.
SNAKE
Killed herself?
RAIDEN
It was about two months after the
Big Shell. We were so happy. It was
like nothing we did could break us
apart. Until...
We pan up and the screen flashes into a happy looking home. The
house is filled with family pictures, and a crib in the living
room. We pan into the kitchen and see a crying Rose, who holds a
45. Handgun. With her hand trembling, she raises it to her
temple.
ROSE
Why Jack? Why did it have
to be like this?
Shortly hereafter, Raiden enters and sees Rose. He tries to stop
her and runs out of frame as a single gunshot rings through the
air, following with the sound of a baby starting to cry. With
this, Raiden has lost Rose forever(NO EXPLENATION GIVEN AS TO
ROSE'S SUICIDE).
We pan up and flash back in with Snake and Raiden.
SNAKE
Raiden... I don't know what to
say. Except that... that I'm sorry.
RAIDEN
Don't be. It wasn't your fault.
It was mine...
There is a silence, which is broken by Snake's ringing codec.
Snake answers it--it's Otacon. Snake whispers as to not let
Raiden know he's disscussing what Raiden just revealed.
SNAKE
Otacon, did you hear that?
OTACON
I heard.
SNAKE
Well, I'm not gonna pry anymore.
OTACON
Right.
SNAKE
Anyway, was there any peticular reason
you called?
OTACON
Oh, yeah. I know Raiden is probably
distraught, but maybe you and him could
team up?
SNAKE
I'll ask him.
Snake ends the transmission and walks over to Raiden.
SNAKE
Raiden, if you don't mind me asking,
what were you doing here?
RAIDEN
Well, I figured since I didn't have
anything--or anyone--to live for anymore.
I'd come and check this out.
SNAKE
Raiden, let's work together. If we
join up, we can stop Liquid.
RAIDEN
Liquid's here?
SNAKE
Yeah. I don't know how, but I'm
sure gonna find out.
INT. COMPUTER ROOM
Inside this room, a man watches on a monitor as Snake and Raiden
sneak along. He watches them with eager anticipation. As he
watches, he looks back to a guard behind him and shouts.
MAN
Get my chopper ready. And send
"her" out.
GUARD
Yes, sir!
The guard springs into action as the man stands up from his
chair.
INT. WEAPON STORING ROOM
The weapon stock room is chalk full of assault rifles and such,
all for the taking. We pan down from the cieling as Snake and
Raiden sneak through it, weapons drawn. Snake is carrying a
SOCOM and Raiden is carrying an M9. As they get further inside,
a man in an all black lycra jumpsuit and a hood to cover his
head, lands in front of them. He also has knives attatched to
his forearm. He also has a sword on his back and an AKS-74u
strapped to his knee. This is Deadpool.
Snake and Raiden point their weapons at him.
SNAKE
Who are you?
DEADPOOL
I am Deadpool. I cannot let you
interfere.
Deadpool leaps up and lands next to them and kicks Snake
backwards across the floor. Raiden points his M9, but Deadpool
roundhouse kicks the gun out of his hand and unsheathes his
sword. Raiden unsheathes his H.F. Blade and the two commence
battle. The swords clash and clang before Raiden gets the one up
and cuts into Deadpool's leg.
As Deadpool stumbles back from the cut, Raiden skillfully kicks
the handle of Deadpool's sword, forcing it across the room. As
Raiden goes in, Deadpool ducks the overhead swing and spin kicks
Raiden backwards. As Deadpool stands there, he is caught off
guard by a spray of M4 fire from above. Snake stands on one of
the crates and fires his newly acquired M4A1 assault rifle.
Deadpool rushes forward and jumps up onto one of the crates.
He unstraps the AK rifle from his leg and fires upon Snake and
Raiden. As he is spent of ammo, he leaps down and begins
stalking the room for them. As he nears a crate, Snake leaps out
and fires a spray of bullets into Deadpool's body. He falls to
the ground in a crumpled heap.
As Snake looks over him, Raiden sheathes his sword and walks
over to Snake.
RAIDEN
Where the hell did he come
from?
SNAKE
He used to be a member of the
KGB.
RAIDEN
That explains the Russian origin.
Snake kneels down and contacts Otacon on the codec.
SNAKE
Otacon, we just ran into Deadpool.
OTACON
You guys okay?
SNAKE
We're okay, but Deadpool's a
different story.
OTACON
That's good news. Where are you
now?
SNAKE
Some kind of storing room for weapons.
OTACON
Hmm... You should be close to the
bridge that'll lead into the second
complex--and one step closer to Liquid.
SNAKE
What makes you so sure?
OTACON
Well the picture was taken from the
third complex. So logic points to that
conclusion.
SNAKE
Gotcha.
Snake ends the transmission and he and Raiden continue on
course. As they exit the storing room, we pan over to Deadpool
and see that his wounds are beginning to heal rapidly. Finally,
they're all healed and Deadpool rises up from the ground.
We immediately cut to a guard falling to the ground as Raiden
plugs him with an M9 dart. After Snake and Raiden check the
room, Snake spots what looks like a woman patrolling the hall up
ahead. Confused, and thinking it's Meryl, Snake walks ahead.
SNAKE
Wait here.
Snake walks ahead as Raiden looks on in confusion. Snake sneaks
up and leans against a pillar. He leaps out and points his USP
at the woman. In a slow-mo shot, the camera whips around Snake
and to the woman's face--MERYL SILVERBURGH!
SNAKE
Meryl? What--?
Snake holsters his weapon, but Meryl doesn't seem to recognize
him.
MERYL
Who are you!? What do you want
from me!?
SNAKE
Meryl, it's me. I-
Meryl whacks Snake in the face with her weapon--a Desert Eagle--
and runs into the opposite door. As the door locks behind her,
Snake turns to Raiden and walks over to him.
RAIDEN
Who was that?
SNAKE
It was... it was nobody.
Snake walks off as Raiden looks on in confusion. As Raiden joins
him, we cut to the room where Meryl entered. She has her ear
against the door, almost as if she's waiting for Snake to come
back. After a moment, she steps back from the door and throws
her gun across the hallway. With this, she drops to her knees
and begins weeping.
Shortly hereafter, she drops on her stomach, now at a full-on
cry.
EXT. SHADOW MOSES, BRIDGE - NIGHT
The door leading out to the bridge slides open and Snake and
Raiden exit through with weapons drawn. As the snow continues to
pound down on the bridge, Snake hears a noise. The noise starts
getting louder and louder before we finally are able to tell
it's helicopter blades whirring.
SNAKE
Do you hear that?
Suddenly, a large Russian military helicopter rises up and
shines it's bright light on Snake and Raiden. As Snake and
Raiden watch the chopper, a voice speaks out over the megaphone
which haunts Snake.
VOICE
Long time no see, brother.
SNAKE
Liquid?
LIQUID
Really, Snake, let's see how
brave you and your little lap
dog are!
The chopper lurches forward, firing it's high velocity turrets.
As the bullets hit the bridge, Snake and Raiden duck as the
chopper passes overhead. Peices of the bridge fly up from the
bullets as Liquid stops and turns the chopper around.
SNAKE
He's coming back!
Snake and Raiden duck again as the chopper swoops overhead.
Liquid stops and shouts over the megaphone.
LIQUID
That's good, Snake. But let's see
you dodge this!
Snake soon realizes what Liquid is referring to and runs across
the bridge. Raiden follows. Liquid unleashes a missile and it
connects with the bridge in a ball of fire. Snake dives across
the bridge and grabs onto the now wrecked part of the bridge--
but Raiden is not so lucky and falls into the icy waters below.
SNAKE
Damn...
LIQUID
Your two for two, Snake. But you
should be grateful to me, brother.
I'm doing us both a favor...
Confused by Liquid's remarks, Snake pulls himself up onto the
bridge and runs ahead into the second complex.
EXT. SHADOW MOSES, GROUND LEVEL - NIGHT
As we pan across the icy waters, Raiden's head breaks the
surface. As he catches some air, he swims up to shore. As Raiden
stands there, we cut into the second complex. Inside, Snake
kneels down and contacts Otacon.
OTACON
Snake! You okay?
SNAKE
I'm good, but Raiden fell into
the water.
Otacon is at a loss for words.
SNAKE
I've gotta help him.
OTACON
How can you if Liquid's circling
like a hawk out there?
SNAKE
Damn!
Snake ends the call abruptly and cautiously starts to head for
the door. As he nears it, a figure, which can only be described
as a Cyborg Ninja, drops in front of Snake. What follows is a
montage of black and white fuzzy footage of the two previous
Ninja's. It comes to a close as Snake points his weapon at the
Ninja.
SNAKE
Who are you?
NINJA
Do no trust the one called Meryl.
She is not of sound, mind, and body
like you. She makes not her own
decisions, but those decisions of
others.
As quickly as the Ninja has appeared, he vanishes into thin air.
Snake stands puzzled, then kneels down to contact Otacon.
SNAKE
Otacon, I just saw a ninja...
OTACON
Ninja?
SNAKE
It's like there's an army of
them.
After a short silence, Snake speaks up.
SNAKE
Well there's no time to worry
about it. I'm going ahead.
OTACON
All right. Call me if anything
comes up.
SNAKE
Copy.
As Snake stands, he receives a call. He kneels down and answers
it--it's Raiden!
RAIDEN
Snake...
SNAKE
Raiden...? You alright?
RAIDEN
Barely made it to shore. You're
not gonna believe it.
SNAKE
What?
RAIDEN
Well... I'm under the third
complex and...
We cut to where Raiden is; under the third complex. He is
crouched as the camera swings around him and we get a good view
of Omega Gear--the new Metal Gear.
RAIDEN
I think I've found the new
Metal Gear...
SNAKE
Omega?
RAIDEN
Bingo.
Raiden walks over to get a closer look as Otacon comes into the
conversation.
OTACON
Raiden, did I hear you were
under the third complex?
RAIDEN
Yeah.
OTACON
If I'm right, I'd venture a
guess that you're about thirty
or forty miles away from the
central mainframe.
SNAKE
What's at the mainframe?
OTACON
Well, if I walk Raiden through
it, he can get a detailed readout
of Omega Gear's mission plan.
Well, that is--if my readout
is right.
SNAKE
Can you do it, Raiden?
RAIDEN
I got it.
The transmission ends and Raiden starts ahead. As he takes off,
Omega Gear revs up and starts going into 'Launch Mode'. The
turret points up towards the sky as a voice comes over the
facility's megaphone.
VOICE
Attention, we are preparing for
launch one. Launch in T-minus
twenty seconds.
RAIDEN
Snake! Omega--it's--it's launching
or something!
SNAKE
I heard.
RAIDEN
What do we do?
SNAKE
I... I'm coming down there...
Snake ends the call and runs forward. As the countdown reaches
seven, Snake stops and listens.
VOICE
Seven, six, five, four, three,
two, one--fire!!
The facility is rocked by the launch. Snake manages, and
continues on. As he passes a hallway, he is caught off guard by
a spray of bullets. He dives forward and takes cover at the end
of the hallway. As he does, we pan into the hallway and see a
man in army fatigues, black army boots, and holding a M16A,
which is heavily modified. It has a scope on it, an LAM(Laser-
Aiming-Module), a Thermal output scanner(for detecting bodies or
anything warm), and the stock extended for more accurate aiming.
The man's name--FARON STROM.
Faron has modified this weapon into what he now calls the "V-
Frag". As Snake takes cover, he takes a grenade out and pulls
the pin. Snake throws it into the hallway and Faron takes note
of it, diving out into Snake's view. It explodes and Snake runs
after Faron. Snake punches Faron in the stomach, and kicks the
gun out of his hand. Snake trips Faron to the ground and looks
down at him.
SNAKE
You must be Faron Strom...
INT. BREIFING ROOM
In the breifing room, we see Meryl sitting in a chair, tied up.
From out of frame, we hear Liquid Snake.
LIQUID
What?! He saw you?
Liquid comes into frame and stands over Meryl.
MERYL
I'm sorry. I couldn't-
LIQUID
Sorry doesn't make up for him
seeing you does it?
Liquid stammers for a moment.
LIQUID
It doesn't matter. I've still
got one good ace up my sleeve.
Liquid turns around and pulls out a com unit.
LIQUID
Launch the second one in five
minutes.
GUARD
(over com)
Yes sir!
Liquid turns the com off and looks at Meryl.
LIQUID
You still have some use.
MERYL
Whatever it is, you can shove
it up your ass.
Liquid smirks.
LIQUID
Really?
MERYL
I'm not doing this crap
anymore, and you can't--
Within an instant, Liquid has a handgun in Meryl's face.
LIQUID
Make you? I'm afraid I can. I
can make you do anything. And
don't say you have nothing to
live for... you're just like Snake...
you live just to live...
Meryl sits back in her chair.
LIQUID
It's disgusting...
EXT. SHADOW MOSES, CENTRAL MAINFRAME - NIGHT
Through the rough snow, Raiden finds his way to the mainframe.
He walks up to it and activates his codec.
RAIDEN
Otacon, I've found the mainframe.
OTACON
Great. Now hit enter and that
should bring up the main menu.
Raiden complies and a screen pops up, asking him to enter a
password.
RAIDEN
It wants me to enter a password.
OTACON
Right. It's 'A X A B A L U'.
Raiden complies and a slew of graphics light up the screen.
Raiden reads into them with a look of worry.
RAIDEN
Oh no...
OTACON
What?
RAIDEN
It says the first one was headed
for Manhattan.
OTACON
What about the second?
After a moment, Raiden has the answer, but the answer is not
what he would expect.
RAIDEN
Mahattan.
OTACON
Hmmm...
RAIDEN
It's strange...
OTACON
What is?
RAIDEN
All the targets--are Mahattan.
And it's set to launch twelve
times...
OTACON
Twelve?
Otacon realizes something.
OTACON
There's twelve Patriots.
RAIDEN
The Wisemen's Comitee..
INT. HALLWAY
Back with Snake, Faron is the aggressor. He trips Snake down and
quickly has a pistol to his head. Snake thinks quickly and
brings his elbow up into the gun, knocking into the air and back
onto the ground. Snake dives for the weapon, as does Faron. As
they wrestle on the ground for it, Snake kicks Faron in his
exposed knee cap. As Faron howls in pain, Snake grabs the pistol
and points it at him.
FARON
So...
Faron stands and, for some reason, Snake doesn't shoot.
FARON
Solid Snake--the legendary
mercenary. The one who defeated
Liquid Snake six years ago. The
one who has saved the world from
Metal Gear four times--soon to
be five...
SNAKE
What makes you so sure? Heroes
don't always win...
FARON
Perhaps...
EXT. SHADOW MOSES, MAINFRAME - NIGHT
Raiden continues to peer into Omega's mission plan.
RAIDEN
It says here that after the
missiles are launched, the
White House, Pentagon, and
D.I.A. are to be flooded with--
Raiden sounds out a word that's unfamiliar to him.
RAIDEN
--"Crono Gas".
OTACON
'Crono Gas'?
RAIDEN
Any ideas?
OTACON
Well, Crono Gas is a type of nerve
gas that was being developed by the
Nazi's during World War II. Then later
scrapped.
RAIDEN
Then why do the terrorists have
it?
OTACON
It was later put back into
development by the Russians
in 2005.
RAIDEN
Ocelot?
OTACON
I'm guessing.
RAIDEN
Wait. Wasn't 2005 when Shadow
Moses first happened?
OTACON
Hmmm...
RAIDEN
So it was all set up then?
OTACON
That's as good an assumption
as any.
As Raiden continues to delve deeper into Omega's mission plan,
we hear a voice behind him.
VOICE
Don't you know that hacking
is illegal?
Raiden turns around and points his M9 at the voice behind him.
It's Liquid Snake.
LIQUID
What? Is Snake so old that
he sends his flunkies to do
his dirty work?
Liquid aims a pistol and fires at Raiden. Several of the shots
miss before one successfully hits Raiden's arm.
INT. HALLWAY
We immedeately cut to Faron Strom falling to the floor, out
cold. Snake stands over him and points the Desert Eagle pistol
that Faron had at him. With Faron out cold, Snake kneels down
and contacts Otacon.
SNAKE
Otacon, where's Raiden?
OTACON
At the mainframe, but I
lost contact with him. Snake,
we may have found out Liquid's
plan.
SNAKE
What is it?
OTACON
Well, all the targets are
set for Manhattan, and it's
set to launch twelve times.
SNAKE
Twelve?
OTACON
Right--twelve Patriots...
A short silence.
OTACON
And--the missiles are set
to fire in conjuction with
'Crono Gas'.
SNAKE
Crono?
OTACON
I assume you know it?
SNAKE
Yeah--I know it. I'm heading
to the mainframe.
OTACON
Got it.
Snake ends the transmission and heads out toward the bridge. As
Snake nears it, he is caught off guard by Faron Strom. Faron
grabs Snake and starts choking him. Snake runs forward as Faron
loses his footing and they both fall out onto the bridge. Snake
is the first up and punches Faron. As his body curves over the
side, Snake senses his opportunity and kicks Faron's feet out
from underneath him.
Faron screams and falls to his death as Snake continues across.
As he reaches the end, he spots a hatch that opens up to a
ladder. Snake opens the hatch and climbs down the ladder. About
halfway down, Snake grabs the side of the ladder and slides the
rest of the way down.
EXT. MAINFRAME - NIGHT
As Raiden continues his fight with Liquid, a large war-cry is
let out. Liquid turns around as Snake tackles him. They tumble
across the snow and seperate at a large rock formation. Snake
stands up and slams Liquid into it.
SNAKE
How!? How are you still
alive, Liquid!?
LIQUID
I can't reveal all my
secrets, brother.
As Snake readies to punch Liquid, a barrage of voices fill in
from behind. They all shout "Freeze!", "Stop!", and "Don't
move!". Snake turns around to see a group of enemy guards
holding assault rifles and such.
SNAKE
Damn...
Snake throws Liquid down and runs into the weapon alcove with
Raiden. As the silence ensues, one of the guards remembers.
GUARD
No! That's the weapons
locker!!
He runs up, but is blasted back by M4 bullets. Snake and Raiden
rush out--Snake carrying an M4 with a M203 grenade launcher
attatched to it--and Raiden carrying an MP5 Submachine Gun. As
they blast their way through the guards, Snake launches a
grenade from the launcher and blows away five guards. As a full
alert hits the area, Snake looks to Raiden.
SNAKE
Split up!
They run in opposite directions as a guard takes aim at Snake
with his own grenade launcher.
GUARD
Grenades!
Liquid stops him.
LIQUID
I want him alive...
Liquid looks up to the rock formation above him and snaps his
fingers. Deadpool leaps off and lands in a crouched position.
INT. THIRD COMPLEX, HALLWAY
We steady on a hatch as it opens and Snake peeks his head
through. He points his M4 out of the little opening and crawls
out. Getting further down the hall, Snake is confronted by the
Cyborg Ninja.
NINJA
Danger lies ahead--as do
lies, deciet, and sorrow...
SNAKE
What are you talking about?
The Ninja vanishes and Snake kneels down to contact Otacon.
SNAKE
Otacon, I just saw the ninja
again...
OTACON
Hrmmm... I'm digging through
the surveillance camera photos,
and I'm seeing signs of the
Ninja, except that he's--
SNAKE
He's what?
OTACON
He's killed a countless number
of Liquid's men. Their bodies
are scattered all over the complex.
SNAKE
I'll keep my eyes open.
OTACON
Right.
Snake ends the call and continues on. As he passes a door, Snake
hears a bit of rustling behind it. Sucpisions aroused, Snake
enters through the door into a lobby of sorts. It is filled with
tables, chairs, and other things. As Snake comes through, one of
the tables is hurled into the air and towards him. Snake jumps
ahead to take cover from the hurtling table. As Snake sits
there, a woman, TARPIN DRAKE, steps out from the shadows. She is
wearing camouflage army pants, an army tank top, and black army
boots. Very reminiscant of Meryl. Snake looks up and sees the
woman. Tarpin moves in to Snake as he ducks back down.
TARPIN
What? Do I remind you of
someone?
Although she cannot see Snake, she still speaks as if he is
right in front of her. With a quick move, Snake stands up and
points his M4 at her. Tarpin casually knocks the gun out of his
hand with her ability. With Snake confused, she launches an
attack. The table that Snake is next to flips up and pins him
down. As Snake struggles to get it off, Tarpin picks the M4 up
off the ground. She studies the weapon and aims it at Snake.
INT. THIRD COMPLEX, HALLWAY
We steady on a ventilation shaft, which is kicked through
moments later as Raiden exits and checks the surrondings. Raiden
walks down the hall with his MP5 pointed. Although not yet
visible to Raiden, the Omega Gear docking port is just ahead. As
he makes his way past a large set of infared sensors, he comes
face to face with Deadpool.
As they stare each other down, Deadpool goes on the move,
unstrapping the AKS-74u from his knee. He fires as Raiden takes
cover and loads his weapon.
As Deadpool stalks towards Raiden, the latter leaps out and
fires. Deadpool leaps up and grabs onto the rafters. He swings
and flips. Deadpool lands behind Raiden and wraps the AK round
his neck. As Deadpool chokes him, Raiden slams the butt of his
MP5 into Deadpool's stomach. As they stare each other down, they
take cover in an instant. They have quickly spent all their
ammunition and unsheathe their swords.
Deadpool holds his high above his head as Raiden holds his such
as he did in Sons Of Liberty(holding the side of the blade with
his left hand.).
INT. LOBBY
As Tarpin readies to fire, Snake kicks the table off and runs
across the room. Bullets fly through the air and destroy the
surroundings as Snake runs for cover. He finds it and begins to
think of a plan. He takes out an empty magazine and also a
grenade. He pulls the pin from the grenade and tosses the
magazine in one direction to distract Tarpin--it works! Tarpin
fires direcly at the magazine as Snake tosses the grenade at her
feet.
Tarpin is wise to Snake though and takes cover as the grenade
explodes. As Tarpin comes out of hiding, Snake grabs the barrel
of the gun and wrestles it out of her hands. With the gun on the
ground, Tarpin starts to totally demonstrate her extraordinary
abilities.
INT. HALLWAY
Swords clash and clang in the hallway as Raiden and Deadpool
duel. Raiden spins, misses an overhead swing, and is barely in
time to parry a blow from behind. Raiden brings the swords down
to the ground and brings the bottom of his blade up into
Deadpool's chin. As Deadpool stumbles backwards, Raiden spins
and, in slow-motion, lops the head off of Deadpool's neck.
With Deadpool defeated, Raiden sheathes his sword and walks
ahead. He comes through the large chamber and sees a horde of
mass-produced, smaller Omega Gear units. In awe of the sight, he
kneels down and contacts Otacon.
RAIDEN
Otacon, you're not gonna believe it...
INT. LOBBY
As Tarpin sends several objects around the room, one of the
chairs connects with Snake and knocks him backwards. With some
luck though, Snake has landed next to his M4. He takes cover
and, at the right time, pops out. Before he can fire a grenade,
the light protruding from the top of the room falls to the
ground, cutting the lights from the room and making it pitch
black.
Snake takes out a small flashlight and shines it on the wall--a
horrific sight greets him; Tarpin's body pinned to the wall by
the Ninja's sword. Snake walks over to the downed Tarpin. She
coughs blood as she speaks to Snake.
TARPIN
I... I look like Meryl... do
I not?
Snake nods.
TARPIN
Save her, Snake. She lays in
wait for you.
She pauses.
TARPIN
Liquid--his ideas--they're
never for good--only for the
weak souls who dream of world
domination. Those who take
pleasure in other's misfortune.
SNAKE
Where is she?
TARPIN
The command post... you'll
find her there. Go Snake...
Snake turns and walks off as Tarpin dies. Once outside, Snake
starts to kneel down, but is caught off guard as Liquid smacks
Snake in the back of the head with an assault rifle. With Snake
down, several guards rush in, holding Meryl. As Snake slowly
starts to pass out, Liquid shouts out.
LIQUID
Snake, I'm really sorry to see
it end this way. I must admit,
it's sadly anti-climactic...
Liquid turns to the guards.
LIQUID
Hold him...
Three guards hold Snake up by his sneaking suit as Liquid points
a handgun at Meryl's temple. At this moment, Snake is powerless
and cannot do anything.
BLACK OUT, FOLLOWED BY A GUN SHOT.
FADE IN.
JAIL CELL.
Snake stirs and sees Liquid standing in front of the cell.
SNAKE
Liquid!
LIQUID
Glad you're awake...
Liquid examines his new body.
LIQUID
Like the new body? It was
a steal...
SNAKE
How?
LIQUID
Actually quite simple. It's a
proccess called gene reanamation.
No doubt you've heard of it?
SNAKE
Yeah. But I hear it isn't quite
stable.
LIQUID
On the contrary, it is very
stable. It's a formulated
program where you take those
said genes that either don't
work or have run out of fuel
and--reanamating them.
SNAKE
Sounds complicated.
LIQUID
Indeed. But well worth it.
SNAKE
What about Meryl?
LIQUID
Unfortunately, you were out
like a light before you could
witness her demise.
Snake, overcome by rage, runs up to the bars.
SNAKE
You better hope I don't get
out of here... Because if I
do--I'll tear you apart.
LIQUID
Strong words, Snake. But reallly,
is that the way you talk to someone
who's doing you a favor?
SNAKE
What?
LIQUID
Yes. The plan to wipe out
the Patriots.
SNAKE
So you do know who they are...
LIQUID
Of course...
We fade to a group picture of the Wisemen's Comittee. Slowly,
their faces are uncovered as Liquid speaks.
LIQUID
They're not what you'd think.
They are the first twelve U.S.
Presidents.
SNAKE
What?
LIQUID
Once elected into this 'secret
government' known as the Patriots,
they were sensing their time was
coming to an end. So, they
successfully transformed themselves
into living, breathing machines.
The first, George Washington--GW
for short--was made into what would
later become Arsenal's AI. The
others would rule the world until
GW was successfully integrated.
If that virus had not destroyed GW,
I don't know how things would have
fared.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN: JAIL CELL
LIQUID
They've been ruling the entire
nation since that time. I guess
your friend Otacon hit the nail
on the head as to the time of
their deaths. They all died--
Liquid makes a quotation mark gesture with his fingers.
LIQUID
--"about" one hundred years
ago. All of them died in their
eighties, so that's about 120
years ago...
Liquid turns his back to Snake.
LIQUID
...yes... a secret government
indeed.
SNAKE
What about Crono Gas?
LIQUID
Ah--Crono Gas--my 'ace in the
hole'. As you know, the Russians--
or just one Russian--put it back
into development during the first
incident at Shadow Moses. I've
been using Ocelot this entire
time! Don't you get it!?
A short silence.
SNAKE
What about FOXDIE?
LIQUID
You mean the same virus that
killed me during our last battle?
Gone. Gene reanamation has a way
of washing things out of your system.
But as for you--I'm not so sure. It
could still be floating around in your
system... waiting for the right time to
cut the biological cord...
SNAKE
Why wasn't Omega Gear used in
full force during the Big Shell?
Liquid laughs mockingly at Snake, then turns back to him.
LIQUID
Did you really think I would
build something that powerful
and let Ocelot have it? Hmph...
Ocelot... he thought he was
using me. The fact is--I was
using him. He had no idea of
it being built, nor did he know
where it was.
SNAKE
And the Ninja?
LIQUID
Strange, isn't it? Those Ninja's
just keep popping up...
Suddenly, Snake's codec rings through. And although the receiver
is in Snake's ear, and only he can hear it, Liquid senses what
Snake is hearing and speaks out.
LIQUID
Answer it... I won't stop you...
Snake, reluctantly, answers his codec.
OTACON
Snake...
SNAKE
Otacon, did you hear?
OTACON
I heard. This is bad...
SNAKE
You can say that again... Where's
Raiden?
OTACON
Last time I talked to him, he
was at the Omega Gear docking
port.
SNAKE
Is he still there?
OTACON
I'm not sure...
SNAKE
Damn...
We cut to outside of the room, where Raiden has been listening
through the door the enitre time.
Back inside, Snake ends the transmission with Otacon as Liquid
loads and aims an M4 rifle at Snake.
LIQUID
Now that I have the pleasure
of knowing you can't do a thing
about this...
Back outside, Raiden hears Liquid cock the rifle and busts
through the door. Liquid smiles.
RAIDEN
Snake...
LIQUID
(to Raiden)
Still trying to be a hero?
Liquid aims and, in slow-motion, empties the entire M4 clip into
Raiden. Raiden sprawls against the wall, blood spurting from his
body.
SNAKE
Raiden!!
Liquid laughs evily and reloads the weapon. As Liquid aims the
M4 at Snake, the weapon is struck out of his hands and into the
wall by the Ninja's sword. With Liquid confused, the Ninja leaps
up and kicks Liquid backwards. The Ninja grabs the sword from
the wall and cuts into the bars, freeing Snake.
NINJA
(to Snake)
Go!
The Ninja vanishes as Snake leaps out and tackles Liquid. As
Snake rears his arm up, three guards burst into the room with
MP5's. Snake rolls off of Liquid and takes cover as the three
guards fire. Sensing his time, Liquid escapes. As the guards
continue to fire, they are all shot from behind and fall dead to
the ground. When they fall out of frame, the Ninja stands behind
them, holding an assault rifle.
SNAKE
What the--?
Snake walks up to the Ninja.
SNAKE
That's it... who are you!?
NINJA
I am--
The Ninja removes the face plate to reveal Meryl.
SNAKE
Meryl? I... but--
MERYL
Don't try to think about
it--make sense of it... it
doesn't make much sense to
begin with. Liquid forced
me to be the Ninja to keep
you going on the mission.
That's why I didn't acknowlege
you earlier...
SNAKE
What about the gunshot?
WHITE OUT TO:
Snake being held by the guards as Liquid points the weapon at
Meryl.
As Snake slowly passes out, Liquid points the gun into the air
and fires above Meryl's head.
WHITE OUT TO:
Snake and Meryl
Suddenly, Snake remembers Raiden. Snake runs over to his fallen
comrade.
SNAKE
Raiden?
Raiden looks up, with blood all over his sneaking suit, and
speaks in a very weak tone.
RAIDEN
Snake... I... I'm sorry I
wasn't able to... to stop
Liquid... You... you would've
been able to... Just get
him... get Liquid... he's
all that matters...
Snake turns to Meryl.
SNAKE
Meryl, watch over him. I'm
going after Liquid... he's
not going to get away with
this... not this time...
Snake re-equips his gear as we flash cut to a pair of running
feet. We pan up and see Liquid as he darts towards Omega Gear's
docking port. As he enters the room, he shouts out to the
guards.
LIQUID
Launch it!
The guards spring into action as Snake runs in and points a USP
at Liquid.
SNAKE
LIQUID!!!
Liquid turns around as Snake fires a bullet from his USP. The
bullet hits an explosive barrel of fuel and explodes violently.
The explosion causes a chain reaction which destroys the fifteen
mass-produced Omega Gear units. As Liquid and Snake stand up in
the aftermath, Liquid gets in a fighting position--as does
Snake. They run toward each other like two frieght trains.
They collide and the fight ensues. The fight is as elegant as it
is brutal. The fight comes to a head when Liquid tosses Snake
into a barrel of Crono Gas. As the gas sweeps into the room,
Liquid runs and escaps through a small hatch which leads
outside.
INT. JAIL CELL
As Meryl holds Raiden's hand in her own, Raiden looks up to her.
RAIDEN
You know... Snake's lucky to
have a girl like you in his life...
Meryl smiles at him.
MERYL
And he's very lucky to have a
friend like you...
With this Raiden's head starts to droop toward the ground.
Finally, it drops completely and at this moment, Snake has lost
one of his best friends.
EXT. SHADOW MOSES - NIGHT
As Liquid stomps through a snow drenched area, toward the
mainframe, Snake shouts from behind.
SNAKE
Liquid!!
Liquid turns as Snake rams into him, his USP skidding across the
snow. As Liquid falls to the ground, the final battle between
Solid Snake and Liquid Snake ensues. The two brothers--"Les
Enfants Terribles". It seems like Snake is at the end of his
rope when Liquid knocks him down and slams his boot into Snake's
neck. As he chokes the life out of him, Snake notices his USP
beside him. Within an instant, Snake has Liquid against a rock
formation with the USP placed firmly against Liquid's stomach.
LIQUID
You don't have the guts. If
you did, you would've done
it six years ago...
The camera pans up into the air as a gun shot rings out. We pan
back down as Liquid lays face down in the snow, blood pouring
out from his stomach. As Snake walks away from Liquid, Omega
Gear comes stomping through the snow.
SNAKE
Damn...
As it seems like a hopeless battle, Snake remembers the weapon
locker behind him. He darts towards the locker and dives in as
Omega's turrets barely miss him. All seems quiet for a moment
until Snake comes out with a Stinger missile launcher. The fight
is brutal, but Snake brings Omega Gear down finally.
With Omega down, Snake runs back to Meryl.
INT. JAIL CELL
Snake rushes in and sees Meryl crying.
SNAKE
Meryl?
Meryl hugs him.
MERYL
Snake... I'm so sorry.
Snake looks down to Raiden's body to see that he is dead.
MERYL
I know he was your friend. And
just so you know--for the time
I knew him--he was my friend, too.
After a few moments of silence, a voice comes in from over the
loudspeaker.
VOICE
Attention! We are initiating the
self-destruct sequence. All remaining
personnel, report to the evacuation
areas!
SNAKE
Come on...
Meryl gives Raiden one last look and leaves the room as Snake
starts to leave, but stops. He looks down at his fallen comrade.
An explosion rocks the facility, forcing Snake to leave. We fade
into a montage of Snake capping guards for his and Meryl's exit.
At the last moment, Snake and Meryl dive from the exploding
facility.
As they watch it burn in flames, Snake kneels down and contacts
Otacon.
SNAKE
Otacon...
OTACON
Snake, are you okay?
SNAKE
We're fine.
OTACON
I, uh, heard about Raiden.
There's a silence, followed by Snake breaking it.
SNAKE
Looks like the mission was a
sucsess of sorts.
Otacon chuckles at Snake's dry humor, but is obviously
depressed.
OTACON
Yeah...
SNAKE
I'll be seeing you soon.
Snake ends the transmission and starts to turn around as a hand
grabs Meryl and pulls her back.
SNAKE
Meryl!
Snake turns as Liquid holds Meryl with a gun to her head.
SNAKE
Liquid! How the-
LIQUID
Snake, we all have to lose something--
or someone--in our life, otherwise we
can't really be called human.
Liquid points the gun at Meryl's head and fires. Everything
seems to happen within a split second as Snake dives for Meryl's
falling body. As Snake grabs her, we resume full speed. Snake
cradles Meryl in his arms.
SNAKE
Meryl? I--
Liquid points the weapon at Snake and smirks.
LIQUID
Now you can be called human--
Snake.
As Liquid starts to fire, Snake grabs Liquid's wrist and twists
it, dropping the gun to the ground. Snake grabs Liquid by the
shirt and punches him. But as he does, Snake loses his footing
and they both fall off the edge of the cliffside.
BLACK OUT.
As we fade back in, we see Snake on top of Liquid--both battered
and bloody. Snake looks down and realizes that Liquid broke his
fall and saved him from certain death. Snake rolls over and
tries to contact Otacon, but the codec doesn't respond, only
static comes through. With a dissapointed look on his face,
Snake puts his hand to his shoulder and unzips a side pocket.
He takes out a small micro-recorder, presses the recording
button, and begins speaking into it.
SNAKE
This is Solid Snake--if you're
listening to this, it means I'm
either missing--or worse. About
two years after the Big Shell
incident, and armed group of
terrorists took over the Shadow
Moses Island facility and demanded
thirty billion dollars.
We pan up and into the sky as Snake's voice gets lower and
lower, before finally fizzing out completely. FADE OUT.
TO BE CONCLUDED...
After the credits come to a close, the logo for the film is
displayed as a voice-over comes over the logo.

SNAKE
Otacon, can you hear me? This
is Snake... Do you read me?
A bit of static, followed by Otacon's voice.
OTACON
I hear you. What happened?
SNAKE
The facility's been destroyed.
OTACON
Omega?
SNAKE
Down for the count.
OTACON
Good.
SNAKE
I need evacuation.
OTACON
I'm on it...
Suddenly, over the transmission, we hear a large stomping sound.
The sound grows louder and louder before Snake's voice comes on
again.
SNAKE
Uh-oh...
OTACON
What is it?
SNAKE
Omega...
Omega's large cry is let out over the radio as Snake's signal
fizzes out.
OTACON
Snake?
Nothing.
OTACON
Snaaaake!!!
A FLASH CUT OF SNAKE FIGHTING OMEGA.
FADE OUT.
THE END.
WRITER'S NOTE:
The above ending does not exactly indicate that Solid Snake was
killed. It's only there to make you think. This sort of ending
can go either way. You can make your own ending. Does Snake
defeat Omega Gear finally? Or does Omega take Snake out? Make up
your own ending. If this script were to ever be made into a
film, a second would be made to tie up the loose end.
