wondering how I got in this
situation... I never meant for
this to happen I just wanted to
fit in have some friends maybe
for once not be a loser but
things got out of hand I hung out
with the wrong people did the
wrong things and this is where my
life is now.

(RAFFA'S MOM WALKS INTO THE ROOM AND HANDS THE KIDS A PIZZA AND
KISSES RAFFA ON THE CHEEK.)

Here you boys go enjoy give some

Thats my best friend Ryan We've
known each other ever since we
were in 8th grade. He's like the
only friend I ever had growing up
because I wasn't into the kind of
things kids do now days, but me
and Ryan know everything about
each other, were tight friends.
(RAFFA'S MOM LEAVES AND RAFFA JUMPS UP AND DOES A VICTORY DANCE
BECAUSE HE JUST BEAT RYAN AT NFL BLITZ.)

(RAFFA SITS DOWN AND GRABS A SLICE OF PIZZA AND RELAXES AND SO

Now see the problem is how do we
save the pizza for your sister
when your sister isn't even here.
RAFFA

(THE BOYS LAUGH ABOUT THAT AND GOOF OFF.)

Hey so I got this thing from my
grandfather, they call it Ouija
board or something.
RAFFA
Oh yeah, I've heard of those,

RYAN

(THE GUYS SMILE AND PUSH EVERYTHING ON THE FLOOR ASIDE AND PULL

(MYSTIC MUSIC PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND AS THEY PULL IT OUT.)

Okay, ask it something?
RYAN
Yeah okay, ask it.

RAFFA

RYAN

(THEY SIT FOR A FEW SECONDS AND IT STARTS TO MOVE AND THAN
NOTHING OCCURS AFTER THAT.)
RYAN (CONT'D)
Hey, it won't work, but that's
cool, its a piece of junk anyway.
I'm bouncing, got a test in the

RYAN (CONT'D)

RAFFA

(RYAN LEAVES AND RAFFA IS SITTING ALONE AFTER RYAN LEAVES RAFFA
IS SITTING THERE LOOKING AT THE BOARD AND PUTS HIS HANDS ON IT.)

(RAFFA GETS A BIZARRE LOOK WHEN THE PLANCHET STARTS TO MOVE
SUDDENLY IT SPELLS OUT THE WORD S O O N. SCARED FROM THE SHOCK
HE THROWS THE STUFF OFF TO THE CORNER OF THE ROOM AND IGNORES
IT.)
RAFFA (CONT'D)
Yeah, Piece of Junk! Doesn't work
anyway.
(RAFFA PICKS UP THE PIECES AFTER THROWING IT BECAUSE HE
REMEMBERS THAT RYAN FORGOT IT RAFFA GETS UP AND WALKS OUTSIDE
AND GOES TO GIVE IT TO HIM.)
CUT TO:
EXT. RAFFA'S NEIGHBORHOOD - NIGHT
(WE SEE RAFFA WALKING DOWN A DARK STREET NOT VERY WELL LIT AND
WE GET THE IDEA THAT HE DOESN'T LIVE IN SUCH A SAFE
NEIGHBORHOOD.)
V.O
I usually don't go outside after
dark because we live in a bad
neighborhood. Alot of bad things
happen. Sometimes, at night if I
listen real closely I can hear
people fighting. Like I remember
one time Ryan was walking home
when he got attacked by some guys
because they needed money for
drugs or something and he came
back and had this huge black eye
from where he was hit. It was
horrible... Thats why I don't
really go out at night, scared
that could happen to You, You
know?
(AS RAFFA WALKS DOWN THE STREET HE TAKES THIS TURN AND NOTICES
SOMETHING THAT MAKES HIM JUMP WITH FREIGHT. HE SEE'S HIS BEST
FRIEND THAT HE THOUGHT HE KNEW HANGING WITH SOME GANGSTER KIDS
BEATING UP SOME KIND OF LITTLE BOY. WHEN RAFFA SEE'S THIS HE
DROPS THE BOARD AND TRIES TO WALK AWAY WHEN THE GANGSTERS SEE
HIM AND RYAN FREAKS OUT.)
RYAN
Oh crap!
V.O
I couldn't believe it I felt like
my whole life in that very
instant crashed and broke into a
thousand shards of glass! Why?
How? Why did he do this to me? He
was my best friend! In that
moment the world shut down and I
was by myself.
(RAFFA IS STANDING THERE IN SHOCK NOT SEEING WHAT IS GOING ON
WHEN HE RUNS OVER AND PUSHES RYAN AND KNOCKS HIM OVER AND HE
GETS UP WITH FURY ABOUT TO KNOCK THE HELL OUR OF RAFFA.)
RYAN
Go home! This doesn't concern
you!
RAFFA
Who are You? I don't know You
anymore How come I didn't know
about this?
GANGSTER #1
Man this punk messing with you
Ryan?
(RYAN STOOD THERE FOR A MOMENT NOT SURE WHAT TO SAY AND RAFFA

I've never had a home Raffa. I've
never had a family. My dad is a
drunk my mom is dead and my baby
brother... is gone the fosters
took him! You've just been a
place to hang out with place to
get food.

(ALL THE GANGSTER START LAUGHING AT EACH OTHER AND RAFFA'S EYES
FILL UP WITH TEARS AND HE IS TRYING TO HIDE THEM. HE IS SHAKING
WITH ANGER.)
(AT THIS POINT RAFFA HAS TEARS COMING DOWN HIS EYES AND SO DOES
RYAN FROM TELLING HIS STORY.)
RYAN
Go home Raffa to your house your
family, your wonderful life.
RAFFA
No I'm not going back without

RYAN

RAFFA

(RYAN HITS RAFFA IN THE FACE AND RAFFA PASSES OUT.)
CUT TO BLACK:

EXT. RAFFA'S NEIGHBORHOOD - LATER
(AFTER RAFFA GETS BACK HIS CONSCIENTIOUSNESS HE GETS UP SLOWLY
AND IN PAIN HE FEELS HIS FACE AND SEES THAT HE HAS A BLACK EYE
AND WALKS HOME SLOWLY.)

INT. RAFFA'S HOUSE - LATER
(RAFFA WALKS BACK INTO HIS HOUSE AND HIS MOM STOPS HIM SHOCKED
BY THE HUGE BRUISE AROUND HIS EYE AND FREAKS OUT.)
MOM
Oh my gosh! Who did this to you,
are you okay?
(HE GETS ANGRY AND PUSHES AWAY FROM HER AND HIS MOM IS MAD AND
UPSET, BUT MOSTLY CONCERNED DUE TO THE FACT HER SON JUST GOT
HURT AND NOW HE WON'T TALK TO HER.)
MOM (CONT'D)
Where are you going? We have to
ice that down.
RAFFA
Mom, leave me alone...
CUT TO:
INT. RAFFA'S ROOM - MOMENTS LATER
(RAFFA IS UPSET AND SITS DOWN IN FRONT OF THE BED AND JUST SITS
THERE FOR THE VOICE OVER.)

Just like that in an instant my
life had changed I didn't have
any friends, I was alone in the
world... Its not fair and it
never will be.

FAST SHOTS OF KIDS WALKING DOWN HALLWAYS IN BLACK AND WHITE WITH
A SUPER IMPOSED HALF FADED BODY OF RAFFA IN THE GROUP OF KIDS
MOVING SLOWLY.

INT. RAFFA'S CLASSROOM - LATER THAT DAY
(RAFFA IN CLASS AND HE NORMALLY SITS BY HIS BEST FRIEND RYAN BUT
HE ISN'T THERE TODAY FOR SOME REASON, BUT RAFFA DOESN'T CARE, HE
IS SITTING HEARING THE TEACHER LECTURING.)
MR. DEMISE
Alright guys today's bell work is
Friendship with oneself is all
important because without it one
cannot be friends with anyone
else in the world... What does
that mean Raffa?
RAFFA
Who cares what it means without
friends there's no point in
breaking down what it means
because there won't be anybody
who truly cares to listen.

you would hope I would wake up
because this is all a bad dream
but Mr. Demise was right I needed
friends, but the only place I

EXT. RAFFA'S NEIGHBORHOOD - THAT MOMENT
(WE CUT TO A SHOT OF RAFFA STANDING NEXT TO THE GANGSTERS THAT
JUMPED HIM.)

RYAN

(IN THAT VERY INSTANCE RAFFA COMPLETELY CHANGED FROM BEING
INNOCENT TO SELLING HIS SOUL FOR FRIENDS AND BECOMING CORRUPT
RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES.)
RAFFA
No! I want to be cool with you
guys, even if that means I have
to go through you, Ryan, to get
it!
You took from me the only thing I
cherished, our friendship, and
now I want to take from you what
you cherish... Your Family!

Ooooh. Kid has some guts Fight

AND JUST KEEPS PUNCHING HIM UNTIL HE IS KNOCKED OUT AND HE HAS
THIS EVIL LOOK IN HIS EYES.)

Oh man, he is good. Okay, you can
hang with us Raffa.
RAFFA

(RAFFA GETS UP OFF OF RYAN AND DUSTS HIMSELF OFF AND RYAN IS
BLEEDING AND IS LAYING ON THE GROUND. RAFFA GIVES THE GANGSTER A
SIGN AND RAFFA LEANS DOWN AND WHISPERS IN RYAN'S EAR.)
RAFFA (CONT'D)
Hurts when everything you love is
taken from in you in a flash.

SHOTS OF RAFFA DOING BAD THINGS LIKE VANDALISM, DRUGS, LUST,
FIGHTING, AND MANY ACTS OF DELEQUINCY.

So it was like that... just like
that, I had friends again and my
life finally started to make more
sense. For a while they had me
doing some stuff I wasn't really
for, but after a while they
started treating me cool like an
equal, I liked that... But things
had changed alot after a while. I
started doing bad things I would
sneak out, to fight and vandalize
stuff, do drugs, and than come
home and get caught and lie to my
mom and cuss at her sometimes, I
even hit her because she wouldn't
stop yelling at me.

INT. MR. DEMISE CLASS - MORNING
(WE SEE RAFFA SIT DOWN AND HE PUT HIS FEET UP ON A CHAIR AND
VIBRATING IT AS A KID COMES IN EVAN HE SITS DOWN. THE KID THAT

(RAFFA GETS UP AND TRIPS HIM AND HE FALLS RIGHT ON THE SIDE OF

isn't going to be any fighting in
this class, do you understand?

(RAFFA GETS UP AND WALKS OUT OF THE CLASS AND NOTICES THE NEW
KID AND SMILES AND LEAVES.)

had it coming, I mean that punk
tried me... still didn't seem

Of course, say man, you got a new
kid in your class I heard?

one of the biggest units in our
city and his brother tried me so
I shot him and now he is whining
about some street brawl but its
cool though, we got this.

Well actually, I was thinking

I'll cook you dinner and maybe
watch a movie, hang out, and

So just like that I had my first
relationship I was so excited
never experienced this kind of
thing before! I had a girl friend
its cool.

OUR CAMERA PULLS BACK REVEALING THAT IT IS 5:00 PM
(RAFFA AND Melinda ARE EATING DINNER HAVING A NICE NIGHT.
EVERYTHING SEEMS NORMAL AND THEY BOTH ARE ENJOYING THEMSELVES.)

So Melinda, how many
relationships have you been in?
MELINDA
Not many, just one or two I
guess, nothing super special.

CAMERA REVEALS THAT IT IS 3:00 AM

Yeah, I've never had this much

(Melinda YAWNS AND LOOKS AT RAFFA AND KISSES HIM AND HE KISSES

I felt complete for the first
time in months like the piece of
the missing puzzle was found and
for once things couldn't get any

thought this was all cool, but
