EXT. FAITH'S HOUSE OUTSIDE - AFTERNOON
(WE SEE OUR MAIN CHARACTER FOR THIS SHOW FAITH STANDING BEFORE
HER HOUSE AS AN AMBULANCE IS CARRYING A BODY IN A BODY BAG OUT
AND FAITH STARTS TO CRY AND THAN ANGER FILLS HER MIND AS SHE

wondering how I got in this
situation... Nothing has ever

A WEIRD WAY BUT SHE CONTINUES TO WALK UNTIL SHE GETS TO ENGLISH
III MR. DEMISES'S CLASS SHE GOES INSIDE.)
MR. DEMISE
Good morning, new student?
STUDENT
Whoa what a freak...
(THE CLASS STARTS TO GIGGLE THE TEACHER NOTIONS TO SIT DOWN AND
SHE GOES AND SITS NEXT TO SHAWN A NERDY LOOKING KID.)
MR. DEMISE
Okay class welcome Faith.
SHAWN
Hi My name is Shawn nice to meet
you
FAITH
Nice to meet you too are all the
students this weird here?
SHAWN
Yeah normally they actually throw
stuff but I guess today they
don't really have anything to
throw.
FAITH

EXT. COURTYARD LUNCH TIME - AFTERNOON
(OUR TWO NEW FRIENDS ARE SITTING DOWN FOR A BITE TO EAT AND TO
HANG OUT.)

So Uh... have any brothers or
sisters?

Used to she died while my mom was
giving birth, her name was Alex.
SHAWN

I never wanted a sister anyway it
messed my mom up she used to be
cool and than after that she had
a breakdown and started using
drugs and alcohol... that's life.
(JUST AS FAITH FINISHED HER STORY AND SHAWN LOOKING KINDA
FREAKED OUT FROM IT A KID WALKS UP TO FAITH AND STARTS TO MESS
WITH HER.)
RAFFA

Oh perhaps you could be silenced

PICKS UP HER BACKPACK AND THROWS IT AGAINST THE WALL BREAKING
STUFF WHEN IT HITS THE WALL RAFFA WALKS AWAY AND FAITH JUST GOES
BACK AND SITS DOWN.)
SHAWN
What you had him you could of
wiped him right there and then.
FAITH
Because that's not who I am and
anyway his karma will catch up to
him.
SHAWN

FAITH

(FAITH PICKS UP HER BACKPACK AND WALKS OFF AND SHAWN FOLLOWS

INT. MR. DEMISES'S CLASS - LATER THAT DAY
(THE KIDS ARE SITTING DOWN GOOFING OFF AND PAPER BALLS FLYING
AND SO ON WHEN MR. DEMISE COMES OUT WITH TODAY'S BELLWORK.)
MR. DEMISE
Okay Hey... STOP... Okay today's
bellwork is Who are you, What are
you?
MR. DEMISE (CONT'D)
Anybody want to answer that?
(NOBODY RAISES THEY'RE HAND.)
MR. DEMISE (CONT'D)
Anybody? Okay well lets give this
one to Faith alright Faith you
got the stage who are you and
what are you?
(FAITH HESITANTLY STANDS UP AND DELIVERS HER PRODUCT.)
FAITH
I am Goth?
(Everybody looks intrigued yet non understanding of what is
going on.)
MR. DEMISE
Why are you Goth, what is Goth.
FAITH
Well Goth is a way of life we are
the ones with open minds to what
happens around us. Everyone else
walks around like nothing happens
but I myself as a Goth stop and
pay attention when I get beat
(AT THAT POINT SHAWN TURNS AROUND IN CONFUSION.)
FAITH (CONT'D)
In school it makes me stronger
and that is what Goth is feeding
off of suffering and becoming
stronger and also being able to
open your senses and not be
trapped in a world of
classifications you people call
stereotypes.
(EVERYBODY IS SITTING THERE DUMBFOUNDED AND A QUESTION MARK LOOK
ON MR. DEMISE'S FACE AND A MAD LOOK ON SHAWN'S FACE.)
MR. DEMISE
That's definitely unique and very

What are you kidding she's a
freak of nature!
MR. DEMISE
You think she is a freak because
she is different but she could
look at you and call you
different and the fact that you
had to verbally attack her like
that would make you a freak and a
barbarian. Who is the freak now?

(FAITH IS HANGING OUT BY THE SODA MACHINE AND PULLS OUT A WALLET

STEALING HER MONEY AND HE HITS HER FROM BEHIND AND RUNS AND
SECURITY GRABS FAITH UP AND TAKES HER TO ADMINISTRATION.)

(FAITH IS SITTING THERE IN FRONT OF AN ADMINISTRATION BEING
WRITTEN UP FOR FIGHTING.)

ADMIN
Hello this is Ms. Lias I'm
calling about your daughter she
was caught at school today
fighting we weren't able to get
the other student but we need you
to come down and fill out some
paperwork and your daughter has
been suspended for 3 days... Yes
out of school... Okay a half an
hour?... alright no problem she
can stay in my office till you
arrive... Okay thank you.
(MS. LIAS HANGS UP THE PHONE AND LOOKS AT FAITH.)
MS. LIAS
You are in a lot of trouble when
you get home your mom says.
FAITH

I don't even know what happened I
just remember somebody hitting me
from behind and stealing my purse
and money and now I have to deal
with my mom because of it.
MOM (O.S.)

(FAITH'S MOM IS FURIOUS AND OUT RAGED AND DRUNK AND FAITH STANDS

MOM (CONT'D)

(FAITH'S MOM THROWS DOWN THE LAST PIECE OF BOTTLE AND SITS
DOWN.)
CAMERA PULLS BACK SLOWLY
(THERE IS DEAD SILENCE IN THE ROOM AS FAITH'S MOM IS NO LONGER
IN THE SHOT AT ALL AND FAITH IS LAYING THERE MOTIONLESS BLEEDING
PASSED OUT FROM THE ABUSE.)

INT. SCHOOL - 3 DAYS LATER.
(FAITH IS BACK IN SCHOOL AFTER HER ATTACK AND HER BRUISES ARE
STARTING TO HEAL BUT WILL LEAVE SCARS FOR LIFE THERE IS A LONG
CUT ALONG THE JAW LINE AND WRISTS HAVE BRUISES ON THEM AND SHE
STILL HAS A HINT OF A BLACK EYE AS SHE IS WALKING DOWN A HALLWAY
PEOPLE STOP TALKING AND LOOK REAL QUIETLY AT HER SOME WHISPER
MEAN THINGS TO THEY'RE FRIENDS OTHERS LAUGH ONE EVEN SCREAMS A

is suicidal.

Oh my god Faith what happened to

FAITH

I don't think an accident could

My mom hit me Ok I didn't do
anything wrong she just hit me
happy!
SHAWN
We have to tell somebody do
something I mean, you can't just
sit there and let that kind of
stuff happen.
FAITH
NO! WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING! Doesn't
matter though nobody would
believe me anyway she would deny
it and hit me again if I tried to
tell someone.
SHAWN
How can you not tell someone? If
you do she can go to jail she
wouldn't bother you anymore you
wouldn't have to be subjected to
this nobody deserves to be hurt
like that why did she do it?
FAITH
Because I'm Goth and I believe In
things she doesn't. Alright its
fine!
SHAWN
No, it isn't you know what Goth
is to me? To me, Goth is to put
on a lying, smiling face
pretending that everything is Ok
when it's not.
FAITH
You don't know anything about the
way I feel you never could, never
will so don't sit here and tell
me what I need to do when you
need to be worrying about finding
out who you are because your
nothing.
SHAWN
Do you think I'm nothing... not
even a friend even when I try to
help you?
FAITH

Like any other word, its meaning
depends on how people use it. The
only value in using a word is if
it successfully communicates a
certain idea to someone else. If
it doesn't work, stop using it,
come up with something different,
or say "Well, it may mean that to
you, but this is what I use it to
mean."
