STEPS OF OLD WEST SALOON-NIGHT A black shiny boot with a bright silver spur, steps onto the first wooden step leading up to a lively saloon. Coming from the saloon can be heard, piano playing, laughing, girls giggling, a crowd is having fun. Moving up, the new, black, well ironed pants, then up to a black vest, a tight fitting black leather glove, reaches into the vest pocket and pulls out a faded photo of a grinning cowboy in red suspenders leaning against a buckboard. Moving up to his face, the black clad gentleman has a pencil thin dark mustache, in the corner of his mouth is a stub of a thin cigar. He snarls, puts the picture away, then continues up the stairs and opens the swinging doors. INT. SALOON There are several tables with poker players, girls are everywhere, one is leading a cowboy up the stairs. The piano player is playing a lively tune. The gunfighter, (Jim Buck) looks the room over, then fixes his gaze on a poker player with red suspenders. He has a girl on his lap. The player looks at his cards and his mouth falls open in disbelief, he shows his cards to the girl on his lap, she puts her hand over her mouth. The other players seeing this, throw their cards in. The cowboy lays his cards down and rakes in the money. Another player turns them over revealing a 3, 6, 9, jack and king. The players are agitated at being bluffed. JIM BUCK (Yelling over the crowd noise) Sasparillo Smith! The music stops. The girl on Smith's lap gets up. The crowd draws back, knowing a gunfight will ensue. Smith looks around then points to himself. SMITH Me? JIM That's right sidewinder! SMITH What'd I do? JIM You crippled my brother, Tim! SMITH Well who are you? JIM I'm Jim Buck! Smith looks around for help with a scared look on his face. JIM BUCK Git ready to draw, Sasparillo Smith! SMITH My friends call me Sassy. But you can call me Mr. Smith! Snickers from the crowd. Jim unsnaps the leather keeper over his new pearl handled gun and flexes his gloved hand. SMITH Now hold on a minute, you say the Buck brothers are mad at me? Jim Buck and Tim Buck Too? The crowd laughs. JIM Say your prayers, Smith. Smith folds his hands, lowers his head and closes his eyes, every now and then he opens one eye to see if Jim has left yet. Jim Buck waits patiently until it becomes obvious Smith is stalling. JIM Allright that's enough! Git ready to slap leather Smith! Smith resigns himself to the fight and moves his hand next to the old beat up gun on his side. Jim moves to draw, but before his gun clears his holster, Smith's gun is pointed at him. They freeze this way. 00020000095E00000A2C958,JIM I wan't ready! SASSY Oh sorry Smith tries several times to get it in his holster, he finally looks down and gets it in.(a beat) They draw again with the same results. Smith is lightning fast and pointing his gun at Jim who didn't get his out of the holster. They remain this way until Smith lowers his weapon as if to let Jim go. Jim seizes the opportunity and finishes drawing, when it comes up to belly level Smith fires. The bullet goes down the barrel of Jims gun and it explodes in his hand. The glove catches fire. Jim frantically shakes his hand trying to put the fire out. He's screaming in pain and spots a half full pitcher of beer at a table. Jim runs over and shoves his burning hand into the pitcher, steam comes out and Jim sighs with relief. He then picks up his hand but the pitcher is stuck. He shakes it up in the air, then off to the side, he uses his other hand to try and remove it, then puts the pitcher between his knees and pulls a couple of times, to no avail. The people are laughing so he moves towards the door, turning, he points the mangled hand inside the glass at Smith. JIM (Yelling) I'll get you yet Sasparillo Smith! Jim runs out. Smith tries to holster his gun but it falls on the floor, he sits down like he meant to do that, the music starts up again. The saloon girl sits back on his lap. SMITH I'd say he lost that hand! Who's deal is it, anyways? INT. HOTEL ROOM - MORNING The girl from the night before is laying on the bed staring dreamily into space. Smith walks in from his bath holding a towel around his waist. He sees the girl on the bed and quickly moves his hands from the towel and puts both hands flat over his nipples to hide them. The towel falls to the floor. SMITH Oh My! The girl giggles and pulls the sheet up over her head in mock embarrassment. Smith dresses and sits beside her putting on his boots. GIRL (sitting up rubbing his back) Sassy? How come you don't want to take me away from all this like the other cowboys do? SMITH Oh I couldn't do that Pheobe Anne, my goodness, you get to live over a fun saloon, you get to dance and drink and have lotsa fun. Darlin it would be down right criminal of me to try and take you from all of this! PHEOBE ANNE (laying back hard onto the pillow) Well you're the only one I would go with ya know? SMITH Yeah, but when I came back, you wouldn't be here! 00020000083C00001384836,Pheobe rolls her eyes, Smith finishes dressing then leans over to give her a kiss. She grabs his neck with both arms. SMITH (Pulling her arms apart) Now save some for later Pheobe! PHEOBE Sassy I'm gonna follow you! SMITH Now Pheobe Anne Oakley Mosley, I don't know where I'm goin so you'd most likely get there before me! Smith is at the open door then looks back to give her a wink. PHEOBE Sasparillo Smith I'm gonna wait right here til you come back and get me! SMITH I'll have some food sent up! He shuts the door quickly as a pillow hits it. EXT.TOWN STREET Sassy is walking down the street, holding his suspenders, smiling and saying hello to passersby, he moves to cross the street and waits on a buckboard going by, he stops next to an old man smoking a corn cob pipe and rocking in a chair. He leans against a post. SMITH Mornin Roy. OLD MAN Smith SMITH How's my girl? OLD MAN Mean.... nasty...... ornery..... cantankerous... can't do nothin with her. I wouldn’t have the filly.... Were it me. SMITH I was talkin about my horse! INT. LIVERY STABLE There are several horses in the stalls all are calmly eating or sleeping or just standing calmly. There is a commotion at the end stall, cussing in Spanish can be heard. Sassy starts walking towards the noise when suddenly a young Mexican boy flies out of the stall and slams into the far wall. The boy slumps down, then starts to get up to head back for more. SMITH Whoa there friend, let me try her. Elizabeth is this mean man messin with you? Smith pulls out a carrot and rubs the horses nose. He saddles her up and ties up his bedroll. The boy walks out cussing in Spanish. EXT. STREET Smith is riding out of town when he suddenly stops then looks around behind him. He turns the horse around and rides quickly back the way he came, where he finds Pheobe Anne sitting side saddle on her horse, wearing a nice dress and holding a parasol. SMITH Pheobe Anne what in tarnation are you doin? PHEOBE I'm comin with you and that's final! Smith suddenly looks around, then slides off the horse. He draws his gun, crouches and looks down the alley. 00020000076500001BBA75F,ANNIE What's goin on? SMITH Shh. You tryin to get us killed? He walks, crouched over, toward the alley, moving his gun quickly back and forth in a semi circle. ANNIE Who is. SMITH Take cover girl! Run over to that store and shut the door! She takes off across the street crouching all the way, when Smith hears the door slam, after several tries he holsters his weapon, slaps her horse and it takes off. He jumps on his horse and gallops out of town. EXT. AFTERNOON DESERT Smith is asleep in the saddle crosslegged, the horse is walking slowly. Suddenly Lizzie stops just at the beginning of a long canyon, Smith wakes up and looks around. SMITH Abiline already Lizzie? Smith looks around and realizes something is wrong. He slips off the horse, pats her nose and leads her to a group of trees off to the side. He takes down his bedroll and pulls out some clothes, stuffing leaves into them he sets everything in the saddle complete with hat. He leads the horse into the mouth of the canyon, she walks in and Smith runs to the rocks. Soon a shot rings out, Lizzie takes off and the fake man full of leaves, falls off the horse. A man runs down from the rocks. His right side is deformed so that it seems like his chin is glued to his shoulder. He has to run sideways because of it. He comes up to the prone figure and tries to fire into the body but with the deformity he misses. The cowboy gets right up on the figure and finally hits it with another shot. The body jumps and leaves spill out. The cowboy looks close then kicks at the clothes, the leaves go everywhere and he falls from the kick. SMITH (walking down from the rocks) Hey there Billy John, how the hell are ya? BILLY You,You, sum bich, I been lookin for you fer 6 months look what you did to my shootin arm! SMITH (Smith is folding his clothes and putting them back into his bedroll.) Smith looks up at Billy then draws an arrow in the dirt pointing behind Billy. He struggles to turn around. With his bad shoulder Billy gets turned just in time to see Lizzie bearing down on him at a full gallop. The horse stops just as she hits the outlaw. Billy hits the dirt again and tries to get up while Smith ties his bedroll to the saddle, gets on and starts down the canyon. SMITH Don't be a stranger now ya hear Billy? Billy is on his knees by now and picks up a handful of dirt throwing it at the receding horse and rider. The wind promptly blows it back in his face. EXT.BLUFF OVERLOOKING TOWN-AFTERNOON Smith is sitting on Elizabeth on the edge of a hill, looking over Abiline. SMITH Abiline oh Abiline, hey that sounds like a song huh Lizzie? The Buck Brothers are there, Coyote Cory, and Billy John amongst others. A huge bearded man walks to a wooden podium in front. His right elbow is shattered and his arm swings limply at his side like it's attached by a string. He moves his whole body to the side and swings his lame arm onto the podium. He picks up a gavel with his other hand and starts banging it. BIG BOB Allright you bunch of mean ass hombres we got business to attend to, now Sasparillo Smith has been spotted in Abiline. He has Dave turn around then Smith hollers out some numbers and Dave spins around and shoots at them. Soon Dave is hitting them pretty quick. Suddenly a couple shots ring out and the dust kicks up around their feet. They dive for cover in different directions. They laugh and get on the horses when suddenly Smith puts up his hand and starts looking around quickly. DAVE (whispering) What is it smith? Smith shrugs and then appearing over the bluff is a whole line of Indians all dressed in war paint holding bows, arrows and spears. CUT TO: EXT. INDIAN CAMP LATE AFTERNOON Smith and Dave are standing with their hands tied behind their backs they are surrounded by Apaches, a couple of the big wigs are talking to the chief about what to do with them. 000200000981000079C697B,CHIEF Bonga Bonga! Suddenly all the indians of the camp start chanting Bonga Bonga. Death by Bonga Bonga! DAVE Hey Smith Whats death by Bonga Bonga? SMITH You don't want to know Dave! DAVE Well yeah, I would like to know how I'm gonna die. SMITH You really don't want to know Dave! DAVE Smith, tell me what is death by bonga bonga? Smith leans over and whispers into his buddy's ear, Dave's eyes get real big, he grabs his butt, then he passes out. EXT. INDIAN CAMPFIRE - NIGHT Dave wakes up to find that his hands are untied and theres a huge bon fire burning Smith is dancing and drinking with the braves. Dave staggers to his feet and goes over to where his friend is partying. DAVE Hey buddy whats goin on? SMITH Hey Dusty Dave! Wow, you were really out weren't you? DAVE Yeah what happened? The last thing I remember is that bonga bonga thing. SMITH Oh that nah you don't have to mess with that. Unless you want to try it that is! DAVE (giving Smith a dirty look) Of course I don't want to try it! But how come they let us go? SMITH (taking a drink of whiskey and offering some to Dave) You're not gonna believe this, but. Just then a pretty young squaw comes up and starts dancing with Smith, he forgets about talking with Dave, moves off towards the main group with her and starts dancing around the fire. Dave looks around then follows his friend, determined to find out what's going on. Coming up beside Smith, Dave realizes he's the only one that's not dancing so he starts moving with the music while he talks. DAVE So what the hell happened Smith? SMITH (like he just notices Dave for the first time) Hey Dusty Dave! Wow, you were really out weren't you? DAVE (Agitated) Sassy whats goin on? SMITH Oh, see that Indian over there talking to the chief? DAVE Yeah SMITH That's my daddy! Smith moves off with the squaw into the center of the dancing tribe. Dave looks confused for a minute then finally shrugs and takes a long drink off of the bottle that Smith had given him. EXT. INDIAN CAMP-MORNING The sun is coming up, Dave, Sassy's father Samson, and an old medicine man are sitting on a log by the smoldering fire sharing a long pipe and talking. Sassy comes stumbling out of a teepee and the squaw is trying to pull him back in. He holds up a hand for her to wait, then stumbles over to where the 3 are sitting. He sits down hard and takes a pull on the pipe offered by his father. He promptly starts coughing. 00020000075800008341752,SMITH What is this shit? SAMSON Peyote my son! SMITH Peyote huh, kind of has a nasty bite don't it? DAVE (in a daze, looking at the sky) Well, it's an acquired taste! SMITH So Daddy finish tellin me the story. SAMSON Where shall I start son? SMITH Uh better start from the beginning cause I don't remember much after, well just start from the beginning! SAMSON Allright well I was ridin the range one day, scouting ahead for the railroad track layers. Thats when the Apaches ambushed me, they took me to their camp and they kept me tied up for awhile. Well I figured it was death by bonga bonga you know. Dave hearing the words bonga bonga, came back to earth for a second and winced at the thought, then the medicine man handed him the pipe. Dave took another pull on the peyote and went back to dream land. SAMSON So I slowly made friends with members of the tribe and they eventually let me loose, but in the meantime we traveled way up north to get away from the railroad and the calvary. By the time I could leave I didn't want to, so I sent a bunch of letters to your granny when we got near a trading post but I guess they never made it? SMITH (sadly) Nah, I guess not. Boy wait til Samantha hears this, she missed you a bunch! SAMSON Yes I would like to see your sister, do you know where she is? SMITH Uh lets see granny told us , do you remember Dusty? DAVE (squinting trying to focus) She joined a moving army of lesbians. SMITH Nah, it was a traveling troupe of thespians. SAMSON Samantha is an actress? SMITH Yeah that's it and she's in Rock Springs, we're gonna stop there on our way. SAMSON On your way to where my son? SMITH Well me and Dusty here are goin to Laredo and win us a shootin match. SAMSON Oh? SMITH Yep 500 dollars. SAMSON Well that sounds intriguing, the tribe could sure use that money for the school, I would like to build for the children. 0002000006FE00008A936F8,DAVE (with a silly grin) You're gonna have a school for stupid gunslingers? SAMSON (laughing) No, no, a school for reading and writing. They have nothing and need an education to compete with the changing west. DAVE Oh ...I knew that! Dave takes another puff off of the pipe and falls backwards off the log. EXT. INDIAN CAMP-MIDDAY Dave and Smith are ready to ride out. Their horses are packed, Smith is hugging his father Dave is shaking everyones hand, the medicine man hands Dave a leather pouch and whispers 'peyote' Dave looks around and quickly puts it in his pocket. SMITH Well thank you daddy and we'll see you again real soon. SAMSON Yes, perhaps sooner than you think! Tell your sister that I love her very much. SMITH Sure will Daddy! Smith waves his hand to the entire tribe that is out to see them off. SMITH Good bye to our Apache brothers! They begin to ride out but the squaw is holding on to Sassy's leg trying to keep him there He reaches down and kisses her then hurries out of the camp. DAVE (patting his pocket) Well that was interesting, we should do that again, real soon! SMITH Yeah, that was nice. EXT.TRAIL- MIDDAY Dave and Smith are riding along, hot and tired. Dave is wiping his neck with a bandana when off to the side a cowboy hops out from behind a rock holding a gun on the 2. His leg is messed up at the knee, it's bent up at a funny angle and won't bend, he has to hop on his good leg. He hops to the middle of the trail holding his gun on them the best he can, the 2 just watch with amusement. SMITH Well hello there Sloan, how the hell are ya? SLOAN That's Tombstone Sloan to you Smith, and how does it look like I'm doin? SMITH Well it looks like you're getting around a little better, the last time I saw you, well, you were flat on the ground! 0002000006EE0000918B6E8,Smith and Dave slowly dismount while Smith keeps talking. SMITH Yeah, you'll be good as new soon, well close anyway! DAVE (leaning to Smith) As long as he don't get into no ass kickin contest! SLOAN Shut up You or I'll kill you right along with him! SMITH (starting to walk slowly around Sloan in a big circle) Now hold on there Sloan no need to shoot every body now is there? Sloan has to keep hopping around to keep an eye on Smith. SLOAN Hey I'm makin the rules around here. SMITH (picking up a little speed) OK Tombstone Sloan, you're in charge! What now? Sloan is getting tired and dizzy from hopping in a tight circle. Smith keeps walking in a larger circle a little faster each time around Sloan. SLOAN (hopping faster now and starting to wobble) well I'm gonna shoot you that's what, damn it Smith quit walkin like that. Smith is trying not to smile but picks up speed. SMITH Like what? You're the one hopping in a circle. SLOAN (Panting, dizzy and nearly falling over with each hop) Uh, you know, uh, well, uh, well, uh, what was the question? Sloan has been hopping in a circle too long and finally he's just too dizzy to stand anymore and falls over. He tries to get up on one elbow and grab his gun that he dropped, but the world is spinning so fast, he falls on his back and lays there until he can function again. Smith and Dave get back on the horses and point them down the trail. SMITH Allright then Tombstone Sloan well I guess we'll do this again when you feel a little better, but it was nice seein you again. Oh by the way this is my friend Dusty Dave. Dave that there is Tombstone Sloan we go way back. DAVE How do Tombstone, we'd like to stay and chat but there's cold beer ahead and it's just too hot out here besides it's Sassy's turn to buy! 00020000066B00009873665,SMITH (as they ride off) No No, it's your turn to buy, I remember! Sloan gets himself up on an elbow and just as the 2 round a bend in the distance, he hollers. SLOAN I'll get you yet Sasparillo Smith! He grabs a handful of dirt and throws it at them but the wind blows it back in his face. He falls on his back. The boys are still arguing who's turn it is to buy the drinks. CUT TO: EXT. SMALL TOWN - DAY The boys are outside of a stable having just put up their horses they are walking down the street towards the local saloon when suddenly shots ring out and dust kicks up around their feet. They both dive for the near by alley. They have their guns drawn and are against the wall . DAVE Where are they I didn't see nothin? SMITH Ones in the next alley over, 2 are over the general store, one at each end, one is in the church steeple and one is on the bordello roof. DAVE The whore house? Is nothin sacred to these idiots? SMITH I suppose not, allright you go through that window, then out the back door into the next alley and come up behind the hombre, when you shoot him I'll get the rest while their distracted by the shot. DAVE OK sassy! SMITH Dusty, don't kill him allright? Dusty salutes Smith as he disappears into the window. Sassy waits until he hears a shot then a holler of pain. He runs into the street, rolling to the middle, then jumps up, firing 4 times in a circle up at the roofs. MIKE (from the roof) Oww. My hand, dad burn it Sasparillo! SMITH (yelling up) Hey is that you Minnesota Mike? How the hell are you? MIKE How do you think I am? Now I got a hole in my hand too! Smith winces grabbing his crotch. MIKE That's right, yes sir, we like these 2, yes, yes we do. All 7 of the other people wince and hold their crotches. I'll bet your sister will be excited about your daddy bein alive? SMITH Yeah I can hardly believe it myself, little sis will want to go see him right away I'll bet. Before Smith can answer an hombre at another table who had his head down and hat pulled low, stands up and takes off his hat, to reveal a bald head with a patch over one eye. He walks to their table and stands over the 2, looking down with his one good eye. PRAIRIE DOG PETE Well well if it ain't Sasparillo smith ! SMITH Hello friend, do we know each other? The 2 gunfighters eye each other for a second until Pete goes for his gun. Dave pulls his gun, shoots, then holsters it, much faster. Pete grabs the other side of his face where there is another long scar almost identical to the other side, just starting to bleed. He runs towards the swinging doors, hits the wall, bounces off, then finally goes through the door, as he goes out he yells. 0002000006580000B2EF652,PETE I'm gonna get you yet Sasparillo Smith and you too Dusty Dave. Do you want to camp out along the river tonight and try and get us some fish, birds, rabbits or somethin? SMITH Yeah I suppose Dave, but I got to warn you I ain't much of a fisherman. I'll try for some pheasant or squirrel or hare, but me and fish don't get along! DAVE (laughing) Ah hell, Sasparillo Smith, I thought you was good at everything! DAVE Your secrets safe with me sassy! They pull up next to a fair size river with a nice group of trees. While the horses get some water and eat. Smith goes to find some game on land. Dave takes his shotgun off of the saddle and wades out about waist deep in the river, he stands there without moving for a while, then slowly sticks the barrel a couple inches into the water and pulls the trigger. 2 good size fish float up and he throws them onto shore. He repeats this several times until there's a nice mess of trout laying on the bank. He wades out of the water. 00020000082E0000C128828,DAVE So you gonna tell me why you don't like fishin Sassy? SMITH I told you Dave I don't like those sharp hooks and stuff! Dave stares at Smith until Sassy becomes uncomfortable, Dave keeps staring. Finally Smith throws down the bones he was done with. I can teach you how to swim Smith. SMITH Yeah sure someday. Dave started to say something but Smith put his finger to his lips, then he got up slow and pulled his gun, he motioned for Dave to go one way while Smith went the other. Smith sneaks through the woods aways, then stops and climbs a tree, he kneels on a big branch for a bit until a mean ass hombre walks under the tree. Smith drops down on him without a sound, they wrestle a second until Smith knocks him out. He then goes after the rest. Soon Dave is leading Tennessee Tommy and another one of the gang into camp. Smith has Paul and the other 2 they sit all 5 down. SMITH Whats wrong with you guys? You're already all shot up, lame, crippled, no fingers and you still keep comin. Didn't your mother teach you no better n that? PAUL Well we got to get even that's all, ain't that right boys? The other 4 all agree with Pecos Paul . DAVE Listen here you mean ass hombres, if you don't come after us we won't shoot you... do you understand that? TOMMY Big Bob won't like that! SMITH Big Bob Boston? How is that old side winder? Is his elbow still given him trouble? They all wince and rub their elbows nodding. TOMMY Nah it don't work at all! SMITH Well that's too bad, but he tried to kill me you know. PAUL Well he ain't too happy with you so I don't think he's gonna quit tryin to kill you. SMITH OK now you all go on and leave us be and you tell the rest of them mean ass hombres, that if they don't start nothin, there won't be nothin, you got it? They all agree to pass along the message and head out of camp. Just as they reach the edge of the clearing Smith yells to them. 0002000007830000C95077D,SMITH Hey, it was good seeing you all again! DAVE Yeah just a bunch of misguided boys, but the problem is they let em have loaded weapons! SMITH Well, maybe they'll learn this time. Smith and Dave look at each other, then they both say at the same time Nah! EXT. DESERT TRAIL - MORNING Smith and Dave are riding along a trail when they come upon a man standing on his horse, with a noose around his neck, the rope is tied to a tree over head. The boys ride up next to the unfortunate gentleman. SMITH Hello friend! STRANGER Uh huh DAVE Nice day ain't it? STRANGER (looks around) It'll do. SMITH If you don't mind me askin how come you're standin on your horse like that. STRANGER (looks up then down) If I didn't, I'd hang myself. The stranger shakes his head at the stupidity of the question , Smith and Dave look at each other and shrug. DAVE Well Smith if you ask a stupid question! SMITH Uh do you need any help, friend? STRANGER (shrugs, indifferent) Suit yourself. Smith draws and shoots the rope, the stranger hits the ground then struggles to get his tied hands from behind him down around his boots then goes about struggling to get the knot out using his teeth. Smith drops his gun and has to dismount. DAVE (pulling a knife) You want some help with that knot friend? STRANGER (with teeth on rope) Nope! SMITH Hey buddy who left you like this? STRANGER (Finally getting his hands free) Didn’t ask. DAVE Were 2 of em Pecos Paul and Tombstone Tommy? STRANGER Didn't ask. SMITH You don't talk much do you friend? By the way do you want to tell us your name? STRANGER (climbing onto his horse) Nope! DAVE Nope you don't talk much? Or nope, you don't want to tell us your name? STRANGER Yep The stranger mounts up and starts riding in the direction the boys are going so they all travel for a bit. DAVE (Trying to get the stranger to talk a little) Well stranger I'm Dusty Dave and that there is Sasparillo Smith 0002000008710000D0CD86B,STRANGER Did you say Sasparillo Smith? DAVE That's right. STRANGER (extending a hand to Smith) Well pleased to meet you Sasparillo Smith I'm Dallas Dan , you know an hombre named Big Bob Boston? Well anyway he kilt my family and I been huntin that varmint for a year but I heard tell that a fella named Smith shot his elbow clean off well is that you? If it was then I'm in your debt mister. Ain’t nuthin worse than a gunfighter who can’t use a gun. That is one nasty cowboy, why he don't give a spit about nobody… Dave and Smith look at each other wondering how they're gonna shut this guy up. INT. SMOKE FILLED ROOM The last five from the camp ground are back and have told Bob the bad news. BOB Allright well it looks like we got em on the run they didn't hurt none of our boys this time so they must be getting scared of me now cause I’m getting close and I reckon they don't want to make me mad. The five that just came back look at each other, dumb founded at Bob's stupidity. BOB We need a new plan. A plan that will be sure to get them where we want them any ideas? Just then the door opens and Prairie Dog Pete walks in, he looks the room over real close since he could barely see anything at all. He pulls the patch up to see if that helps him see, it doesn’t so he puts it back down. He finally fixes his good eye on Bob and stares at him for a while. BOB What the hell do you want stranger? PETE (smiling wickedly) Smith has a sister! EXT. TRAIL - AFTERNOON The 3 are riding along and Dallas is still talking non stop Dave and Smith are slowly going crazy, he has been talking since he found out who Smith was. DAVE I think I liked him better when he was disagreeable! EXT. TRAIL - AFTERNOON The boys are riding along when they spot a cowboy beside his horse, bent over and holding one of his front legs, which has thrown a shoe. SMITH Howdy friend, what seems to be the problem? CACTUS CALLOWAY (without looking up) What does it look like, dumb shit! My horse threw a shoe! SMITH Well, if we can help in any way, you just let us know. CALLOWAY Well idiot, unless you got a blacksmith shop on your horse. I don't think you can do much! DAVE Come on Sasparillo he don't want no help Cactus Calloway stops what he's doing at the mention of that name, and finally looks up with a scowl on his face. He slowly stands up and points a finger at Smith. His thumb is missing from the hand he's pointing. CALLOWAY You! SMITH (pointing back with his own thumb down) You! CALLOWAY (pointing with his good hand to the missing thumb) Do you know what this is? SMITH Well it could be a dog with no ear? But hey, lookee here, can you make a bird? Smith locks his 2 thumbs together making a shadow eagle then flaps his hands watching the shadow on the ground. Smith looks at Calloway then at Dave then back at the shadow on the ground, smiling all the while, obviously pleased with his new found expertise. SMITH Oh sorry I guess you can't! CALLOWAY No, fool! I ain't got no thumb, you shot it off ! SMITH Cactus Calloway! Well how the hell are you? CALLOWAY I been learnin myself for a long time to figure out how to shoot with no thumb and I learned myself real good! SMITH You taught yourself! CALLOWAY That's right! Now get down from there so's I can kill you. SMITH (looking up at the sun) Oh I don't know Cactus, I mean it's hot, I don't feel like gettin all the way down, shootin you and then turnin around and getting all the way back up, besides this never goes good for you! Why don't we call it a day and go to the nearest saloon.... besides it's your turn to buy the drinks Calloway! 00020000066C0000E123666,CALLOWAY (ready to draw) Suit yourself sidewinder! Cactus Calloway goes for his gun but before he gets it up to fire, both Dave and Smith have their pistols out pointing them at him. He stands there in shock. CUT TO: EXT.DESERT - MID DAY Calloway is walking, leading his limping horse. He's in the hot desert, the sun is beating down, he only has his underwear and socks on. In the distance the retreating forms of Smith and Dave can barely be seen. Out of frustration he picks up a handful of dirt and rocks and throws them at the 2, the wind blows the sand back in his face. CALLOWAY (screaming) I'll get you yet Sasparillo Smith! EXT. SMALL TOWN OF ROCK SPRINGS-DAY Dave and Smith are walking toward the local saloon when Smith stops and looks at a poster outside of the theater. It shows a man and a woman and in bold letters Romeo and Juliet repeat performance tonight starring Lance Lajoy and Samantha Smith. DAVE Hey is that? SMITH (with pride) Yeah that's my little sister all right. DAVE Wow she's beautiful! SMITH Well lets go get a drink, it's your turn to buy. Smith walks toward the bar but stops when he realizes Dave is not following, he is staring at the poster with open mouth and glazed over eyes. SMITH Hey Dusty Dave, lets go, uh Dave? Hey, are you smokin that peyote again? DAVE (coming out of the daze) Oh yeah, wow, shes beautiful! SMITH Yeah you said that, Dave. Come on, it's your turn to buy the drinks. DAVE Yeah me too. Smith is ready to try and snap his buddy out of it when a pair of heads appear in the door then back out. Smith looks at Dave and shrugs his shoulders. Then the doors open real quick and the 2 hombres come in holding guns on Smith and Dave. SMITH Well if it ain't Yellowstone Jones and St. Louis Slim. Hello friends how the hell are you guys? The last time I seen you guys you had all your working parts! Jones lifts his hand that wasn't holding a gun and the wrist is limp it hangs like a rag doll.Slim tries to move his left arm that is hanging limp at his side but it will only move an inch until he gives up trying and it hangs down like dead weight. JONES Yeah you're real funny Smith, a real clown but you're dead now we got the drop on you finally. You there, you can go, we got no quarrel with you. Sasparillo Smith, we're gonna kill but if you get up and leave we'll let you go. DAVE we're only gonna be dead once, but you 2 will be ugly forever. The 2 mean ass hombres cock their pistols and aim at Smith and Dave, suddenly 2 gunshots are heard coming from the back door, their guns go flying out of their hands and there's blood spurting out of both their missing trigger fingers. Smith and Dave look towards the back and there stands Pheobe Anne, dressed in jeans, boots and a black vest, holding a smoking pistol. The gunfighters run out of the saloon while they have the chance. 0002000006880000EE36682,SMITH Well now if it ain't Pheobe Anne Oakley Mosley I swear girl you're a sight for sore eyes well I wondered when you were gonna catch up why I was just tellin old Dave here, I wish Pheobe would hurry up and get here.
