We hear a woman's heaving, panic-filled breathing and feet dragging on hardwood floors. We hear the sound of someone snickering through their hands. KELLY (Shy Brunette with glasses) Kelly James, is that you? This isn't funny, I want out of here! Suddenly a red blur in the distance, can't quite make it out. Giving the scene the only small amount of light. Kelly Okay, I can do this, I can do this. Just breathe. More snickering continues and the red blur gets brighter. We can see now it may be an exit sign. KELLY The exit! Thank you! JAMES: Kelly's boyfriend, frat house type guy We hear her feet gain speed. It's now obvious it's an exit sign. Just about 20 feet from the sign powerful white lights blind her. We see nothing but white. She screams. As the her eyes begin to adjust we hear the sound of a powerful drill operating. Disoriented by the change of lighting, and the panic, Kelly has stopped moving. When she hears the drill she stiffens up as afraid to turn and look behind her. We see a mans figure behind her, and a raspy loud voice yell. JAMES (unidentified to Kelly) IT'S GO TIME! James lifts the drill up to shoulder height. KELLY (Screaming) Oh my God!! Kelly runs towards the exit ramp in a panic. James let's out a wolfish howl and chases after her. Outside of the haunted house[] We see Kelly running out of a trailor-style haunted house down the 4 foot tall ramp flailing wildly. A couple of friends are awaiting Kelly and are in hysterics. James, at the top of the ramp is doubled over. As the laughter dies down James realizes how upset Kelly is. Furious, rather than crying. KELLY crosses her arms (to James) You think you're funny?! You think that, was funny? You know what, you're such a prick. It's quickly apparent they have been drinking for a while. JAMES Kel, I really am sorry about earlier, I had no idea you would react like that. The last thing I want in the world is to see you upset. Obviously I don't take well to haunted houses, if last night didn't clue you in a little bit. SARAH No, no, no. Just hear me out. These are real haunted houses. Old houses supposedly haunted that haven't been occupied in years. No people in costumes jumping out at you, no stupid scenes of deaths or skeletons, just empty houses with a scary history. KELLY Are you kidding me, that sounds so stupid, especially this early. Sarah laughs SARAH They send a guide out with you that takes you to each house and let's you know the history of each place and the nature of the paranormal activity. It sounds so fun. They give one person in your group a video camera to tape all of the footage and give you the tape for an extra ten bucks! KELLY Okay, suppose I was interested in going, exactly how much is it? SARAH That's the best part! It's only 20 dollars. Two houses for 20 isn't a bad deal in my book! The bar is next to empty. Kelly and James are already seated. Each have a bottle of beer in front of them. JAMES motions to their table with one arm JAMES Over here guys. Jen and Sarah walk over to the table and sit down. Bartender (an unattractive 40+ bad hygiene chain smoking looking woman) Bartender walks over to the table with a lit cigarette in her mouth. BARTENDER What are ya'll havin'? SARAH Couple of your finest please. BARTENDER chuckles BARTENDER I got one brand that's still cold. JEN Ah yes, two of those please KELLY So do you have something to show us? SARAH Sure do. Sarah slaps a piece of paper down in the middle of the table SARAH Everything you need to know is right there. The tour is two houses that have had haunted activities reported. A guide takes you to each house and you meet him at the house in your car. JAMES That's pretty fuckin' cheap! SARAH Right. So they give you the option to use one of their video cameras for one person in the group and give you a copy of the tape or disc or whatever for only ten dollars more per person, also pretty fuckin' cheap. JEN That is such a good deal. KELLY Can't argue that. SARAH I know, it's sweet. They take you through each house for two hours. Before you go through each house they explain the history of the house and tell you some reports they've received about strange activities and what not. When you're done you get in your cars and go home. Simple as that. JAMES So how often do they do this? KELLY I was about to ask the same thing. SARAH Every Saturday. They only take one group at a time too, which is cool. They only allow 5 people in a group, and they only use one group per session. JEN Nice, so it's not all uncomfortable with other people, or crowded and stuff. SARAH Exactly. You guys, I think we should do this. What is there to lose, thirty bucks? I'll go find this place and set the date. Can everyone get off work two Saturdays from now? Everyone agrees. JAMES We need to get going, but we'll get a hold of you guys later. SARAH Yeah me too, we'll go handle all of that stuff. They get up from the table and begin to walk out of the bar SARAH Thanks for the best of house! BARTENDER lights a cigarette BARTENDER Have a good afternoon. They exit the bar Back in the parking lot they all wave goodbye and get into their vehicles and leave. A dim lit room with nothing but white walls, a rocking chair, and a light bulb hanging from the center of the room.[] We see Kelly in a large dog cage wearing ripped clothing. She appears as if she's just regained consiousness. Her hair is heavy and wet. 0002000007D40000389E7CE,She is bleeding from the mouth and hands. In a doorway behind the cage we see a woman in a man's suit. She isn't moving, just standing in the doorway. Kelly begins to breathe heavily and searches the cage walls with her hands hoping to find a way to open it. As she does so the woman in the doorway begins walking slowly in front of the cage in Kelly's view to the rocking chair. As she walks we hear her heels clicking on the floors. She sits down and begins rocking back and forth, giggling. KELLY What is this? Who are you? The woman keeps rocking, still giggling. KELLY Hello? What do you want from me? Hey! Let me out of here! Kelly shakes the front of the cage violently. The woman walks to the rear of the cage. The cage is too small for Kelly to turn around and see her. We hear the sound of a small torch being lit WOMAN We're gonna be good friends, you and I. I'm gonna get to know you inside and out. KELLY Let me the fuck out of here! What are you doing? The woman moves back to the front of the cage. She sits down directly in front of the cage on the floor Indian style. She waves the torch back and forth slowly, taunting Kelly. She giggles and sets the can on the floor still lit, and get up and walks to the rear of the cage again. Woman Eenie, meany, miney, mo. Kelly frantically searches the cage with her hands, trying to find a way out. The woman returns to the front of the cage, this time with a drill. The woman holds the trigger down operating the drill. She lifts it up to her own face and smiles behind it. Kelly begins to scream KELLY Please, please, no, let me out. Again the woman returns to the rear of the cage. WOMAN Perfect! I found one honey! Don't worry, I'll still let you pick. KELLY What the hell are you talking about? The woman returns again to the front of the cage, this time with hedge clippers. The woman begins taking of her suit coat and dress shirt. She folds them and sets the next to a wall. She walks back in front of the cage 0002000007290000406C723,KELLY What are you doing? Please. The screen goes completely black and all we hear is the drill fire up and then Kelly screaming. Inside Kelly and James room. kelly is in bed.[] Kelly jumps up as if she had just finished a terrible nightmare. She is heaving and covered in sweat. KELLY Holy shit. Kelly looks relieved that she's awake. She walks out to her kitchen and grabs a bottle of water out of the refrigerator. She takes one long drink. She then walks over to the kitchen table and takes a seat. She leans her face on her knuckles and sits there in silence. James walks in through the front door. JAMES Hey sweetheart, what's up? KELLY Nothing. I just had the craziest dream ever. JAMES Really? What was it? James walks over to the table and takes a seat next to Kelly. KELLY Well, I was in this dog cage or something in this empty room. There was this lady with all of these tools or something. She kept taunting me and laughing. I thought she was going to attack me but she just opened the cage and then I woke up. It was really strange. JAMES Wow, that sounds insane. KELLY Tell me about it. I woke up all sweaty and freaked out. JAMES Are you okay? KELLY Yeah, I'm fine. It was just a dream. JAMES Right. There's no point in getting all freaked out over that. KELLY James, listen. A two story house. looks pretty weathered.[] They all get out of the car looking the house up and down. The guide gets out of his car and greets everyone. Tom, the guide. late thirties. I'll tell you the history of each house, give you your camera, and just leave you on your way. You have two hours in this first house, and another two hours in the next house. TOM Hold your horses. Let me give you a brief history of this place, and it'll make sense. This is on the level, bud. JEN Okay, the floor is yours. TOM Thank you. TOM Back in the early 60's this first house was kind of a commune for the whole hippie movement. People just hung around doing all sorts of drugs, sleeping with just about anything, playing music, and so on. There person who owned the house was a man by the name of Jesse Hawkins. Jesse was kind of the Manson type. He always had views and beliefs that he was desperate for people to believe. Things like every friend is an enemy, every enemy is a lover, just weird stuff. Most of the people who stayed her have said that it was just a way for him to be able to sleep with just about anyone, but pit everyone against each other. He would create lies and try to get people to scrap any chance he could. KELLY Why would he do that? TOM Control, darling. Anyways, people started figuring this out and started thinking that Jesse was a tad bit crazy and possibly dangerous. A group wanted to leave, but really had no place to go. Tom motions to the house next door. KELLY So they decided to move next door. TOM Exactly. You see, this house over here has been abandoned for longer than you've been alive. So yes, all of the residents picked up and moved in next door. This left Jesse to his own devices. He would try and interact with the others but they would snub him day after day. People say Jesse started getting crazier with every moment he spent in solitude. Supposedly he would spend a large part of the day on the front lawn begging for them to come back, then cursing at them. JAMES Jesus, what a weirdo. Tom As months went by Jesse was bone thin and looking crazier than ever. So one night he crept over next door and while everyone in the house was sleeping he went by strangling and cutting the throats of all of the residents. He killed 11 people in the span of 15 minutes. When he was done with his handy work he came back to his own house and hung himself in the living room. JEN Holy shit, that is crazy. SARAH No fuckin' way. Why wasn't any of this in the news? TOM Think about it, a bunch of dead hippie squatters that nobody cared about? James and sarah are screaming hysterically through their gags, tears flowing down their faces. Kelly is laying on the floor with her arms and legs bound by rope. She wakes up in a daze. Man grabs the sledgehammer next to James. Without hesitation he slams in down on Sarah. Sarah dies instantly. Kelly screams loudly. She backs up against the tool bench trying to distance herself from Man. MAN I thought I just told you not to move. Man walks over to Kelly and lifts her onto her feet. He holds her against the wall and begins to strangle her. He does this until Kelly looks like she is about to pass out. Man then drops her to the floor. MAN Youre starting to bore me. Kelly is weeping and trying to catch her breath. KELLY Please, please. MAN Are you ready for my grand finale? I think you may find it to be a little simplistic, but it really will be a blast for me. Man drags Kelly over to the folding chair, and places her in the chair once again. He walks over to the tool bench and grabs more rope. He walks back to Kelly and ties the rope around her body and arms behind her back. He does the same with her legs.
