A modern European city, at the present time. COLOR.

LEO, an accountant who works at an insurance company, is dismissed. He mantains that he was ceased because he suspects there probably exists a fraud in the accounting, of which he had found indications, but no one of his friends believe this history. Leo devotes then all his time and efforts trying to get proofs that corroborate his suspicions. The investigation changes Leo character and life: the fraud becomes a true obsession for him.

New York, the Forties. BLACK AND WHITE.

SAMUEL DALVA, classic and topical detective from black novels, receives a call from an employee of an insurance company asking Dalva to investigate the existence of a possible countable fraud. Things are not as simple as they appear and the case become more and more dangerous.

The two histories, which occur at different times and at different places, are confusely interlaced as they advance in their development. A relation among them becomes more evident as both histories evolve, arriving at a point in which both plots complements in a way it is not possible to understand the one without the aid of the other. But they share the same and logical outcome: Leo and Dalva are only one individual with an uncommon personality upheaval disease, similar to the one described in the novel "Don Quixote".

His world is made more colorful and quaint because of his sensitivity to his surroundings. The only problem is that he is easily "tempted" by street musicians' performances and arrives late at work.
