			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><b>Odd but interesting character(s) take refuge from a hurricane in a beat-up motel and are forced to make a choice between good or evil in order to survive the night.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.simplyscripts.com/images/motel-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.simplyscripts.com/images/motel-2.jpg" align="left" vspace="3" hspace="3"></a>Each character must have some history involving a supernatural event in their lives that factors into their choice. Genre is open. This is a micro-budget short, so no destruction of the motel, no children or animals and minimal special effects.</b></p>
<p>You must write one script <b>(properly formatted)</b> between <b>6 to 12</b> pages (courier 12 point font) on this month&#8217;s theme. Submit your script <a href="http://www.simplyscripts.com/unpro_short_exercise_12_10.html">here</a>.  The script must be received by <b>Friday, October 19th at 11:59 pm e.d.t.</b>.  Please <strong>do not put your real name on your script</strong>, however, please use your real name and real e-mail address on the <a href="http://www.simplyscripts.com/unpro_short_exercise_12_10.html">submission form</a>.  (After the exercise closes you can either have your script removed or resubmit the script with your name on it).  Please put &#8220;(c) Copyright 2012&#8243; on your script. </p>

<p>This month&#8217;s theme and genre are:</p>
<p>Genre: <b><a href="http://tracy-morris.suite101.com/gothic-horror-a128558" target="_blank">Gothic Horror</a></b><br />
Theme: <b>Ghosts are not bad, just misunderstood</b></p>
<p>One character must be a ghost.  By the end of the story, the reader must understand that the ghost isn&#8217;t &#8220;the bad guy&#8221;.</p>
<ol>
<li>This is a <strong>free</strong> challenge (not a contest).
<li><strong>One </strong>entry per person.
<li>Script must be in <strong>PDF </strong>format.
<li>Script must be <strong>properly formatted</strong>
<li>Script must be between <strong>6 to 12 pages</strong>
<li>Do not put your name on the script.  <strong>The scripts will be anonymous for the first week</strong> or so. (After the exercise closes you can either have your script removed or resubmit the script with your name on it).
<li>Do use your real name and real email when you submit your script.
<li>You are<strong> strongly encouraged to read and comment</strong> on at least three to five other scripts.  <strong>Your participation does have an impact on the Writer&#8217;s Choice selection process.</strong>  <a href="http://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?v-register/">Registration</a> on the discussion board is free (and we don&#8217;t spam you).

<p>Writer&#8217;s are given one week to write a properly formatted script between 6 to 12 pages on the theme and genre announced on Friday, October 7th.  </p>
<p>This is open to anyone and is free.  </p>
<p>You can get a flavor for the challenge by checking out some of the scripts from the last <a href="http://www.simplyscripts.com/unpro_short_exercise_11_09.html">One Week Challenge</a> (OWC) </p>
<p>And, it is free because it is NOT a contest.  There is no official judging.  There is no winner.</p>
<p>However, three scripts will be selected based upon input from the participants, people&#8217;s choice and webmaster of SimplyScripts.  Those three scripts will be sent to iScript.com who will select one of the three scripts to be audio performed.</p>
<p>Discussion board membership is not required, though highly encouraged. </p>
