A secret service agent, Jennifer Marsh, gets caught in a very personal and deadly cat-and-mouse game with a serial killer who knows that people (being what they are - both curious and drawn to the dark side of things) will log onto an “untraceable” website where he conducts violent and painful murders LIVE on the net. The more people who log on and enter the website, the quicker and more violently the victim dies.

Scripts of Chip Proser

Gaia SelenThanks to Leon and daily script you can read this unproduced sequel to Big Trouble in Little China entitled Big Touble in Little China II written by Chip Proser. It was to be a made-for-tv movie, but it never got off the ground. You can find it on the movie scripts page.

After a bit of searching around looking for more info on BTiLC II, I ran across some great scripts by Charles “Chip” Proser. You can find a listing of produced and spec scripts on Charles Proser’s scripts page. Included are a rewrite of Top Gun, Innerspace and Botman. You can also find a great website on Chip’s documentary Gaia Selene: Saving the Earth by Colonizing the Moon that came out in 2005. Our future and the earth itself are in danger from pollution, global warming, climate change and a looming energy crisis…. You can watch the entire documentary at GaiaSelen.com and get more info on the film at the imdb.com listing. - Don

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Hitman scripts

The Movie Page

It would appear that my arch nemesis B.E. over at The Movie Page, with a little help from JBM and Anonymous, has, after a long, long absence in the script world managed to claw his way to the surface of the earth (with a grammar book in one hand, no less) to score a couple of really groovy reads - The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Hitman.

If you skip over to the Movie Scripts page, you can read a couple of cool scripts. - Don

Field of Dreams script

Thanks to Dave for pointing out that shortly after In The Bedroom appeared on Awesome Film that Field of Dreams appeared.

Field of Dreams - March 9, 1998 final draft script by Phil Alden Robinson (based on the novel by W. P. Kinsella) - hosted by: Awesome Film - in pdf format

Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella hears a voice in his corn field tell him, “If you build it, he will come.” He interprets this message as an instruction to build a baseball field on his farm, upon which appear the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. When the voices continue, Ray seeks out a reclusive author to help him understand the meaning of the messages and the purpose for his field.

In The Bedroom script

Thanks to Awesome Film and “Kasamir” read the script to the five time Oscar nominated movie In The Bedroom. It was nominated for Best Adapted Writing (Todd Field and Robert Festinger) and a few other ‘lesser’ nominations for best actor, actress, supporting actress and best movie. I completely missed this one back in 2001. A New England couple’s college-aged son dates an older woman with two small children and an unwelcome ex-husband. Then something terrible occurs in this wrenching, emotional drama.

Check it out on the Movie Scripts page. - Don

OWC Scripts - Batch 3!

hear your scriptThe third batch of six scripts in the One Week Challenge is up. Participants had a week to write a 12 page dramatic script on the theme of Prison Cell. The scripts will be posted in groups of six or seven over the next five days.

Please note, when you click on the title of the script, it will take you to the discussion board thread for that script. Click on the title again and poof! the script will appear.

Just a note on the scripts up for Oscar contention that the studios have put up. Now that the Oscar season is over, the studios will start taking the scripts down. Fox Searchlight, oddly enough, has already pulled Juno, The Savages and Once. A few are still available cached on google or msn. In those cases were I was able to find a cached copy, I’ve swapped out the link. So, now would be the time to download your favorite Oscar related script before they disappear completely. - Don

Entrapment script, Entrapment script and Entrapment script

We have a three-fer today.

Thanks to Daily Script and the most excellent Donovan there are three drafts of Entrapment.

The first draft of Entrapment has been on the ‘net for years.

As Donovan writes… So now we have the Eight Draft and the Tenth Draft, both of which are by Don Macpherson & William Broyles Jr. It took me a long time to allocate authorship for the Tenth, because it turns out they were BOTH rewriting the script at the same time (not one after the other as is usually the case) plus the script is formatted differently to the Eighth Draft and the cover page lists the writers in the wrong order (which originally led me to suspect the Tenth Draft was by a secret ’script doctor’ who didn’t even put his name on the cover). But I now believe the Tenth is by Macpherson & Broyles… despite the fact that Macpherson is uncredited on the finished film. Both scripts are a bit uneven but very interesting. The Eight Draft is an ‘early rewrite’ which retains Ron Bass’ original ‘Hong Kong handover’ setting for the climax. The Tenth Draft is a late (but not final) ‘production draft’ and moves the climax to Kuala Lumpur on Millennium Eve (as in the finished film). There are many other differences, though. The Tenth Draft is a surprisingly good read.

Donovan, thanks for the excellent research on the history of these two drafts. So, skip over to the Movie Scripts page and compare and contrast. - Don

Congratulations to Diablo Cody for Best Original Screenplay

Juno - February 6, 2007 revised pink draft script by Diablo Cody - hosted by: Fox Searchlight - in pdf format

Juno is a Mid-Western highschooler, who decides one day, out of boredom or curiosity, to have sex with her friend Bleeker, a member of her school’s track team. She likes him well enough, but isn’t hung up on him. This one time encounter results in Juno’s pregnancy. She and her best friend Leah decide to take control of the situation by browsing for prospective adoptive parents in the local Pennysaver, and Juno settles on seemingly perfect, affluent couple Mark and Vanessa.
